Is there an issue?
I’ve recently updated my iPhone to the latest version & still cannot access this app. The Face ID works but then, nothing…it seems to be buffing with the 3 dots & there’s no access…plz fix this as I absolutely love this app, hence the 3 stars…
Down again, not fit for purpose.
App is so inconsistent, logging in can be such a lottery. Timing out despite all updates and superb network connectivity. This should not happen considering what it is supposed to provide.
Update
Really good App. Cannot log in after the latest Apple iOS update. Loops back to sign in after Authenticator input. This is now happening again. 30 Sep 2026.
Hopeless
I would like to be generous and suggest the problem might lie with my doctors’ surgery too, but this is deeply annoying as an app. In theory it should be great but repeat medication is a nightmare - the amounts are wrong, despite me repeatedly pointing it out; medications disappear and I get random messages saying request has been refused the fulfilled but then it says it’s been done ‘outside of Patient Access’ so I can’t see dates / amounts etc. When asked to review the page, it’s not even anything to do with Patient Access either, just about web design. Not good enough.
Very disappointed
Tedious and frustrating to get a repeat prescription!
Bb
Marvellous you are
Cannot order repeat meds
Was working ok, but usually slow, today it won’t let me order repeat medication,it comes up with messages about the pharmacy not completing dispensing medication & other message, I successfully ordered via NHS app instead
Tedious to read test results
This is good for the few things I use it for. It’s good to have test results available, but their display could be improved. - graphs don’t show normal / abnormal ranges - you can’t see a simple list of all results from a given test. You have to tap through each in turn which is tedious. Also there’s a long message from surgery at the start of each result requiring scrolling every time, even for the latest result. This is shown on the intro screen already so could be removed from each individual test result page.
Priorities are PRIVATE healthcare
This app has next to nothing to do with your NHS information. It has a cluttered awful design and it’s 99% focused on private, paid for health care. To find NHS test results or letters is a nightmare. Use the NHS app, this one is showing you trash you find on Instagram.
Needs improvement
My medications do not show in the repeat section. So I have to message my GP for prescriptions- only when they are approved there is no dates on the orders page so I have no idea if my latest one has been approved or the listing is showing the previous one. A simple date stamp should be an easy fix and something that should have been there all along.
Great app
It’s been very useful to me , thanks
Waste of my time
Useless system. I want to book an appointment, go to the book appointment section, but none of what listed is what I need. Bring back calling the surgery by ‘phone and speaking to a member of staff!!
Include information about what’s included in blood tests, you geniuses
The Patient Access app is easy to use, but when booking private blood tests it only shows the name of the test profile (e.g. Vitamin Profile, Fitness Profile) and then takes you straight to the price list and booking screen. There’s no information explaining what’s actually included in each profile, so it’s not very useful, is it? Maybe the geniuses who designed this app could add a proper breakdown of what’s included before people pay.
Barely works on MacOS
The app is available on Mac, but shows a warning that the device is jailbroken every time it is launched, even when that is not the case.
XXXX’s
When you open the app and tap read messages you can’t exit that screen because the x is in the top right hand corner and it’s not connecting with the finger as I touch the screen 🤦🏿♀️. iPhone.
Convenient
Thank you very much. Makes life easier. Can order medication without leaving home or making a telephone call. Also not needing to drive to the surgery with the price of petrol theses days.
Constantly
Always asks for verification, sends codes that don’t work, insists on 3 party app verification-despite setting up my personal password key Seems a good idea but for someone who doesn’t find signing into any app easy this must be a nightmare for Far more hassle than it’s worth.
Signing in
Every time I try to sign in it just shows the message Hello Brian. It takes several times before it opens to do anything
Tracking widget does not work
Useful app but the prescription order tracking widget has never worked for me
So easy
I love how convenient it is to manage my medication refills online.
Disastrous
Absolutely terrible - app crashes every few minutes. I’m trying to reorder medications before going on holiday, but the app shuts off every time, I get to the medications page. I’m reasonably IT literate and such, but having logged in 10 times or more in the last 20 minutes, I’m giving up.
GP Practice.
WON’T Link Ma GP Practice, Cause it’s Absolutely Useless. All I’ve Had is Endless Problems With This Bloody Thing. 😡😡😡😡😡
Quick and Simple
I’m thankful to be able to order repeat prescriptions so easily and efficiently.
Awful
This has got to be the worst app in the world. Can’t log in, download Authenticator app. Scan code with tablet, gives code, doesn’t work, try again code isn’t the right one, tried again and again. Why when you have a password, do you need to go through all this every time you want to SIMPLY LOG IN!!!!!!!!
Great … but
The app will not allow you to login if you’ve not used it in a while. You need to delete and reinstall. My advice is that if you can’t login just go to the web based version if it’s an emergency.
Mrs Beverley Stewart
The app is very user friendly, easy to use and convenient. Thank you
Doesn’t work?
Cannot log in
Poor app
Keeps crashing in middle of using app Still not addressed!
Me
Nice and easy ❤️🙏
Technical Difficulties
I’ve had access and was able to log in fine since I originally set up my account. Recently, I thought I’d like to be more secure with my account, so I set up the two-factor authentication (2FA). This has now locked me out of the account, at least it would seem that way. The system is completely broken. On a desktop browser, I get a generic error: "Sorry, we weren't able to sign you in at this time. Please check your sign in details and try again." However, trying to log into the iOS app reveals the actual backend failure. It tells me: "Sorry, we weren't able to sign you in at this time. We are experiencing some technical issues while getting your record from your practice." I have reset my password and reset the 2FA (using both Apple and Google Authenticator). The system claims these resets are "successful," but the second it tries to fetch my data from my GP practice, it chokes. It won't even let me completely disable 2FA to revert to my working setup. Enabling security should not corrupt the link to a patient's GP surgery. I recommend avoiding 2FA on this app until they fix this database synchronization bug.
Full of bugs
The ‘give feedback on this page’ link takes you to an advert for Typeform on every link going. The medication list doesn’t show dates ordered so you’ve no idea if what it shows is currently approved or from six months ago. There are numerous links to pages where nothing is written or just multiple strings of letters. Like there was something there but not anymore. Login process is convoluted and asks multiple times for the same things, then just hangs. How any developer can be proud of this is beyond me.
Life saver
No matter where I am or what time it is, I am able to order my medication immediately, the moment I think of it. This app has made all the difference for me. I’m alway certain now, to never run low on anything I need!
What’s its purpose we have the NHS app
Don’t see the purpose of this app! We have a NHS app why so fragmented? App states you can book GP appointments and repeat perspirations. The GP practice I’m registered with can’t do either.
There’s not much options
If only you can email your GP instead of calling the surgery, it will limit the amount of work for the surgery office answering phone calls, booking appointments (this app is not allowing me to book appointments for my GP), automatic refills, etc. Having used a different platform before which are very much user friendly, you can get through to the office quicker without even talking to someone. It’s just frustrating that you are unable to do things using the app when it has so much potential.
Just a great service.
Extremely convenient....it makes my life so easy...thank you for having this service !!!
Password reset
Won’t work, simple takes you to the log on screen when clicking the email - needs sorting out in an update soon!
