Great App
I love being able to do code reviews on the go! Wonderful app.
Bad
Why I need to pay for the opportunity to attach repo to every folder I want? Disgusting.
Goud
Nice
Nice-ish app with buggy features (AI slop?) Rebase support incomplete.
It's a promising app with some nice aspects, the basic clone+view+navigate+iosFolder integration is mostly very nice, I can see why so many people recommend it; but despite the docs suggesting that there's rebase support, it is only for pulls, and not against SHA/Branch - which makes fixing bad merge/rebase resolutions impossible. NB: the user-docs do clarify that rebase is a pro+pull switch, the main page suggests full rebase support. Also there's no abort-merge, abort-rebase (from pull), reset --hard <custom-sha>, etc.. The premium price would be very worth it with these. It would be possible to live with the above but the current version's conflict resolve is very buggy; if I want to discard the upstream patch and there's no way to restart the merge/rebase/pull once it's been cancelled. Or at least I gave up before I worked out what I was missing. Also, worryingly, the resolve UI's status bar floats during resolve, obscuring text - clearly not a well human-attended/maintained/tested feature - that said the underlying principle of dragging-in/out patches is an absolutely genius idea on mobile, hence two stars instead of zero. Finding and accessing the repo's settings is non intuitive. "Revert" seems to actually hard reset which is incorrect semantics. Correct terms in git-cli are: "revert" does inverse-apply-commit, "restore" does discard changes, "reset" does discard changes and move to sha. The iconography and colouring are a bit weird at times; what's yellow/red green mean during commits/conflicts? why a fingerprint? etc. Overall feels like the UX is sloppy and unclear, and feels like either it's been badly thought through to get to MVP/POC/ROI, or it's been vibe coded - the latter is more likely having read the various articles about it and looked at the ai-features in it. NB: Nothing wrong with using AI Agentic dev; I train LLMs and use AI for dev, *a lot*. We just need to be super diligent act like a engineering manager/SRE over our agents/teams... for now. i'll stick with iSH for now, even though it's v slow for git on decent sized repos.
Pricy
Clearly a labor of love but be careful of the pricing model. $25 and you get updates for 12 months, then it's another $15. I've also run into bugs where i couldn't restore changes. I ended up just creating a new branch and committing, but this feels like a core piece of functionality. To be fair, Anders was responsive.
OPTIONAL? MUST HAVE!
¡!
Scam !!! Push = 35€
Don’t believe the botted reviews, you cant even push without paying 35€. The Free trail mysteriously fails due to having „no valid payment“ (even tho i just paid with apple pay in another app)….
Gut
Ziemlich gutes Tool um Git Projekte auf iOS zu bearbeiten.
К сожалению плохо
Слишком загнутые цены, я лучше воспользуюсь компьютером чем буду платить за очевидно простые функции
Mediocre, secretive
i personally had a bad experience, the app was monitoring me and my work
Reliable with my Ipad
Really simplifies my web developement for HUGO
iOS 26 rewrite was a mistake
Numerous display and layout glitches such as the sidebar conflicting with the bottom controls in portrait mode, controls floating over and obscuring content in frustrating ways, only showing first two character of file names followed by ellipses, unreadable dark theme, etc. This tool is much more cumbersome to use now, it's a confusing ill-behaved mess.
Acknowledge
I’m enjoying but would love the service on free plan
And adequate app, but would having some text on the icons be that much more difficult?
I appreciate that it can take time to add translations for a large amount of languages, but it was extremely frustrating (even as a native English speaker) trying to decipher the frankly obtuse amount of pictograms in order to work out what they represented - some of which were easy to understand, but others less so. For an app that wants a not insignificant sum to unlock pro features, I think that's pretty unforgivable. I appreciate that over time this would become second nature, but I shouldn't have to spend my first time with a new git client with trial and error. Simple (even toggleable) text underneath each icon would be a lifesaver. Or even a long-press on the icon to reveal its function. It's easy when you've spent time using the app to go "Well clearly that icon is a push and that one is a fetch", but looking at it with fresh eyes as i've done, it's not that obvious, and that makes the app more frustrating to use.
Hello
Authentication(login stuff) does not work It just repeats over and over.
