Found this app super easy to use and a great way to document our trip as we went. Love the interface!
So Glitchy!
Every review online gushes about this app. I trusted that. And yet it’s the glitchiest ever! The layout is intuitive. Which is great. But published doc is not the same as the one I made. Media has migrated and in some cases, duplicated, edits don’t stick and there are strange artifacts everywhere. I sent a note to “feedback” (customer service) and have not heard back. I’m so disappointed.

App just ok and expensive. It is impossible to transfer maps to friend, the map is accurate on the App but completely inaccurate when transferring. Absolutely NO service from the company so I asked for refund.
Potentially Fantastic but Poor Execution makes it Too Clunky
The only app I can find that combines videos of any length, text of any length, as many pics as you like with a map of your journey as you go. Combined with ability for others to like and comment. However, you can’t see the comments on the app, and you have to sign in to the website version to comment. Then it does sign you out properly so when you sign in again it just shows spinning wheel. No notifications sent of new content nor if comments. Many of my followers have left. THIS IS SUCH A GREAT IDEA OF AN APP, PLEASE FIX IT!
Great travel blog, but!!!
I have found the app to be excellent when it comes to recording your thoughts, activities, and photos and geo-markers along the way. My issue to date is getting any kind of print out from my trip. I have some support contact, but no solutions yet. *Update! The issues I had have been resolved, thanks to the support staff and some time to update fixes. I fully recommend Journo for those that want to record travels in both real time and end of trip editing. Great for geo-location pictures and time stamps, which is a must to keep order in story organization.
More than disappointed
I had been using this for years but their tech support has totally failed. First they wouldn’t print to pdf then I couldn’t enter a cover photo but NOW I have weeks of journal and photos that just disappeared! I cannot get this back. Do not buy this.
Coffee table book
The app claims you can get a coffee table book, but I don’t see how to do that. I thought one would actually come from the company. But it appears I have to print the journal out on my own printer which is not a coffee table book. The description of the app talks about a hardback coffee table book. Can someone please help me?
App was good, support not so much
I had fun with the app in the beginning. Then was a bit of a pause due to Covid related limitations. As I finally get a chance to travel and use the app… I ran into an issue. I had used Facebook to log in. But with all the hate, I decided to end my Facebook account. Well I now find out I can’t log into my Journo account… after I paid for a lifetime membership. I did attempt to reach out, but no response has come. So I guess I’m out of luck.
Solange nutzbar hervorragend - leider überteuertes Abo nach Probezeit!
Ein großes Lob an die Entwickler. Ich habe seit Antritt meiner Reise eine Vielzahl an Reisetagebuch-Apps ausprobiert. Alle hatten irgendwo ein massives Manko. Entweder war es nicht möglich, die Bilder im Verlauf des Textes einzufügen oder einfach seiner Intuition zu folgen und seine Gedanken (egal wie lang Sie doch immer sein mögen) niederzuschreiben. Einige Apps baten eine Zeichen-Limit-Beschränkung. Da ich keine reine Tagebuch-App benötigte, hatte ich auch kein Bedarf an einem überteuerten Abo! Sollten die Entwickler so etwas wie ein Trinkgeld-Button hinterlegen, wäre ich nicht abgeneigt, für die weitere Entwicklung einmalig einen gewissen Beitrag zu geben. ABER leider haben die Entwickler ein überteuertes Abo nach der Probezeit etabliert, wenn die Dauer abgelaufen ist, ich die App wieder löschen werde. Zusammengefasst gefällt mir die App hervorragend. Sogar die einfache Möglichkeit seine Einträge mittels Weblink zu teilen ist eine simple Art und Weise mit der sogar meine Eltern klar gekommen sind!! Aus dem oben genannten Grund, ist die App jedoch Nichts für gelegentliche Reisen!
I love this app
I used this app on a three week Mediterranean cruise. I found it very easy to use and I am thrilled with being able to record my adventure with Journo . Another cruise is right around the corner for me and I am looking forward to recording the next one and every other trip I take with this app.
Viewing Journals on website (by others) is broken and not being fixed
As of the date I write this, trying to view journals (by others) on the web - across mobile/desktop, on different browsers and operating systems - is broken (giving a 502 error) and has been for two days now. No sign it is being fixed. This is a sign of a company with nobody at the wheel. I recommend people abandon this app, which seems no longer to be clearly supported, while you have the chance.

