Able to calm my self and heighten focus. Really helps me meditate for the first time effectively.

It’s so annoying that the app is free but to actually use it you have to pay, like if you have to pay to use the app then just make it so that you pay for the app instead of leading people on by making the app free then making them pay to use the experience.
Overall
Starts a bit bewildering as it’s like something you’ve not done before but after a few sessions you begin to enjoy it more. Only day 3 but hopeful it will improve more as the more sessions I do. Worth a try as it’s different to other apps.

I Love Lumenate
I Love Lumenate, it has given me the tool to truly relax and let go while meditating. It allows my mind to let Go and Just Allow! It stops the chatter. I’m just now getting started so I ‘m sure as I explore more, I will have even more Amazing adventures with My Meditations! So far, I have seen more color & images in my meditation. My mind relaxes to allow the New to Flow in and let go of the old! I have now been using the app for a few days and I have to say that each meditation is A Wonderful Experience! Just Allow and Receive New and Cool Feelings and Thoughts to become a part of You! My Feelings are cleaner and Fresh! More Grounded!🩷🥰🩷 Thank You!🩷

I was really hopeful with this app. I figured there would be fees, but I figured I’d give it a shot and see what it is before committing. After soooo many questions the only way to proceed is to sign up for the “free trial”. No. Make a short demo or something for us.
Good but expensive
I have used the 7day free and now want £9.99 a month or £59.99 for the year. I am weighing up the pro & cons of this. I see that they also sell a Bluetooth mask at £99. However I believe that the mask is only usable for this app and not a Bluetooth device to use with other sleeping sounds. Also I have read some negative reviews saying that you pay for mask but this does not include membership to use the app. Unsure what to do. As I used it for the 7 days I think it’s improved as my core sleep was over an hour but now dropped again
Slop all around
Another “free” app that requires a monthly subscription to use any features. Once the subscription is paid you will unlock a whole bunch of bologna that will never and has never helped anyone. Stupid app, 2 stars is overly generous.
Limited Library. No real soundtrack mode.
Library is too limited, even with the premium subscription. 6th mind has more. I have the Nova and like it. But, the limited library really makes it overpriced. The “your own soundtrack” mode doesn’t at all respond or interact with music, it just flashes its own pattern, and Kitty at Lumenate confirmed that. It does help me fall asleep. But it is slim pickings for programs and gets old fast.

I use this before bed to help stop my mind racing.. it get me into a relaxing state and I wake up feeling refreshed
Can't use it without a subscription
I get wanting to make money from your app but I downloaded it, answered all these questions and went though the tips etc.. Only to find out I need to subscribe. So if you do not subscribe, you can't use the app at all except for them to collect your data from the info they had you fill out. Perhaps before you have users fill out all that info, you tell them upfront that you need to subscribe. Sure, you have a free trial but I'm not signing up for that. I always forget to cancel before the trial is up. Thanks for wasting my time and making me fill out all this info and go through the tips and tutorial only to find in the end that I had to subscribe to even test it. Deleted the app and will not ever reinstall.

Lumenate is now doing a Beta test for an AI guide, which 1) doesn’t really seem necessary for the content that Lumenate provides. And 2) takes money from actual humans crating music. Instead of going to AI to “search for the perfect thing” stop and put the money you are giving to OpenAI / ChatGPT into some real sound artists or mixes like the John Lennon one. IF you are dead set on using an AI “guide”, consider changing to Claude or do a look into companies who are doing the most good for your subscribers, and not OpenAI’s unsecured models

Been practicing meditation using other apps and diving into my breath work. The nova takes it to the next level. I shared this experience with my friends who also meditate and they loved it as well. Can’t wait to show this to my family.

It just flashes your phone camera like a strobe light and the audio is just generic peaceful music. Seems like the craziest scam I ever fell for
Mixed Feelings
After seeing an ad on Instagram, I grew curious and wanted to test out light meditation for myself. Upon the first minute or so, I felt pretty dissatisfied and thought this was a waste of time until the next thing I remember was waking up completely refreshed. I had been suffering from vivid nightmares for years and this was one of the only methods I found to completely set my brain at ease when sleeping. While I am quite appreciative of Lumenate, I am still unsure if it’s worth paying nearly $15 a month for. I wouldn’t hesitate to subscribe if it was a one time purchase or maybe even $8 a month, but I don’t think I can justify the high price point when it really is just flashing lights. However, I can still vouch for the restorative process of the Lumenate app and fully recommend it to anyone. Just be wary of the price.

