Makes a real difference
Rail Travel is expensive but the best way to get there by land. If you book in advance and apply the railcard, monies can be saved and a relaxing journey enjoyed. Wouldn’t be without mine!
Problems all the way
My password wasn’t recognised. I created a new one. After 5+ tries it let me into my account to rename railcard. Great! I tried to download it to the app- it didn’t recognise the code they sent me. Finally managed to get it to work only to find I can’t download it to my wallet. So frustrating and such a waste of time

Easy Online Renewal and Use
Our old card had lapsed but putting the new code into App brought up the new years membership immediately. SO simple!
Not recognised
I tried to use my railcard today but it didn’t show the detail and instead a “Contact Us” option because some details were missing. The ticket office didn’t know what it was so I ended up paying the full price. While on the train I managed to establish that the card was still active but it wouldn’t show it. I’ve used it before, but the links led me to Add to App which I did and now I can view and use the card again (without adding any extra missing details). It’s not satisfactory that I can buy the card use it then a year before it expires am forced to reapply to the Railcard app without any prior warning. Bad service Railcard. Very annoyed. I wonder how many other holders have had this similar experience.

Railcard paid for itself after two trips, I use it three or four times a year great discounts on ticket prices
Should be unnecessary
I should not have to use the special Railcard app at all. Should work with Apple and Google wallets.
Great concept, but not in practice
The Railcard app is the way to show that you have a railcard, so it’s pretty crucial that it works. Unfortunately, it regularly lets you down, stating that a photo is missing or that it cannot be loaded. Fortunately, conductors are used to it…

Card excellent buy renewal process is rubbish 😡
I experienced a complex and frustrating renewal process. Initially, I didn’t receive the code, and when I requested a new one, the app crashed, causing the screen to go black and freeze. After checking my credit card, I saw I had been charged, but I never received the renewal confirmation email as promised. I had to request another code, which I then applied. After restarting the app, the card had been renewed, but the entire process was stressful and unnecessarily difficult. When charging a credit card for a purchase, customers expect the app to function properly without having to troubleshoot and fix failed transactions. This should be a simple, reliable process, not a source of frustration. 😡

Awful experience many errors in the software … not clear how it works took multiple attempts to get it to work. A disgrace…. Both my wife and I both had the same awful experience… we are retirees with life long careers in IT. Absolutely the worst application I have seen by a major institution.
Sets brightness to 0 when exiting app
When switching to another app, this app turns the brightness of your phone to 0. There doesn’t seem to be a way to turn this off. At the very least, the app should remember the old brightness level and restore it.

Needs an active connection
Total pain needs an active connection on the worst connected network in Europe.
Fit for Purpose, but Cumbersome Renewal
For the purpose of showing the Railcard, there isn’t much for the App to actually do, and it serves the function of being a digital card. The renewal process however, was cumbersome. When your card is about to expire, it shows a notification of “expiring soon - renew now” which redirects you to the website via browser. But the browser doesn’t prompt you to login from that redirect until you finished all the steps before payment - then it asks you to log-in and then you repeat all of the previous steps.

Clumsy approach
This simply needs to go into a digital wallet, not a clumsy, clunky App. We are now in the 2020s after all. Must do better ....

Easy to use . Good app
Renewal code invalid
Given a simple 6 letter code after paying £80 for a 3 year renewal and being told ii is invalid. I did not buy through a third party supplier, and still does not work switching off and on. Sort out your IT!
Dodgy Cookies/ No Apple Wallet Support
Disappointed that rail cards can’t be used in Apple Wallet Description of cookies is spare and dodgy.

Not sure what the problem is but I couldn’t open my car on my iPad message said only 2 items can have your details …. But only 2 items had my card details 2 emails later I was told delete the app reload and use code in the email. Then the day before my trip I checked my phone and the exact same problem,,,, what’s is going on

The fact that you can buy a railcard any time of day or night is a boon in itself. However, considering that two people are involved, they should make sure that a copy of the card is kept with both. This way if one of the Phone runs out of juice there’s always the other one

iPhone installation
This was complex for the following reasons 1 As Canadian tourist I do not have an UK address which means I can’t place a postcode that work on your system it will not except it. Please change the logic using the manual input for address except foreign postal codes. 2 For iPhones you should be able to place the railcard in your Apple wallet just like your boarding passes can.
Not user friendly to non-Brits
We have, after workarounds, successfully purchased a Two Together Railcard, but it should not have been so hard. The app is a front end to a web site, and one of the first things one must enter is a UK address and phone number. It will not accept my US data. So the workaround: provide a valid UK address and phone (we used our first hotel destination). The billing page allows for a different address and if you scroll down far enough, you see “country.” Hope dawns! Here I was able to provide my US address and the rest went okay. As part of confirmation, they do repeat validation instructions. It’s a neat result (we find out for sure in a few weeks), but a confusing script.

What a ridiculously complicated way to have a digital card on the phone (e a separate app). Why not just have a normal digital card?
Apple Wallet Support?
It’s a little archaic to see a “membership card” app without support for Apple’s Wallet these days. This is the only card that I now use that needs its own separate app which is a little annoying. It would be significantly easier if it was supported in the iOS ecosystem better.
I’d give it 5 stars if it offered APPLE WALLET
Great app and easy to set up. Just very strange it wouldn’t come with the ability to store your membership card in Apple Wallet.
