No Issues for AWHILE
I’m fairly happy with this product. I do intermittently have issues signing in with my master password but it always ends up working eventually. I prefer this method to google management.
Always Crashes
Log-in, added Password and has crashed for several months.
Great when it works
I have to periodically redownload the app because eventually it will stop recognizing Face ID or the master password which I know is correct. Other times I have to log in again because passwords are all blank. But when it works it’s great! It’s integrated within iOS and can select the app to fill in passwords in other apps.
Loading time has seriously deteriorated
I’ve been using this app for a couple of years, but for the last 6 months it takes forever to auto-fill passwords on a site. It opens up and runs face id and then gets stuck and won’t show the passwords. The fix is to close the web browser, go to the avira app, open and verify there - which also takes at leasr 2 minutes to load - and then return to the original website. It used to be so good, but this is just too much friction
Masterpasswort wird bei iPad jedes Mal manuell abgefragt
Eigentlich eine gute App, aber oft wird nicht erkannt, dass ein passendes PW vorhanden ist. Manchmal sehr umständlich. Bei Android gut, Windows unterschiedlich, Apple jedes Mal manuelle Abfrage des Masterpasswortes nervt.
Security Breach
I’m worried how secure is this App? In the Notes section of 1 Avira PWM entry I found this: “Avira Vault Corrupted or Hacked: Username: ******** Password: Happn Minder Website: Bumble/Beeline, Rematch, and Busybee. okcupid/badoo”
Lock out
They will lock you out without a single way back in if you lose your master password. Worst part is they will tell you your master password is wrong when you haven’t changed it. I only regained access through another device I switched apps because of my experience
Dateien Export
In der App existiert keine Möglichkeit einen Datenexport durchzuführen. Die aus dem Browser PW Manager exportierten Datensätze (CSV) können nicht in den PW Manager problemlos importiert werden weil die Struktur nicht passt!
Doesn’t login half the time!!
Correct master password entered yet half the time it doesn’t login and says my password is incorrect. Have to go direct to the app and login, then return to original app I’m trying to access. Fix this issue!! It’s been happening forever on Apple iPhone app, especially when opening through an app trying to be accessed. What’s the point if I can’t get to my passwords? Same issue with face recognition- works only sporadically.

Immer mal wieder, gefühlt nach Lust & Laune, geht die Anmeldung nicht mehr da angeblich das Masterpasswort falsch sein. Manchmal hilft nur Neuinstallieren..

A brilliant bit of kit. Have this over multiple PCs and it is brilliant. Simple to use (just don’t forget your master password lol)
Technicians need to update instructions for iOS.
There was no “Keychain” and I wasn’t able to enable Autofill.

My old review can be found below. I recently had a very pleasant experience with Avira PWM where it helped me change a compromised password. Avira (PWM browser extension) made it extremely simple and quick, and guided me through the whole thing. It offered me the old password and a new password without me having to search around or anything. I haven’t tried adding a password using my phone in a while, but the desktop version seems to have been updated quite well. I first want to say that I love Avira and have used them for some time now! I have their professional version. BUT… their password manager, as convenient as it can sometimes be, has major syncing issues. It has caused a lot of account issues with my work and personal use. I will update or create a password and it never saves. At first, I thought it was me, but I have consistently tried to do everything correctly. It has happened enough that I know it is the app!!! Please fix this!! This is not a new issue. I read other reviews with similar issues.
Where’d my passwords go???
I’ve been using this for several months. All of a sudden it wont take my master password and kinda pushed me to change it or create a new one, so I did. Now my original one and all my passwords is gone - POOF!! Cant find it - seems it got overwritten by a whole new one! Wth?!? Not using anymore, that’s for sure!
The app randomly stops behaving.
The app started acting tremendously stupid, annoying enough requiring to access it multiple times often in only a few minutes, but then the same master suddenly starts returning as invalid. The exact same means of access works outside the app, however, the app became pointless to have as it no longer works.

