What people like
- Easy to use for prescriptions
- Quick access to test results
- Intuitive interface saves time
What they complain about
- Keeps crashing when you open it
- Login process is annoying and slow
- Hard to find new message details
Brilliant app
Never had a problem with this app, information is put on quickly like results and it’s easy to understand and use
Won’t send forgot password links to email
For some reason clicking forgotton password doesn’t send a link to my associated email. But I can login to their website just fine. Not sure if this is even the MyCare official app tbh
Ease of use
I found the white ticks on a pale green background difficult to read. It would be helpful if the contrast were greater.
Pretty rubbish
I’ve struggled to get hold of my health data, which I needed my GP practise to link. Unfortunately this still isn’t working - I can see only basic information, my GP practise has stated that ‘it should work’ unfortunately it doesn’t
Doctors are ok
Its the reception. Accross all gp. Demanding to know why youf ill
Superb
Easy to use. Very informative.

Minor tweaks
App generally good - is it a lot for repeat prescriptions and appointments. It is not consistently used my medical profession so I have missing test results/ X-rays and an appointment letter which I got in the post. Could be improve by being able to flag messages in different colours (useful when you have several things going on) or be able to add a note. Also need to be able to zoom in to letters rather than just downloading and having store somewhere else. Otherwise good. :-)
Data Protection Issues
The App does not allow you to opt out/record that you expressly do not give permission for any of your medical data being processed via by the “Patients Know Best” part of the site. This is a privately owned organisation and I consider this just another step in the aim of big business to privatise the NHS by stealth. Following my above review/concerns, the NHS App team contacted me but have still not addressed my concern that the part of the site used by hospitals to process communication which can include personal medical data is provided by a private organisation (Patients Know Best) and not internally by the NHS.
Helpful information but tricky to find updates
Note for app developers at the bottom of this review. This app gives access to a lot of information about medical activity. However, when new information is added a notification appears on the app icon in the form of a number in a red circle; when you go into the app to find the new information, there is nothing to tell you where it is. I have just spent nearly an hour going through every information option available and the notification that there is new information is still present. I have no idea what has been added or how to find it. Please come the app developer amend the app so that when you go into it, it flags where any update updates are to be found.
Love it
So easy to use
FIX IT NOW!!!!!!!,
Absolute pain to have to log on. Does not auto fill log details that are saved on my phone. So I have to go in to passwords and even then I have to type in NHS to find details which should already be there. Also another pain in the rear end - I have to go through this ridiculous long tedious process for EVERY notification to find out which of my 5 family members it is for !!!!!!!!! Stupidity designed by monkeys.
Surprising good
I was very pleased how easy it was to negotiate. See what I’m ordering be reminded not to go to the Pharmasist until your items are ready and then you’ll get a text saying when you can collect very pleased.
Test Results Not Displaying Correctly
Recent test result appeared. I clicked on it and nothing displayed. Accessed my records via the Patient Access app and that displayed the result fine. Also I don’t get app notifications even though they are switched on.
Remembering login is a joke feature.
Has some good features but shouldn’t even bother to pretend it remembers your login. What’s most egregious about remembering your login is that the app is logged in enough to send iOS notification of incoming NHS messages. On login screen you have the choice between logging in or rejecting cookies, not both.
Improved App is easier to use
This app is a lot better since it keeps you logged in! The past versions were too annoying with embedding the website(?) calling it an app and needing to log in and get text code each time you wanted to open it. It now stays logged in properly, easier to use and can use FaceID etc!
Useless
It fails to connect to the Anima app to contact my GP and loses all the information I have typed in every time I minimise it. Not use friendly and very slow.
Have to login in each time now
This app Is mediocre at best but since being updated in Aug 2026 you now need to enter all your credentials EACH TIME even though you've enabled Face ID and have your password saved in Password app. What a pain - it doesn't even save your email address at login you have to type it all in. Come on!!!!! Annoying.
Can’t confirm DOB
Tried to make an appointment for the Flu Jab via the app. Every time I input my Date of Birth I just get a spinning circle for a few seconds then nothing. Please fix this.
Logged Out
A good App but it kept logging me out for my security. I was in the App a while as I was reading some test results and links attached. I used a password and security number sent via phone so I would hope this provides enough security for the Users data.
Can be useful but so hard to get it working
I have used this app a few times, originally it worked however it did crash after an around a minute so I had to get the submission done quickly. Now when I try to use it, it loads a different screen which never actually loads and then won’t let me progress. The idea of the app is very helpful, however this is just a bad app, it doesn’t function well and is more complicated than it needs to be.
Cannot log in abroad
Any ideas how to get around this? Can’t log in to access my digital COVID pass. Updated all log ins and the app, can’t find any info anywhere
Very useful but need better interface
The app is very useful and certainly saves a lot of time for parents and doctors. But the interface needs improving as it can be difficult to navigate. Some pages have no back button so you have to quit to move back. Others don’t align the texts properly. Look forward to seeing improvements in the future.

Brilliant
Shocking App - no point downloading
Absolutely shocking app. Not up to date at all. Can barely access records. What are we really paying taxes for if the NHS is constantly this shocking. Joke of an app. Will be deleting this now.
Should improve it
Their application needs a lot to be improved and they should ease the log in using email only sometimes doesn’t help,so (nhs number or birth day) will make it more easier. Requirements to prove the identity!!!!!!!! I was shocked 😂for example I have to record a video of my face at midnight!!! I mean there should be better ways to log in and adding information.
GP health record??
App is recently improved with more logical and helpful layout. However one of its most useful features has disappeared! Where has the GP Health record gone?
All Good
Big steps/strides forward. App makes me feel more inclusive & less frustrated. Keep up the good work 👍✅👏
Was great til last update!
It’s now telling me it can’t do biometrics, go back to the login screen. But keeps going round in a loop and I can’t access the login screen. iOS. Not impressed as I need to order prescriptions. Gonna try deleting and reinstalling.
No “Select a pharmacy” option any more
I’ve used the app for years and always found it useful, easy to use and a time-saver. However, the option to select a pharmacy seems to have been removed which makes it much less helpful for repeat prescriptions. Why have you done this?
Helping and user-friendly
The NHS App is very helpful and intuitive to use.
Utterly useless
Iv gone to use the online appointment booking today and literally can’t do it because the only option it’s asking is for a smear appointment! No good for a guy that. But then why am I not surprised when it’s an NHS app. Pathetic.
Notifications
I would say the NHS App fails at one of its most important tasks… to notify about hospital appointments. I have reverted to postal appointment letters. I also suspect that if you use the app you are more likely to be cancelled at short notice.

Missing data that was previously shown
After every update i lose all my test results or disconnected from one of my consultants so cant get the info needed, this is primarily due to ovepaid talentless app developers wasting tax payers money
Doesn’t sync with apple health
Doesn’t connect with apple health unfortunately we are lagging behind here. Nice to have my test results, but it’s time consuming to manually transfer data to the health app.
Great! A proper iPad app
The NHS app keeps getting better and better. I would like it to show more of my results from hospitals though and to implement Passkey authentication. Keep up the good work. Roll on the single patient record asap!
Difficult to use
Eventually found how to repeat a prescription only to see ‘this page has been removed’. In a digital world I’m still now expected to get to my GP.
Money
Hi I mistakenly bought this and have not opened it. How do I get a refund?
