Terrible verification process and customer support
Very disappointing experience with Kraken Pro. The identity verification process simply does not work for me. Every time I click “Verify your identity,” the page loads and then sends me straight back to the same screen with no error message and no explanation. Because verification is stuck, I also can’t properly use deposit features. I contacted customer support and have now been waiting for 4 days without getting the issue resolved. For a company as large and established as Kraken, I expected a much more reliable website/app and significantly better customer support. A basic verification process should not be stuck in an endless loop, and customers should not have to wait days just to get help with an account issue. Kraken really needs to improve both its verification system and its support response times.

My Experience with Kraken – 12+ Days of Frozen Funds, No Transparency, and No Real Support
I decided to try Kraken because of its reputation. I completed full KYC verification, deposited funds, and everything initially seemed fine. To make sure withdrawals worked, I first withdrew a small amount of cryptocurrency to my wallet. The transaction was successful, so naturally I assumed everything was working correctly. Later, I needed to withdraw a larger amount of the same cryptocurrency to the exact same wallet address because I needed the funds for margin trading on another exchange. This time, however, the withdrawal was suddenly placed “On Hold.” I received an email saying that the withdrawal required manual review and that it could take up to 5 days. I waited. * 1 hour. * Several hours. * 1 day. * 5 days. * 10 days. * 12 days. Nothing happened. The worst part was that I couldn’t even contact a live support agent. My support tickets received no meaningful response, and I had no way to find out why my verified account and withdrawal had suddenly been blocked. I was willing to provide any additional documents or information if necessary, but nobody asked for anything. After nearly two weeks, I started searching Reddit for ways to contact Kraken because the normal support channels were getting me nowhere. Other users suggested posting publicly or contacting Kraken on X (Twitter), which is honestly not what anyone expects after trusting an exchange with their money. After contacting them on X, I was simply told they would “look into my ticket.” The next day, I received an email informing me that my account would be closed. No meaningful explanation was provided. Instead, I was instructed to: * convert my crypto into EUR, * withdraw it to a bank account, * and stop using the platform. My fee tier was also reset, meaning I had to pay additional trading fees just to comply with their instructions. After accepting the exchange-rate loss and paying extra trading fees, I attempted the required withdrawal… …and that withdrawal was placed “On Hold” as well. At that point, I genuinely couldn’t believe what was happening. This has been, by far, the worst customer support experience I’ve ever had with a cryptocurrency exchange. I’m not claiming that every user will have this experience, but this was mine: * Verified account. * Successful test withdrawal. * Larger withdrawal frozen. * More than 12 days waiting. * No meaningful communication. * Account closed without a clear explanation. * Forced currency conversion. * Extra fees. * Another withdrawal frozen. If you’re considering keeping significant funds on Kraken, I strongly recommend testing every important function before trusting the platform with money you may need urgently. Hopefully, nobody else has to go through what I experienced

Faille de sécurité - Aucune indemnisation
J'ai été victime d'un piratage début février sur mon compte Kraken, avec un vol de mes principales positions résultant en une perte de plus de 6 000 EUR sur mon portefeuille cryptos. Malgré l'authentification 2FA qui avait bien été activée, je n'ai reçu aucune demande d'autorisation concernant ce transfert qui pourtant portait sur une somme importante. J'ai contacté le support dans les minutes qui ont suivi, afin de bloquer les transactions et retraits. Après plusieurs semaines d'échanges avec le service support, j'ai pu récupérer l'accès au compte avec les fonctionnalités. Cependant, aucune indemnisation ne m'a été versée à ce jour, et la plateforme n'a pas été capable de me restituer les positions perdues, ni d'identifier la cause de ce vol. L'application est facile d'utilisation, fluide et propose de nombreuses fonctionnalités avec une large gamme de cryptomonnaies à des frais très compétitifs, mais Kraken a en ce qui me concerne manqué le coche en terme de sécurité et de service après-vente suite à l'incident dont j'ai été victime, et dont je suis le seul à supporter la lourde perte. Je n'ai eu aucun problème de ce type avec des services concurrents que j'utilise également.
IPad-Version?
App is nice and all but I‘d love to see a version optimized for iPad‘s or tablets in general.

