Great and suggestions
This was so fun! I would suggest a place to take notes as you go through the route as it’s hard to remember the details of the suspects.
Fun, but—
This is a great idea, but it more development is needed. Not enough of the locations you walk to are directly involved in the storyline, and the app was very glitchy when starting the quest.
Meh
They only had a few clues that involved real life clues. They had us walk to places only to unlock clues that didn’t involve any clues from the site. It was a nice walk is the best I can say about this game.
Great for families
Had a fun time with the family. Our 10yo was able to work through most of the puzzles on their own! Love this app.

Carcassonne ghost tour
The Questo app worked flawlessly and it was great to be able to use real world clues to solve online puzzles. The app always knew where we were and my daughter loved that we took a photo and it ended up in the end screen. The actual Carcassonne storyline was pretty lacking. It wasn’t scary or interesting, and it didn’t make much sense. Also, the 10 puzzles were mostly very similar letter-number codes. The historical info given for each stop was nice.
Fun Way to Explore a City
Me and my family had a great time exploring the town and solving puzzles! As my mom said, it’s a nice way to exercise both your legs and your brain at once. Hope they add more cities in the future!
False advertising
We discovered this app when looking for something fun to do on Halloween night. The ad we found through Eventbrite made it seem like we would be participating in a combination escape room / scavenger hunt based around local folklore. What we got was a mobile game with walking involved. The “Real World Challenges” generally just take you to a location and read a sign. The actual “story” of our quest was entirely fictional, and not very challenging.
Almost totally awesome
Super cool and fun and simple to use! Expect for 1 thing… the map is super confusing and hard to understand. Please fix that.
App is Glitchy and will charge you for gems you don’t receive
Couldn’t finish a quest I started in Vienna. Was charged for gems I didn’t receive 3 times and Apple refused to refund me all of them.
Fun walk in Downtown
The game was enjoyable, but there was a need for a little more in the way of interaction A character or characters from the book in costumes, at some of the stations would have been nice for fun photos. The game was easy to follow, but it could just as easily been completed at home on the couch.

Terrible Support, Ticket Codes Not Working
The codes we purchased on this app were giving us “invalid” when we tried to input them. When we followed the “AI support” instructions, it prompted us to simply buy another ticket for each of us. No possibility of no ahold of a real person, no assistance at all. 1/5 will avoid using this app ever again.
Fun Outing
I loved this app. I will be using it again. The reason for 4 stars and not 5 is for the smoothness and challenge. It’s not as smooth as it could be nor as challenging. I felt I was blowing through it. As far as being smooth, the story clues in relation to the landmarks were a little random. They could have been more cohesive. All in all, still a fun experience, like nothing I’ve done before.
Was excited until we weren’t.
Shocked to see the good reviews from other cities (4.5+). We did Kelowna and average review among MANY is 2.7. That is a stretch… while I admire the business model, there was simply no where near enough value or fun in the Wizard of Oz game in Kelowna. Cannot imagine a single person doing their first Quest game in Kelowna (like us) would be in a rush to try again… if price was less than half may try again. To call it ‘Escape Room’ like experience is a stunningly ridiculous comparison.
Something different to do
It was great to do something different in a city with only a lake to entertain you. I like the walking but would have liked a bit more connection to the city and the landmarks in the game area. The puzzles and challenges at each stop were good but there was a lot to read with the storyline, song, and “did you know”. I would only include what is needed for the game…so if putting in facts about Baum, have that info used in the game. I think a more adult version is also needed; one that have tougher questions/tasks and maybe some beverages that can be incorporated! I like that it wasn’t competitive or that speed wasn’t needed. Having it self-paced and allowing for a start time that is up to us was also great. It might be an idea to consider a “choose your own adventure” type game where we have to make decisions which then leads us down paths that can vary from others. Or, possibly have it so that when a person or group registers, they can select what type of game they want to do (competitive, distance wanting to travel, pub crawl- type one, harder or easier, length of game, etc). Appreciate that this was something to do on a Saturday morning in Kelowna! Thank you
So much fun!
Me and the kids had a blast on our first hunt. The game had us seeing things in our own city we never even noticed. Definitely will save and use as we visit other cities as well.
Never again
It was all AI and not great AI at that. It was literally just walking with no plot, the “puzzles” were so easy and boring. Will never do this again
Fun city adventure
We had an enjoyable time on one of their one day only events. We brought our 11-year-old and our 4-year-old. The 11 year old had a wonderful time. There were riddles and puzzles to solve and we walked around parts of town we had never been before. The only con was there was road construction that created a diversion, but it was hardly Questo’s fault to not know about the city blocking off streets. There were several adventures we see are available anytime we will probably try in the future.
Zeit ist nicht einzuhalten
Leider sind die angegebenen Zeiten nicht einzuhalten. Man ist mehr beschäftigt zu lesen, zu rätseln und auf das Handy zu schauen. Die Punkte sind so genausten gesetzt, dass man in Gebäude muss. Was ist aber wenn die Gebäude geschlossen sind? Angaben über den Schwierigkeitsgrad sind für Gehbehinderte oder Rentner oder Familien mit Kinderwagen nicht immer zutreffend. Das schlimmste erscheint mir, das eine Fortsetzung am Nachmittag (nach Mittagsschlaf des Kindes nur sehr schwer möglich ist.
Expected more
We played the oz escape in Kamloops BC. I didn’t really know what to expect to be honest, as it was my first time. I think I expected a more interactive experience incorporating the downtown core into the game. Incorporating landscapes and clues of the city into the game. The game could have been played at home on your phone as all it did was make you walk a few blocks which unlocked a puzzle on the app totally unrelated to the city or your surroundings. U solve it, walk a couple more blocks and repeat. Yes, it got you outside, yes it incorporated walking which was nice but not interactive at all which I think I was expecting. My group I went out with made it fun and I enjoyed being out with them but doubt I’d pay for another game again if it was similar.
Murder mystery in Petaluma
This was a super fun double date night, using this program! Walking around downtown at night with an adventurous murder mystery that had challenging puzzles and clues to figure out! So happy we did it!
Waste of money
Spent 80 bucks on an experience for a group of friends and it was completely ai generated and not at all relevant to locations around us

