A classic
I purchased this app 7 years ago and it was absolutely worth it. It’s a great way to play the game, highly customizable, keeping the game fresh
Restore purchases not functional
I have paid for this app to be ad free, and yet I am being subjected to awful ads, despite me “restoring purchases”
Too easy
Very well done but the hardest mode wasn’t even a bit challenging for me.
Ads that fail to close
Game is supported by ads which is whatever, but the ads are a video that runs a full minute and then it goes into one of those fake game ads and it doesn’t end unless you actually finish the game, and you’re not allowed to do more Sudoku until you complete at least one full cycle of these ads. Just to make it more “fun,” on a lot of the ads the X to close it just never appears, and you have to restart the whole cycle back at the beginning.
great until recently
I've had this game on my phone for nearly a decade if not longer and it has been a go-to staple when I need to destress and regulate a bit. Unfortunately it recently has started spamming me with ads in between games, and I could've swore I paid for this (or for no ads) at some point. Please remove ads and it would be great again. Also a personal preference, I would love more options of an all black background grid.
Ads are totally annoying
I’ve been playing this game since it came out in 2017, and it WAS my favorite. I liked it enough to pay to remove the annoying ads years ago. It was a one time purchase, not a subscription. Now, I’m getting ads again. If you click on app support, it just opens the game without allowing you to tell the developer you have a problem. The cost to remove the ads has gone up to $7.99 and I shouldn’t have to pay it again. The links didn’t work, but the developers responded to an email and restored my purchase. I planned to revise my review from one star to five, but I discovered my one star was ALREADY changed to five. That’s questionable. I’m satisfied by their attention to my issue, and this game deserves a five review.

Good but not great
Overall it’s pretty great. It’s awesome to be able to write the numbers in and the puzzles are great Wish the hints explained more than just giving you the right number. Also the handwriting recognition really needs work and it accounts for at least 2 mistakes a game. There is also no undo button that l can find and that seems like a pretty basic feature.
The Ads are Ridiculous
This game has no business having this volume of ads, especially ones that make you play the game while you wait and have you exit out of the. exact. same. ad. just to get to the new game. Completely stupid.
Adds????!
I have been playing this game for YEAARS. I have completed over 4800 Sudoku boards since I started playing. Now I have adds on my screen, out of the blue. What the HECK????? I am Not paying to have them removed. I will simply delete the app and move on. Thanks.

Overnight this game has become unplayable because of ads that will not leave the screen and cannot be dismissed. You’ve gotta be joking.
Much Better Before Ads
This was my #1 sudoku app. I loved the customization, it was intuitive, easy to use, and the best part of it was that there were no ads. This app was always free and without ads. However as the years went on and this app became popular, they put on banner ads, which I could live with. It wasn’t that inconvenient. Now they have upped the amount of ads, to give you a full ad every time a game is started. The final nail in the coffin, to simply remove ads you pay $7.99! Kiss off. Once again an app that is so loved gets ruined by greedy developers.
Great game but …
I’ve been playing your fantastic game for a few years and I love it. However, I purchased $$$ your app on my older iPad and it is ad free. I have your app on my newer iPad but it’s not ad free. Does we have to pay for your app to be ad free for each and every device we own?

Unusable
What did you do..after playing and completing a game..I get a blank page. For whatever reason the game does not fit my iPad Pro.
Miss the old UI
Tl;dr. Solid app, do not like the new layout and really miss the old one. I really wish there was an option to revert to the old UI layout. This has been my go-to sudoku app for years and the changed layout is messing with my muscle memory. All of the controls that I commonly use are hidden behind an extra click and the notes button and undo button are too far from the numbers. These changes have really made it harder for me to use the app, and I’ve been on it much less as a result. I really loved the old layout, and I wish it came back in some form. The new one feels like it’s sacrificed functionality for a clean aesthetic. The old app layout was really really good. Please bring it back somehow. I like the new home page, and the more detailed stats. It would be nice if I could see all of my stats on one page instead of having to tap through multiple tabs. Maybe bring back the single page of stats as “overall” tab in the stats page?
Completed Rows Gone
I used to love this app, but for whatever reason anytime I complete a row it doesn’t show that it’s been completed. I don’t wanna play with mistake mode, but in the old version, it would show you that you completed it correctly. I want that back.