Very expensive Kraken fees
I switched to Kraken platform long time ago because they were OK with their buy/sell/convert fees but not anymore. Today I converted 1000 USD to USDC and had to pay $10 Kraken fees. This is way too expensive. Will slowly quit and move to more affordable exchanges.

Leider ist die Oberfläche fürs iPad und iPhone etwas zu klein. Aber ansonsten, sehr übersichtliche und tolle App mit allen Funktionen.
Great when works

Wichtige Funktionen fehlen - Durchschnittspreis, G/V
Grundsätzlich ist die App gut aufgebaut und ist einfach zu bedienen. Was ich allerdings nicht verstehen kann, wie seit Jahren keine richtige Gewinn-/Verlustrechnung und der Durchschnittseinkaufspreis für meine Coins hier angezeigt werden. Das gilt für diese App als auch die normale Kraken Variante. Ein extra Tool oder händische Übernahme der Einkaufe in Excel muss hier selber vorgenommen werden. Eigentlich sollte das eine Grundanzeige/Funktion für jeden Broker/Börse sein. Wäre toll, wenn das schnellstmöglich in die Entwicklung kommt und bei einem der nächsten Updates erfolgt.

You have to have USD to buy long XXXUSD. They won’t just convert it for you. Can’t sell short unless you HAVE the crypto, and then your P&L would be in CRYPTO. Trash app for a trash country.

Feedback section screwed up so here it is
Why can’t a user withdraw cryptocurrency? My account already show as verified, 72 hours have passed. Now no where in the app or help it is mentioned that crypto withdrawal is not possible or restricted like this and this is the first red flag. The exchange is not consistent in keeping the functionality and documentation same to help a user. I can clearly see a future where i will be struggling to get other things sorted out. May be with more amount in hostage. This is clearly a symptom of that. I have used several other exchanges and have been using them for years now and I can definitely see this problem as clear as day. It should not be a mystery or i have to wait follow up with AI nonsense chat bots hours after hours not to get any proper answers. What I am referring is, if there is a restriction for such crypto withdrawals put that clearly at the right place. I use ios app, have you guys ever opened this feedback page ever in an ios app? Because this sucks to core. I’m struggling to find submit button after entering this much. This is the icing on the cake
Best Crypto Exchange and User-Interface but a Tablet-Version is absolutely needed.
This app has everything you need for a fully usable purchase and sale of cryptocurrencies. The user interface is logically structured, very easy to use and offers all important functions. Lately, I’ve noticed that the app doesn’t run stable on the iPad and constantly switches back and forth between the „Buy screen“ and the „Chart Overview“. A standalone app for the tablet would be desirable to be able to use Kraken in full screen size on the iPad. I know the Kraken desktop app, but I don’t want to be able to use my favorite exchange on my computer, but on my iPad and on the go.

They fit right in, with the current political climate and the individuals they’re lobbying. Closing down my account. E.G. breathless notifications (repeatedly) about ETH climbing this AM by 4+%, then 3+%. (Sep 29) Reality? Less than a 1% rise since midnight, and ~3.6% in 24 hours, currently trending back down. I can’t see any other reason to make it seem like ETH is exploding upward (which it isn’t), other than to prey on unrealistic retail investors. This isn’t the first time, either. I’ve repeatedly had notifications from Kraken about BTC, when it was rising in Aug, encouraging me to hop on the bandwagon. But we all know that’s not buying low, is it? And guess what happened? (I didn’t buy, incidentally.) That’s right, we plunged into Sep and the perfect world suddenly wasn’t anymore. Kraken are an example of what’s wrong with crypto, when theory meets reality.

Alles in allem Top. Vor allem dass lange Ladezeiten seit 2021 verringert wurden ist sehr schön. Leider ist alles auf englisch. Das wird spätestens dann zum Problem wenn man sich an den Support wenden möchte oder muss. Wobei der Support richtig schnell und hilfreich reagiert. Ich spreche von Minuten! Tolle Plattform und tolle App.
