This app has changed the game for me! My trailer use to just sit in the driveway.. Now I get to share it with folks exploring my huge backyard “Alaska”…
Outdoorsy not support their hosts
We rented our camper van through Outdoorsy, and our last rental in 2025 ended our rental business completely. Our last renter took the van without knowing how to properly operate it and somehow poured diesel fuel into the fresh water tank. To this day, I don’t understand how this happened. The water fill compartment requires a small key to open, while the diesel fuel fill is clearly located separately. We were always responsive and available to help our renters with any questions. What was most disappointing was how Outdoorsy handled the situation. From our experience, there was no meaningful investigation into what actually happened. We felt that the renter’s version of events was simply accepted, while as owners we were left with the damage and consequences. Replacing the contaminated water system is estimated to cost us around $10,000. We simply don’t have that kind of money to repair it, so since that rental we have not been able to rent the van anymore. We still use the van ourselves - just without running water. After this experience, I personally would not recommend Outdoorsy to other van owners. We believed that renting through a large platform would provide some level of protection when something serious happened. Unfortunately, when we actually needed that protection, we felt completely unsupported. One renter’s mistake essentially ended our ability to rent our van, and we were left dealing with the financial consequences ourselves.
Overall good app, would like more data
Enjoying this app, as a Host it is helpful to be able to perform my tasks using the mobile app. One feature I would like to see added, since I have multiple listing and receive a message from a potential guest, I cannot see which unit they are referring to on their questions in the app, need to log into my computer to view that which sometimes is not accessible in a timely manner and makes my response time slower. The pre-trip photo upload works awesome and I appreciate I can document prior minor dents/dings so the guest knows they are not responsible for it.
No longer a service to Owners
After multiple seasons of renting our campers, we are abandoning this service as they appear to only be concerned with selling insurance plans. We rely on the ability to set our pickup, delivery and cleaning rates, which is no longer possible. Adding photos that were captured on your device before launching the app, no longer possible. Need to make an adjustment to a booking due to a renter request, good luck getting any support after hours of sitting on the phone and in chat sessions. Our time is not worth the little value this platform provides. We'll be marketing our rigs thru other platforms moving forward (as well as migrating our insurance coverage). Enough is enough.
Could be better
I really don’t like that every time I open a message thread it starts at the top of the thread. The app is buggy. I upload post trip photos and sometimes it adds them sometimes it dosent.
Great service and platform
I have been on both sides, a Host and renter before I bought. Always receive timely and great customer service. Excellent platform!
Terrible and crazy app with support
Terrible platform and extremely poor support. My vehicle was damaged by a renter, and for two months Outdoorsy has failed to properly resolve the case or compensate me. I also cannot recover the money from the renter because support keeps opening new reviews and repeatedly requesting information and evidence I have already submitted. The claims process is disorganized, slow, and unacceptable. Based on my experience, I strongly recommend avoiding Outdoorsy.
Good but not host friendly
We need to be able to see what unit or listing a potential renter guest inquiry question comes from. I can’t answer questions about an RV that I don’t know which one they’re role feeding to. Also absolutely terrible that we can’t upload pictures even if timestamped unless physically in front of the unit taking pictures.
Not a great platform
There is no way to vet potential guests ( like previous host reviews ) on a profile like you can on RVezy. Also found out after an issue with a renter that they use a third party insurance company in Canada. Despite having notifications turned on, I have not been alerted to requests as well, I only found them after logging on after the fact. High fees as well. I think I will be removing my Rv from this platform moving forward
So many bugs!
I really want to love this app. I’ve been an Airbnb and VRBO host for a couple years now and use both of those apps pretty effectively. Jumped in to the world of hosting an RV and downloaded this app. There are so many wonky things about it that I don’t know where to even start. Please get your development team to use the app themselves. There’s no way they could be doing that and not noticing all the issues.
Excellent
Is the perfect app if you want to rent out your trailer has everything you need and has everything you need for renting and making sure you are covered
It won’t work
The app is the bummer! So many bugs!
It was better about two updates ago.
Overall, I enjoy using the app. It’s convenient for managing my rentals in one place and can be easily navigated. Having said that, some of the features that have been easier to access in the past, are now harder to find with recent updates. For example, navigating to the rental documents like insurance can be hard to find, and I don’t like how the trip start is linked to whatever you set up for the listing; not everyone can pick up at the same time and I like having the flexibility to start the trip at a time the client and I agree to. Additionally, I have a website to provide my clients with a reference of the systems on the van, with links to ‘how to’ videos, but I can’t link the URL in the message app; I have to tell them to google it. It’s not a great way to convey information that’s easily accessible to the client. The confusing part is, there have been times in the past where I’ve been able to paste the website, and other times when I haven’t, pick a plot line already. Anyway, I know there are probably good reasons for the latest updates, but overall I feel like the app is less flexible than it has been in the past.
