Randomly cancels money transfers, company RANDOMLY blocks card use. I just moved to a new state and have been using the card everyday for the week I’ve been here. Today I went to get groceries and the card was declined even though I had more than enough in my account. I got a fraud alert txt, verified it was me making the purchase, card still would not work. Customer service agent said there was NO problem with my card or account and that I should try again another day….had to leave my very full cart at the store and am moneyless until my card starts working on its own I guess. 0/10 BANK SOMEWHERE ELSE.
Solid App. Needs Dark Mode!
Almost perfect - please add a dedicated dark mode! Smart Invert in Per-App Settings doesn’t work.
Low functionality
There’s no way to see your individual account info. Clicking on the “account snapshot” (which only shows the total of all internal and external accounts) takes you to a page where they try to see you banking services.
Previous version worked better
Since this last update I can’t log in using my fingerprint. I have to type my login information every time.
Speed up transfers
I love the app and everything about it but please speed up the transfers. You guys are quick to withdraw the money from my accounts but slow to transfer lol
App does not update
It’s been a few months now and this app stopped updating. It simply shows “no transactions” when there are. It makes it extremely hard to check to see if a particular transaction has occurred. Have I been paid? Has that transaction gone through? I have absolutely no idea. There is no excuse for 1) no fixing this and 2) not keeping your customers apprised of your progress.
Great but the new design
I love the app and everything you provide. The design of the new app seems to make it harder to find things. I’ll get used to it but it feels a bit clunky.
Check deposit problem
Mobile deposit has not worked properly for months. Camera won't take the photos without a big delay and sometimes not at all.
Changes in app
Missing basic graph that was previously in app before new update. I don’t like that feature is gone. Let me know if it is somewhere else? But I thought that visual was really helpful now, not a good app in my mind.

Terrible
The app is never up to date, rarely reflects correct balances and now it’s saying that I don’t have an account at all.
App works for most times
Goes under maintenance too many times but works enough for me
Very inconsistent app
Sometimes it just won’t load any of my transactions, sometimes it won’t let me log in, and sometimes it works just fine. Very unpredictable and frustrating.
No Face ID Login
Might be better, but no Face ID and that makes it terrible to use.
Can’t deposit a check
After the update I tap many many times to take a picture of the front/back of check and the camera has so much trouble popping up. Please advise as I need to make a deposit, thanks.
“No transactions”?
I have been with UFB for over 3 years but in the last couple of months the app has started saying that my accounts have “no transactions” to display when I log on. This is clearly false as I use my checking account nearly daily. Also the last time I went to deposit a check it said that I needed to open an account to do so! I have multiple accounts open. How else do you think I got onto the app! This app was OK before but now it is basically useless. Not sure how much I can trust an online bank that isn’t transparent and doesn’t allow for basic online functions.
Easy to use
Straightforward app that is easy to use to manage accounts. Like the look and feel of the latest update but disappointed it removed the accrued interest section under Account Details.
Constant problems
This app doesn’t work half the time. Most of which results in attempting to sign in and it just doesn’t do anything and stays on the login screen. Due to this and not consistently being able to access my money, I wouldn’t recommend this app
Bring back old features
I don’t hate the new update but I love the old features where it shows your total net worth across different banks as well as how much you owes for credit cards, now its just hard to navigate like before. Beside that, before you can check how much interest you’ve earned throughout the month/year, now looks like you guys got rid of it. PLEASE BRING THEM BACK
Finally - an Update to the App!
I love the update to the app. It would be nice if you didn’t have to click so many times to get to the Interest Rate and earnings. I think you would attract more clients with this enhancement.
Worst banking app
I’ve had UFB since 2024. Their banking app is subpar to all other financial apps out there. It is glitchy, many times it doesn’t work at all. It takes time for it to give you your balance. Sometimes the balance is off or shows no balance at all. Really disappointed on how bad this app is. Only reason why I’m still banking with them it’s because all my payments are set up through them. I will be transitioning out soon.
Access problems
There is nothing worse than not having access to an app that is supposed to assure you that your money is safe. This app has a ton of glitches with Face ID coming and going and the password not being accepted. Yet the same password works perfectly fine via desktop
Decent but buggy
Good thing: competitive interest rates for HYSA. Bad things: slow to reflect transfers and deposits, buggy app (especially after update). Overall, fine if you don’t need quick transactions and use a browser, but maybe not worth it for frequent or urgent money moves and mobile only.
FINALLY UPDATED!!!
After YEARS of a pretty horrendous app that looked and felt like it hadn’t been worked on since 2005, UFB has finally stepped up and delivered a normal, functioning and honestly aesthetically put-together app. I can finally log in without trying 3 times due to faulty autofills. Best of all, I see all my info without having to scroll and hold to get to the bottom of a page. So far so good! well done, UFB iOS UX team 👍
unable to connect other accounts
i have been trying to link my other accounts to transfer money but it constantly fails.
Touch ID broken
iPhone SE doesn’t support Face ID, only Touch ID. When I try to enable Touch ID in this app, it takes me to settings to enable Face ID - but there is no such setting to enable, my device has Touch ID.

The app is garbage. You should consider hiring new programmers/developers
Latest update results in poor experience
The latest update brings in a poor user experience requiring multiple clicks (taps) just to navigate around. Opening the app used to use FaceID, now, sometimes it shows a UFB ad about getting more accounts or you have to manually input your passport. After logging in, the interest rate is shown wayyyy down at the bottom of the page and is the daily rate instead of the yearly (which is how it’s advertised on their website and what we’ve been used to seeing for a year or more in the old app). The interest received is hidden within the “settings” menu (why?) and more annoyances like this. And no, developers, I don’t need you to teach me how to use the app…it should be intuitive and it’s not.

App closes
The app closes every time I try to print a statement. Infuriating!!
4.0.32 Looks better but lost important functionality
I like to check in everyday in the app to verify the daily earnings on my accounts and the current APY which tends to change a lot without notice. The new 4.0.32 app doesn’t show the daily earned interest and the APY it shows doesn’t match what my account shows when I sign into the website. Basically, this version of the app is fairly useless to me now.
Fast, easy and with a great rate
After more than one year, all fine and great interest rate. I even moved money in and out to test if they were reactive. Moving from/to a US account costs zero
Garbage app

New app version - August 2025
This new version is a nuisance. Your app has turned from a banking app that easily shows my savings balance into some kind of net worth calculator that wants me to input other account info and look at your investing advice etc etc. Now I need multiple clicks just to see basic data on my savings account. Thumbs down.

Critical verification loop - action required immediately
I applied for a savings account over a week ago and have been stuck in a verification loop since. Each day I receive the same email: “Your application is almost complete – additional information is required.” But when I click the link and input my credentials, the web version fails to recognize my login, while the mobile app accepts it instantly with the exact same information. This issue is clearly a bug between app and web systems. It’s blocking full activation, costing valuable time, and delaying my deposits. Please escalate this and resolve it immediately — this system flaw is unacceptable for a financial institution offering high-yield services. I’m ready to complete everything as soon as the loop is removed. I expect this fixed with urgency.