Almost perfect but the handwriting recognition ruins it.
App is great if only the handwriting recognition using apple pencil was good. You write a 5 it recognizes a 7. You write a 4 it recognizes a 7. It leads to so many mistakes lowering your score for no fault of yours. Fix handwriting recognition and this would be easily the best sudoku game out there. 5 start if handwriting recognition is fixed.

Updated: I figured out how to turn the music off… now I love it. I really like this version of sudoku, but I can’t figure out how to turn the music off… I’m a silence kind of person!
Makes my phone superhot
There's no reason for an app to be this large. I don't know why my phone gets so hot after a few minutes of Sudoku. My son says it's data mining.
Nice app, still has ads
It’s a very beautiful app, and I’ve had it downloaded on my phone for years (since 2017). Customer support has been great too... one time I had a game that buggy, and they fixed it right away. The reason I’m giving 4 stars instead of 5 is because there should not be ads on an app that you have to pay for. They aren’t annoying compared to other mobile apps, but I had an expectation that by purchasing the app it would be ad free. And it used to be ad free until about a year ago.
Doesn’t recognize my 8 with Apple Pencil
I’ve lost so many points trying to insert an 8 into boxes with Apple Pencil.
Good app, unsolvable puzzles?
I find on the higher levels, I often get puzzles with no unique solution. This has been confirmed by running them through puzzle solvers after exhausting advanced techniques and spending lots of time. It kills my motivation to keep trying, because I’m never sure if it’s actually able to be solved without a guess.
Top tier sudoku app
Highly recommend removing ads for the best experience. Great app, very customizable.
Need darker lines
It’s a good game, but sometimes it’s hard to determine where the smaller squares are. The lines for the cubes should be darker to better see where each block really is. Had it, deleted it. WAY too many add and long ones at that. Playing a different version with less annoying ads.
Improve scoring
May I suggest you work on the scoring. It is much more interesting to see your previous high scores, say 3 or 4 or 5. I just got a new high score, and I have no idea by how much I beat my old score. Other games often show the date of the high scores. Makes you want to come back to the game to see if you can improve. Also on iPad Pro, in landscape mode, the ads partly obscure the numbers to press! Could you look into that? Otherwise, good. I like using my pencil. Double tap to switch in and out of notes.
Good implementation with some UI flaws
Fun to play. Interface is annoying because it is too easy to write a number to a square unintentionally. This gives you a free “hint” by telling you that number is either right or wrong. If you are attempting to solve the puzzle using logic alone this gets frustrating. It would be nice to have the option to automatically deselect a square whenever you switch modes. A switch on the screen to enable/ disable asking for confirmation before writing to a square would also help. That would allow the user to turn it off and on depending on what they are doing.
Could be better
Pros: way less ads than the others. The harder levels are challenging. Cons: boring. No daily challenges. No auto fill for the last few boxes.
Amazing, calming!!
This game is an amazing game that calms me and was a great one to help me get started in learning how to solve sudokus 🤌🤌🤌🤌
Too many ads
The number of ads has gotten increasingly bad. You have to sit through multiple ads just to play the next game. Will be deleting from my ipad.
Great app
Very well designed app. The only problem is after the last update the adds will blast with sounds regardless of your phone being on silent or not. Embarrassing if you’re playing a game when you shouldn’t.
Was great, update changed everything
Played this sudoku for years. Suddenly the app changed drastically. No warning, no intro, just different. Maybe if you’re a new customer, this might be a good experience for you, but it doesn’t work for me. Developer says they’re trying to get the option to bring the old style back. We’ll see. I really don’t enjoy it, so might have a new app by the time they figure it out. By the look of reviews, I’m not alone
A “feature” that ruins sudoku
Automatic note removal ruins this game. So now I can just go along crossing off numbers without actually looking. I don’t see why this would be included in classic mode. Nothing like that is possible on paper which is the attempt during classic mode. A lot of apps do this and its weird. Id give one star if it didn’t get lost in other dumb reviews with one star.
Elegant, stable, and feature rich!
This is the best implementation of Sudoku I’ve ever seen. It’s also beautifully designed.
