Maintenance Reminder
The Bowflex JRNY maintenance reminder pops up every single time, every single time! Every time that it connects to Bluetooth. No associated schedule or timetable in which you need to see just what actually needs maintenance to be done. It’s just a redundant annoyance that you have to acknowledge before the program can run.
Overall great App
I have been using JRNY for three years now as an addition to my cardio routine. I absolutely fell in love with the platform instantly on my first workout and prefer it to other indoor cycling apps. A major drawback for me, that really caught me off guard, within the past year, was the removal of workouts greater than 55 minutes. Overall, there’s great variety of workouts (both HITT and leisure) for those who want to enjoy a workout less than 45 minutes. I’m really hopeful and optimistic that new workouts will be added back in the future for the endurance enthusiasts who love their cardio workouts!!!
Shouldn’t be an app
The app is fine and mostly does what it claims to, but there’s no way it should cost $13/month. All the functionality should be included either on the machine or in a free app that is bundled with the original purchase price. Paying an expensive subscription so I can use basic functionality on piece of equipment that cost $1,000 is insane.
Great app. Needs more and newer content.
I’ve used the JRNY app with my MaxTrainer for almost 2 years. The app itself, its tracking features, and the adaptive workouts are great. The lacking element is new content. It seems Bowflex has never had a content update. A real shame. They ought to let other people develop new content that could be posted to the app. If they did so this would be a fantastic feature.
Frustrated
This app is useless. The entertainment section is not working and I have rebooted both my schwin recumbent bike and my iPad. There is no customer service. The online help does not provide a phone number or link. I am really disappointed. The app had been working until yesterday. It worked for 15 minutes, then shut off the music turned off. How disappointing
Doesn’t work for m7
I am very frustrated that I can no longer use the bowflex app to track my workouts with my M7. This new app no longer supports the older machines. That’s very frustrating that I can no longer track my workouts.
More workouts
While I see a few additional 45 minute workouts, these have barely been updated in a year. I’m considering canceling within the year if more aren’t added frequently
Will not record workouts
Contacted support and told them watch data not going into JRNY. JRNY not recording workouts since the first one. Support said Apple Watch does not work with JRNY. I mean who knew? What a joke. Only records if I don’t use watch

Don’t bother
This app replaces the SelectTech app. It completely sucks because you can’t do anything without a subscription. They took a good app and crapped all over it because they wanted to make more money. Don’t even waste your time downloading and creating an account.
C6
Perhaps it’s my unfamiliarity with the C6 workout options, but it would be nice to see where you’re supposed to be at RPM wise per the instructor and I just haven’t found that yet. The RPMs help gage where I should be at compared to the instructor.
Same old trainers for 5 years

Not fully able to use
I can’t fully give the best review because I can only seem to use the app on my treadmill and it’s BXT6 model and I just learned about the JRNY app when I was looking for indoor bike so I decided to do the trial and purchased a BowFlex Velocore and I can’t use it on the BowFlex Velocore it says upgrade and it won’t allow me mirror from my phone, can’t get the Zwift app to work on it either so my trial is not working as I had hoped

I purchased this through bowflex and every few weeks it won’t allow me to use it unless I update the console which takes at least 25 minutes. Not convenient at all for a $1000 machine.
Good not great
The instructors are super positive, which is awesome. Never feel like I’m being guilty for being out of shape. Very much you do you and while you’re doing it’s the right reason. I do wish the screen showed the instructors recommended cadence and resistance range. I also wish it there was a free ride Option as I do extended cool downs, and warm-ups at times and those don’t count for the fitness tracking. Other than that great app connects, easy to the bike and heart monitoring.
Need better instructors and music
Did back to back workouts with the Pelton app and this, data tracking is better using a bow flex bike but the fitness instructors and the music are so bad compared to what peloton has. Like Globo Gym vs Average Joes
No more dumbbell workouts?
I’m not sure why, but almost all the dumbbell workouts have been removed. I don’t know if this is a mistake or if they’re discontinuing the dumbbells after last year’s recall.
Best self guided app
I have used this app during and now post rehab. The coaches are excellent. The classes are from beginner to advanced and you can adjust daily as your body tells you. This app supports workouts without equipment. This investment is for life!
Broken user interface
You don’t get a keyboard, or a drop down to modify birthday, gender, or height in the profile creation. Can’t use the app if you can’t change settings
JRNY with Recumbent Bike
The app works great with my iPad. I wish the coaching comments with the virtual rides were customized for a recumbent bike.

