Best in its class, can't live without it now
Blink Classic No Longer Option - NO FREE TRIAL
Well it seems they’ve done it.. what was a good app, but now they have ceased offering people a free version, and not allowing people to freely trial… it’s the old,.. free for now, but if you forget you get billed !!! money grab!! Ok… let’s move to the next one…
Promising but…
I planned to develop using Blink and Gitpod, but after a couple of hours finding the way to make it work, I gave up. It seems not really be a smooth integration. Hopefully there was a one week trial period. I haven’t dig deeper in the tool and I am not sure to switch to the build+code version they provide which is quite expensive.
Seems good - and Tailscale authentication works now
Works nicely with Tailscale. Neat little notifier shows up, and puts me into browser to authenticate. Excellent tool!
Instantly crashes on AVP
Install app, restore purchase, and it crashes. On next launch, crashes instantly. Deleting app and trying again gives same result. Tried with visionOS 1.x and 2.x beta.
The best in class
Stop looking! You've found the only terminal app you'll need.
Ripoff
I opened Blink after more than a year to find that it’s no longer supported and that I have to download and pay for a new one. Migration should have been automatic. You shouldn’t claim that you care about old uses. What a ripoff!
My most used iOS app
I've tried most of the other iOS terminal emulators and Blink hits the sweet spot of having both good functionality and extensibility. I like that it supports custom colour schemes and fonts and integrates nicely with Shortcuts via X-Callback-URL.
Used to be good
Used to be a good app, paid for it, and now it is bloated subscription scamware.
Upgrade from Blink 14 is perfect
Thank you for having the Blink Classic Plan. Shows you care about your users.
Force upgrade
After opening the app, now forced to purchase a subscription. Where is the free blink shell without the extra features. Maybe a close button for subscription screen is missing? Can’t get rid of it and so now I can’t use the app. I can’t justify paying the high price that is asked when a laptop provides a better experience anyway. Going to uninstall.
Great VS Code Editor & connection with home server
I have really enjoyed ssh'ing into my home server and coding with VS Code using Blink over the last month! Setting up a ssh host is super easy by just typing a `config` command and adding some Tailscale (or similar service) details. Connecting into the Files App works flawlessly, especially the VS code context menu shortcut Blink creates. Then the VS code experience is full screen, fast, almost all shortcuts work on iPad or even iPhone, to the point where I feel I don't need a mouse, a few occasional taps on-screen is enough to code. Although I have found several extensions & markdown preview support patchy, and although the default VS code resolution is good, scaling doesn't work. The layout of the onscreen keyboard is great as well!
Another Rundle nonsense
Good grief, if you have the old version do not download this nas it’s a Nagware Rundle. Absolute garbage Forces to upgrade. Lost all keys, configuration and settings. This is not a trivial matter.
The best terminal emulator on iOS.
I use it on my iPad Pro to connect via mosh remotely for my daily work.
Paid for the app for lifetime and now have to pay again??
I paid for the app in 2020 where it was advertised lifetime access to the app. Suddenly my app payment disappeared, cannot restore the purchase. And they force to install Blink+ or Blink+Build. You guys changed the pricing model but at least, respect your existing clients and contracts. This is unacceptable.
makes me sad
when it was free, the dev would make you do weird stuff like shake your phone desperately so you could use ssh to do an emergency server reboot. now it just asks for money. my brother in christ, it's a terminal, please join us on earth.
Incapable
Ne sont pas capables de laisser une formule gratuite sur leur application et force un passage sur l’offre payante, inacceptable pour une application qui se dit open source.
Not free to use
What’s the point of not having a price tag at this point?