Useful and resourceful
Definitely an easy way to help between your phone in your computer to share
Push to remote now paid - terrible value
The gull to remove such a fundamental feature from the app is astonishing. I hope no one pays for this
High functionality
It has a huge number of great features and integrations. I would just hope for the addition of terminal one day.
No support for client certificates over https
Can’t access corporate repos due to client certificates, which are loaded in the iPad but app won’t see or use them.
Life time licence
Great app, seems to be the most polished git client out there. Unfortunately even the Pro Unlock isn’t permanent. According to the app the purchase will only work for 12 months. I kinda understand the need for the devs to do that but I rather prefer to paid more for a life time license. I always paid for lifetime license and this new monthly / annual subscription isn’t for me.
Amazing for a Novice User
I’m a coder in my free time after my 9-to-5, so my Git usage is minimal. That being said, Working Copy is amazing for everything I need to do code on-the-go.
Push costs 25 €
Push is a pro feature and thus costs you 25 €. It is mentioned that push is a pro feature in the last paragraph, but seems too absurd. But yes, if you want to push you are asked to pay 25 €. The price is probably ok, if you use all the features and know it beforehand, but if you set up your repos, edit some files and then asked to pay that amount of money when you want to push, I‘m quite disappointed.
Good Software but I miss a read only mode
I usually use the app to review my projects. I never want make any changes on my iPad. What I really miss is a read only mode. So no editing, just viewing. Unfortunately every time I click into the source window the keyboard pops up. That‘s a bit annoying. But beside this the app is nearly perfect… 👍
“Free” until you push
The free version lets you clone and edit files which is good and all, but the moment you need to push you’ve a paywall in your face. I’m all for developers making a living but maybe let your users know that pushing is a paid feature before you go and surprise them with a £30 fee? If you want to level with your customer base don’t do scummy practices.
Looks good, missing large feature
The app looks and feels very good. But as far as I can see It doesn’t let you review PR’s.
Super Helpful!
I run my own Gitea server and this apps is the PERFECT companion for making quick edits or code reviews!
Don’t buy! Won’t return my money
Downloaded the pro to test something out. The test failed. Initiated refund and return within 4 business days. App Store says its not eligible for refund. At this point its just a money grabbing operation. I’m unclear if the dev is aware of this but this entire situation is just pathetic. I’m borderline sure they will also say that -“”oh this is buyers’ remorse “” at this point of time. Well I do have remorse that I could trust this app and the App Store.
Looks good, but requires pro to even push, so free is nearly useless
The app loos good and can be quite useful, but the „one repository“ promise of the free version is not 100% treu, as one cannot push, so it is actually a 1/2 a repository for free ;) Before I pay €20+ for the pro I need to see all the workflows, so w/o push I can‘t. Ten days free isn‘t helping me, as I have a busy life and cannot commit to 10 days of properly trying. The commercial model is greedy and thus blocking a proper trial. What bad can happen w/ allowing one repository push for free? You will gain a huge free community, the app will become immensely popular and those who want more than one repository will gladly paid. All-in-all, disappointing.
I have to reclone every repo every time I format the iPad or sync to a new iPad
I have a large list of repositories and I tend to move cell phones quite often. Every time I install WorkingCopy I have to reclone all repositories every single time. What’s the point of iCloud Sync? There seems to be no way around this. Can you please help with this, I will be glad to change my review and update ratings. The app is amazing, except this one obviously huge limitation.
Pus payant
Obliger de payer pour push. A part ça tout est ok.
Hellacious
Fantastic
Ugh
Extremely confusing UI/UX and required subscription to push to remote repo.
incredibly buggy
super clunky UI, needs usability fixes, many features missing. Fetching and pulling from large repositories leads to progress bars stuck with no explanation. Hiding the logs view doesn't remove it from the screen, but sticks it at the top as a an unreadable line of 5 pixels height at the top.