Platform is great, app is terrible
The platform is great, but the app has a lot of glitches and things don’t work constantly. Really frustrating trying to use it on a phone. On the computer it works fine.
The app is finally good
There was issues for the longest time responding to Smart Match on IOS that are finally corrected.
AirBnB for RVs
Awesome concept and excellent customer service!
Horrible App
This is the worst app ever. Glitches, emails don’t update, keeps notifying there are unread emails when the inbox is empty.
Keeps host money too long
There is no reason for the 48-hour hold on payment once the Rv has been picked up. The Rv returns to me on a short rental before I ever get my money. Outdoorsy has had the renter’s money a long time in advance.
Glitchy ID verification
Have you reviewed how this works, this is ridiculous. App glitches out after adding tax info and then for ID verification it glitches even worse. I have an iPhone 16 pro max it should be seamless
Too high fees
Good for the exposure, but their fees for owners are too high!
Worst booking ever
Literally every single time you try to send a quote that involves delivery with set up it bugs out and you have to do it again every time because it defaults to picking up instead of delivery. It’s extremely annoying when you have to correct quotes and you send false messages to customers all the time.
Good job
I always have good responses and help when I’m not sure of what to do.
App Provlems
Anyone else having issues with signing in on the app? I’m a returning Outdoorsy Host and was looking forward to another great season, however for some reason I am unable to sign in, with either of my emails. Also I can’t even request a password change as I’m “Not authorized to make that request (401)” ??? Looked around everywhere I can with no answers!
Great App!
This is an awesome way to keep the trailer booked with great clients!
Keep shutting down
Please fix this. This version is not working at all.
Easy
Easy to learn and manage, very straightforward app and fast for anything I need. This definitely a 10/10
Disfunctional
Very limited on form or function. Randomly turns off and on. Reinstalled app, still broke. You need to call in concerning just about anything. All of the host apps are junk these days. Turn off the AI features and let it be a user friendly app. Just because you can doesn’t mean you should…….
Happy trails!
I have been using outdoor Z for many years and they are professional and have good customer service. They are very fair and on your side and on the guest side somehow. I also use other sites as well finding all of them to be pretty good.
Can’t even list on it
The app freezes up when you try to do anything with verify id support was no help whatsoever. Neither was the AI just kept giving canned information
Extremely Disappointed – Worst Experience as a Host!
Outdoorsy fails to protect hosts and covers up thousands in damages! Do not trust Outdoorsy to rent out your RV. They have zero protection for hosts when things go wrong and their customer service is an absolute joke. I recently rented out my RV, and the guest caused extensive damage and overages. After returning the vehicle, the guest maliciously canceled their credit card authorization to avoid being charged. This left me unable to collect $153.20 for excess mileage and generator usage, and $49.80 for a late return. Furthermore, the renter severely burned the kitchen countertop and broke the refrigerator door handle, resulting in $816.00 in repair costs. Totaling over $1,000 in legitimate fees and damages, Outdoorsy’s customer support did absolutely nothing to help. Instead of holding the renter accountable or utilizing their insurance/protection policies, the agents repeatedly gave me the runaround, intentionally dragged out the process for weeks, and finally tried to force me to settle the entire case for a measly $150.00. Outdoorsy allows fraudulent guests to walk away scot-free while leaving hosts to pay for major damages out of pocket. Their "host protection" is a complete scam. I will be filing a formal complaint with the Better Business Bureau (BBB) and taking further legal action if this is not resolved properly. Avoid this platform at all costs!
Crashes on Bookings
Currently crashes upon trying to access bookings. Keyboard is janky at best. Lack of capitalization, etc is annoying. Doesn’t have near the features or the feel of the full desktop version.
Hosting
Great adventures and great people to work with.
Worst App Ever
I’ve never written a review for an app. This app has to be the worst and least user friendly I’ve ever experienced. It’s not easy to use, you can’t reach out to anybody for help, it just AI (which is lazy and useless to use l), the fees they charge is insane. In addition to the hefty fee they take out of the reservation, they also take a percentage out when you have to charge a guest post-trip. They should use all the money and hire someone else to fix the app. It shouldn’t be that hard- Airbnb is extremely user friendly. So is RV Share- so what’s going on???
