The app was beautifuluntil devs decided to add tapo store to the dock. Revert it and make it functional app, not a sales app.
App has some issues currently
When sliding right to left and viewing different cameras the Preview thumbnail is showing the wrong camera until it loads, and never did that before. Also the app really needs a home button always visible, when you’re several looking at recordings and you want to get back to the front screen there’s no way to do that without pressing the back arrow several times You guys really need to work on changing the password on a camera, having to reset the camera requires physically on site, either have a pulldown menu of available networks or a field where you could type it in and the password and then hit save. Right now I have to reset three different cameras on site because the Wi-Fi name changed over to an IOT network
M2 MBAでは動かない
便利なアプリだが、M4 MBAでは動くが、何度OSをクリーンインストールしてもM2 MBAでは動かない。世代で動くか動かないあるので、MACではインストールできても動かないと思った方がいいかも

After recent app updates, it’s incredibly slow to connect to cameras and control them
App is bloated
The app takes 750MB of space, I’ve played top tier games that took less. Please point an AI to fix the mess of dependencies, half of the items can probably be plugged in/downloaded on demand, I can’t afford to own every tapo product anyway if that is the reason for the bloating. I like the app a lot but too big is too big.

App Constantly Requires Force Close/Restart to Reconnect to Devices
First time opening the app and viewing a camera works great. But if you leave the app and go back after 30 seconds, it can't reconnect to the camera or display another camera feed. Same goes for outlets and other devices. I have to force close the app and restart it to work. No settings help has resolved it.

Tapo C630とTapo H500を連携して利用していますが、最近動画とサムネイルがズレる現象が発生。 アプリの再インストール、カメラのリセット、再登録、H500のリセット、再登録しても改善せず… ハード側の問題なのか、アプリ側の問題なのかは不明ですが使い辛いけどです。
Deleting individual clips on C660
Although the app makes setup easy it doesn’t allow you to delete individual clips for the C660 camera. To delete them the card has to be reformatted. What is ridiculous is that using the same app for the TC74 individual clips can be deleted. That is poor. Reading other reviews it seems the developer does not respond.
Tapo lights
Tapo is perfect because I always lose remotes or use the wrong remote to the wrong device but Tapo is perfect because it can control numerous devices and has many creative colors and u can sync to music it’s perfect.
Almost 1GB app to press a switch
“RAM and storage crisis? What RAM and storage crisis” says TP-Link. Why an app to control some accessories requires almost an entire GB of storage on your device is beyond me. Well actually, it is probably because of the bloat they cram into this thing, so perhaps not beyond me after all. Don’t bother with this. Just use your smart devices in Apple Home or Home Assistant instead.
The ease of use and UI are fantastic
I have never had such an amazing experience setting up a new camera. The amount of features that the app provides is so simple. I installed the app logged into my tp-link account and in 20 minutes it was updated setup and running smoothly. Still learning the app controls for my model camera but impressed. My only issue is I had to lock the app with face id to make it run less in the background. The app even listened to my lock it runs only when launched and left running otherwise it is silent. Not even the tether app works as well as this. This app alone is a good reason to buy a tapo camera. So simple anyone could use it. I’m definitely investing in another camera that is more advanced because of the app.

Side Bar on iPad keeps appearing
Every time you close the app the side bar reappears. It’s unnecessary and sits over device tiles. Also needs the ability to delete sections on it. I don’t have, and never will have a robot vacuum yet there’s a section there for it constantly being show. Sidebar needs streamlining and permanently hiding until needed.

The app is great. The consumer privacy is pretty bad. The great thing is there’s lots of apps that have much better privacy and I can use decides through them. DO BETTER TP LINK. THERE IS NO REASON TO COLLECT ALL THIS DATA ON ME. THAT IS GOOD FOR ME. IT’S ONLY GOOD FOR YOU. WON’T BE BUYING ANY MORE OF YOUR GEAR UNLESS YOU DECIDE TO BECOME CONSUMER FRIENDLY WITH YOUR PRIVACY PRACTICES.
Tapo doorbell
The app keeps saying network unstable and I can not turn on the person detection no matter what I do. I have very reliable strong WiFi would be nice to have a faster working app.