Great app, but £18 is too much
I’ve been using this app for perhaps a year now, and since then it has been free to stage commits from my iPad, absolutely no problem! The app is clear and intuitive, buttery smooth to use, and integrates very well with the iPad, so normally I would recommend it to anyone who intends to write code on the go. But recently they’ve decided to charge £18 for a feature set that used to be free, and so now I’ve unsuspectingly started a new project on my iPad, thinking that I can just send it to GitHub, but now there’s a paywall out of nowhere. It frustrates me when developers do this. I understand that there has to be some give and take between the developer and the end user, but not like this. It’s the same feeling as receiving a present, only to find 6 months down the line that you now have to either pay for it or return it. If it were slightly cheaper (say £4.99), was crowdfunded like some other programming apps or the developer decided to place ads within the app, I could accept it, but a full £18 is past the threshold for me, so unfortunately I will not be using this app any more.
使いやすいけどよく落ちる
commitの量が多いと落ちることが多いですので、そこが直れば問題なし。使用感は良好です。
Org-mode Essential
All my org-mode files are way more accessible with paid version, git repo in files app takes the cake.
Cloning is disabled
My impression of the free app is that it’s basically useless. I won’t waste my time figuring out whether to buy the paid app.
Update
Can you update it for current version of iOS
Great app, but it’s not really free
This app has a lot to offer, really pleased and very well made, However in order to push commits you need to pay after your allotted trial. I have no problem with you wanting to have a “try before you buy” app, but it’s not immediately obvious that you need to pay in order to get the ultimate functionality of pushing your changes. It’s a good job I had the option to trial for 10 more days otherwise I would have wasted quite a bit of time with my commits. That’s the reason why it’s 2 stars.
The Most Important App I’ve Ever Owned
Working Copy is just a godsend for being able to use git with virtually anything, and use GitHub (or whatever you want) to make your code both available and safely stored. I switch devices. I don’t worry about backups. I can have multiple AIs working in different branches, while I do the same. It all comes together seamlessly because Working Copy just does it all, and does it with a great interface and reliability. More than worth the money.
Buggy and expensive
When copying files, they randomly go into a new directory, sometimes says files to be committed when there aren’t any, diff doesn’t show old file names (when renaming a file). Better off using a laptop and free native IDE’s/ github. too expensive for what is a very basic tool.
suggestion
It is very nice app! I think it is the best git client of all for iOS. But, I want a function. This is "show changing status with line number on editor screen" like atom editor. If you add this function, this app being perfect git client!
Git management is disappointing
tl;dr: Bought this app more than a year and the UI still confuses me. I tried to use this on simple git repository, git repositories with submodules. The user experience to control git is very confusing even for small tasks (git reset hard, git pull --rebase, ...). Not sure all these basic tasks are eevn available until I pay more. The editor integration is really nice though. But in the end if I can't control git the way I want (need) without messing the history I won't use working copy. Instead accessing a distant shell has better results, and I can the editors I'am used in my laptops.
Wow
Does everything I need and then some. Believe the hype
It’s crapware
It’s one of those programs that’s free to edit your files, but has a pro feature “save files” that exploits the loss aversion fallacy. Even though I may have considered purchasing a program that charged the full price upfront, I would like the developer to know that such exploits are immoral. I’m quite sure that you’d not like to be on the receiving end. So here you go. Edit: the developer’s claim that there are no people that regretted the purchase is highly exaggerated. Look closely, ther are multiple people that requested refunds, on this very page. As for whether this is fair. An Apple dev account costs money, so it’s natural that you try to monetise your app. I don’t take issue with this not being a free application. I take issue with this advertisement, a shareware or a lite version not being clearly labelled as such. Why one star? I’m a stupid person, I saw an application, it didn’t say lite, didn’t say trial, didn’t even say it had in app purchases. I clicked on it and the app doesn’t do what I want it to do. I can’t edit a file and commit the changes. It doesn’t do what it advertises. I would give it zero stars if it were possible. It’s worse than non-functional, it wasted SSD space on my iPad, and my valuable time. I guess I should be thankful (to Apple) that you’re not allowed to install viruses. I’m sorry, but I did into so-called free applications, and I punish developers that have no regard for honesty.
It is a good git client.
Probably the only git client that works properly with ios. However, it does not support git lfs. On a corresponding day, I will make a star 5.
14€ pour pouvoir pusher
Ils ont oublier de mentionner que pour pusher il faut payer 14€ Non mais sérieux à quoi sert cette appli si on peut voir/éditer et faire des commit qu'on ne peux pas les pusher !???????????
