Amazing company
I’ve had them for about a year and in that year I was hit by a drunk driver, they were very kind and helpful while going through the process and they also have a great app that allows you to get discounts.
Driving scores don’t change
My driving scores rarely change. That’s the whole point of the app. They used to change after almost every trip. My “Safe Speeds” number hasn’t changed in months. The app also dings me even when I choose the “not driving” option.
Loving it
I love how safe I feel and the price! I just wish the app wouldn’t freeze.
Accuracy
The accuracy of the app is crucial to getting discounts and although when I first starting using the app it worked correctly. Now it changes streaks and takes down my score for apparently no other reason except to give me a smaller discount. I have not used my phone while driving and not even when I’m in the car with other bc even if you say you weren’t driving it still penalizes you. My current stres says 9. Which is not true. Be on the look out for a new insurance company as soon as you get HiRoad and only use this company in a pinch. My vehicle was in the shop for a couple weeks. I called and informed them I would t be driving and I noted the app. My monthly bill still went up 30 dollars. Hiroad is a scam that targets ppl that are having a hard time securing another policy. My bill the first 2 months was $180. I drive the same car and use the same driving habits except I drive a little less and I have the same address I had when I set this plan up and now by bills the lat 2 months are above $210. Scam. Actively working with a broker to get out of the situation I got myself into when I signed up for car insurance through Hiroad
Cool, BUT
This is a great app for the most part but it will take your streaks unfairly if you ride with others. Even if you say you aren’t driving. They will take your streaks away. I drive hands free every time I’m on the road, but when i ride with people they take my streaks away even if i select that I wasn’t driving. It’s unfair. If you’re gonna have a feature like that, it should be super accurate.

I enjoy being a customer for this Company. I’m a safety conscious individual; this company not only rewards it’s safety conscious customers but gives the tools to help people make better on the road decisions. Calls are answered promptly, issues or adjustments are quickly taken care of. CSR’s are kind and attentive. The app has no bugs or faults, ( For my iPhone 14 pro max) I really appreciate the care, support and dedication from everyone running this company. Thank you,
App quality
I mean it’s alright, for a new driver it’s for sure a really solid insurance plan. I personally don’t really like the app and what it decides for its “scoring”, of which myself am a bit confused about because if you follow things to a tee nothing seems to change (I’d go as far as to say it goes down), however that is just my experience.

At first they’re 100
At first they keep it 100, then they start putting the screws to you. Seriously how is it possible for your bill to go from $50 a month to $150 a month in a 12 month period, and mind you my car was not being driven during that time because I wasn’t able to drive due to shoulder replacement surgery. So word to the wise…check your bill each month, because before you know it you’ll be having to take out a second mortgage just to pay your insurance. Thanks but no thanks hiroad, you’re not gonna be around for much longer…
app is very slow
the app is almost completely dysfunctional. very laggy and slow.
Can’t progress through sign up
I’m unable to use the app fully because I’m unable to pass the permission page because the app doesn’t allow me to scroll to give permission for the last thing and only has a greyed out option to continue

I got in little fender accident and now they want to cancel me after getting money out of me be careful of this company
Distracted driver rules
I don’t believe that a passengers, use of a phone should have any influence on a person’s ability drive. If that is a determining factor in price rate, that’s unjustifiable.

Use this insurance ONLY if you have NO other options.
Your driving score is totally irrelevant to you receiving a discount. Don’t be fooled by the “potential savings”, you’ll be paying the max price regardless of how safely or well you drive.
Great concept, app has declined greatly.
I still believe in the concept, but the app no longer works correctly. My discount has gone from 50% to 33% - my driving has not changed. I am one of the slowest drivers in Rhode Island but my “Safe Speeds” score is stuck at 73. Customer Service tells me, “The app is working correctly.” Lame! I don’t want to, but it looks like I will be needing to leave HiRoad due to increasing premiums.

Horrible
Horribleeeeee, I got this Insurance thinking I would save in insurance. Especially by driving right and even completing challenges. My discount went from 25% to 1%. Keep in mind I work from home so I don't even drive as often and when I do this app reduces my discount. Even if I'm not driving! I am always making sure I have driving or not driving up to date. It doesn't matter! this app still reduces my discount! If i could put negative zero would! They need to update their app and make it actually work right. its the worse

I'm a passenger most times when working so I'm on my phone sometimes. I mark it as not driving and still get dinged for my rate.

CANNOT LOG IN AFTER PAYING
If i could give 0 starts I would. I went to make an insurance policy and it let me go through every step including payment, only to find out (after payments have been setup and processed) that I cannot log into my account because I have to verify it. Ordinarily this wouldn't be a problem because you would just go to your email and do the extra step and move on with life. Unfortunately though, these ingenious scammers made it so not only did I not receive this critical email, but I cannot find anywhere where I can ask them to resend it. Thus I am now left with the insurance payment every month where I can never even cancel it because I CANNOT EVER LOG INTO MY ACCOUNT. Not only this, but I cant even make use of the insurance IM APPARENTLY PAYING FOR FOR THE REST OF MY LIFE because in order to access the proper documentation, I would have to log into my account which I CANNOT DO.
