Paywall?
This is a game people paid $8 for, yet the multiplayer is essentially unplayable. It isn’t being meaningfully updated, improved, or maintained, while the developers continue to let players believe that these issues are going to be addressed. What makes it even more frustrating is the fact they put out a mobile version like this at all. It feels like a straight-up cash grab that took advantage of a loyal fanbase who had already supported and enjoyed this game on console or PC. Bringing the game to mobile, charging players for it, and then leaving it in this state is a complete disservice to the people who supported the game in the first place. The community deserves better than empty promises and a paid game that barely functions as intended. This isn’t how you treat loyal players. I can’t believe these game companies anymore.
Less turtely game design
The game does too much to reward defensive play and to punish attacking imo. We’re Vikings! We’re here to pillage and kill! We’re not not here to study rocks and summon giant magical regenerating boars. What do you mean I’m too far away from colonized land? Of course I am, that’s where the enemies are! I think there should be a looting mechanic that grants resources and money for destroying a clan, some kind of a snowballing mechanic to encourage conquering. Also there’s an annoying bug with the menus where it goes back to the previous menu as soon as you tap.
Incomplete to the pc version on steam
I love the game. I’m more than angry with this version however, as it is incomplete. I didn’t discover this until purchasing all of the DLC, and this being the second full purchase of the game (first time on steam for my old pc) it’s turned me off completely.

Bugs and crashes
iPhone 16 Pro Max and it crashes just as you’re getting a good flow in the game. Freezes, so you can’t save it, then crashes. Nice.
Unsure of the problem
So after several hours of gameplay with the story line and single player I just gave up at trying to win. I bought several of the DLC clans thinking they would provide advantages and Im still getting failures on the easy level. Mostly it's the impossibility of just surviving. Currently unsure of the disconnect or why most seem to think this game is so awesome, ill try and set up some examples. First and foremost is the food, one second im up at +35 with full complements of crews working fields/fisheries/and hunting-not counting the several buffs from the lore that ive achieved as well as upgraded storage silos and farms etc. then suddenly without providing feasts or trade routes in food im suddenly starving in summer? no maxed population, I havent even met any other clans to fight but suddenly im starving?? no rats, nor anything that has stolen or disrupted my production, I look at the food icon and no idea how my sudden production now is so far bellow my consumption, which then dumps your happiness which means no new villagers, so I cant build and now I just sit back and watch it all spiral out of control..This was the BEST case ive had so far at coming near to a win.. Second example that happens by far more than anything. Established again with several buffs, trade routes and several incomes of food and resources, no maxed population and maybe 6-8 warriors and the hero..now, I have multiple (say 3-4) healing huts that are upgraded as well as storage silos, and bang mass rats in everything and the advice? build more healers and upgrade the silos..Uh huh except it all spirals out of control as above-again no enemy, not even an issue with wolves or the Drauhgr. Last example that killed my motivation to play further: Trying the falcon clan after trying the kraken, and bear clan. I picked the falcon because several of the looting advantages looked to hopefully offset the bewildering mass losses of resources.. Again, somewhat established, no enemy encountered, several lore masters on the stones and several buffs-suddenly I can 't feed myself again with a bare minimum of people and with 2 fertile farms, 2 fisheries, one hunters hut, and several looted caches/ships/ruins, and im back to square one ON THE EASY LEVEL..So at this point im done, yup money is gone and its no longer worth dumping time into this. Now that being said. The game has several features that seem like decent points: -myriad of clans with different advantages and disadvantages, I mean ALLOT of different qualities-one of the major hooking points for me. -a storyline that mirrors several other past games,survive, build, outlast/build/produce the enemy -Custom game mode (tried it, still no joy) that allows you to customize the victory scenarios etc. -Several types of units, that are tailored to each clan, I liked this (or so I thought) because I felt like I could choose my advantages. -No real crashes or bugs I can attest to that seemed common on past reviews. -while the controls were somewhat straight forward the game did not have a definite tutorial for game play, once I got around that it was fine. Ok some points I did not like, ill start from the first play No tutorial-first info blurb on the screen?select the build icon-uuuh what? ok several different things on the screen, finally I chose the hammer looking thing however I had no idea what the screen information was, I had to tap and play around with it.. so in essence while it would say some hints on the screen, the info wasnt what I needed. no pause button, i mean no pause button so you can take stock in what is happening, so its all real time, pause it and you go to another screen, unhelpful. stats for a clan that meant nothing to me, 3 stars for learning how to use the unit? and support? support for what?? no idea-no tutorial to explain it and frankly im not looking to waste days of my life trying to intuit the meaning complexity of the controls (select/deselect etc.) and the inability to select units with a drag window or something, I dont want my entire army running all over the map, i understood the concept of battle groups but the ability to create them was not very well thought out imbalance of resources vs supply/unit production..to construct a woodcutters hut, 50 ish wood and the amount it produces is low, same for nearly each resource building vs allowed gains, ya you can add workers to increase production but its still low. happiness is a joke, I had breweries, lore units, buffs etc. and I could never get it above 6-8 and then it would crash again within a few minutes of gameplay..click on the face and it almost always said -xx population?? seriously, im spread out over half the map and theyre saying its over crowded?? no matter if I had upgraded houses or un maxed populations, still sucked-no matter how many buffs/happiness structures/people/resources I dumped into it, guaranteed negatives with double digits within a game, nearly always due to a starvation issue.. At first I thought it was the winter time but after some monitoring it just didnt make any sense..healers? nope. Trade? nope, better houses? oh after dumping all my stone/workers/wood into upgrades on 4 houses it raised it ONE point.. building an army..K one training camp gives you TWO units, ok sure some buffs increase that, but even then it might give you two more, so now I need to build more camps, and then build different camps to build different units..the amount of resources you dump into them is ridiculous.. Mining-everything in the upgrades REQUIRES STONE, guess what? no mines with stone in your area?? OH WELL S.T.B.Y.! there are metal mines and stone quarries, and oh ya! they dont last for more than 15-20 stone, couple that with it costs 6-10 stone to upgrade one building? ha good luck. There are a few more points, but since it wont let me write further ill stop. In short not worth my time trying to figure this out despite all the placations the devs will probably drop on this.
Love hate relationship
I love this game, but I’m so tired of the glitches. I play multiplayer with my kids against the AIs. We spend 3-4 hours playing, and then something happens, the game locks up, and that’s it. Sometimes it’s trying to sharp eye a zone, send the lightening with a relic, or just a really big battle with a lot of units. If you sit there, it’s just locked up indefinitely. If you swipe up, and come back in to the multi player menu, you have about a 25% chance that you can get back in. So pretty much every game one of us gets locked out and can’t finish the game.

