Syncying
Love the game, my very favorite, but I cannot play on both my iPad and iPhone, tried getting help from Apple but the say to contact the creator. Can someone explain to me why? Thanks
Lost all stats.
After playing hundreds of times, today all my stats disappeared. Nothing wrong with my iPad…but all my high scores just went away. And it’s saying there’s no iCloud backups to restore despite the fact that I do backups several times per week. Super lame.
Small update
Fun game however some words found in English language are deemed not legitimate words despite using the challenge feature. Would have gotten 5 stars otherwise.
Mandatory tutorial
Mandatory tutorials are annoying. There needs to be a way to skip this. I've played this game before and don't need to do that.
Very difficult to see how you can challenge a mistake made by them
I have found numerous words that are in the dictionary and yet get rejected. I’ll give you a case point the word spink, is in the dictionary, refers to a bird. Yet the system won’t even let me ask if it’s a word.
Why is Saturn not considered a word?
Saturn is an entire planet. How is it not a word? Anyway, love the game.
Entertaining but not accurate
It’s fun and nice to unwind. But the dictionary is outdated. Here’s an example: they said “myc” is not a word. But there’s Mariam dictionary definition of the word. Also, it is a scrabble dictionary word. Here’s a quote: And the Yes, "myc" is a valid Scrabble word. It is worth 10 points in Scrabble. The term is also used in biology, where it is a combining form meaning "fungus They don’t care enough to even respond to users comments.
Fun but some real words the game claims are not real words.
Screwed me out of the words “Omnist” and “Maji” because it said they weren’t real words. Lol
Loved This Game
I was addicted to this game and loved it but then I was running into issues with it recognizing simple words such as “rosen”,“rescan” and “prepare” - this was even after challenging it and it told me that those were not actual words. What?!

It’s good me and my mom play it together and we have fun except I think names should count cause I keep forgetting that you can’t do names but good overall. And a lot of people say this is a word and it doesn’t say it’s a word but you can’t do names or countries or states or cities so you should know that
Oof
There’s so many reasons that this game is a flop, but one of them is that the words in this game sucks. You can’t reuse a word, which sucks because the games hard. Also they should be adding in WAY more words. Like “and” and “I” are obviously words. Some words I use all the time aren’t listed at all! Anyways my fingers hurt I’ll follow up later on more hate on this game. Sorry to the people who enjoys this game and the people who created it!
Fun game but points get missed
Playing Tower, some words have point value but don’t get added to the total score. It’s hit and miss too. But it’s an easy and fun way to pass the time.
Great but awful
The game is really great, but the word challenge portion is inaccurate, inadequate and just plain wrong. Words that are words in multiple dictionaries are listed as “not a word”. This is complete nonsense. What is even more frustrating is that there is no way to tell the developers they are wrong about some words.
Word challenge is WRONG
A word as simple as “ensuite” (look it up) is rejected. This isn’t the first time this has happened to me. I have double-checked other mistakes. I don’t think their challenge option is worth a crp.
Actual word
Love playing the various iterations of this game. I do have one bone to pick though. While playing one of the puzzles, the word “zorse” denied as real. Then tell me why it’s been in the dictionary since the 1800s, and I’ve seen one with my own eyes🦓+🐴?
“Russia” is not a word??
So geographical names are not words? Exactly what dictionary are you using? What language or planet? Give me a break… Deleted.
It’s good
Solitaire was getting old. This is a fun game that I enjoy. My only critique is that I’ve noticed they only give one Q X Y W Z and possibly V. I could care less about getting extra points for those letters, I just want to be able to utilize them in multiple words like the Y in gypsy or x in xerox, etc.
Boring. 😒
This game is very boring in different ways for kids and adults. For kids they get bored and frustrated easily and for adults they feel uninspired and bored. This is kind of like a scam because this game is basically the same as all of the other world games I know. I don’t know how this game is a best selling game because it is so boring. I am very sorry to say this but it is the truth. This game is horrible and I feel that even I could design something like this in 5 minutes. This game is a very boring unimaginative. I do have some ideas to make the game better though: 1. Add some more colourful designs to game-not just orange. 2. Make the game more interesting-or more imaginative 3. Make the game stand out from all the other word games-try an idea that no one has thought of. I hope these suggestions help the game and make the game more popular and enjoyable. 🙂 Thank you. 😁
Keeps Crashing
I love this game. However, when I try to open it to play it after several hours, it won’t open. Just goes back to my phone home screen. I’ve already deleted the game once and downloaded it again and that allowed me to play it again, but then I lose my high scores. Getting frustrated and about ready to delete it forever.

What’s the point of a word search game that doesn’t know common words?
Great but
This is a fun great in the morning to get my mind going but this game does not let u use certain words for ex. I used the word xer which is another term for gen xer it is a noun and is in the Oxford dictionary but it did not count it. There have been problems like that. guess maybe I am somehow smarter the this game?

I’ve always liked this game, but three years and no updates leads me to believe the developer no longer cares about it.

