A no brainer
I wasn’t aware I could claim tax back as a UK resident whilst in France but noticed this after visiting Disneyland Paris. It’s super easy - just take pictures of your receipts, upload them, fill out a few details and then scan barcode at Le Shuttle Calais on the way back. Ending up getting €46 back - seems like a no brainer for just a few photos of receipts required. SkipTax handles the rest and I’ve got my refund less than a week later.
Terrible Ap
Another misleading App. Multiple issues logging on and when leaving France via train, you cannot use the internet so this app doesn’t work. They don’t tell you this. Paper worked better when I received these from other businesses. DON’T USE This app if you want money back. It doesn’t work!’n

Easy to use but it would help a lot to receive updates via emails instead of having to check the status of the refund on the app when I remember that I didn’t get it yet to discover that my credit card isn’t accepted, a selfie is missing…

Not worth it
Once you’ve completed all the steps - picture of passport, selfie and entered all your confidential information, you then have the hassle of asking the merchants to make out your invoice to Skiptax. That took a lot of time, while merchants figured out what they needed to do. Skiptax aren’t clear on what you can and can’t claim tax back on. Then once you do all of that and upload your invoices, they charge you a substantial portion of that claim. They’re not transparent with their costs. To give an example, for an invoice of €105 and the tax was £17.50, they stated I could claim £14 back. They then wanted to charge €6.50 so for all that hassle I would have taken away £7.50!! Not for me
Bien faite et utile mais …
Je trouve assez simple l’utilisation de l’app, relativement intuitive. Mon seul problème est que je ne peux écrire directement un message pour le support. J’ai un souci par exemple et les seules option avec le « bot » ne répondent pas à mon problème ni la FAQ.
Bugs
L’application est très pratique pour effectuer la détaxe. Par contre depuis plusieurs mois elle freeze sur mon androïd. Je l’ai donc installée sur un autre téléphone et là ça fonctionne! J’ai vérifié mais pas de mise à jour à faire
Rapide mais attention aux frais
Certes il rembourse plus rapidement que les autres mais les remboursements se font avec frais alors qu’ils ont déjà pris 20% de la tva. Apparemment seul les virements sur compte français sont sans frais. Même avec PayPal il y a des frais là où les autres opérateurs remboursent la somme dûes exactement comme sur le bordereau.

L’appli ne fonctionne plus correctement, je je peux plus prendre de selfie, mais je ne peux pas effacer mon compte immédiatement, ni en créer un autre avec le même passeport, ni faire rembourser les factures par un autre prestataire, elle sont au nom de Skiptax. Et bien sûr, pas moyen de joindre quelqu'un au téléphone, par mail ou même avec le chat qui est verrouillé: désastre total ! A se demander si ils ne sont pas payés pour ne pas rembourser.
Sceptical but satisfied
loaded the app to claim VAT back on wine. I didn't expect too much.. but it all worked out. roice upload process was easy, bit fiddly removing the the items I didn't want to claim 1. 1 could easily add additional invoices. The bar code was generated, already to go at the ). I was travelling by Ferry, the PABLO are in the DOUANES office - easy to find and sted. Scanning... you need to turn brightness up (as per instructions) .. the only heart in 1 was the scan.. go a green tick.. then confusing messages on the screen about keeping rm safe... there is no form and it took a few minute for skiptax to registed the scan.... but So, green tick... walk out and wait! I received my refund 24 hours later - great service - l will be using again!

Pablo terminals quite hidden
Couldn’t find the terminal in CDL airport. Wasted all my time and gave up private info for nothing. App has no email or contact us section. Chat only allows selected prompts.
Hard work
5 days to resolve and multiple visits to the APP . A lot of effort on my part. Required persistence to achieve a cash back outcome. Lots of hoops to jump through, but the system does work.
By far the best tax app
I’ve used other tax refund apps and had to mail receipts overseas and waited two weeks for a refund. With this app I scanned my bar code at the channel tunnel terminal at 8pm and the refund was in my bank account at 7am next day.
Two out of three but still waiting
Unfortunately I have to report having been informed my refund will be with me shortly nothing has appeared 2-3 days later WHERE’s My Money Not sure if it’s practice making perfect, but this time placed phone where requested with bar code showing, 30 seconds later all appeared complete. No need for the requested passport etc. Will use again
Super easy but commission unclear
Super easy and quick to use, excellent instructions. But - app should be clearer that they do take a commission eg for €100 VAT, I only got €80 back, and this was not mentioned up front or in the instructions, so I only realised this after I’d completely the transaction.

Really easy to use, so good when buying things abroad I would recommend this to everyone who wants to save money when on their purchases
Cannot claim after
Receipts say to save and claim back later. Fill out the app only to be told you have to do it before leaving France. Waste of time
Worth the effort
Easy to scan photos. If vendor isn’t a partner you have to request SkipTax receipt which we sometimes forgot to do. Very confusing at Pablo kiosk in Gare du Nord and staff wasn’t helpful. But I did eventually figure it out it did work and I did get my refund so alls well that ends well.
Skip tax
So simple to do and it only takes about 10/15 minutes to get the code through drive to the port show the code to the machine and all done . The refund will come to your account quickly as well .
No Refund
Presented all the necessary documents to customs officer in Le Shuttle terminal who said he processed my tax return. Got text message saying Congratulations you will get your tax back within 48 hours…. A week later I still haven’t received the tax refund!
Excellent App
App is straightforward to use, we went to Disneyland and attached pictures of our receipts. Only marked down a star as you can’t remove photos if you attach in error. Little confusing to find the barcode scanner at Paris CDG airport but once done, all very simple.
Easy to use & fast payment
I have tried the other app and had to wait 6 weeks to be repaid + had to wait several time for invoice processing. With skiptax the app is so well made that everything is automatic (invoice OCR) and takes seconds. The money was on my account the next day I returned to the UK. Impressive
Could not scan bar code at PABLO terminal
Adding invoices is easy however when we went to the PABLO kiosk in CDG terminal 2B to scan the bar code from the app, it would not accept it. We went to the attendant and he stated we had to print the bar code which is contrary to what the app says. The other issue we had was that there are only a few kiosks outside security at CDG so you may have to go to a different terminal to scan your bar code.
Great service!
The service works really well, although the app will sometimes freeze (e.g. when adding a new invoice) and doesn’t look great per iOS standards. It would also be simpler if we could add PDF files instead of photos. Much simpler and faster than sending them over email.

Barcode didn’t come through in time
Process says the barcode comes through quickly - ours took 12 hours meaning we couldn’t undertake the in-person aspect of the claim back in time. All chat functions of support do not work at the weekend, so if you need to claim back your tax before booked transport… good luck!! Lost out on a decent bit of money due to the very slow pace and lack of help to resolve.
Simple and fast
Very good experience so far, only improvement I can suggest for now would be to provide a field for items that are not imposed by VAT when submitting a claim (otherwise it’s not possible to have the invoice amount to agree).

Awful App
Take crystal clear photos and they’re still rejected. Also seems that the French like to keep their taxes and don’t tell you that you need a special SkipTax receipt from other stores except Disney. Absolute farce, but wouldn’t expect anything less to be honest.
