5 stars
It’s great and efficient, amazing for the whole family. It also encourages kids and teens to do their chores and help a lot around the house!
Cumbersome
Everyday, every single chore that my kids don’t do, the chores ‘expire’ and I have to go in to every chore every day and manually reset it. It doesn’t even count against them on the days they don’t do it. It just shows nothing so their percentage of chores completed doesn’t change either. This was a waste of money.
Good but sometimes buggy
It’s a good app but sometimes buggy and the server times out but usually works a bit later on.
Expired Responsibilities
We've been using this app as a family for quite some time and really love it overall. It clearly differentiates between responsibilities we do because we're part of a family versus paid jobs, and I appreciate that kids can have separate jars for spending, saving, and donating. My main issue: while chores can be set without time limits, responsibilities now expire. If kids don't check them off by the due date, they disappear from the daily view, and I have to go back in and reassign them — which quickly becomes a hassle. I reached out to customer support hoping this could be fixed, but never got a response, so I ended up canceling our membership.
It is slow to load and on the website they just brag
I waited for it to load and on the website the brag
Bff
This app is amazing
So glitchy
Such a good app in theory, but every week there’s a new problem
Great app
Like the app but would love a feature where the allowance is paid out on % completion or ability to edit or delete allowance after payout and daily goal. How these things all influence each other isn’t clear.
Crashes
The app is awful. It’s laggy and when you tried to complete a chore it crashes and closes.
Impossible to cancel subscription!!
I have had this app for a long time, and though it’s very useful, once you subscribe it’s impossible to unsubscribe! I have been trying for over an hour to get the subscription ended, but it’s nowhere to be found. I’m extremely mad!
A Review
I like this app a lot because if my mom gives me stuff to do I can go on this app and look at what she needs me to do so I can do it and not look at our home board!!!
Disappointed
I was really excited about the idea of this app, but couldn’t even make it past the “Create a Family” screen due to receiving an error code multiple times. Such a bummer!
You should make it an Apple Watch app!
This app is very easy to use and is good for assigning chores, it would be better to make it an Apple Watch app instead of using a phone or tablet!
Warning
This appears to be a “dead”. The free app seems to work well. However, I paid for the unlimited / premium version but did not receive any of the additional promised functionality. I reached out to support no less than ten times and have never received a single reply back. The paid version seems to either be a scam or simply abandoned. Ken October 08, 2025
It’s decent
I like the app but the filters make no sense. If there was just a daily calendar with the chores for each kid visible both left to do an completed it would be 5 star. Trying to see the completed chores and what’s left is way more difficult than it needs to be.

Éclater, c’est trop nul, on est obligé de faire des responsabilités éclatées
Poor service
We had trouble logging in and kept asking for password resets. The reset via email never came. I sent 6 emails and no response
A helpful app
I think this is a fabulously thought out app which I’m looking forward using to improve our family life. However, I am struggling to edit jobs and responsibilities without the wheel continually spinning so I then have to restart the app each time which is frustrating. Any chance of an update to fix this please? Francesca
Good Idea, very glitchy
I like the idea of this app, but it doesn’t actually work. Today, for instance, one of my daughter’s daily chores doesn’t even show up in her interface for today. It shows it is due tomorrow. Meanwhile, on my parent interface it shows that same chore due for her today. Lots of similar problems crop up.
I have a problem..
When I got homey and I pressed I already have a family It wouldn’t let me tap it so I pressed the other and it didn’t let me i refreshed the phone then I powered it off still nothing then I apple updated my phone and still nothing! I don’t know what to do because I tried everything any tips?
Homey app
I got this app yesterday it was amazing. Encourages kids to do chores and cheep fee for premium so worth downloading. Extra jobs for the kids available to earn extra money perfect for kids.
Unusable
This app is so unstable that I can’t even sign up. It gives a server error and won’t do anything.
No clue
Cannot even log in. Tried to setup an account and neither of the option buttons for Apple or using an email worked. Deleted
Pretty good
I like being able to enter in my chores and assigning who does the chore. I’m entering the chore list I have encountered some issues. First, if I change the due date then the recurrence, it changes back the due date. It get very frustrating trying to set something to have it keep resetting. Second, when I filter by date it has the chores by week which I love, however it sorts them wrong. If something is due oct 2, it places it in the oct 8-14 week, which is the complete wrong week. Third I wish each chore had the option to check it off, not just the ones due today. If I do a chore early I have to go in and select the options button and then mark as completed. Finally a calendar view would be nice to see a what is happening each day. It helps me to make sure I am putting chores on the correct day

This app is awesome!
