Old versions dont Erik
Used for years. App is ok but we Reset a device, and now it wont open. We have the option to download older versions of the App in the App Store but they download and then wont open at all. Tríed to contact Smores, cant vía their website. We are página $80 a year, you would think they would ensure we could use it :(:(:(:( help!
Great concept
The concept and what you are able to do is great. But the app freezes regularly, requires closing to refresh when a chore is complete, sends unwanted notifications with no way to turn them off, and has a tutorial screen almost every time I launch the app.

I love this app. I have been searching for months and have found nothing worth getting and that works for our family. Thank you to whomever created this app
Use to be the best
Used to be the best app. But the feature a photo proof no longer works. I’ve messaged Support about it, and it was never fixed about four months ago. Also, I wish that they gave an app a update to where is less chaotic and more of a modern design.

App Crashes
I really enjoy this app, but it is crashing all the time for everyone in my family. I have tried contacting support 3 times since the beginning of August and have only had 1 response back.
Need help with set up
How can I add additional chores? I accidentally discarded some chores during set up.
Actually, the best chores app ever
I’m a single mom and I have tried and tried and tried these chores apps so many times! None of them are as phenomenal as this one. This one has been a charm and my little guy is finally up and helping around our house! This gives the kids a sense of freedom and helps with him really feeling like he has a job and completes it when he’s finished! He looks forward to the $10 and $20 gift cards to his choice of store that I put into the custom rewards part! Thanks so much s’mores chore chart! We love you!
Very confusing!
I really wanted this app to work, the idea is ok.. but they made it way too complicated and confusing! I was there for 10min trying to simply add a chore and assign it to my child. There are too many options and buttons making the experience confusing and frustrating!
iPad format
Would be cool if you could format this to fit the iPad screen.
Missing Photos
The app was working great for us but lately the photos the kids take haven’t been showing up. Since us parents are usually at work when they are completing chores and then requesting time on devices etc for completing it makes it difficult to approve with no photo proof.
Adding chores
Why is that when I go to add a chore there are soooooo many categories that it glitches around and many categories are duplicates with no chores listed? Very not helpful!
Great App! But Keeps Crashing On iPad
We have been using this app for the last three weeks and my kids absolutely LOVE IT! They are so organized and have been looking forward to checking things off. I was surprised how much they appreciate the badges and family message board. Only issue I’ve been having is: we leave an iPad mini in our family corner...where we keep school newsletters, sports schedules, etc. and the kids have been using the iPad to log in and manage the app. Our kids don’t have their own screens so this was the only way I could let them manage the app outside using my phone. But the app has been crashing on the iPad all week. Opens, starts to load, then closes. It’s the only app I’m having a problem with so I know it’s not device related. Would love an iPad specific app so it’s more compatible.
Terrible execution
This app had great potential but just doesn’t work. The interface is confusing and busy and the app itself is quite glitchy. The s’mores app frequently locked the kids out, lost their data, and otherwise failed to perform. We finally just switched to having them text me when they finished their chores. We had several great years using RoosterMoney with kids happily, independently completing chores and easy to find rewards and tracking. We moved to s’mores after that App limited use to the UK. I know it can be done to have an easy to use, reliable app. Unfortunately, s’mores is NOT it.
LOVE the app—-Hate the bugs
This app has SO much potential. It has truly changed my kids habits over the past month. However, I feel like I created another job for myself trying to fix the issues and sync problems which defeats the purpose of making my kids self reliant. We will continue using in hopes that one day soon it will be a smoother process. I’ll gladly pay at that point! Oh…and I would love to see an iPad edition…
Love the app when it works!
We got kicked out 3 days ago. I’ve sent multiple emails and messages. NO Response! I just paid for the annual plan because it was working with my boys. Now we are back to square one! I need this app to work!
Almost…
The app is pretty good. But if you need customer support, you can forget it. They responded once and were never heard from again. Our problem is a dealbreaker and if my question isn’t important then I’m canceling the subscription.
I love it! But why is it crashing now?
I love this app so much. I put countless hours into personalizing and setting it up with photos for each chore. And now when I click “mark complete” on a chore, the app crashes. 😰 Please help?

Could not even get signed up. Kicked me out of the website/app immediately after i put in my email and password. Possibly stealing emails and passwords
Needs iPad support
My kids don’t have phones but do have iPads. While the app is able to be viewed on the iPads, it’s clear the app isn’t designed to be viewed on them. This update would be awesome.
No support
We’ve been trying this app out this month. I’ve asked about 10 questions in the last 23 days via their support and haven’t heard a single response for any of my questions. Very very frustrating.