I like to read reviews from other people before trying any app and I’ve gone through a lot of reviews on here and one thing I noticed because I’m very observant is that there is not a single spelling mistake from anyone who’s wrote a review which leaves me very sceptical as to who is really behind all these reviews 👀 I’m not saying it doesn’t work but I will need to do more research before trying this out for myself … just be aware of what I mentioned as we all ain’t perfect and neither should our reviews or spelling be

Nice experience
It’s a nice experience and it definitely helps with meditation. Two things were annoying though - you can’t try with signing up for a free trial that automatically bills after the first week. Second - the onboarding is about too detailed and can’t be skipped.
No wow mement from me
I have only tried what is free before I consider selecting the free trial. It is an interesting idea, but I have not experienced that ‘wow’ moment to make me what to start a trial, which I would ended before the subscription starts anyway as I can afford anymore Subscriptions right now.

Ich finde diese App eigentlich klasse und hab sie schon mehrmals weiterempfohlen, allerdings war ich grad was geschockt als meine premiumversion abgelaufen ist und ich die Preise gesehen hab.. also ab sofort kein Premium mehr.. super schade, aber das ist mir einfach zu teuer!

Absolutely love it. I use it often for everything from helping me fall asleep at night, putting me in a better mood, making me feel more centered and grounded and under my own control. I whole heartedly recommend this app and the Nova mask. Also use this during psychedelic therapy sessions and it’s insane with John Hopkins Playlist

i had high hopes when i saw an ad for this i even looked at reviews and comments and saw nothing negative so i downloaded it, went through the intoduction just for it to make me pay for my first experience.. i know this can be common but i really had high hopes and just felt like i got let down especially for what this app is used for.

Interesting but not therapeutic - a bit of a gimmick
It’s interesting to try, but it doesn’t actually change anything - not for me anyway. I think the meditative / therapeutic benefits are oversold. Don’t worry if it doesn’t do much for you too - apparently you are not alone! A lot of people feel the same way. It’s fun, but nothing more than that.

A wonderful tool
I love this app so much! It is very refreshing and relaxing to me. I use it at bedtime to settle into sleep. I also use it during the day to relax and refocus for the rest of my day. Using the phone’s camera for the lights is doable and works fine. I spent the extra money for the eye mask and I love it! Now I don’t worry about the phone falling over and can fully focus on my session.

I genuinely doubted this would even do anything at all. But honestly my mind is kind of blown? I just saw some crazy cool stuff after the first time using it. Might be a party trick, but dang is it cool. Way too expensive though.
Too much money
I liked the first two sessions but it sucks the monthly price is now 17.99cad a month (which it was only 8/mo a year ago?? Why over double price with very little change??) it just seems too greedy for me

Got an ad on Youtube with Rhett and Link. I thought it was Ai so I looked it up and sure enough it was real, I watched the video as they went through the spinning column, the app and the weird iPod thing and i was very skeptical. As much as I hate subscription services, I can firmly say that this is 100% worth it for me. I have taken a THC gummy once a month to help with my depression and anxiety revolving past mistakes that keep me up at night crying, and while this does not give you the physical sensation, the mental sensation was tied neck and neck in terms of calming me down. I have officially, as of this moment, quit taking THC and I am going using this app every night. I am very interested on purchasing the Nova Mask they sell. If you’re skeptical, try the free week. I never write reviews for anything I purchase, but nothing in my life has made me feel so strongly to voice support for a product.