Had fun doing this. Wish it had more real world questions to answer. But it was fun and we got a lot of walking in without knowing it.

Way to get out of the house
It’s a fun app that gets you out of the house and exploring new places. It gives you clues and stories to follow as you walk around a city, like a real life adventure game. It’s great for seeing hidden spots, learning cool facts, and doing something different, whether you’re traveling or just bored at home.

Guys this is NOT fire- it’s all ai, and also like.. really boring- you walk up and down the street to glance at your phone and it’s overpriced for the freaking quest- don’t do it, our friend is the only one that wanted to, didn’t show up, and honestly good on her bc this was really dumb.

Lazy Development
I did a quest in Spokane, Washington, and enjoyed it. The puzzles were fun, if somewhat easy. The walk and architecture of the Gonzaga campus made the experience a delight. I purchased a second quest, and traveled from my home some 30 miles away, only to discover I was being directed back to the Gonzaga campus. While the storyline changed, the developers used the exact same site. Seeing new places, art, history, etc. is half the fun. I reviewed the quest in app, conveying my disappointment, and the developers erased my negative review! Not sure if they can erase this one or not. We’ll see.
Great way to explore a new city in a different way!
Had a great time seeing a different part of Calgary than I expected. Great scenery mixed 8n with a little fun and imagination. Ignore the times on EVENTBRITE. You can pretty much play at anytime.
Good idea, not always executed well
The idea for this app is great ! Access a walking tour wherever and whenever. However they rely on the creates to come up with great tours and the standard isn’t always the same. Some do an amazing job while others can be average, with locations and facts not really linking up or going into as much details as they could.
A fun way to take a walking tour
I love puzzles and I love walking so this was the perfect way to spend the afternoon in Madrid. I saw some places that I might not have visited otherwise and learned a little more about these areas.
Poorly done
I did the murder mystery in Vancouver Wa but stopped mid way because of the poor interaction. I expected an interactive game with object clues that required more skill and not just holding my phone reading puzzle clues and location hoping with no real point. Also bad areas to be in after dark
Great Way To Explore Your Home Town
Had lots of fun doing the The Island Game: Highlights of Roosevelt Island! in NYC. This city is huge and most people don’t see it all. Questo is a great excuse to go to parts of the city you otherwise wouldn’t. The island is small, beautiful, and full of history. Perfect for a self-guided walking tour. The app was easy to download. Game play is affordable and worth it. Tip for players - if a numerical answer isn’t accepted for a challenge question try spelling the word (ex: “one” instead of “1”). To Questo - the starting point for this game is behind the visitor center kiosk but the answer to the challenge question is several feet away in front of the kiosk. This could be confusing for some people.
Murder Mystery in the Woodlands
If you like escape rooms and / or scavenger hunts. This is for you. It is an outdoor scavenger hunt type game with puzzles to solve like an escape room. My wife and I enjoyed the puzzles and the fact we got to get outside and walk around to complete the challenges. Would definitely do another Questo game.