Daily search
Really like this game, but it’s very frustrating when it gets stuck when syncing. This has happened before and now the July 5 and 6 puzzles are still syncing on July 8.
Frustrating.
I use real words and this games says they aren’t and I use a challenge up. Irking! And it’s uselessly hard after you get past 5-7k on puzzle. Like RIDICULOUSLY HARD and all of a sudden no longer takes valid 5-7 letter words but then will accept AIS or QIS. Irking!!
Fun game but excludes words
Fun and addictive but there are several obvious words that this doesn’t recognize even when challenged including places such as America and others that are in fact within the dictionary. How are the words determined?
Doesn’t know real words
It denied my challenge that “stim” is a word, immediately with no review. Stim is in the dictionary.
Half & Half
This game can be rather fun for nerdy word sleuths like myself, but the word choice/dictionary options can be incredibly frustrating. Sometimes I’ll just *try* something if I’m desperate for a move & am shocked that it worked — but the most *annoying* thing is (at least in the puzzle version) that there will be times when say a six-letter word will be denied for being “too short” but then a random three-letter word will work (& even if you can extend that three-letter word to something longer, that will be denied)!!! I just don’t understand the logic in that at all, & adding to the grumpypants frustration is the fact that there’s no explanation or “rule book” to explain why that is the case. Writing this review is the only option I have! 🙄

“Meer” is, in fact, a word. It means a body of water. Harlem Meer is one example!
Addictive game with bad dictionary
The main issue that the dictionary behind the game contains obsolete words. For example ‘jur’ which is not in use since 1600s. There is no possibility to challenge wrong words within the game and I’ve seen already a few.
Great game with many modes!
After playing with multiple modes and adjusting the settings to my preference I think this game is great! Lots of game styles to keep it interesting and user friendly setting adjustments. I play it almost every night to help me fall asleep. The zen mode is my favorite.

TERRIBLE! Who’s idea?
Who’s idea??? A TERRIBLE game. I searched up in word hippo 6 times if a word was correct, it was and spelltower+ says it wasn’t! It was ridiculous. An absolute scam! What type of dictionary are they using? A Japanese one? DO NOT GET THIS GAME
Good but should allow for word submission
I challenged the game when it said Sleipnir is not a word. It is a word. It is a name. It allows proper names because I also found the word Beth and it recognized it as a word. It allows some foreign words based on common English language use, I’m guessing - but since it’s just a silly game, I am not overly disappointed. It’s a truth but it doesn’t make me hate it.
It’s okay
It’s fun the first few times you play it until you notice that it keeps giving you the same letters over and over. It’s hard to make big words because there is always a letter missing.

the word choice is awful in this game let’s ignore the fact that half the time a name is a word and the other half of the time it’s not the worst offender is acronyms words like laser xray count but any acroyum starting with an X or any sort of file name apperently doesn’t count. there is a system to add extra words to the games dictator but sometimes it will just tell you that a word isn’t a word it makes it pretty frustrating to play

Would encourage the developer to read the reviews and ensure the dictionary is updated. Why is this game allowed on Apple Arcade if basic gameplay is so poor and the developer does not address issues
Enjoyable but it needs a mute button
I got a free three month sub to Apple Arcade with my new iPad. I don’t really play games so I tried to give the free sub to a younger relative. He told me to use it myself as there was a great word search game he thought I'd enjoy. He was right. I used to sew to stay awake while watching TV in the evening but my eyes aren’t good enough for that anymore. I can play SpellTower with half my brain and watch TV with the other half. It’s fun! I like that there are variations of the game. My favourite is Zen and after a few days I find I’m scoring well. I start a game then pick it up and put it down throughout the day. I like word games but I'm no expert. I like that if you’re stuck, you can play with the letters and I’ve discovered a few new words that way. I’m checking them to the Collins Online Dictionary and some of the words, especially the three letter ones, aren’t listed so that’s a puzzle. I am winning most of my challenges so that’s fun too. The only niggle for me is the sound. I don’t dislike it but if there’s anyone else in the room, it’s a bit antisocial. My iPad doesn’t have a one click mute so it’s mildly annoying when I come back to my audiobook and I have to mess about with the volume. I don’t know if I’ll keep playing after my free sub expires but it’s a definite maybe thanks to the appeal of this game.
Word Challenge feature isn’t accurate
I have found several legitimate words and Challenged the game — only to be told, that said word isn’t a word. Since when is Spain not a word?!! How exactly does the app decide instantly what is and isn’t a word? It obviously isn’t very accurate or efficient. This app has great potential, but it clearly has lots of room for correcting errors and general improvements.
Real Words Not Words
I have a love-hate relationship with this game. It’s fun but nothing kills the vibe faster than being told a real word "isn't a word." Seriously—Merriam-Webster would be rolling its eyes. If you're going to make a word game, how about recognizing actual dictionary entries like "soogee"? It’s frustrating when the game rejects words that are 100% legit.
Worth the Arcade Sub alone!
This game is highly addictive and best not played when you have any plans! Have broken off briefly from a 2 hour (and counting) session - so many modes, plenty with no timer so takes that stress away. Highly recommend!
Which Dictionary
I would love to know which dictionary is used in this game! I have become tired of challenging words which I know exist, to be told they don’t. I accept there may be a slant to US English but even words I know exist in an US dictionary are rejected. Have deleted this app.
Is there a bug on this app?
I really enjoy using this app and completing the daily challenges, however since the Christmas Day 2022 the scores page has just been synchronising and not showing any scores/places in the leaderboard which is really frustrating.
Broken, no response from developer
The game is broken two ways: - Tower can have only 2 yellow tiles for players and 3 for others which completely alters scoring - local leaderboard keeps saying “syncing” and no placement is done. If you message the dev, no response. If you delete the app and reinstall, even though it relies on Game Center, it deletes all past achievements. So, it’s a pretty frustrating experience
