Life saver
This app is so useful for prospecting. Being able to mark out locations we can map out our boundary lines, make sure we don’t cross into areas we aren’t allowed to go, mark locations of where we found the gold and most importantly mark the camp location and be able to track our route and prospect in the outback without worrying about getting lost !!
App not working
Pete The trilobite app when recording starts just randomly recording when stationary I have been trying to sort this out for a week Deleted the app and reinstalled it in that process list all the history , its still doing the same thing Tried to connect the developer but is uncontactable by email no phone number and could find any YouTube videos.
Great app - ‘contact us’ currently not working
Great app. As a geo I have an ungodly amount of screen time using this app and love it; can’t really fault it on anything I use it for. Recently bought a subscription to the VIC gold part for some prospecting but it’s not obvious what the green and orange areas on the map mean as a first time prospector. It would be handy if I could click on the area and it has a name and what you can do there i.e. can you prospect here, like the little coloured occurrences do on the resources database. Tried to use the contact us page on the website but currently not working for me, not sure if this is just a me problem or not.
Frustrating
Downloaded many apps including subscriptions and hardly anything working!
Can’t load App!
This app is amazing however unfortunately all of a sudden it won’t load! This is the second time I have had to uninstall which means I have lost all my tracks and notes etc. Devastated and will have to start again after using this app for a few years!
Best Geology App Ever
I used to be a normal human woman until I downloaded this app. Now I’ve turned into a huge nerd and torment my friends, family and peers daily with geology. This app has helped me explore for commodities and helped my contextual understanding of Australian geology so much. I’ve given 5 stars beca the creator absolutely deserves it. I’d give 6 stars if gravity maps were available also.

App buggy keeps closing
Trying to use app, when I open the app it instantly closes and I am unable to use it at all. Deleted and reinstalled app, started working as intended. Re-downloaded WA tenements map which I had paid $17.95 for and the problem started again.
Apple car play????
Would be awesome if you could arrange for this app to be used in apple car play. Nothing worse that having to stop just to check the app 🥹
Love this app
Highly recommend for any geology or rock hunting enthusiast. It’s a game changer and can save days of hard to find online research. Even when there was a problem the developer addressed it straight away. Just don’t forget to back up your way points every so often. 👍

OutBackMac in WA. Using this App Currently & it works great. Very helpful on new & old tracks. Would be easier if I could display on Vehicle Screen (Car Play) while bumpy driving down tracks. Cheers TJ in WA

Wish these tools were around 20 years ago when we were all using multiple tools in the field to do fieldwork. Hard copy printed maps with grid overlays, topo maps, some in wgs84, some in other grids, matching up by adding 160m east etc etc gps, note pad, batteries, spare batteries, laptop, spare battery for laptop etc. Then pulling it all together when you got back to the office/home hoping you hadn’t lost a note page or got water on your note pad and you hadn’t made an error on coords or confused the utm grid. For a Fieldy that’s been around, I really appreciate the effort on the app and the information provided in the associated guide. It’s also very cheap. Not sure what else reviewers expect from an app like this? Suits me out bush.
Why is it trying to force me to get WA maps I’m in Victoria
When I fist go the app there was no 1 week trial I also got the vic gold map because that is where I am and can’t even run it because All th app wants me to do is buy the WA map too I don’t live or am I going to WA so why would I need that map and even if I do get that map is it just going to want me to buy another before it will even let me start using the app? Otherwise just sell the app for the price you want so u can actually use it.
Good app when it wants to work
Been using this app for the last 2 yrs and as of writing this the app has stopped working every time i go to open it automatically close and i am not the only one a lot of other people are having same issue please fix

Been working fine up until recent update, crashes when saving pin drops. Not the best time for issues given it’s the start of the WA prospecting season. Edit** Bug fixed working perfectly again, thanks David
APP NEEDS FIX URGENTLY
Excellent tool … until this week! 🙄😡 To David Collins the Developer from one of your devotees… Your subscribers would appreciate a little communication regarding the present problem , cos put simply, we’re not getting the service we’ve paid for. And BTW, it’s peak gold prospecting season, if this app is not fixed asap, they’ll be some unfortunate lease transgressions , someone’s gonna get shot! blood on your hands, David Collins … lol

Won’t run on IOS 17.4.1. Loved it previously, and luckily it still works on my old iPad running 15.8.2.
Does not work offline
This app is supposed to work offline but it will not load up any maps when offline. It will show me all the mine dots, but nothing else except a grid.
A must have
I’m aRelatively new player in the gold prospecting field, and if anyone needs the upper hand than this app is the way to go and after seeing the problems last week and thankfully it is now been rectified. There is a lot of people who rely on this app for their gold prospecting adventures as do I. Thank you , keep up the good work.
Crash ! Location
Was 100% into the app then out of the blue the the app would crash when pinning a location! All data gone by the time you scrolled response! Now every time you mark a new location the application crashes and has to be reloaded
Data layer
Great app use it heaps. Recent update (not sure if it an iOS or app thing) and have noted the data layers section is missing so can’t see or add layers as I have in the past?

App has been good up until last week. IOS update has caused it to crash and the developer hasn’t publicly stated what they are doing to fix it or when it will be back online Poor communication

Keeps crashing when you open the app
You guys need to sort out the last update. Ever since that update the app crashes, opens the app for a split second then crashes back to my iPhone Home Screen.
Good app missing key
Overall the app is good but I would suggest a key of sorts to state what is what when it comes to rivers lakes, roads, dried up lakes/etc

Trilobite won’t load onto most I phones.. and has repeatedly crashed and I have lost all my data points and information.. no good..
Great app BUT why tracking at all times & could do with CarPlay
I have been using the app now for quite a few years and find it very useful. So far I have used it in WA, SA, NSW and VIC. Having said that it is not evolving, in particular; 1) It is till using location services ALWAYS time rather than the preferable While Using the App. 2) I often use the app in car, (thats why its talking to me) so why no apple car-play. I am often scatting with local laws as I drive around looking for outcrop looking at the phone and my GPS. 3) The overlay features between roads tracks and satellite are poorly resolved. Given the great public domain satellite I use it al the time. 4) What’s with state boarders? We have to toggle maps and then colours are not consistent. Try looking for outcrop near Mildura! 5) It would be great to be able to make layers invisible. If I am only interested in the Blanch-Town Clay-stone then being able to see the roads and satellite imagery around would help. 6) Unify ages so they are both named and have numeric values. If a stone doesn’t keep rolling it will collect moss.
