Got to be there
The description of the tree becoming a "must see" after featuring in a movie is a little like a section of the UK populations need to go to Lords or to Australia for a cricket game. The game isn't important the being there is. It's so vacuous and there a numerous parallels It's a phenomenon worthy of some academics analysis over the next 10 years at great cost to the taxpayer and little benefit!!
Drives you mad
Just renewed my subscription and can’t use the app. Sign in, provide verification code sent to my email, goes back to sign in, rinse and repeat.
The link does not work well
I like the idea of the paywall sending a link to my e-mail. I would like the link to work quickly and reliably!
Bad customer service
The content is great, but they completely screwed up my subscription. I contacted them and literally all they did was send me a case number (automated, I assume). No further effort on their part.
Poor user experience, but great content
UnHerd is a fabulous source of erudite opinion and challenging journalism. The UnHerd app isn’t quite up to the task. The one thing it should be good at is knowing the difference between a subscriber and a guest. The login process (and staying logged in even when you click a different tab) is a poor experience. I’m not sure it’s worth paying for another year when I’m more often than not thrown back to being a guest, having five or 10 articles to read. The writing is spot-on, the technology behind the customer journey not so good.

Useless App
Bad app, won’t allow you to log in at all. Pointless.
Good content, poor app
I want to rate this higher, because I like UnHerd’s range of views (even, or especially, because I don’t agree with all of them). But the app itself is crap. I’m a paid up member but it can’t seem to remember me, and I have to log in every time. It’s annoying. They also need to think seriously about how to display the comment section on a phone screen, because the current method isn’t terribly helpful.

Good articles, flaws in the app
The articles are good if somewhat repetitive but the app will treat you as reading the same article multiple times if you leave the app briefly. Which means that 5 articles a month is more like 2
Great writing; limited content; poor functionality
Some great writing. Whether I agree or not with the commentators, I appreciate the quality of writing. However, there is limited content posted daily. I subscribed as I thought I’d be losing out just checking the limited articles I could read without subscribing. But really, there’s not much to lose out on. The app is awful. I have to keep signing in, even after signing in and going to my account, I have to sign in again to see anything. Interestingly, no facility to cancel the subscription, so will have to remember to contact them directly next year to cancel.
Article lengths and comments
I used to bookmark the mobile page and I like how it had the length of article in mins. Also, the comments directs you to a browser which is annoying. Bar that, really good
A diet of ideas
Well written, well argued articles, with a guide to just how long they might take to read, are a delight. People, places and ideas and lots of politics, could there be a more compelling reason for reading UnHerd?
Shut out
Why does UnHerd have such a problem with my subscription and password. I’m so fed up with constantly being asked to log in and then having my password refused and am unable to read the articles I have already paid to read. This has been happening for months now in spite of contacting support. Why can’t the emails I get promoting articles send me as a paid up subscriber to the article instead of asking me to log in to read them. Really fed up

I appreciate the background information on the houthis. It seems like a very level description of the situation.
Not Impartial
There is a lot of interesting discussion on UnHerd but it is not impartial. It often seems to me like a lot of old people talking about the good days. When I have joined in on the other side of an argument people have often complained.
Great journalism- bad app
I like the journalism. Thought provoking and interesting. The app, however, is terrible. I paid for a subscription but the app refuses to recognise me so I can only read using the website. I don’t understand why the only way to log on is via an email link. What is wrong with a password ? TBH I will probably not renew my subscription due to this hassle.
Great article, let down by app
Firstly, UnHerd is a great resource for reading diverse opinions on a range of issues. Its international coverage is particularly impressive and shames the likes of the BBC. However, its app does the content little justice. Main problem WHY DO I KEEP HAVING TO LOG ON EVERY TIME I READ AN ARTICLE AND THEN EVERY TIME I READ THE COMMENTS. Rant over, sort it out devs.
Great content, app constantly logs you out though
Great alternative media, fresh perspectives. App is good, but even if you check the box to stay logged in, it logs you out every time you close the app, which is sort of annoying.
Fine journalism
No, I don’t agree with all the commentaries, but they are thought provoking and well written. Often they tackle issues ignored by the legacy media, or where only one view is allowed. Freddie Sayers is a great interviewer and everything a leading journalist should be. He restores faith in basic British virtues , not least in those of fair play and excellence. We are better off for UnHerd.
A terrible app
Here I am rating the app. It is a waste of time. It is always asking me to sign in, remembers nothing. This is not a problem I encounter with any other app on my iPhone. A rich man owns UnHerd: he should invest some of his wealth in better app architecture. Otherwise, the content on UnHerd is pretty good.

Quality writing about things that matter
It’s great to have articles with content rather than froth, that are rooted in context with a proper analysis of the issues.
Annoying App
I enjoy Unherd but the App dev team need sacking. It often fails to recognise me as a subscriber and the comments section makes it difficult to up and down vote comments. In the latest exciting new development it won’t let me comment at all because of some sort of Recaptcha issue. Other publications seem to manage these things perfectly well but it seems beyond the wit of whoever Unherd has given this job to. I don’t imagine that running an app such as this is rocket science in this day and age.
Generally good, teething app trouble
Great reporting and like the cross political views. Just some trouble with the layout of articles meaning some words go missing off the page. Sure it will be sorted.
Informative, thought provoking and not woke
Well written and well directed articles actually questioning the world and what the powers that be are actually doing. No conspiracy, based on facts and figures and puts questions to the power that be! Real journalism, not to be found in the MSM! Well done Freddie and team.

I love this publication - it provides thoughtful independent views by truly interesting writers. They are drawn from the whole spectrum of views, meaning I am never bored by the predictable outpourings of those too insecure to challenge the current fashion. Thankyou UnHerd!
