Doesn’t Load Consistently
The app is fine when it works. When it doesn’t, which is about 85-90% of the time, you have to close and reboot the app numerous times for it to start up again. You’d think this would have been addressed after years—nope.
App is great. Actual monitor could be better.
Great size, works well, relatively easy setup. However, the battery in the monitor bulged with our second baby and we had to replace it within four years. Wish there was an easier solution than purchasing another monitor from eBay and changing the battery out after the new monitor wouldn’t connect.
Notifications fail
I like having the app but the biggest perk of having it stopped working. It no longer notifies you if there is sound or motion. I’ve tried everything to get the notifications to work including uninstalling and reinstalling and it only pops up this tiny box while you’re actively watching the feed which completely defeats the point.
Great when it works
I have a B monitor that has a standalone Parent unit with a screen and app access. The Parent unit rarely has issues unless the cameras themselves disconnect for some reason. The app however, has not worked in a week or two. The Parent unit is working just fine, so it is an app issue and there does not seem to be any actual resolution when this happens

The baby camera is fantastic! All features work properly and are very accurate.

App worked great for about 2 years then you’d have to go to the account screen then back to the camera screen for it to work. Now it won’t work at all says can’t load account

The only thing I would change about this app however it does have the videos of motion or movement detection is playback footage rather than little snippet videos

Not the best
I like this app and how it has milestones and things like that but when I look at the video footage that it captures if I watch one video it won’t let me replay that video or watch any other videos for a while.

Sucks
Started out great. It was nice to be able to see my app when my husband was home and I was working. Then all the sudden app stopped giving notifications. Tried to reset the app, the camera. All the things definitely will be looking for something else with our next baby.
The App no longer works correctly
I’ve had this VTech camera for over five years, and I think it’s finally run its course. The video playback constantly gives me an error, so I can’t see what’s going on with my baby overnight. I also have another VTech camera that isn’t Wi-Fi, and it’s terrible. Looks like it’s time to start shopping for a new model.

Could have really used some of the recordings off off here! They often fail if it wasn't recent.
Disconnected
Love the app though I’m upset that it keeps disconnecting all the time! I have really good WiFi so I know that’s not the problem, and I wish the company could update the app more often:)
Amazingly easy to use
This is one of my most favorite systems to use. Although my child has snapped the back stopper off and the antenna, the monitor still works like a charm! The monitor allows you to plug it in and turn off the screen light, so you can hear your kids clearly without being kept up by a bright light. Which is perfect for our family. You can add cameras to a monitor or switch monitors and add old cameras onto the new monitor systems. Pretty easy and straight forward as well! I highly recommend, the visual range is fantastic along with the sound quality. Long cord, night vision the list goes on!
*Failed to retrieve video*
We’ve had our vtech monitor since 2023 and have been hoping for an update that fixes our issues but we’ve had no luck. The physical monitor is fine if you just want the in-home connection and nothing more. The app is helpful for getting notifications of sound or movement but that’s about it. The quality drops pretty significantly, often. This was a pretty big concern when we had an infant, and we had to carefully watch for breathing. The grain was so bad there was no way to tell. We definitely leaned more on the in-home device, but even that can get kind of grainy sometimes. But our biggest complaint has been the playbacks…or lack thereof. 9/10 times, the playback “failed to retrieve video”. And once you do get one that works, you better hope you were screen recording because if you try to go back it’s gone, unable to retrieve video. If you are relying on this app to record important moments, may the odds be ever in your favor. We have dealt with it for years because we simply don’t have the money to invest in a new setup and the physical monitor is enough at this point. But we would never have purchased this for our infant had we known about these issues beforehand. We have attempted every troubleshooting method over the years, updating when available, full uninstalls/reinstalls, multiple devices, and at this point…it’s just the app.
could be better
the cameras themselves are great, but the fact of the sound or motion detected and recorded, only allows you to playback what was recorded within that hour if that. It does not allow you to go back and watch anything that was recorded previously that day or the night before and then when you’re able to watch some of the playback, it doesn’t always wanna play. It’ll say file not found but that’s the only downfall of the VTEC baby monitors that I have other than that they are great
Doesn’t monitor movement anymore
I’ve used this app for 4 years now and it has gone more and more downhill each year. Lately it never connects and you have to jump through so many hoops just to get a feed and now it stopped recording motion and giving motion alerts. So disappointing because I’ve recommended vtech monitors to other parents.

Has anyone noticed that notifications stopped as of Friday? I haven’t gotten any notifications since?
Great little unit
For around $100, the unit we got came with one small monitor. The app gives it such a versatile experience. Can turn on and off the nightlight from the app, speak through the 2 way camera, tilt the unit for different angles and more. Overall very happy with the app. Was easy to use. No lag on connection, and can connect and use more than one device at once!
Does not connect
Does not work on WiFi, even when band split to just 2.4 ghz. Does not work.

I have been using the app for a while but suddenly I have stopped receiving notifications to the app. I tried resetting and removing re-adding camera.
Going down hill
I've used this app in my son's room for a year and a half no problem. Out of nowhere I'm consistently having to re-connect to the camera.

