First time used Trainpal app the journey it produced was excellent perfect timings no problem with the split tickets.
Absolute con merchants
They send you links to share with your friends to download the app, offering you £30, when you do share you get 0.01p!! Loads of friends and the same issue. I’d used this app loads before this….just deleted back to Trainline for me!!!

Terrible, the app is now unusable on my. 13 inch M4 pro ipad. Adverts now pop-up that you cannot exit out of thus I am now unable to buy my train tickets! 🤣 very smart developers 🤓
Lies about discounts
The app does offer cheap tickets but it lies about referring a friend to get £30 off. You’ll never get the £30. Not sure that’s legal in the UK…

I’m still waiting for a refund from 14th Aug to today which is 31st. So slow!!!!!
Promos are a bit of a scam
Easy enough to use and allows you To add tickets to Apple wallet. What I don’t like is the fake promos. Most of the promos in the promo section are unusable and doesn’t give a reason. The spin to win has reset itself despite inviting friends to join and install the app. The best thing about the app Is that there are no booking fees.

Much cheaper than other companies that charge a booking fee like Trainline . I’ve not got used to ticket going into Apple wallet seamlessly yet
Unjustified Booking Fees
I’m really disappointed with TrainPal. For the past year, I’ve been able to book tickets by through my web browser the without TrainPal charging me a booking fee. However, I’ve recently found that whenever I try to book through the website, I’m now charged a booking fee. I don’t like having unnecessary apps on my phone and prefer to use services through a web browser. I don’t think customers should be penalised with additional fees simply for choosing to use the website rather than the app. It’s disappointing to see what was previously a straightforward and fee-free booking option change in this way. I hope TrainPal will reconsider this approach and offer the same pricing regardless of whether customers use the website or app. Until then, I will be using another ticket provider.
Too many notifications
Good app, good deals. Biggest downfall is the constant notifications, even when you aren’t going anywhere I get like 20 a day it’s so annoying. Had to mute it. Oh! And the AI use is crazy

No travelcard?
We travel to London quite a lot and use a travelcard but unable to find a travelcard on the app so can’t really use it?
Okay app, absolutely dreadful customer service.
TrainPal is great for finding affordable tickets, but my recent experience has completely changed my view of the company. My train was delayed by around 1.5 hours before eventually being cancelled, leaving me waiting over two hours and taking around 3.5 hours to get home. Despite the disruption being completely outside my control, TrainPal refused my refund/delay repay and repeatedly tried to shift the responsibility onto me and Trans Pennine Express. I was eventually offered a £5 voucher, but only if I spent over £25, which felt incredibly dismissive. A special mention to Daisy and Elric for what I found to be abysmal customer service throughout the whole situation. After an exhausting 20–30 emails back and forth, I repeatedly asked for the correspondence to stop, yet the emails continued. At that point, it genuinely felt like it was bordering on harassment. I’ve used TrainPal in the past and remember the customer service being genuinely good when the app first launched, but sadly it seems that as the company has grown, the customer service has gone downhill dramatically. The app itself is great; the way customers are treated when something goes wrong is not. No doubt I’ll now receive another reply to this review with an excuse or some smart response, and judging by the number of emails I’ve already received, I fully expect that correspondence to continue. So, be careful where you put your money. There may well be other train or travel apps that offer the same convenience without the headache. Thankfully, I don’t live in the UK anymore, so I won’t have to find out. 😏
Much cheaper than TrainLine
TrainPal’s split ticket feature is so much more advanced and sophisticated than other apps, meaning that journeys come out cheaper. And I can often upgrade to an open return for only a small amount of money. I’ll be getting all my tickets through TrainPal now
AVOID TRAINPAL & app
PLEASE AVOID TRAINPAL. Hope you see this before you book tickets with this company. Firstly my discount code disappeared at the point of booking tickets despite multiple attempts, so that the price increased out of nowhere. After trying various ways to make this journey cheaper (split ticket, group saver, discount code) still £15 more expensive than rival Trainline without any codes used. Made the mistake of checking the competition after buying so submitted a very straightforward price match request with identical booking details . First of all immediately rejected by what was likely a bot. Resubmitted making even clearer they owed me money, took 72 hours to reject again on completely spurious grounds. Please make my discomfort worth while by it being a cautionary tale ! You will find tickets cheaper elsewhere and if you don’t at least the booking and customer service process will be functional.

Don’t inform you when trains are late
I am basically paying the same price as Trainline but the benefit of Trainline is that I can see if the previous trains have been delayed to help with my judgement making. This gives false sense that trains are on time when they’re not

Good app, one star less for lack of apple wallet export for tickets
Trainpal is a great app, and it lets you book tickets for free(unlike trainline sometimes). The one issue I have is that I cannot export my tickets to Apple wallet in Italy like the other app lets me, and I have to dig deep in the app to get to the ticket after buying it (sometimes with the spotty train internet connections, this isn't even possible). Docking one star for this reason, but solid app otherwise.