Cannot Copy
2). Cannot Copy and Paste a full word of it contains special characters. Similarly cannot Copy a sentence or a paragraph. It gets stuck at the first word until it reaches a a special character or the end of the word. Please fix this issue. Thank you. 1). No way to change phone number
A method to change your phone number is drastically needed.
Brilliant Idea, incomplete execution
Free password manager, working across devices with options to securely save anything you want. The autofill is great when it works, and the paid plan has a clear use case but isn’t necessary. However, the implementation of this on iphone has been poor at best. I’m routinely signed out within the same day whch is only noticable when the autofill fails despite a correct master password. Upon opening the app to sign back in, I’m met with an unresponsive “logging in” screen that resists all turn-it-off-and-on-again attempts. This has been unpatched since the start of 2025, and if you’re alright manually copying/pasting you’ll be far more satisfied with the web version.

Broken and They Won’t Fix
I had been a very content user of this app for a few years until it recently required me to enter a password every time I want to use the app. It is now completely locking me out and is useless. I opened a ticket with them, but they haven’t made any fixes despite me following up with all the requested information.
Convenient but still need to address kinks
I’ve been using Avira app for about a year and it is very convenient especially when using different devices. I did not like that I had to create two different passwords when setting up which created such confusion and a lot of time wasted. Actually needed a more techy friend to help sort it out. Once that was done it went pretty smooth. I love the fact that I don’t have to remember all those passwords especially since each website has different criteria for setting up a password. However, lately on my iPhone I could not access a frequently used website as it kept prompting for the correct password. I was able to gain access to this same website on my laptop with no issues. On my cell, it should’ve worked but it didn’t so since I couldn’t see the password (only see the ....) when signing in, I went ahead and changed the password to the one that worked and which I was using on the laptop. After changing it to the same old password now I actually think that the password is being generated from my cell and not Avira. I’ll have to consult my friend again soon to address this. Then today I set up a different website and password on my laptop and I was able to see it on my cell with no issues. Weird!
Problematic login
Three times now I was randomly signed out of the account, could no longer login with my Face ID or login. Had to completely reset everything. Just deleting now after the third time. Going to a different app.
Loop error
Overall great, but on mobile (iOS) it often loops on the biometric facial scan at the master key login page. It shows green arrow authentication success but never transitions to the passwords page. It’s stuck at the password login page.
By Far the best password manager
The experience is incredible the free version is just right and the overall password manager is great there is some bugs but it’s worth it
mobile apps dont work
it’s unreliable on iPhone and Android. can’t login, neither through google or just plain regular login. it works on pc . just to let you guys now , this was s how you loose customers. before it was you are not connected to the network and now try again later. nope , save yourself the trouble
Initial setup Question?
I have been wanting to change from Last Pass PWM and found Avira. When setting up account I made my account login and Master Password the same. Maybe a bad idea? After doing that I could not find a place in account settings to change the account password to something different. Possibly this isn’t an issue if the same level of encryption is applied to account login and Master Password?
Confusing
I find registering on a mobile device very confusing. It took me several attempts - exacerbated by the use of multiple passwords
Please fix keyboard issue
I have an Avira subscription and decided to switch to this password manager to get the most out of my account. Although I like the design and find it to have all the features I need, there is a persistent software bug that causes my phone’s keyboard to get “stuck” whenever I go to edit an entry. Even after I save or go back to the Home Screen the keyboard stays in the way and I’m unable to see the full screen. The only way I’ve found to fix it is by force closing the app and opening it again. Please developer address this bug in a future update. If it doesn’t get fixed soon I will likely stop using all together.
I can’t log in
I have been using this app for a long time, its getting better and better with time, the compatibility is great, best overall password manager and 2FA, but I changed my phone and I can’t log in, it keeps asking me to do the re-capcha multiple times and then I get a error code. Please fix this asap, thank you.
Wildly Inconsistent, can’t sign in a lot of the time
The app and service have been ineffective since I signed up. Face ID correctly scans, but does not log you in and will freeze the password field so you can’t login manually. Other times, you’re able to sign in but none of your passwords are available. It shows you have 0. You have to force close the application several times (which just increases the likelihood of having the same Face ID or general login issue) or wait an hour or two before the system decides to show you your passwords. This has completely turned me away from Avira.
Frustrated!
I had encephalitis a few years ago, which has caused memory issues an other challenges. I use three devices so the ability to sync between the three is an absolute necessity. I am confident that I am using the app correctly, however, the syncing seems to be inconsistent. This leads to me having to change passwords multiple times to get it worked out. The Password and Master Password are also an issue for people like me with memory issues. When I first got this app, I loved it. I’m not certain what has changed lately, but I hope we can get it figured out.
Looking for another app
I had Avira password manager and it worked well until I switched cell phones. When I tried to transfer the app with all my passwords to my new device it would ask for a master password which I entered several times. It said I’d have to reset my account and lose all my passwords. I had to get rid of it.
Master password needed every time with iPad
Great for my PC but for iPad it leaves a lot to be desired. Instead of unlocking with your fingerprint or face, APM makes you enter your master password every time you want a username and every time you want a password even for the same site!!! Please fix this!

