ServerCat - SSH Terminal reviews
4.7 out of 5, based on 4,291 reviews.
What people like
- Clean interface with great server stats
- Lifetime purchase option available and cheap
- Easy to configure for quick access
What they complain about
- SSH terminal is locked behind paywall
- No built-in file manager or SFTP
- App crashes frequently on iOS 18
- Developer ignores bug reports and emails
Everything works great — really convenient app! 👍
It would be perfect if you could add a built-in file manager for servers, allowing users to browse files and folders, upload/download files, and, if possible, edit text files directly in ServerCat. That would make the app almost all-in-one for server management.
The app still has the same error as 3 years ago
Even when you log out and log back in, the session freezes and you have to close the app to continue. The app really doesn't work smoothly, which makes the work extremely cumbersome.
sftp file supported
Server file management is not supported. Only shell
Recent UI Changes
Was a great app until recent UI changes removed dedicated copy/paste buttons and made navigation very clunky
Unstable on iphone 13
Cant get the UI to work withiut crashing in iPhone 13
Great but needs qol updates
A lot of functionality you would expect from a modern ssh client is not here. Crashes a lot
Some functions damaged,
e.g. upload/download icon, snippets editing. Btw, why not go to face unlocking directly instead of show a unclocking button when the app starts.
Love it
Works great and easily connect to a number of servers. Copying text or urls could be better.
bad application
The account verification page pops up every few days, even though the account ID hasn't changed at all, and the feedback to the author doesn't result in any modifications. It's extremely, extremely bad.
Fantastic but missing one feature
Fantastic app, but just missing the ability to copy text from it on MacOS. This is the last killer feature I need for debugging, since I will be talking to AI to diagnose problems with my servers a LOT
Feels like a forced upsell
Describing itself as a ‘SSH Terminal’ application, only to lock said functionality behind a paywall seems rather dumb. Don’t want to pay? All you get is some status ‘widgets’, that is literally it.
Help, please
Hi. Sorry to leave this as a review but I’m evaluating ServerCat on the free trial and am unable to add my own servers. Reporting a quality issue through the App Store is not enabled so have resorted to this. When I try to add my own servers to the app I get an error ‘The model configuration used to open the store is incompatible with the one that was used to create the store.’ App version is 1.14(498) and I’m running it on an iPad Air (5th generation), model MM713B/A, running iPadOS 18.3 (22D63). I’d appreciate any he you can offer with this blocking issue. 100% repeatable on first run of the app and after force quitting and relaunching. Have not tried rebooting iPad at time of writing.
If you manage multiple devices, you need this app - now with support for macOS!
I’ve been a fan of ServerCat for a long time. It’s a fantastic tool for monitoring *NIX hosts, and with support for ssh keys and a built-in ssh client, it provides a frictionless monitor to manage cycle. In fact, my only complaint was that macOS wasn’t supported (understandable, since it requires a fundamentally different monitoring mechanism). That’s changed with this most recent release. macOS is now supported! Outstanding work ServerCat team. Thanks for continuing to support and improve the app. Six stars!
Fraudulent
Fraudulent
No Keychain Sync for passwords
The only thing that can be an improvement is when i change my password in keychain, i have to manually go into ALL of my hosts and manaully select the new password, there is NO SYNC between the keychain password
Limited
It says SSH terminal, except the terminal capability is exclusively a premium limited feature. Also, the server status dumps with graphs and numbers seem perfect as widgets, so why aren’t they home-screen widgets? Seems like a missed opportunity.
This update ssh do not work
Ssh connection do not work
Some issues still
Betrug mit Abo
Sie täuschen mit dem Probeabo. Es ist nicht als „Server-Cat“ erkennbar.
Would be great…
If this had more or even the correct primary Ethernet for servers with multiple interfaces it would help. It simply doesn’t capture correct network interface transfer rates from what I’m seeing.
Outstanding
The best free terminal tool out there and best bang for your buck premium terminal out there, the developer is always upgrading and improving the app I recommended to everybody
Always crash
Always crash on ubuntu!! Once I use vim and slide fast, it will freeze then crash.
Used to be the best
But now it constantly crashes. Dev apparently devoted his effort to something else. Wish him the best of luck.
Love it!
I love this app! Clean, easy to configure, and it allows for such quick access and the snippets make for easy manual maintenance, if needed. Can’t recommend it enough!
Error, unable to use
Help, no apparent developer contact. Getting error when trying to add server or SSH key. “Error The model configuration used to open the store is incompatible with the one that was used to create the store.”
Overall very nice tool
Very nice tool and I enjoy using it. Only issue is if I reopen the app after a period of time, it will not update the server stats/data again until I kill and reopen the app
Solid app, annoying ios pop-up
I love this app, works great. I shut down of my servers though, and after removing it in settings I still get a pop-up saying “cannot verify server identity”. The pop—up isn't even in the app it's anywhere anytime. I tap on details and go through settings and I cannot find how to delete the server that's not even available anymore!
Excellent, quick and easy.
I have all kinds of monitoring set up, but just as the application describes, sometimes you just want quick and easy. This is just that. Would love to have some sort of organization for the servers (ie. Folders for them), but not a deal breaker. Excellent.
App crashes when loading Pods
Sent numerous email to report bug but no response. App keeps crashing on iOS 18.
Great app but need widgets
..
Servers and keys do not sync
Installing this app in is 18 died not sync servers or jets and instead leaves you with the demo server entry. The app is unpractical to use in this state, no matter gore fix the other features are.
Beautiful app for checking stats
Gorgeous UI for viewing stats at a glance, though I feel that at least the SSH terminal should be free? Or even just limit 20 commands per session or something. Probably won’t leave this installed very long
Great app
Love a lifetime option. Does exactly what I need it to. Some widgets and lock screen toggles would be incredible. And Darwin support
It doesn't work.
It doesn't work.
Great but can be so much more
It's ironic that the system this app runs on does not details. It shows all system info for Linux boxes but not for Mac. I know that /proc is not supported on mac but there are alternative ways like using sysctl etc. I wouldn't even mind having an option to install something on my Mac Minis so i can monitor them. App looks abandoned and no new features are coming out.
Bad marketing
So close…
This app is excellent, and has been a key part in being able to transition my workflow to an iPadPro. However, it would be really great to be able to open multiple ssh sessions with a single host. Currently I have to either use linux screen or a different app to have multiple sessions, which is less than ideal.
Elegant APP for monitoring Linux servers!
I really like it. Thanks a lot!
🌶🐔
No sftp
Amazing app
I love this app so much, it works perfectly I just wish there were widgets for server stats and more comprehensive docker management tools.

13 pro v16.7
Great, but ugly icon
Disappointed to see the very minimalistic and elegant icon being changed for something that feels outdated and cheap. My Home Screen is gross now. Aside from this, everything just works and the UI is very well polished. The free version has plenty of nice features without any ads or bloat. I would be happy to pay to for a front page widget showing server status and usage.