Absolute garbage app
Nothing works on here. We try to communicate through the camera if needed to soothe them using the microphone button, but only loud static noise is delivered through the camera which terrifies the child. The video playback feature never works either as every time we select a video to watch it mysteriously can’t retrieve the video. Absolute garbage app and a complete waste of money.
Can’t have 2 phone paired up
When can’t have both our phones paired up the monitor, if I log in to it it kicks my wife out and she has to re sync so hers works and visa versa, is it possible to have 2 phones synced up to it like you can with any other camera?
Loading time
It takes up to 5 minutes to load the cameras live feed to my phone. Very frustrating

Not functioning properly
As of the last month it has completely stopped notifying me of movement/sound. This is a HUGE negative to me. I’ve done all the recommend problem shooting and nothing is working. It’s always had problems playing old recorded clips from movement and I’ve let that slide but the notification problem needs to be fixed as I see it’s happening with a lot of other people
Great butt….
Everything works fairly well except the volume and timer for music. It is so low on my screen that my phone has difficulty with clicking those buttons.
Needs an update.
So I frequently move the camera around to rooms depending where my baby is sleeping. I always encounter an issue with it saying “offline”, disabling me to see anything on the monitor or app. This was never a problem before. Think the app needs an update or something. If this keeps happening, I will be switching brands.

Notifications stopped
I’ve used this app for years and though it’s never been the best, it worked and I reliably got notifications if my child was moving/making sound. All of a sudden I no longer receive any notifications, despite updating the app, restarting my phone, closing the app and opening it again, and checking all the settings on my phone. Please fix this! It was one of the main reasons I used this monitor. Very disappointing.
How to download videos captured via motion detector?
Good app, does the job. How can I download videos captured via motion detector? Can download ‘memories’ but not videos recorded by motion detector. Thanks.
App had to many bugs.
First of all, you pay so much for the camera. Secondly play back NEVER works. “Failed to retrieve video” is what it always says. No it’s not my WiFi, it’s just this buggy app. Takes forever to load, fails playback exc.
Needs Improvement & iPad Integration
Glitches out and freezes, audio drops from time to time but that is all to be expected with any baby monitor app. The real bugger is that it doesn’t work on iPad. However still better than other baby monitor apps I’ve had in the past. I also do enjoy having the physical monitor with the abilities for duel cameras.

Honestly, this is an exceptional baby camera. I have depended on this since the day she was born and it’s been two years as of today. I can watch her when I’m at work grocery shopping or even just sitting at home it’s 10 out of 10 and I completely rely on this. I love it, and I will absolutely refer this to anyone that I could possibly can looking for a baby monitor!!!!!!
Glitch after glitch after glitch
In the three years we’ve used this app, it’s been impossible to regularly or reliably access the Recents video clips. Sometimes it’ll allow you to view 2-3 of the clips before it refuses to open any more, and sometimes it won’t even let you open one. It has nothing to do with WiFi or cellular data, it behaves the same way no matter what. It has nothing to do with location, it behaves just as poorly/ inconsistently when I’m viewing at work as when I’m viewing at home. If you want to pop in the shower and then go back to watch the clips to see when your baby actually fell asleep, you’ll be left clueless. Or if you’re trying to figure out what time your baby actually woke up and started fidgeting before they called for you, you’ll also have no idea if they’ve been awake for an hour or a minute. Other features are spotty too: the microphone sometimes work and sometimes doesn’t, it sounds clearer on my husband’s android whereas it sounds super scratchy on my iPhone. The panning feature isn’t very smooth, it takes 2 clicks to move the camera up a smidge (while one click down sends the camera down to Antarctica). If we have another kid or if anyone asks for our recommendation, we definitely will NOT be considering this app (or Vtech products as a result) due to its wildly inconsistent issues and lack of reliability.

No More notifications
This camera app isn’t sending notifications. So you miss out on everything happening in the room. Time to return this product for refund.
Fine but not optimized for iPad
The app itself is good but it is a huge drain on your phone battery. I installed it on my iPad so I could still use my phone without moving the video around but it’s not fully optimized which is very bizarre.

Playbacks NEVER WORK
I absolutely love this baby monitor for live monitoring. However I absolutely cannot stand the app simply because I have never been able to look back at any footage from earlier in the day. I have perfect connection and it always tells me “failed to retrieve playback video” or “event file not found”.
Great baby monitor
Super happy with my vtech monitor and this app! Theres a few things I haven’t quite figured out after only using it for a day, but over all extremely happy. The best part is no additional costs to connect and use the app, and I can get notifications on my phone if my bubs awake so I don’t have to be constantly looking at it.
App quality
The camera quality isn’t bad and I like the features it has, but loading into it is the issue. Full bars and strong WiFi connection but still sitting there waiting forever for it to load. Motion detection, forget about it. Sometimes I can get to see what motions are captured but not as often as I’d like
No notifications
Updated to IOS 26.. now won’t send notifications. I’ve turned cam off and on, checked all my settings on phone and app.. still nothing. Great otherwise, but with sick kids highly inconvenient
