Idea: Off/On peak Notifications
Happy with the PGE app, I just wish there was a way to enable push notifications for when I’m on and off peak, so I know when and when not to run the dishwasher, vacuum, stereo etc.
App dysfunctional
App worked ok for a while, but over the past month or so it’s only shown information from 2024, saying stuff like “all up to date! Last paid bill of $xx.xx on 1/1/2024” and only showing usage from 2024
Apparently, the app was updated.
My phone broke two days ago. I got a new phone yesterday and today i try to see what my bill is and completely new format and I can’t see the important stuff I need to see.
Works better now
Wow I can login. This is a great start.
It accept my money.
It doesn’t have to be pretty!! Just has to work.
Update
I like to check my usage of costs every couple of days but since the update it isn’t showing current information on the usage so now it sucks!
App works until it doesn’t
The app isn’t great but lately it won’t even open so I can pay my bill. It lets me log in, but then just shows the stupid little lightning bolt loading screen and never gets in to the actual app. You’d think with them raising the rates even higher that they could afford to make a decent app.
PGE could do better
I’ve been using the web interface, but downloaded the app when installing a new thermostat. It seems to have all the functions I use on the web, but with really long wait times when going from one function to another. I think I’ll stay with the web.

Hot garbage
We can log in via web. But the app doesn’t accept our credentials. When we use guest option it throws errors. This thing works so poorly, one has to ask, why does PGE even bother? As a software engineer I’d be embarrassed to release any program this bad. 100% unusable.
No longer opens just crashes
App used to work but even after deleting and reinstalling it just crashes when launching.
Removed a useful feature (FP auth)
This app generally works well to pay my bill and to get updates on outage info, unfortunately in the latest release of the app they removed the fingerprint authentication feature, making Face ID the only automatic authentication option. For those of us who still have fingerprint identification devices (eg iPhone SE) we have to resort to the old method of email and password to login. You should have considered your user base before completely removing a useful feature.

Updates, updates, updates
I try to go into this app once a month and it seems that there’s always an ‘update’ it forces me to make. I normally avoid updates in general since I know that there’s a good chance they screw something up, but this app forces you to make them. Shockingly, after I updated the app today it wouldn’t let me type in my password properly - not good. I won’t be using this app again. //// Review update: worst app ever. Just tried signing in again for the first time in months (of course I had to update the app first.) Asked me if I wanted a bunch of notifications — I don’t care, I just wanted to check something real quick. After I get through the tedious list of notifications, the app won’t load. Honestly stunning how bad of an app this is. I’ve used a lot of companies’ apps — this is the worst one. It hasn’t saved me time; it’s taken up my time
FaceID useless with SMS verification
So, I opted in to MFA auth which in this case means I get a text when logging into the website. That’s great but I already have FaceID set on this app but I am still prompted to use the code from the text. That’s not great. The app is fine otherwise.
App Broken
The app doesn’t work at all. It won’t let me sign in. Website isn’t even working correctly for my account. But I still get their emails updating me about my bill being due, though.

Energy usage charts are very useful. Haven’t been able to log in for days because ‘parsing error’.

This app is a buggy mess
It’s okay but not the best
The reason for the review is due to the lack of usage information that the application provides. For example, I live in an apartment and sometimes I like to turn on the heater or use some electrical appliances, but the biggest takeaway is no real time usage. I’m hoping PGE can find some way to do this for their consumers because PG&E, SDGE, and other places are able to do it.

Constant issues with internet and login. Maybe hire some folks that knows what they’re doing instead of more managers and mouth pieces

Version 9 UPDATE
The latest update broke the app. I can't see my payment history, the amount due for this month isn't displayed either, nothing at all. Even logging in is problematic: password autofill doesn't work because the entered email is immediately erased. But on the website everything works.
Useless
I have tried many times to login or register for a new account and after I put all my information, it says something about the system is not working. Try again later. Garbage.
Crashes
I enter my email address and password but when I hit Sign in the app crashes. I’ve redownloaded the app, I’ve restarted my phone but the issue remains.