Spelling and grammar are terrible on this app
I’m concerned about this modeling terrible spelling and grammar for my children. “Discared” instead of discarded. “Families saves…” There are too many spelling and grammar checkers available for this to be so significant here.
Thank you for keeping my neurodivergent family on task
We downloaded this app two weeks ago after reviewing chore apps/allowance trackers and this has exceeded all expectations so far. The chores are easy to customize for nearly every need. The only thing that would be nice (that I believe they are working on) is an option to set up the chore to show pending “until completed”. Sometimes deadlines need to be flexible so motivation isn’t lost. My ADHD 8yo LOVES the instant gratification of points upon completion of chores (after parent approval if set up as such!). I can tell if it going to be an awesome tool for teaching money-sense too. You can save points, redeem them for rewards, give them to other family members and also cash them out. As if the chores features were not enough, I LOVE the newly implemented “Do this…Don’t do that” section where you can customize bonuses and penalties. I use this section to track behavior. Things like “Don’t interrupt” or “Help your brother with something” don’t really fit in the chore section where they’re assigned to family members or put on a schedule or due at any specific time. The admin team is actively present on the community page and responds to questions and requests about the app regularly. Keep up the good work, y’all!!!
Bugs bugs bugs
Buggy app on my iPhone 13 Pro. The buttons are off the corner of the screen where I can’t click anything and I get stuck in the same exact page everytime. I have no idea how this app works, it just sounds cool though doesn’t do anything
Only missing one thing
FANTASTIC APP. The only thing it's missing is a chronological order system. If I could put their chores in some sort of a personalized order instead of just grouped by time of day, it would be perfect! The chores with multiple times a day, such as brush teeth, shows up at the very bottom so my kids miss it.
Just ok
I had high hopes for this app but getting everyone connected was a nightmare. It’s not as simple as it should be to add family members.
Great concept, too hard to use
I love the concept of this. I love the pictures so my littles who can’t read can use it. It is so hard to put together a chore list!
We are really enjoying this!
Our family is loving to have a creative and fun platform to make goals as a family, communicate and, work together to take care of all the daily needs. I like that you can tailor the goals to fit your family style. My kids want to save up to go on special hikes and go camping… which are all the things I really want to do with them, but sometimes become difficult while just trying to get all of the chores done and take care of the family and our baby with special needs. Smaller goals look like a tub of ice cream, for an ice cream night. The kids seem to be more understanding of the why behind the chores, and want to work together as we all want to go do these fun things! My incentives will look different than other families but, I love that we have that option to makes the goals to work toward that fit our individual families :) Well done app developers!
Really wanted to use this but…
I really wanted to use this but the navigation is impossible on my phone. Once I click on something, I can’t go back without closing out the app and starting over. The “x” to close isn’t in a spot where I can click on it. I don’t know if it’s because I have a newer phone or what. I have an iPhone 15 pro.

Decent features, horrible implementation
The app looks fairly decent, but has some major issues. It doesn’t support iPad, which is fairly big deal because the UI is cluttered enough that it could easily benefit from the additional screen real estate. The app is somewhat confusing to use. This is partly due to the cluttered interface, but I never figured out how to complete what should be relatively simple things like moving a chore to a new group. There are some good features built into the app and I wish it wasn’t so clunky to use.
Won’t stop charging even after canceled
The app itself is decent, albeit with some quirks. However, we have canceled this a couple times in the past and yet I’m seeing monthly charges again today. 🤷♀️
Love this!
I never leave reviews for hardly anything… least of all an app but this has been such a blessing in my household! I have a daughter who struggles staying on task and as a full-time, working single-mother it’s hard to keep her on track and parent her while I’m away. S’mores up has allowed me to organize my household, hold my girls accountable, and teach them responsibility. I love that there is the option to forego the reward system but for us it helps keeps us motivated! I only wish there was an option to create my own badges and more artwork options there too.
App Broken on iPhone
This app can’t be used on my iphone 12. The scaling of the images is off. The ‘cards’ are too large for the screen, so the buttons at the bottom that you need to press to use the app are offscreen and can’t be pressed. Terrible experience.
Apple Calendar
This is everything our family needed BUT please integrate Apple Calendar for us Apple people. I already use it as shared calendar but the kiddos would love seeing the fun interface of your app!