Fun but really buggy
I’ve encountered the following issues with the game: 1. Game data file’s size is constantly growing, after initial 900mb it grew more than 3 GB and was continuing growing; 2. Restoring the save after reinstall and completing the mission doesn’t restore the position on the Story map, you’ll have to start the Story from the beginning. Considering this, I’ll not buy any of the in-apps until the above mentioned issues are fixed. Otherwise it’s a fun and a solid rts.

I adore this game but recently I’ve had issues with the game freezing when I get into playing single person mode. I’ll play for a bit, maybe 30-45 min, then the game will completely freeze and I’ll have to restart the app. Although the game auto saves, it never saves to where I was, which is really frustrating when I’m trying to make winning moves. I would give this game 5 stars if I didn’t have this issue!
Amazing
I love this game so much, I love playing the boar clan so much I haven’t played the other clans before tbh, it’s really fun I think there might be some kind of memory leak tho, because my iPad says that this app takes up 80 gigabytes…

Great game just a couple of bugs
This is one of the best games I have played it balances strategy with resource management perfectly and I have been playing it with friends and family for a long time. There’s one issue though. Whenever I try to go into story mode it lets me watch the prologue, but then it only allows me to rewatch it so I can’t continue in the story. I hope the amazing devs could figure this out and patch it.
Very buggy crashes
Game plays smooth but then it lags and crashes as the game progresses often. Then you're unable to rejoin your game just on the cusp of winning.
Was superb BUT latest update incompatible with my iPad
Regularly played & enjoyed this excellent strategy game based on Viking settlements & mythology. BUT updated and now the game crashes every 10 minutes making it unplayable. Developer please resolve this issue soonest!

Great game but constant crashes make unplayable
Fabulous iPad game, looks fantastic and hugely enjoyable to play. Sadly constant and consistent crashes on iPad ruin all the positives. Shouldn’t be available in App Store until fixes are made.

Can you fix the huge instability with unbalanced matchmaking 4 players choose random team and the game places 2 strong together and 2 weak together and this happens every time, plus can u make it less battery consuming one game takes all 100% of battery and make a friend list please so that we invite friends, the game is very interesting but these problems ruining the game

Keeps crashing
Great game but it keeps crashing, and now won’t load. I’ve deleted & reinstalled & it still won’t work. Unfortunate as the game had great potential
Why no mouse and keyboard support?
There’s so much micro management in the game it would be better to have mouse and keyboard support like most other games are developing now for iPad. Also, I have never uninstalled and reinstalled a game so much. It’s a love hate relationship with this one. Some clans are easy, others are suicidal. I thought the more military you have, the happier the wolf clan is. Doesn’t seem to be the case at all. Maybe it’s a bug? Great game otherwise, very addicting.

Why did I pay you?
Half of all the menu’s in the game don’t even fit into the screen or overlap with other menus which should have closed but didn’t. Absolutely no navigation to move them or close them except memory of where the exit button is “supposed” to be. Multiple examples of this just in the start menu. Come on guys.

Fun… and then crash
I’d been playing consistently over the last week with a few crashes, but last night it crashed and now the app just won’t open. It gets to the loading screen and automatically quits every time. I’ve updated the app, deleted and reinstalled, and updated my iPad with no luck.

Love it
This was exactly what I was looking for and it scratched that itch, great game, runs smooth. Fun story mode, I actually prefer the story mode, I wish they would add several stories to go through instead of just the one. But the online or single player sandbox is fun too.
It just keeps crashing
No idea what they did recently, but the app just keeps crashing. It actually even stays open in the background but quits almost immediately. I deleted it and reinstalled it and then I reset my phone- all to no avail. Game is pretty fun.

Great game but frustrating bugs
For over a year now the achievements has been broken in Jormur not unlocking and appearing in French rather than English, and number of victories not tracking and being stuck at 75%. More recently the profile also seems to have reset losing all progress in spite of achievements remaining in its same (glitched) state. It’s a shame as the game is fun and would otherwise be 5 star.
Great game but issues
Really good game but I agree on the bugs. It’s like I am playing single player mode and after a while my scouts give up exploring meaning that I cannot fully attack the enemy. I think it’s a good game and really keeps you on your toes. My favourite is the wolf clan.
