What people like
- Great virtual keyboard for touch screens
- Simple and clean interface
- Works well on iPad
- Genuinely free with no ads
What they complain about
- Keyboard lacks an Esc key
- Users fear credential theft
- Connection drops unexpectedly
- Screen scrolls up when keyboard opens
Worked great
SSH to Linux servers from your phone, super convenient.
Tiny but useful
I like it small, and it just works. What else do you want?
I can’t get connection
Why do my servers don’t work (why no connect?)
Bugs that will not let me hide the virtual keyboard.
Been using the app for a few years now since I started with a raspberry pi 3B+. Now I’m managing like 3 Debian boxes. Like the title states. There is a bug that’s preventing the on screen keyboard from minimizing because once I’m connected I can’t use the Servers/terminal/Settings tab. Hope the developer fix it soon or is it a feature? ;)
It’s a Terminal
I love being able to use terminal on my iPad. It only makes sense. Although I wish I could use copy past a bit more cleanly.
It’s NOT Free
Don’t download and install. Because it’s not free. And don’t work
Pretty good, but have a bug once in a while
Works pretty reliable but ios likes to kill app in background so you have to keep it in slide over. Also nano utill sometimes gets bugged, mixing strings together.
Somewhat useful
This app will connect you to an SSH server and let you type in commands but the keyboard has no ESC key, making it useless for many purposes, such as full screen editing of files using things like vi.
Fast, Secure, Efficient & Simple SSH
Well done, and works flawlessly on iPad Pro. Great virtual KB, but even better with magic KB.
Do not install
Violates privacy law
Does just what is needed
SSH just as needed. Only bug is opening a long file in nano, scrolling down then scrolling up again the display of lines becomes all scrambled and uneditable.
Good App
This app is exactly what I was looking for but I have one server that has a 2FA logon and I can’t seem to connect to that server with this app. All other connections work fine.
Simple and good
Has everything you need without any bs. Perfect ssh client on the go.
Trash
Login credentials stored in app
This app works well and is genuinely free (no in-app purchases or advertising). My only issue is that it requires you to enter the server login credentials in the server settings; there is no option for entering the password each time. I feel that this could be a security issue for some users. It relies on users keeping their device secure and also trusting the app not to be maliciously leaking the credentials to the developers or others. I’m only using it to access devices on my local network so it’s not too much of a concern - the credentials are useless to anyone else and can’t be used if not on my network. Maybe I have missed something, if so I welcome correction.
Great stuff
Just get this one.
DO NOT USE
These developers will steal your SSH credentials and remotely access your machines! After using this app I saw putty SSH traffic to random IPs in Asian countries — I had to have my ISP change my public IP and switched to key-based authentication because they stole my login. DO NOT USE THIS APP
The first time it worked but now it’s not letting me go into my server
No
Everything you need and no bs
The best part is that it has the ctrl button for key combinations needed to switch between Ai agents in the tmux terminal that I remote in to. I love it and the fact that in the iPad I can use it along an RDP app or another ssh client. It has all you need to develop your apps while on the road.
Always Fails to Open Session
Much like another reviewer I have never gotten mine to work even though other apps configured the same way with the same keys work fine. The support button in the app is also blank unfortunately.
On screen keyboard ruins ANSI line addressing
Invoking the on-screen iPad keyboard causes the display to be scrolled up, but my app continues to update the display using line addressing, resulting in chaos. Ideally Terminal would continue to honour the original screen and restore it when the keyboard is retracted. Alternatively the screen would not be scrolled up and the keyboard simply obscure part of the screen. Is it possible to include one of these options ? Maybe a simple “scroll lock” switch ?
Need nerds font
I would love to see a nerds font to be able to code with my nvim NvChad config.
Unexpected early escape
"Connection closed " hapoens too early and unexpectedly.
Works exactly as it says!
This app functions perfectly and I haven’t had any issues with instability.
Could not even connect
:(. Tried with password and also with private key. Validated they work on other SSH App on the same iPad.
Very good
This app ticks all the boxes for me. Modest size, clutter free, flexible password management and, tada, most importantly, a really well thought out touch screen keyboard that understands the SSH user. Bravo. 2 suggestions: Please add a virtual return key to the function button keyboard as this greatly improves usability with mc ( midnight commander). Add the option to purchase a permanent license? Fix it to a specific major version so continual updates etc can be ignored? Great work and thanks for listening.
Bug report
The Best
An essential utility for professionals and very well implemented. No weird stuff, just a good keyboard, printer, and a simple UI for configuring ssh server connections. I haven’t done it yet, but I imagine it could even work with local hosts. That would make the iPhone a real computer! Very happy.
Doesn’t work
It started file on first attempt, I was able to add login details and could also login to the device, after closing and reopening the app it did not open. I have no idea do I installed it. When app does that i don't feel safe to trust such app with my device login credentials.
No Esc key
Works, but there’s no Esc key.
Perfect
Works perfectly. Easy terminal access to everything on the network from my phone!
Esc keyboard not supported
next support?
Good. Could be better.
Works good. Text editor in Linux is useless though.
