Love this
Great app. Just one bug I encountered: sometimes changing playback speed (especially to a lower speed than currently on) will garble audio and require an app reset. Occurs randomly and very rarely
Unusable, buggy, unmaintained
Seems to be unmaintained, has hundreds of open bugs in the bug tracker, most with no response. Also tries to try to download all the metadata from every song when you first set it up, which takes forever on large libraries and completely drains your battery even when you aren’t playing anythjng.
missing crossfade
i love this app but i can’t run this as my main app because it doesn’t support crossfade. probably not a big deal for some people but i neeeeeed crossfade :(

while i loved the app before, i think something with the new update broke the app for me. it’s extremely laggy, images will not load even after deleting all and redownloading all, duplicate album issues, to name a few. plus, worst of all and the thing to make me switch to another app; my phone has gotten VERY hot and the battery drains very quickly. restarting my phone seems to fix it, but i realized after looking at my battery log, it’s amperfy. while only being on screen for 1m and in background for 1h, it used 2x more battery than the apps i had open on screen for 1h. seriously what is happening? for now im switching to a new client until these issues are fixed im not trying to be harsh, just venting my issues! ** original review: finally made the switch to hosting my own music library using navidrome. of the few apps i tried, i like this one the most by far. there are a few minor bugs here and there, but i don’t have to pay for a service anymore which is amazing. i also love the new update with the theme colors. **
Great App!
I recently installed Jellyfin and then tried out the official app and Finamp. Both failed to work properly on my phone, with Finamp taking 10 seconds to open an album, and neither offered the ability to browse by folder. This app, combined with Navidrome, is so far working brilliantly! It’s incredibly responsive, highly customisable and does everything I need it to. Thank you! Update: I wish this app was more reliable. Whenever I play a new song that hasn’t already downloaded, it seems to fail to show the total time and then when I try to skip forward in time, it ends up just stopping playback. It also regularly “plays” silence if I quickly skip through songs. It’s so disappointing as it could be great.

Everything i’m looking for in a music player. The ui stutters quite a bit both on mobile and carplay, but other than that, I love it!

Really great!! But some CarPlay issues
I was looking for an app to talk to my personal music media system and came across this app! Crossed off every requirement I was looking for! Just to provide some feedback the CarPlay certainly acts buggy. I’ll hook up to my car and while it does appear, it does take a couple of attempts to open it in CarPlay as it seems to have a crashing issue. Don’t know if it’s because of my model car or phone, but just wanted to make note of it anyway. The rest of the time the app works perfectly, UI is nice and getting hooked up to the right source is not hard. I 100% understand that this app is not a professional app by company but is certainly well done! Thanks!
Ok but somewhat lacking
Unbelievably, this is the only application that works with Apple CarPlay. The major problem is there is no “Recently Played” album category, which is a major drawback. I wish it had this. If it did, I would give it five stars.
Good MacOS client, needs a couple things
So far this looks like a great client for my Navidrome server. The only complaints I have are that you can’t configure the cache location, and Airplay doesn’t work on MacOS. Changing to an Airplay target fails, and the music still comes out of the local device.
Five stars isn't enough
Fantastic music player to stream from Navidrome running on a Raspberry Pi. Super smooth, fast, and beautiful. I appreciate being able to add multiple IPs for the same server such that it can be reached from within and outside the local network.

Works Great
Really love this client, works perfectly with navidrome and has (mostly) all the features I’d want. Better CarPlay support would be nice, and I wish one-tap to play a song would work rather than needing to click the play button. Other than that, its really great
Good app minus quick access
Will give five stars once the playlist button is put on the main bottom menu so that i have easier access to playlists…Arpeggi is recommended for this quick access. That said Amperfy allows editing playlists on the fly so that’s a point for Amperfy…One of them will win out soon depending who makes changes.
Great Plug in Play Client
I have a Navidrome setup in my home network and I was looking for a good client for mobile. Amperfy is super straight forward and does a great job of being flexible and configurable while keeping the technical details squared away. I have been able to very quickly get other people in my house setup no problem and to them it feels like any other music app.
Not functional
Does not connect to any subsonic servers. Does not do what it says. App seems to have been abandoned by developer. Don’t waste your time.
Almost great!
Covers the basics well. I reallly wish it allowed a replaygain +/- preamp and (especially) allowed playback at the media’s native frequency instead of 44.1KHz always.
Has a 50/50 chance of working
50/50 chance the songs don’t display the length, hence no way to skip forward. Crashed while searching. Waited for background sync to complete and restarted the app. Doesn’t matter if playlist is downloaded or not.
Initial Review
First of all, thank you to the developers of this project for their hardwork. I quickly went through the process of connecting to my Navidrome server and want to share my experience. Hardware: I am using an iPhone 13 on ios 18. Review: Preface, I am on an earlier version of this app. Take my review with a grain of salt. That being said, this client does everything it needs to and well. This is a good, stable client for the majority of users and that is a good thing. It does however, make it a bit of a boring option when compared to alternatives offering more features. I would daily drive this app, and I wouldn’t mind recommending it to less technical users.