Works Well For Me - YMMV
I’m a Triple-A battery — Anxiety, ADHD, Autism — and I’ve struggled with significant insomnia for most of my life. I’m always searching for tools that genuinely help me regulate, relax, and sleep. I also have experience with non-prescription psychedelic substances — both chemically derived and organic — used intentionally and in carefully prepared settings. I’m familiar with full-spectrum altered states and immersive visual phenomena. Sometimes being gently taken “out of my mind” is actually a relief; my baseline mind can be an uncomfortable place to live. I found Lumenate through Instagram. It advertises psychedelic-like visual experiences without substances, alongside benefits for relaxation, sleep, focus, and gratitude. I tried the free trial and loved it enough to subscribe at the promotional rate (£17.99), and later bought the £100 LED eye mask. For me, it’s been worth it. For sleep, it has been genuinely helpful (alongside CBD, valerian, and prescribed medication). I’ve fallen asleep wearing the visor and headphones and stayed asleep 6–8 hours — with no audio continuing after the session ends. That’s significant for me; normally I need constant background sound to stay asleep. I also use it as part of my morning routine. I take stimulant ADHD medication that takes about an hour to activate. During that window, the more energising sessions help me wake more smoothly and intentionally. In terms of “psychedelic” experience: it’s variable. It does not replicate the depth or intensity of a full altered state, but sometimes it produces surprisingly immersive visuals and emotional shifts. Other times, it’s subtle or underwhelming. That unpredictability feels very human. On rare occasions, I have used Lumenate while already in an altered state (with careful preparation and safe set/setting). In those cases, the visual effects were noticeably amplified. I am not recommending this — only reporting personal experience. Anyone considering combinations should be aware of medical and legal risks. It’s not a miracle tool. I use it 2–3 times per week. Some sessions work incredibly well; others do very little or irritate me. The session library is still somewhat limited, so I’m undecided about renewing at the full annual price (£29.99). However, if my sleep data over the next few months shows sustained, measurable improvement, then the total investment (£118 including the mask) will absolutely have been worthwhile. If that happens, I will come back and increase my rating. A serious warning: take the medical advisories seriously. This is NOT appropriate for people with photosensitivity or light-triggered headaches or seizures. The flashing can be intense. I would also encourage the developers to explicitly acknowledge people with PTSD related to flashing lights. My father is a retired veteran with trauma linked to explosions. When I ran a session in a lit room, even from across the space, the strobing distressed him enough that he had to leave. That reaction alone suggests the warning should be prominent. At the same time, I wonder whether, under professional supervision, the controlled immersive environment could have therapeutic potential. That is firmly a “consult your medical team first” situation. One thing I appreciate is that most sessions are minimally vocal. There’s a brief introduction and sometimes a thematic prompt (gratitude, kindness, befriending sleep), but then it moves into immersive soundscape without heavy-handed hypnosis. Personally, I prefer that. More directive hypnotic scripting might help some users, but it could also be intrusive or destabilising if not handled carefully. Overall: when it works, it works very well. When it doesn’t, it’s either neutral or actively uncomfortable. I’ve recommended it to many friends and family members; reactions have been mixed, but no one has felt misled. For me, it has become a meaningful addition to my sleep and nervous-system toolkit — not universal, not flawless, but genuinely valuable.

It’s definitely something different and quite an experience, but I don’t think it’s worth the asking price. I’d almost prefer to have the option to buy some individual tracks outside of a subscription. Not the full set of tracks, and maybe capped to 10 minutes (they are pushing a subscription after all), but maybe there’s a middle ground.
Highly recommend
If you’re someone who’s just getting into meditating, or is looking for expensive ways to step out of your normal meditative practices, this is for you. I love the 15-30 minute guided sessions, but I love that the 10 minute meditations also give me the opportunity to focus within for a moment.
Free trial false
How is it a free 7 day trial when you try to take the money out before hand? As soon as I select start free trial it didn't take like an amount to verify the card it took the purchase amount! It's stated it would charge me when the 7days was up and that's not what happened! False advertising, very misleading. Without actually paying for the service you don't get any further in the app. Thing is I would've paid for it after I seen if it worked!

This actually works. I was skeptical. I have insomnia and I tried this to help me drift into sleep easier. Not only did it help with that, but it made me sleep longer and deeper. Still only on day three, but I’ll keep using it
The worst thing I have went through
I did it and one point I felt like I was drowning, under water and couldn’t breathe. Then I started getting heartburn. Afterwards, I got a headache. I don’t understand how ppl can have a good results from this. I felt like I was dying. I won’t download this app.
