A great easy to use gym with no messing or up selling. I can use the gym when I like and how I see fit along side the app to check my progress aswell as updates from the gym itself
App is broken !
Intermittent gym entry tracking, deleted all of my manually added workouts, very disappointing, just not good enough, fix it now !
More cleanning on the facilities
I understand many things but should be more clean toilets, SHOWERS, and equipment
App is pretty useless
The gym app lets them down as it’s always crashing and classes are very difficult to get into. However, this is not down to the actual staff on site but greed by management allowing far too many members. Perhaps a restriction on numbers of of classes per week per member would be a good idea eg 5 if they are going to keep increasing membership.
Chews up storage
The app does what it says on the tin just fine. No problems there. What is an issue is how much storage a seemingly simple app takes up. Nearly 4gb of data used up. What even is this data? There doesn’t appear to be a way to clear it either. Would appreciate optimising the app or offering a means of clearing this.
Fit pump classes
Hi, there used to be fit pump or bodypump classes on Tuesdays and Thursdays but all been cancelled now! Why do you move them round so much? We plan for it and suddenly it’s not there anymore!

NEVER GIVE THEM YOUR REAL EMAIL. OTHERWISE IF YOU EVER CANCEL YOUR SUBSCRIPTION THEY WILL BLAST YOU WITH DAILY SPAM TO REJOIN WITH NO OPTION TO UNSUBSCRIBE. IF YOU MUST USE THIS SAD OVERCROWDED UNDERSTAFFED GYM CHAIN, THEN USE APPLE HIDE MY EMAIL FEATURE.
Great gym
Welcoming and friendly people and instructors
Poor app & poor communication
I’ve been using the Gym Group for 2 years, the app is unreliable, it freezes regularly so when you are using the QR code you either get stuck trying to get in or out of the gym. Very poor communication from the Gym Group also, my membership was cancelled without warning & I had to re register & take out a new plan whilst standing at the entrance to the gym, no prior email warning or text.
Awesome
Just joined The Gym Group in Colchester and having been a member of David Lloyd the gym equipment is much better and the distance as busy. Also, I’m able to cancel my Fitness First as I can use this in London before or after work. I’m loving it.
Disorganised
Classes are cancelled as little as 5 minutes before the class. Multiple classes a week. No replacement PTs they just cancel them. Never known a gym to be so unreliable.
Booking classes problem
Great app overall, however glitchy for booking classes. I have tried to book a specific class over the past few days and each time get message slot not bookable. The class is definitely running. Each time I go in the spaces available has decreased and my partner has been able to book a place. 🤷♀️
Buggy! (I can’t change my gyms)
After the most recent update, I’ve been unable to update (or even see!) my other gyms despite having multi-gym access (I have the Ultimate membership).

The days scrolling mean you can easily book a class on the wrong day
I want to click a day/date and only see the classes on that day. If there aren’t any, you see the ones for the next day and accidentally book on for those!
Staffing levels
The gym is a friendly place but at the moment it’s very short staffed . This will lead to the remaining PTs to leave……!! Pay them better/ more !!
Lunchtime sessions
Great circuit with Emma McGovern but the Rowerg chain needs oiling / need heavier slam balls 7 isn’t heavy, it’s like jelly on a plate
Gym not open when they say it was
They sent an email with the heading saying they were open after a maintenance shut down. This proved to be wrong. The gym was ready to be open as staff member was inside with a client using the gym. They have 24/7 access without staff on site so could have opened but they chose not to
Good for the value
Always very packed of people. The gym has a great space and potential for more equipment.
lovely atmosphere
you get people that will help with your form and if you need a certain attachment people wont be annoyed avout you speaking to them and theyll just give it too you
They banned me
They banned me for using my code more than once because I had a guest code lmao i Didnt know thats not how you used it they said I read the emails they sent but I didn’t even see they sent me a email and the staff was rude so we went to a new gym gym group isn’t even a good gym there water machine was broke we was paying for the hole time we was there and the gym wasn’t that good
Contact the gym
All in all I love the gym and app is easy to use. My issue is that the fitquest machine hasn’t worked at my gym for a fortnight now, (it just says it’s being upgraded) it’s how I keep a track of my progress. At the times I go there is no one to ask what’s happening and there isn’t a contact feature in the app.

Been coming since the beginning of Aug. Nice clean gym and great instructors. Plenty of classes to choose from. App is great. Easy to use
Scam gym
I feel cheated, I was charged £24.99 for the ultimate plan which was advertised £20.99, I also applied the NJF promo code to waive off joining fees and when I reported the issue, I got an automated reply by a bot. The customer support is nonexistent. No human interaction either in the gym or online, dystopian.

Gym visits/activity not being tracked
For the past few weeks my gym visits have not been tracked on the app despite me going daily, now I can’t gauge my progress. The technical team are no help either

Not working properly
I’m unable to select and manage gyms I have joined the ultimate option and it’s said I don’t have access to select and add other gyms. Isit a glitch ?
Recent changes
Really enjoying the longer 45 mins classes.
Changed my membership without checking that one d rejoined.
Such a faff and the agent contact / bot is useless. Asked about my membership and it said I’m sorry you want to cancel. Rubbish app.
