Sub par services with rude drivers
Used to rely on this service in Chennai for years, but lately it has gone completely downhill. The drivers have become shockingly rude and careless. Had back-to-back terrible experiences recently, that too while traveling with a pregnant passenger. The drivers were driving recklessly and completely ignored us every time we asked them to slow down. In one trip, the driver literally pulled over in the middle of the road and disappeared for 20 minutes to have lunch—even after we repeatedly told him we had a train to catch. To make things worse, that detour increased the fare by ₹200. Since we were in a hurry to catch our train, we had no choice but to pay it. Zero accountability and absolute harassment. Never booking with them again.

No show on Sunday 26 July
Morning 6 am I had booking while driver calls at 6:00 hrs to say he has a flat tyre. This is 2nd time when early morning bookings are not met. Seriously Red taxi is going the OlA way it seems

I'm in Trichy. I have travelled nearby cities as well as outstation really good experience all time. Drivers are also professional and experienced.

Definitely recommend RedTaxi. Have used service many times now. I will be happy to give 5 stars but I am giving 4 stars now as the app sometimes drops GPS

The cars are CNG - they take all the boot space. It is impossible to go as a family to 2 also with 2 bags

Double booking Issue and asked to the cancellation fee
Very bad app experience with Red Taxi due to a double booking issue. While trying to book a cab, the app kept showing the “searching for driver” screen without any confirmation. Since it looked stuck, I retried the booking. During that time, one driver called me, so I assumed the booking was confirmed only once. Then the second booking confirmation screen appeared. But without any proper indication or warning, the first search had also created another booking. As a result, two drivers arrived for the same trip. When I contacted Red Taxi support, they told me that I should have validated the rides properly if double bookings were created. Honestly, as a customer, when I’m in a hurry getting ready, packing things, and managing travel, how am I supposed to continuously monitor and verify whether the app silently created multiple bookings? Also, only one driver called me during the booking process. The second driver only contacted me after reaching the pickup location. So naturally, I believed there was only one confirmed ride. When I requested cancellation for one ride, I was still asked to pay the cancellation fee. I paid it because I didn’t want the drivers to lose income or face issues from Red Taxi for something that was clearly caused by the app’s poor UX and booking flow. This issue is completely due to bad app design and lack of clear booking status communication. Red Taxi seriously needs to improve the booking experience and prevent duplicate bookings during retries or delayed confirmations.
Reliable and Convenient
I have used Red Taxi for several trips and overall it has been a solid experience. The app is clean and easy to use, bookings are quick, and most drivers arrive on time. Fares are reasonable and rates are generally comfortable. I did have a couple of unpleasant encounters with drivers who were rude and seemed rushed. Those were disappointing, but they were exceptions rather than the norm. I’d like to see better driver training and follow up when complaints are filed. All in all, a reliable taxi app with room for improvement - happy to give 4 stars.
No international number or WhatsApp or email option for login
App is supposed to make things easy to book. But the app doesn’t have the fundamental login method- username or email to authenticate. Instead it asks for an Indian phone number only to access.

It is puzzling that a taxi booking app would exclude people with non-India phone number. This should not be a limitation in 2026.

Far better than Ola uber
Far better than Ola uber Hope this continues. One issue - don't make switching on location compulsory. I need to be able to type in address. Like the other ride hail apps.
Worst experience
Worst app ever...booked a cab from red taxi for sightseeing and trip to coimbatore....booked 150km sightseeing in ooty and 80km travel to voimbatore....package came to rs 3700...first of all driver arrived 2 hrs late....next he took another passenger on the road to drop him in coimbatore...didn't took us anywhere for sightseeing....straight to coimbatore....guess how much the charges came for 93km....same 3700...we adked him to wait a few minutes to confirm the price with customer care...he didn't....started threatening....shouting on road....redtaxi doesn't even wanna compensate the amount or anything.....

Neat app, Neat service. Some area for improvements for the app: 1. OTP can be shown in live activities like namma yathri, always a hassle to open the app and find the OTP. 2. Option to turn off unwanted notifications. Don't like the junk notifications thats sent to my phone often.

Be watchful…this company does not refund wallet balance at all. I moved out of TN. Now I am unable to get a refund of my red wallet balance, despite writing to their HQ and to CEO !! What an unfriendly policy they have. I went to Goa. The local similar service provider- GoaMiles refunded all my unused wallet balance when asked and immediately!

Very poor experience with Red Taxi. They repeatedly ignore booking instructions and keep making the same mistakes. Even after multiple complaints, there’s no improvement—just repeated apologies. Not reliable. Avoid this service.
