Can’t even log in

After creating an account, it asked for a code from email to verify. Not a big deal, very normal. However when I leave the app to get the code from my email it resets to the log in page?? It’s a cycle that can’t be broken as it keeps sending verification codes every time you try to go in. Frustrating would be an understatement!

Good for tracking current spending, but reporting and account connections need improvement

In general, Frollo is ok and works well enough for tracking my current expenses and getting a quick view of where my money is going. My main issues are with the historical spending reports and account connections. When I look at expenses for previous periods, the totals are often not accurate because not all transactions seem to be included in the category calculations. To get reliable figures, I usually have to export the data and do the calculations myself in a spreadsheet. I also have to relink my AMEX credit card almost daily, which becomes quite frustrating and makes it difficult to rely on the app for an up-to-date view of my finances. I’d also love to see more flexibility with categories. It would be much better to have categories and subcategories. For example, I’d like to track all my eating out expenses together while still being able to classify transactions as coffee, takeaway, restaurants, pubs, etc. At the moment, it feels too granular if I don’t want separate budgets for each of those.

Set up takes some time but worth it.

Downloaded this app because I needed to be able to track the family spending. Had it for about seven days and already found places where I can save money like cancelling subscriptions that we’re not using but didn’t remember them, seeing the large amount going out on toll bills now we don’t take tolls as much and many other things. This app has amazing potential for saving by supporting a tight budget.

Very good!

This takes some initial setup (a few hours to go through and make sure everything is categorised correctly) but now that I’ve done that I think it will be a very useful app. Some things I wish I had realised before I started setting it up: - You can go into Settings > Security and change how much time passes before your password is required. It was very annoying to enter my password every single time I exited the app (e.g., to cross-reference a transaction in my bank account) so I wish I had changed this setting sooner! - To select multiple transactions at once, go to Portfolio > Transactions, and click ‘Select’ (in the top-left corner). This makes things SO much faster! - To delete or rename new categories you have made, go to Settings > Buckets & categories Also, definitely look things up on the Frollo website FAQ, this app has a lot more functionality than I realised because I didn’t think to look it up! Some suggested improvements: - The multi-select option could also be available under Cashflow when I click on a category (e.g., Transfer In) - When I select a transaction and then exit it again, the “transactions” page seems to refresh and I lose my place. For example, if I scrolled down to April 2025 and selected a transaction to recategorise it, when I exit the transaction I am taken back up to February 2026. It is a relatively minor issue but it would be really nice if when I exited I kept my place on the Transactions page.

Trying to check it out as it might be one of the few apps that checks all the boxes, but fails to get past account creation. Guessing their backend setup is so poor it’s hit-and-miss. Make you wonder how hard they’d try to secure data if they can’t even support the signup.

Very disappointing as someone with ADHD who used frollo to keep myself accountable and had spent multiple hours setting up my bills for the month. I am highly dissapointed. Good but some bugs needs fixing

I wish it wasn’t so glitchy

This app has everything I need in a budgeting app, however it is constantly glitching around my accounts. Today I woke up and one of my accounts was repeated 3 times, yesterday it was one of my other accounts that was no longer updating at all. I’ve just reinstalled the app so hopefully it’s fixed it, but if not I will have to find a different one. Update: it hasn’t fixed this issue at all. There isn’t even a simple way to delete a connected bank account so I don’t know what else to try.

★★★☆☆ Australia · v3.34.0 · 26 Jan 2026

Has potential, but mislabeled too many transactions

This app has great potential but the biggest problem I have is that it obviously uses hard coded keywords to categorise transactions with very poor "matching" logic. I have a Virgin Go account and every internal btransaction to and from that account is incorrectly flagged as a Latitude Go MasterCard payment (likely due to the word Go in the account name!)! With no option to bulk correct this I'd have to manually alter hundreds of transactions to fix.

Not accurate

As other users have experienced, this app just misses large numbers of transactions. In my case I had given permission to track credit card use and could see all the transactions but Frollo was not counting any of them as an expense providing a totally inaccurate net and expense position.

Slow and makes mistakes

This app is a great idea, and if it worked as it should it would be great. For me it has copied some transactions twice, leaving me a double net worth. It is very slow at processing transactions and does not classify them accurately, even after editing them. I have labelled accounts to be excluded from budgeting, but they are still included. I can see all of my transactions, which is great, but I can’t draw any conclusions from it all as it’s all a mess due to the inaccuracies. Other than this it has a lot of potential.

Too many transactions missing

It’s hard to get an accurate understanding of your own financial position if not all transactions are appearing. Too many major transactions were missing from both money in and out. Helpdesk support was unable to resolve the issue and didn’t even bother getting back to me after 2 tries. Yes it is possible to reset connections but then al the customisation is lost. Time consuming

I have had consistent trouble linking all of my accounts, the support team have been completely useless and slow. But more so the allocations of each transaction into categories is always wrong and never consistent and when you say to change all future transactions to that category it never does so each payment that you make pretty much has to be manually allocated to the right category which is so time consuming and never quite accurate.

Awesome

Don’t really understand why some reviews are so harsh. People seem to forget this app is free. It connects through Open Banking, no need to share passwords, and it actually works. I can categorise every transaction properly, set budgets, and see where my money goes in one place. For a free app, this is seriously impressive. Clean interface, easy to use, and does exactly what I need. If you just want to track spending without paying for fancy extras, this is more than enough.

★★★☆☆ Australia · v3.31.0 · 2 Sept 2025

Could be a great app

I’ve been using Frollo for about a year now and find it useful, however there are a couple of features that are a constant annoyance. The option to recategorise current and future similar transactions is a complete waste of time as none of the changes ever ‘stick’ and so I am constantly having to recategorise even recurring identical expenses. Also, the budget feature is good but it doesn’t easily allow you to look back over previous budget periods or easily see an average, long term spend (for example over a year) in less you reset the budget period. If these issues were fixed I would happily pay for the app!