Cool app but not user friendly
Tried using this app again for the second time, there’s a lot more options now than when I tried using it a few years ago. The fact that the app is still around and has developed quite significantly over the years is promising however many of the “features” the app has, you cannot use or are difficult to use. The user manual and FAQ offers no help as it doesn’t cover most of the newly implemented features such as the “Do this.. not that” and when you try to contact the developers using the options available, like blog posts and support submissions, no one gets back to you. I would definitely consider rating this higher if I could use all of the features that are available, and might I add that I pay for as a subscriber. However, I will more than likely be discontinuing my subscription instead until they make it possible to properly use all of the features currently available.
Interesting Idea: Programming Issues
This app could work for young individuals with neurodivergent minds, except for a few issues: 1) the layout is inconsistent across devices; our phones show a different resolution from our tablet 2) navigation is not intuitive 3) getting to support is a bit confusing and cumbersome 4) instructions for interacting with updated content is not accurately reflected in the “faq” or other “how-to” guides This company could benefit from a bit more oversight and clearer communication. Overall, this is a promising product; but I question where the subscription cost is going.
Great for my teens, one with ADHD
I can’t believe how well this worked! My kids are loving the competition and even collaborating on chores. They get to come up with rewards and negotiate for special prizes. I don’t have to ask them, maybe on occasion give them a nudge. As my husband says, for us, this app is well worth the money. He’s even playing. I don’t know how other parents do it, but they is what has gotten my hard headed adhd kid to get his chores done without a fuss.
Terrible Customer Service
If you happen to upgrade to the premium level, prepare to be disappointed. The app stopped working for us a few days after paying for the upper level and the developers DO NOT RESPOND! Thank goodness for Apple and Amex so we could get our money back. Beware.
Great App for Organizing My Family
This app is great for organizing chores for my family. My kids are super excited to check things off and get rewards. It’s highly customizable for each family. The only problem is it times out every once in a while and has some quirks where it runs slow sometimes. Other than that it’s awesome!
Not intuitive
I tried twice to set this up and make it work for my family but it ended up making me crazy and want to throw my phone across the room.Not easy to figure out how to assign individual chores to each person and not have them on everybody’s list. Couldn’t figure out how to rotate them. Couldn’t figure out how to take off an inane pre-populated task like wash your hands, which might be great for preschoolers but are they really using a phone to track their chores? I was hoping to use this with older kids who have their own phones and they don’t need to be reminded to wash their hands.Maybe this is a great app if I was willing to devote more time to actually figuring it out but it frustrated me so much trying to set it up that I didn’t want to try.
Good but not great
Pros: I love the customization of the chores and the rewards. Offers a great bank of ideas and its easy to set up. All for free! Cons: there isn’t a way to keep kids from switching to the adult account and making changes to their chores. Also when they compete a chore it doesn’t sync to all devices so one phone shows it was completed while another one doesn’t. Makes it kind of hard for all of us to be on the same page.
Engaging and fun
I have a lot of children and all of them are engaged and having fun earning s’mores and cashing them in.
Reset password FRUSTRATING
Absolutely impossible to get any tech support The reset password feature does NOT WORK. I tried it from multiple devices
Very good, but not great yet
So far my kids love it and I love that they we can change chores (add photo and approval etc, that feature is awesome) but here are a few critiques: A bit slow in updating but just got a note about an update? I would like it if the checklist feature was actually just a simple one list checklist instead of always going to the weekly chart. And then in setting up a chore, it would be nice if it didn’t automatically set to take photo or not, or approval or not and who it notifies - I would like it if I could set these settings for each chore. And the last thing I noticed is that not all the completed chores show up in the same spot - some are in notifications, some in family campfire and some in family chores. It would be nice if everything I needed to approve was in one place, like campfire. After saying all that, we actually do really like the app, just needs a few tweaks before it’s amazing. Thanks!
Has potential but needs a lot of work
I just started setting up the app today. As a parent what I want in terms of a chore app is something that’s easy to setup , flexible and allows me to track the things I care about. SmoresUp is not easy to set up. Each task seems to require a due date, but it’s not clear from the interface (there’s no tutorial) whether this should be when you want the task done or when it ends. Sometimes it defaults to a time in the past, but whenever you try to save a task with the default values it gives an error, which is bad design. And why can’t I create chores that repeat forever!??? It’s lacking a little in the flexibility too. Most chore apps allow you to set some type of points reward, this is the only one I’ve seen where you can only choose from 4 preset options (ie you can’t set say 12 points for one task and 15 for another). I do like the community tab and the ‘personal growth’ type tasks. I’m definitely willing to give it a chance depending on what my daughter thinks, but so far hasn’t impressed me
Needs work
The app won’t stay logged in for my kids. Lots of glitches…. Please fix so we can use it properly!!!!!!!