Very nice
This app is very well polished and feels good to use. After some time of not using Subsonic apps because of the inadequate CarPlay support, I thought I’d try again. Like before (maybe 2024) I couldn’t play anything with CarPlay. Now, music DOES play but it requires Siri to select any music. Unfortunately, it does not match names well so I can’t pick the music I want while driving. CarPlay is perhaps my number 1 use for a music player on my phone, so I can’t use this. That aside, everything else is well done and great quality
iCloud Storage Issues
All cached files are being included in my phone’s iCloud backup which is maxing out my cloud storage. Hopefully this will be fixed soon.

Update ruined it for me
I loved Amperfy, I have been using it for quite a while now to listen to music off my Navidrome server. It’s been great, the interface was clean and simple, and everything worked how I expected/wanted it to. Last night there was an update that I ran, and now this morning I see what it was. Now if I go to my albums and hit shuffle, it doesn’t just shuffle all my music like it has since forever, no, now it picks a random album and only plays music from that album. I had to add the Songs tab to my homepage and I have to shuffle everything from there. Also the playback menu has changed and has way more unnecessary buttons and things I never asked for nor cared to have. I thought Amperfy was going to be my sole music app for my phone, now I guess I have to start looking for a new one. Maybe I’ll just go back to Plexamp.
Equilizer needed
The app is good only missing equalizer please.
Doesn’t work for any codec not compatible with iOS
It doesn’t trigger the transcode on the server side (at least not in navidrome), so if you got a codec not compatible with iOS, it won’t ask the server to transcode, and you won’t be able to listen to that song Other apps work, so it’s just the way this app handles the request That said, this app is wayyy more polished and looks way better than most subsonic apps there (and allows for song list, many subsonic apps show just albums and artists) Would be good to have the app ask the server to change the codec on the fly to mp3/flac so iOS can play it… And would be awesome to get support for the radio stations already set up on the server Edit: CarPlay just shows recently added songs/artists/albums and favorite songs/artists/albums but there isn’t a way to see all your collection
Can’t say enough praise
From one developer to another, your work is amazing. I honestly have zero complaints about this app. Such a beautiful and functional app. You should add a donate button or something in the app. I couldn’t find one
Not built for scale
I had high hopes for Amperfy, it was the cleanest looking subsonic client app I’ve come across on iPhone, but it is completely useless with the size of my library (70-80 TB) Even after background sync reached 100% (which took a couple days), the app is unusable with every tap taking 15+ seconds to respond. Running on newest iPhone and iOS, Navidrome
Great
Great software. Improvements are constantly being made. Amperfy feels like a very good iOS citizen. The interface is straightforward and easy to navigate. It easily surpasses Apple’s own Music imo. All issues I’ve encountered are relatively minor.

Just what I needed
Fast and responsive FLAC gapless playback from my home server running Airsonic 💪 thanks for this! One downside others should be aware of is the lack of Chromecast support, but this is not needed in my case.
Takes an hour to sync with server
And even then it only retrieved details on roughly 20 out of a few hundred albums.
Very solid app
I use this to stream from Navidrome to my phone. For some reason it has trouble showing album art properly and I’ve adjusted the settings to every configuration. Also I would really like a random sort option, I use that mainly of my desktop player
Technisch ok, UI/UX fragwürdig
Anders als andere Apps funktioniert diese auf Anhieb mit einer lokalen Navidrome-Installation. Das Nutzungserlebnis hält sich allerdings überaus in Grenzen. Der Aufbau ist spartanisch, die Cover-Ansicht in der Abspielkarte ist verzogen und von niedriger Auflösung, ebenso praktisch alle Icons. Insgesamt wirkt dies wie eine gut gemeinte App eines Entwicklers ohne jede UI/UX-Erfahrung und/oder Interesse daran. Es scheint weiterhin ein unlösbares Problem zu sein, einen einfachen, sauber und elegant entworfenen Musikplayer zu bauen. Alles, was notwendig wäre: eine nahezu 1:1 Kopie der iTunes App von iOS 1.x. Insgesamt leider enttäuschend. Diese App könnte mit einer vernünftigen Oberfläche so viel mehr sein, denn die technische Seite funktioniert reibungslos.
Shocking it’s free.
I’ve been using this app on macOS and iOS with a Gonic backend and everything has mostly gone very smooth. There’s a few oddities on macOS - but - on iOS it’s flawless for me. Streams my ALAC library without issue. Transcoding at times can be slow to start but that’s more due to the potato $2/m pod I run it on than anything. Thank you!!
App don’t start then update
After update to the last version in IOS 12.51, the app never start , show logo and nothing else.
Disable podcasts
Is there a way to disable or hide the podcasts button in a Percy? I don’t have any podcasts in my collection. Otherwise, the app seems pretty slick so far for playing from a navidrome server.
Good app but heavy on battery.
Works well with CarPlay but chews through battery if not on charge during use.

Nice but lacking and confusing sometimes.
The app itself works great. But some things just really feel out of place: I don’t need a sleep timer or playback speed buttons on the player screen. Also the player screen has two separate ••• menus. There’s a music note button on the player as well which switches to a podcast mode?? Why? Plus no support for lyrics, when synchronized lyrics are really easy to get on your server now. Some form of smart playlists would be a nice perk too. I’ll definitely be keeping my eye on this one, but it’s not quite there yet.