Delete option
Great cameras for the money and I prefer the doorbell over the ring ones but it’s missing the option to be able to delete individual videos, only option is delete all of them. Don’t really want to keep 10 Clips a day of my cat being a knob head.
Problematic
The app is slow to notify. It buffers a lot. After I connected my C500 to the app it started distorting the speaker sound on my iPhone. I have to turn the phone off and then back on to make it work normally again. But it keeps happening.
Could be better
Playback keeps going into slow motion “You have viewed the live video for 5 mins without any operation. Continue viewing?” How ridiculous. Of course I want to continue viewing. That’s the whole idea 🙄

Happy to have such a great, excellent camera option, was easy to follow instructions for setting
Disappointed
While there are positives to this doorbell and camera, the inability to delete videos is disappointing. They can be deleted by reformatting the SD card but that means all videos are lost which is not what I would like. Has I known that this is the case, I would have bought a different doorbell unit.

Too many false alerts make real alerts useless
Getting a notification at 3 am. saying “Person detected!” spikes your cortisol levels, only for you to realise it’s your cat wandering around. Now I receive those “Person/Motion detected” notifications all the time and just assume it must be our cat. But if it’s a real person one day, I might just ignore the notification, only to discover later that it was a thief! So please fix this nonsense ASAP, or don’t sell a feature that doesn’t work!

The recording of voices/sound could do with being better. Intermittent/crackly voice recordings.

Great Tapo app, but the iPad interface needs attention
I’ve been very happy with the Tapo camera system and the app overall. The features are excellent, the cameras are reliable, and the integration with the Tapo H500 Central Hub works very well. One area that I hope Tapo will improve is the iPad experience. When accessing a Central Hub such as the H500 on an iPad, the interface appears to use what looks like the iPhone version of the app rather than taking advantage of the iPad’s much larger screen. There is a lot of unused screen space, and the interface feels more like an iPhone app running on an iPad than a properly designed iPad interface. This makes the H500 and other hub features less convenient to manage on an iPad. It also gives the impression that the iPad-specific interface may be unfinished. The Tapo app has become a very capable and polished part of the Tapo ecosystem. I’d love to see Tapo give the iPad interface the same level of attention, with a true full-screen layout designed specifically for the iPad. Overall, a very good app and camera platform. I’m looking forward to seeing the iPad experience catch up with the rest of the system.

I have had several instances where the light could not be turned off because the app was glitching. This means I am unable to sleep because the lights are on. This is unacceptable.

Unable to download clips
Hi, My Tapo C260 and my iPad Pro are connected to the same network but I was not able to download the clips captured on my CCTV, the prompt says "Unable to download clips. Your phone is not connected to the same network as your Tapo device" please fix this so I can download my important clips.

Broken
I have an older Ipad Air 2, a recent Tapo update has resulted in the single camera view being stretched vertically to fill the screen, the four-camera view mode is unaffected. Update 9th Aug, the latest App update on my 10th gen ipad has these issues, 1) sounds from other cameras are heard while not watching that camera, 2) when in multi-camera view i used to be able to double-tap to bring up one camera full-screen, that no longer works, 3) when swiping between camera views often an old image from another camera is temporally shown. Update 15th Aug, just updated the App, the above problems have not been fixed.

iPadOS 17.7.11 アプリバージョン 3.20.504 前回バージョン 3.20.154より不安定になり 起動数分でアプリが終了しデスクトップへ戻ってします。 現状では見守りカメラの用に足らないです。 追記:再起動も何もしていないのに今日は安定しています。なので評価を見直しました。

Widgets Problem
Before I’m able to use the widgets and click them at ease. Now it shows always Long Press to Edit Widgets. I have to go the main app to use the shorcut I created. Very tedious. Please fix it
