What people like
- Works perfectly offline without cell signal
- Great for planning complex hiking routes
- Accurately tracks distance, speed, and time
- No extra fees for both islands
What they complain about
- Apple Watch offline map downloads are broken
- Customer support ignores your emails completely
- App crashes and deletes saved routes
- Purchased maps disappear after changing devices
Great map
Love to be able to leave a track and save on the go, pictures directly onto the map. Coordinates and time logged by itself.
Damned hard
Not remotely intuitive, very hard to easily and quickly plot a motorcycle route, if you’re not careful it will route over private farms and closed forestry roads . Instructions are so complex and long, I cannot carry them all with me and while having a coffee I have no chance of plotting a new leg while out riding. Very unhappy.
Goed
Essential map, full of info.
Walking, tramping, mountain biking, photography, exploring, finding names of hills, mountains, rivers. You name it - useful all the time.
Works but NOT intuitive
Many times this app picks the wrong walkway. Adding a marker you have to hold and move it down as it’s always off. I kept having to go between google maps and this doing the coastal walk. Google maps had the council cliff walkway but this did not.— 4.99 hiking add on is only for Dutch and apple refused to refund… red marker worked 80% time accurately when I was on banks peninsula, NZ. Failed twice and totally misread the route
Oftast bra
A very good map app
Great app - I’ve used it for years for work as a courier driver and for planning tramping trips in NZ. Great how it does both island straight away and doesn’t make you buy them separately like some of the other topo maps. Just a good product. The only minor glitch is sometimes when I’m zooming in and out on my laptop version of the app, the app freezes while trying to move. The solution is to zoom in and out again and then it will behave normally, so must just get a bit buggy sometimes. Could also be my operating system.
SHAM watchout
hiking nodal netwok in app purchase is ONLY for netherlands and it does not say this. No refund is possible. SHAM !!!
Recensie
1
Ointuitiv och opraktisk
Planeringsverktyget förbrukar livstid förgäves
Fijne APP
Great app
Just need some more New Zealand integration since you can’t plan routes using nz walking traces but no other app supports so fair enough
Don’t waste money on layers
$5 for a mtb trail layer with about 10 tracks over the whole of NZ. RIP off! All they have done is steal peoples routes and then sell them on… I used to like the App in general but now I think I’ll delete it and just buy a map… at least that won’t rip me off!
Gedownloade knooppunten
Topo purchase
I purchased this already but I have a different email and now I can’t restore my purchase
Baffled
Too hard to use; too little control over zoom. To judge from the instructions this app seems to be trying to do more than is compatible with a phone screen.
Great little app
Great little app that records where you have gone so you can trace your way back. Works off line and while your screen is off and you are out of cellular range. Well done to the person who made it. My husband carries it in case he needs to travel his rout back. I downloaded it after getting lost and having to rely on cell reception at the top of a hill to figure out where I was using google maps and a compass app. I could barely get reception. If I had had this it would have been so much better!
Peter
Disappointing for NZ as no distinction between walking/biking tracks and very few cycle paths or mountain bike parks and tracks visible even after purchasing the additional biking tracks….look at the maps for Drenthe in the Netherlands to compare. Not worth the money for me.
Fantastisch
Was expecting something else
I’m quite disappointed by this app. I’m a heavy user of the BayernAtlas, and I was expecting the same level of quality from this app. I’m especially missing the hill-shading, and more zoom levels, like the DTK10. The way it is now it’s really hard to use for exploring and navigating.
Locatie onnauwkeurig
Map requires Updating
The recently opened Transmission Gully, the new part of State Highway One, SH1, has been installed by other map suppliers, even before it was opened. The old part of SH1 is renamed SH59. I have emailed you several times but no response. Is you company still operating?
App does not work with Apple Watch!
App is pretty much impossible to work with Apple Watch, as it does not auto download offline maps on the watch, you can spend a whole day having to turn the crown to manually keep the screen open to keep the download working. And then if the app manages to close or any other fragile thing, tje download stops permanently, then you have to delete maps progress and start again. This can take weeks and hundreds of petty hours of turning crown to get it to work. Absolute garbage
Update needed?
I love this app, especially the way I can manage waypoints with different icons, folders and photos. But when I updated my Mac to OS 26, the waypoint menu (the three dots) is no longer visible when I open the waypoint column. Is there another way to manage waypoints (for example ”select all”) on the MacOS app? Perhaps an update is needed? It still works fine on my iPhone.
Best Topo map app on the market
Great easy to use and can do complex route tracking. Only wish is for CarPlay support!
Need Assistance
Tried to express my problem in a discreet way by attempting to contact you directly. That was a problem in itself. Tried to update my paid Topo GPS app. When I failed to achieve that, I deleted it and went to reload. Now it won’t download. Just hangs then show’s the cloud icon. Please help. Sincerely Michael Cunningham.
Nearly perfect
Very useful. The route planning is not quite as intuitive as you’d want
Swedish maps
The app itself is good. However, I purchased the swedish maps and they are simply not high enough resolution (zoom level) to be usable for hiking or walking.
CarPlay please
Love the app. Works incredibly well. Would love to see it work with apple CarPlay.
Great app
Really useful app. I use this app almost daily
Good map but with bugs
Good information but app crashes and deletes all saved courses. Have had this happen multiple times.
Excellent programme
Works smoothly and provides all the data I need.
Very good but
Incredibly useful in the outdoors. Grid lines would really improve it as a navigational aid.
Meets my needs!
It’s my go-to app for planning routes then tracking my actual footfall and later analysing the data for distance, speed, duration and timing. Highly recommend.
Rip-off
I bought dozens of maps and the majority disappeared when I traded up my iPhone. Not all disappeared, so it’s obviously a glitch in the app. Trouble is, there seems no way of contacting anyone to get things put right. My advice—don’t waste your money on these maps.
Incredible App
Works extremely well. Would be nice to have grid lines as an option to get an idea of distance but other than that it’s great.
Review
This app cannot downloaded hut locations in NZ
No CarPlay
Come on developers, make it more useful for car and 4wd users by providing Apple CarPlay functionality. I corresponded with them a few years ago to request, but still not done. Otherwise an excellent app with no real competition (perhaps that’s the problem).
