Crashes on iPad
App crashes after logging in on iPad. Even on iPhone it’s pretty useless - you can only view your accounts but not actually transfer or anything.

The mobile app looks like it was designed 10 years ago. Please go and check out other banking app. There are too many: lack of direction, lack of function like Transfer Funds to Outside Personal Banks. You can do better and you will get more Customers.
Ok but not as good as most bank apps
App overall is ok. You can easily deposit a check. However, you can not transfer from your external bank account into your Vio account which is a pain as every payday I move money into my Vio account. You must make these transfers on the web.

Worst Bank App Ever
This is the worst banking app that I have ever encountered and have. All you can do is check your balance and deposit checks. No ability to make transfers from it or schedule transfers! In order to do so; you have to go on their complicated website. This bank is where I has most of my savings and it is horrible. I also use Happen Bank, UFB, Goldman Sachs and Citi for online savings…they all have great and accommodating Apps!
Great bank
I love this bank and been with them for many years now. I love the simplicity of the app to get what you need done and done quickly. I’m not sure why lately I’ve not been able to transfer funds through the app. It states “ you must have at least one listed account to make a transfer “. I do have two connected accounts but they don’t show up on the app. Please fix this! It’s an inconvenience having to sign in on my computer to make transfers. I recently needed to make an emergency transfer and I couldn’t because of the transfer accounts not showing up on the app. Not cool!!!! Other than this hiccup this bank has been amazingly wonderful to work with.
App needs work
Of all my banking apps I feel like this is the worst. You really need to compare yourself to some of the other banks and make some upgrades.
Basic
the app doesn’t have many features available on the website. but the main issue for me is that it doesn’t work when i travel outside of US. How am I supposed to check my account or transfer my money when the app doesn’t work? it just shows authentication failed with no other clear message, eventually i figured out it was because i was in vietnam. I really don’t understand why, i just wanted to login to my account to do my banking.

Crashes, limited functionality
The app is crashing every time I try to log in now. There is really nothing you are able to do in this app aside from view your accounts. It is too simple and most options are grayed out for me. Everything else needs to be done via desktop. This app having such a high rating is suspicious.
Limited Function
Very limited usefulness. Can monitor balances and transaction history, but not able to initiate transfers to or from external funding accounts. This is essential for an online only savings account. Only can do that on website. If I have to go to the website anyway what is the point of the app? The website when accessed to make transfers does not display well on a mobile screen. Security seems adequate. Deleted app. Numerous complaints about lack of functions over a significant time period and all that happens is the canned response below. How about yes that is a critical function every one wants so we will be adding it in the next revision! More bad news, if you are traveling out of the US as I regularly do, their security system denies access. None of my other banks have this “security feature”. One bank I had used does not have an app but did have a fully functioning mobile friendly website- may be a better way for VIO to go. All positive reviews only cite the high interest rate paid. That is not what is being reviewed, you are rating the app and it is worthless! I said above I deleted the app not that I closed the account.

I can’t say enough about Vio Bank because they hire the best employees who are very patient and helpful to their customers. Thank you again for your help walking me thru a remote transfer.

Terrible app and a terrible bank. Custom service had zero idea what they were doing. Cannot recommend at all.

The app has very limited functionality beyond checking balances. Also, it now crashes every time you try to login.

There is a reason this app has so many bad reviews. The app itself is mostly useless. You can check balances, but you can't make external transfers, which is absolutely ridiculous for an online bank. Not to mention the app is ugly. It looks ancient and does not have great usability or accessibility. Based on the screenshots, it appears to be a clone of parent bank MidFirst's app, and it's surprising that MidFirst -- the largest privately owned bank in the country according to Wikipedia -- is too cheap to put any money into app development. The only plus side is that Vio has one of the highest savings rates in the country.

This bank is great. Best rates, easy to use, and wonderful customer service the few times I have needed it.
Not user friendly
To put it simply, the app sucks. It’s not user friendly whatsoever. They to do a major updates with it. It’s a financial app so I wasn’t expecting much but oh my goodness it sucks. The website is just easier to navigate than the app which is so disappointing.

Really sucks that I can’t find my bank account anywhere in the app. I had to go find a computer to get it. I tried going online with the phone but couldn’t see the number unless I was on a computer. A real inconvenience!

Not enough functionality
Basically all you can do is check balances and deposit checks. You should be able to see your interest rate. You should also be able to transfer funds in and out of external accounts.

Every time I try to log into the app on my ipad, it immediately crashes. I have no way to access my money because Vio is too cheap to pay someone to create an app that works.

Worthless app
So bad! After opening with 50k it took two weeks for three amount to even be recognized as having been transferred in. Oh, that’s not terrifying! Activity thereafter shows only what you have, not what the interest rate is, no other information about the account. Huh? I’m not confident this was the best choice for me. I hope I didn’t just lose 50k by trusting BankRate. How about some interactivity? How about show me some of your other products in case I want to move things around? Supposedly I have a great rate BUT I HAVE NO IDEA BECAUSE IT SHOWS NOTHING.