Can’t connect iWatch to use APP with membership
Too glitchy for the price
The amount of glitches you can expect in the app does not justify the cost. If I get an alarm or notification on the screen it will throw off the image and you’ll have to restart your workout or continue with a frozen image. I also wish there were unlimited skips with the music or at least let you curate your own playlist.

Doesnt sent the correct heart rate per session to my Apple Watch, also suddenly stopped sending calories. Wish I got a Peloton bike instead.

If Apple watch gets disconected from treadmill, which has happened in all my workouts my program in jrny freezes and I have to start a new one
Bowflex Max Trainer
Been using the max trainer for some years now and it never fails to deliver a tough, satisfying workout. Interval training just works for me and I love to be tested!
Sometimes a little glitchy
I love the large variety of workout options and connectivity to my Bowflex treadmill but sometimes the app gets super glitchy which either messes up my workout by cutting it short or it won’t load at all. But when it’s working properly it’s great!

Good app
The issue, no explanation or documentation on where you should be in accordance to the screen. For example how fast or at what incline should I set the settings. Eventually you will figure out but a set of instructions would be helpful.
Challenging workouts
I signed up for the trial period which I love that they offer 2 months instead of the typical 1 month like most other companies do. I love the variety of workouts. I absolutely love my new bike.
Very poor
I have to turn my Bowflex off and on 3 to 4 times before it works properly. The running screens just shut down in the middle of a run and often do not start up correctly. This can take 10-15 minutes before I can run. Very aggravating.
Cross app connectivity lets this down
This App is a good companion to the Max Total. My big gripe with it, and I find it strange in this day and age where almost all other Apps manage it, is the lack of ability to share completed workouts to Strava

If you ever decide to pause the workout to catch your breath, the program gives you 3-4 seconds before it decides “break’s over” and unpauses it. Frustrating!

Been using the free version for years and really enjoy it!
Not what I expected
The speed doesn’t match my how fast my view. I thought it was actually going to show me different places not the same view with more cars. You can’t sink you treadmill and iPhone together. Not very please with it but it also been 3 days. I will try to give it longer before deciding to remove this app
It works ! Amazing
The Bowflex machine ( M6 )app work great together. I have two homes one in Toronto and one in San Jose , Costa Rica. Ising the new iphone 16. Very happy, good machines and good app
Bring Back SelectTech!
Please bring back the SelectTech app that came with the weights! It is so simple and easy to use. It is the sole reason we have recommended your product to all our friends and now it’s gone!! The 6 week challenge was so amazing! Simple app to use and track…we miss it! My phone needs replaced but I’m having on to it exclusively for this app. I can’t change/upgrade my phone without losing the app. Please please bring it back! It’s so much easier and more valuable than journey for those that just want the basics.
When it works…
…it’s fine. But it is very glitchy. It freezes, is slow to load and sometimes refuses to connect to my WiFi or my heart rate monitor.
JRNY & Strava
Would like to see my JRNY indoor cycling app sync with Strava indoor cycling app in the future.
Tablet freezes consistently
Loses all of my workout details. I am trying to set goals and when it freezes about 1 out of every 2 workouts it crashes and does not show my progress, very disappointed!
Mostly good
Good workouts, nice videos to ride through countryside etc. good to be able to view Netflix and Amazon as well as use peleton. Annoying that it won’t sync with my watch to track heart rate etc. would be nice to have some rowing workouts. Would and also would be good to be able to link with Strava.
Would be 4 stars but doesn’t synch to Apple Watch
This is a major shortcoming for the app. It synchs with external heart rate monitors but does not synch to Apple Watch for heart rate. Kind of silly for an iOS app. The body tracking for exercises is decent and it offers hood correction. The app doesn’t recognize if the user has access to a bench. So I cannot use this app when I want to do some of my bench exercises. Same goes for bands, balls, boxes, or balance boards.
Do better
Needs longer workouts sucks since last major update.