Wollte eine Fahrt von Düsseldorf bis Calais buchen. Aber es wurden fast nur Verbindungen bis Lille angezeigt. Hab ich zu spät gesehen. 🙄Ziemlich nervig!!!
Same prices as Trainline but more ads
The app keeps pushing marketing notifications to you. Feels tacky. And if you compare with Trainline it’s the same prices. No need to switch.
Best Train App Available
This is the best ticket and booking platform for train travel available: both within the UK and Europe. There is so much functionality and utility within this app for train travel, coach travel, and even cross-country travel: it actually lets you book a trip and not just a journey. With plenty of discounts and incentives I always feel rewarded using TrainPal for booking my train tickets. Also, it has the best way of optimising your trip so that you save the most money on your tickets. The app also supports integrating your railcard, as well as live train tracking: including cancellations, delays, and platform numbers. I highly recommend this app and TrainPal generally! I switched to using TrainPal several years ago from “The Trainline” because of ridiculous additional charges for “free” changes or cancellations “at no extra cost” that absolutely were an extra cost. TrainPal is far better! 😁
Doesn’t work no support
Tried to buy a Rail card, but the app wouldn’t validate the purchase. It said you had to buy a ticket. Which you couldn’t do without a valid Rail card.! catch 22. Support was hopeless. The AI bot just kept telling us to validate it and it was impossible to get through to human Support. Two days of our life wasted utterly useless

Scoperta attraverso i social. Svariati sconti, possibilità di guadagnare ricompense, tiene costantemente aggiornato su eventuali ritardi e cambi dei binari. Però una volta salito in carrozza il qr code del biglietto non è stato preso e solo dimostrando la mail mi sono salvato da una multa. Francamente ritengo che sia una grandissima pecca. Spero risolveranno.
Applicazione con sconti ma pochi servizi
L applicazione permette di risparmiare qualche euro ed è ben fatta Ma piena di pubblicità e nel momento in cui serve fare una modifica data/ora non sono presenti altre tratte per procedere con la modifica. Alla fine bisogna fare la modifica in altre applicazioni appartenenti alle compagnie scelte, perché l applicazione trainpal non aiuta

Constant Spam Notifications!
Someone in marketing decided that the way to drive sales is to constantly harass users. Had to silence notifications for the whole app because it was asking me multiple times a day to buy more tickets! No one should trust an app which treats its users with such disrespect and desperation.

This is truly a money saver. First time using it and will recommend it to all of my friends. Only downside is that it doesn’t have the option to pay with PayPal, nevertheless, it has Apple Pay which is already good Keep up the good work. ✌🏾🔥
Achtung Gleis teilweise falsch
Ich find die Idee toll!! Aber leider stimmte einmal das Gleis nicht und das war fatal für uns, weil wir uns drauf verlassen hatten. Dort fuhr aber doofer weise der Zug in die andere Richtung.

Constant notifications
I get 7 notifications all come through several times a day spamming me with “go to the train station?” It’s very frustrating and the discounts don’t make anything worthwhile.
Easy to use
Very easy to use and amazing discounts. Only flaw that the payment card owner must be present to retrieve tickets at the time of travel vs using paypal on other site gives option not to be there as any card accepted to get the tickets.
Great until they got sanctimonious
Use the app to buy most tickets. However recent transactions have been frustrating. Just after paying, a pop up screen directs you to share how much co2 you are theoretically offsetting on social media. There is no way to access your tickets or review the purchase at that point without killing the app and relaunching. Not everyone wants to be a sanctimonious twit on social media. Give it a break. Going to other ticket sites in the future.

AVOID - SCAMMERS– ONLY PARTIAL REFUND FOR CANCELLED TRAINS
All trains on my day of travel were cancelled. I had an Advance ticket and there was literally no alternative service available, leaving me stranded around 300 km from home. I had no choice but to book another train for the following morning. Despite this, TrainPal only refunded part of my ticket, claiming that the ticket had been “scanned”. Of course it was scanned, I had gone through the station barriers and was waiting on the platform with everyone else for around two hours before the trains were eventually cancelled. Even after I explained this, TrainPal still refused to issue a full refund. Completely unacceptable customer service and refund handling. I would strongly recommend avoiding TrainPal and booking directly with the train operator instead or Trainline Their verbatim response : “The exact refund amount is still determined by the train supplier's rules and settlement. • Because of this, a full refund is not guaranteed, even in cancellation cases. So in simple terms: You can request a fee-free refund if you didn't travel due to cancellation But the final amount depends on the supplier's policy”