Your + is not respecting the dark themes
If I am on a dark theme, or in iOS dark mode, the last thing you would think your users would want is a bright lighted screen when you press the bottom right hand + button to get to the options that used to be on the screen. One touch became three; plus a glaring screen blasting at me. Just a source of frustration right now 😡
Nice app
I like the app and I don’t really have any problem with ads. However, I was kicked out of the game without prior saving and lost all of my work.
Was better before the update
I’ve been using this app for years and it was my favorite for Sudoku, but the recent update has been unpleasant. Previously I had unlocked every theme and had no adds. When the update happened the adds were back. Fortunately I didn’t have to repay to have them removed. However, there is a big issue for me. One thing I loved about this app is I could change all the settings. I could change all the colors to best suite my needs. I can’t do that anymore. I use Green Mountain theme and had all the colors set to softer shades of green. I do this because bright colors hurt my eyes and give me headaches. Now the highlight is a bright pink color and I can’t change it. I’ve looked at other themes and there’s none that has only soft colors. This may cause me to no longer use this app.
Game is great but ads blast sound
I enjoy the game. Some ads are respectful of the silent button but others blast sound even when the silent button is clicked. VERY annoying; but it is a first world problem.
Treat your players better
Play of game is very good but in the time between one game and the next, we have ads for games like Royal Match that have to be closed 3 or more times after sitting on the screen too long, or games like Solitaire Tres Peaks whose ads just sit on the screen an uncomfortably long time with no option to close it. We can decide quickly enough whether we want to download a game after seeing the ads over and over. Treat us as intelligent fans.
Terrible
Awful update - new numbers placing completely changes the pace of the game making it less interactive, slower and discouraging overall.
Fun but difficulty levels need tweaking
The game is beautiful and a joy to play. If only there weren’t such a giant leap in difficulty between “Moderate” (not challenging for me) and “Tough” (I can solve only ~10% of these without hints)!
New UI changes have made the game near unplayable
New UI updates makes the game uncomfortable to play. The pencil button feels too far from the numbers. Would be great to give the players an option or theme that allows us to use the old button layout
UI Could Use Some Improvements
I like the app but I’m running to some issues that take away from game play. The buttons don’t always register my taps which make it challenging to navigate the UI. Bigger button area would be helpful. Also the ability to tweak the colors of the Themes would be great as I’m color deficient and it’s very hard for me to see when the pencil tool is active or not in my favorite theme. Also the ability to change the color/transparency of the notes would be helpful.
What i have been looking for!
I play mobile games a lot when im bored or waiting for something. Recently i wanted to start sudoku but i have a very particular way i like to play. This app is the only app I have found that: 1. Has full customization (completely free) to a detail i didnt even know I needed 2. Looks good 3. Actually listens to feedback I just want to give a huge thank you to the devs, definitely exited to see what you guys have planned in the future 🫶
How many times do you have to pay to have the ads removed?
I’ve paid twice to have ads removed and now they are back at an even higher price. How it that legal? This used to be my favorite version of this game but no longer.
Great format, lots of levels, easy mechanics
This is a great little sudoku game. Love that there are lots of settings and levels to allow different levels of difficulty. Wish there was a way to erase possible numbers - ie when you “write” a possible number for a square but then rule it out, can’t erase it.
Loved This App Before, Now Not So Much
Best Sudoku App before. Really great for serious players. What’s up with the stupid Poker advertisements? At a high level this is an activity of focus. Super distracting and a joke. We payed for a serious product. FYI: There are some sick videos that link to the ads. Some dude humping a girl. Come on. It just blows the vibe. High level Sudoku is not Texas Hold-em. Please include an opt out for this junk. And the old layout was better. Although I like the spacing and a few of the new features. This review is well intentioned. Ads and placement are terrible
I’m fine with ads to support free versions, but does it have to be a blinking, active ad constantly right up against the numbers for the whole of game play seemingly designed to make me accidentally hit it? AND ads between the games that are sometimes quite long and hard to clear? Was excited for the new update hoping that had been finally addressed, but no! The ad during play is moved even closer to the numbers, the button to access features isn’t even fully visible as it’s cut off at the bottom by the ads. Also, the scoring is wonky-makes no sense that entering certain numbers should be worth more since each box has the same value, the numbers in the game aren’t mathematical they’re just representative placeholders. Otherwise I really like the app, definitely the best I’ve found so far for the closest to replicate the pen and paper experience.