No longer works
I used to recommend Avira and the password manager to everyone but it is now unusable. Plug in rarely works, always asks for master password, never accepts the correct password without repeated tries, and is so cumbersome to use it’s not worth it. Currently moving to an alternative product. Don’t waste your time
Great app - 1 issue
This I really good app to have and I am a fan of Avira security apps. The one issue I have is with Security Status/Other Breaches. 4 x email addresses were found where the companies concerned have experienced data breaches. I have updated my security for these sites and wish to remove the alerts. If I click on any of the records, the app just closes. Apart from that, brilliant!
Not updating across devices
When I change a password with the web browser extension it doesn’t update the passwords on my phone app, I have to do it manually. Makes it seems useless with old passwords not updating. I have the backup and sync setting turned on as well. I only noticed when none of my passwords worked through my phone and I saw it was all the old passwords. If I’m doing something wrong or it’s a glitch that can be fixed, let me know. Thanks
Not synchronized
Not sure what has happened, but my passwords are not syncing between all my devices like they used to. Very frustrating.
Underrated
This has been a life saver to keep me synced on my work phone and PC, and also my personal phone and laptop. Two passwords are required; a general password and a “master”. So if my password is “incorrect”, I know it’s option B. For a free option, I’m super pleased.
Huge Issue with Master Password
Usually love this app, but for the past few weeks it’s been almost unusable. The app has been rejecting the correct master password randomly, forcing me to delete, redownload, and log back in, at which point it accepts the same master password it was rejecting.
Great and simple interface but some bugs
Been using this app for some time now and it’s a great password manager - simple, no fees attached. UI could be improved. Biggest issue is when it sometimes crashes upon opening.
Won’t let me login
I’ve had my Avira account for over 2 years now, but for some reason this app just won’t let me sign in. I sign in using my gmail. It works on desktop and it works on safari on my phone. The app gives me an error message every time i try to sign in. I’ve been having this problem for months, please fix it!!
Missing some stuff Add contact recovery, Share Vault, File Transfer for Free
Hey Avira! love your app but it’s missing some stuff y’all should add a contact recovery in case we forget our masterpasswords. I also hope you include a share vault so we give our families passwords to subscription plans. A file transfer would be nice as well since we need to send very private files. This will improve your app thanks :)!
Very useful apps

This stupid app won’t update all the passwords on my account.
I have to access my account from a browser (on mobile) in order to view all my passwords. Can someone please fix the API call, interface, or whatever else it might be that won’t allow the apps to download/save all the passwords onto the app? This app is clearly not just polling the account else it would automatically get a copy of all the apps. Instead it only shows 200~ of the 900+ I have saved on the web portal. I use this app to have it called when I want to enter my password on a site. If your app doesn’t have “access” to the database behind the web portal, then by god, what purpose does it serve!? A stripped down version of my account?
Great app but could be improved
The app is great, but there is a big problem when you save a password with a website address, the link is simplified. This is especially annoying when I save a link with .co.uk because it just saves co.uk and not the actual website’s address. If this automatic website shortener is removed, I could put the login page of any website in so I hat I automatically log in every time I click on the link. If this is changed, I would change my review to 5 stars. It would be even better if there was a way to sort the passwords in folders like Enpass.
Keeps Erasing Your Passwords
This works as a password vault, but beware because every time they update, it kicks you out and erases all your data. I have had to start fresh 5 times now. Not sure how much longer I’ll be using if this continues to be an issue. The older version worked perfect. Not sure why they keep trying to fix what isn’t broken.
I paid for a professional membership but cannot access pro features
Hello, I’m writing a review hoping someone can fix my issue. I love this app so I purchased the pro version. However, when I go to the app it still says I need to purchase the pro version to access the features. Apple acknowledges my payments monthly and I see them in my account, but I can’t access any of the features I paid for over a month ago. Can someone help? Thanks!