Promising Concept, But Completely Unusable
The Homey app looks promising based on its App Store description and screenshots, but unfortunately it’s completely unusable. No one seems able to get past the “Create a New Family” screen — every attempt results in the same message: “Homey Server Error – Error 400.” The developer has claimed multiple times that these bugs have been fixed, but that doesn’t appear to be true. It’s disappointing because the concept is great, but until the app actually functions past the setup screen, it’s essentially useless.
I like some of it but not all of it.
We have been trying it for a week with my kids and I really like that they have to send picture proof. I like that they can work on extra things and not just regular chores. The part we don’t like is the payment and how it tracks the money. I have to pay one child in cash because they don’t have any account because they are younger. The other child I can pay with other money transfer like cash app or Apple Pay. But when I pay them it still shows that they have earned that money. When yes it’s been paid to them but they might not actually have it anymore. So the overall total amount keeps going up on your app. It’s just too much work to track. I want something that I can pay them and then they show paid and things reset. If my kids want to track their money it should be separate from this and not in the same place as this app. I have canceled my subscription from my trial and will look for something else
Needs to fix bugs
The app is great, but I can't press the back button (the arrow at the top left of the screen). When I try to press it, it doesn't work, so I have to exit out of the app and go back in to it again of I want to go back to the home screen. It is frustrated and annoying. Please fix the bug. It is an annoying problem. There are also some problems with other buttons too. If I try to press the mark as done button it won't work aswell. I tried to see if it was a problem on my son's account but it wasn't a problem for him. Please fix this big it is very annoying.
Yay
It makes me want to do my chores!!!!!
Constant error message
I downloaded this app and couldn’t get past making a household bc an error message kept coming up with no explanation of what to do to fix. I tried several times to get it to go past this screen and couldn’t.
I really wanted to love this app
I really wanted to love this app. I spent hours entering all the chores and jobs. The app is so glitchy - every time we switch between kids on the iPad it doesn’t work. It doesn’t switch or half switches. My 5 kids don’t all have their own phones. So this can’t work for us.
Great app but…
App refused to update chores as completed and alert error kept popping up then when I tried to open it again it got stuck at the Homey Logo. Had to delete the app and log in again Love all the features, if you could just fix this issue.
I loved it
We’ve been using homey for 2 weeks and the kids have been doing chores like crazy
Can’t even set it up
Just downloaded and can’t get past an error code to create our household account. I’ll be moving on.
Too Complicated
This app is entirely too complicated for no reason. It’s a chore app for children. There’s no need for it to be this complex. Reasonably priced though.
Slow
This is a great app I’m actually using it for work… I was looking for “grown ups” version but couldn’t find anything It’s a little slow to update and tells me I have new chats when it was me that sent the new chats, which is fine but the new chat notifications don’t seem to go away until someone responds. I also have to swipe the app sometimes to be able to add another job It’s a fab idea I wish I had this when my kids were young
Comments
The problem is I can’t add the money
App won’t work
The app is completely broken on my fairly new device. I cannot create an account, sign in, or use it whatsoever. Deleted.
I can’t even open it
I just downloaded, I keep clicking start new family, I have tried deleting and reinstalling, it is updated and I have a stable internet connection. My device has a lot of storage remaining, I would like to try this, but why won’t it open?? I’m just confused.
Miss the old version
I miss being able to assign points to tasks. Hubby and I made it into a weekly competition for points on the leaderboard. It’s a bit silly for us to reward each other with allowances but the slight competitive aspect with points was really helpful.
Encourages me to get stuff done
The wife runs it, but I like knowing what needs doing. So I get the jobs done and there's a little payoff. Nice user interface. Would recommend.
Can’t create an account
I downloaded this app because it was recommended to me to use to keep help out kids learn responsibility. I can’t even create a login for this app. Every time I click create a new family and fill out the required info, the next button takes me nowhere. I have tried downloading the app on two devices to register and get nowhere. Such a waste of time.
Only works if everyone has a device
This app only works if each person has a device. We wanted to set this up like a command center, but you can’t switch between profiles easily. You have to choose the profile you want to switch to, completely close the app, and then go back in to switch accounts. Kids can not check off their chores from the same device. Don’t waste your money on this.
Good for jobs, but some options do not work
This app is great and works fairly well for us. My son can choose what jobs he wishes to complete during he week, to ultimately run minutes he can use on the PS4. However, one issue I have is with the job settings. I select the 'always available' toggle, however as soon as I go back into the job, it reverts back... extremely frustrating. As I do not want to keep going in and making the job available.