U love to go back and read about my past trips. This app makes it easy to keep up with it during each day of travel. The map section is wonderful to look at as well
A little disappointed
It’s a nice app but the map didn’t work well for me and didn’t seem to be able to be fixed despite me contacting support. I like being able to complete off line entries but sometimes there is a glitch and the pictures don’t upload properly but then I have to re do the entry. I also don’t like the fact you can’t segment/chapter your blog so your regular readers have to scroll through the whole thing in order to see the new content - on a 3 month trip this is tiresome. Lots of my friends and family have had problems trying to comment on my blog. I don’t like the fact you can see via the messages on your profile that people have commented on your content but then you have to log in via the website in order to see what was written. It’s a great concept but the reality doesn’t work so well. I regret paying for this app. The above comments have been fed back before leaving this review.
Not too bad, some aspects need work
It’s ok, however you need to be aware if adding images and video, that the syncing process needs to be improved. It takes so long to sync, and will only sync while the app is actively open. Until it syncs for the first time completely , you will not see it online if you share it, and you can’t export or publish. I had to set my phone to not automatically lock, and left it on overnight to get a full initial sync. Just something to be aware of.
Everything I Was Hoping It Would Be!
Do you know how you download an app and then when you try it you immediately delete it? I did that with two other apps before finding this one. If you are serious about wanting to journal your travels anywhere in the world, this is the one to get. If you love to take pictures and share them with your friends, this is the one to get. If you want to seamlessly integrate your journal with your social media accounts, this is the one to get.
Unable to download as advertised
Once you are in and pay the feature which I thought was great to download a printed book of my journal will not load. No can do to PDF and says working on it. Not even sure the company exists

Love love love this app
I travel a lot and wanted a way to track memories better. I used to use Yelp to remember restaurants/bars and photos that I painstakingly organized by trip. But no way to track my thoughts. This app does it all! And so easy to use. I tried three and this is by far the easiest and fastest way to get the journaling going. So - for those of you who may be put off by the price, don’t be. The monthly subscription is less than a glass of wine and the life time is a good steak dinner. This is what I always tell myself when I splurge on something that I normally would not do. I am so enjoying this journal! So thank you!
Good, but
There was s no support despite daily emails from Journo. No responds to messages or emails. Like others I’m frustrated that i purchased an expensive six month a subscription. It is a beautiful app and I hoped it would be great journal for a long trip. So far friends haven’t been able to open my journal after I’ve shared it. Save your money.

Good concept, bad execution, not worth $$
Ths app has good ideas but is not ready for primetime. The good part is the convenience of being able to blog from your phone and fairly easy to use. But the cons are: -very slow to load photos and never managed to load videos for me at all despite many many conversations with tech support. -The map-based focus means it can't handle multiple posts from the same place, or repeat visits to a place in the same trip, easily. - reader experience is diminished because posts load chronologically, instead of reverse chronologically, so readers have to scroll down through tons of text to find a new post. -There is no "draft" function to compose and edit in before posting -- you're either LIVE, in which readers can literally see you writing as you're doing it, like a google doc...or you're offline writing, in which case the entire blog disappears, not just the post you're working on. - At one point the app lost a few of my posts -- they reappeared, and later reappeared, but it was still a bad scare thinking I lost content. -Support means well but is very slow to respond, with long lags -- i spent a month back and forth on various issues with little resolution and finally gave up on this app. Overall It is a good concept but needs a lot of work to justify $12 a month. I'd wait till they get there before investing in this one.

So far my family has been having a great time with it as we document our family vacation.
Does not work on iPad in landscape!!
This is an old looking app that only works on an iPad in portrait mode. A lot of people use iPads with a keyboard. I only use apps in landscape mode with an Apple Magic Keyboard. This app was installed a promptly deleted when that was not possible. I’m not going to waste my time with an outdated and poorly designed app.

Work in Progress
I love the idea and look/feel of what I can create with this app, but it has a long way to go before it’s not frustrating to use. Writing entries from my iPhone 11 is clumsy at best - photos always insert at the bottom so I have to cut/paste any text that I already wrote - selecting my text to cut and paste has a huge lag - my videos that have an edited length to be shorter post with the entire length of the original video - if i set my text formatting and switch back to the keyboard, sometimes the default formatting is back, so I end up typing first and then selecting the text (which I mentioned before is a pain) and then formatting. - the spacing I see on the app is not what I see when I test the web URL. Example - if I have a one line space between consecutive photos in my app, on the webpage, I see no spacing between my photos I really love that I can write on the go from my phone, but would also love the option to edit from a laptop as I can type much faster, but maybe this would be less of a want if the app worked more smoothly. Bottom line - not sure I’m willing to pay for this ... yet.

Have only just entered my first entry. Seems very easy to navigate which i love. However, the pin drop on the map seems to be out by quite a bit and i cannot work out how to pin in the correct place.
Exactly What I was Looking For
Journo is perfect! I tried a few different apps and Journo is exactly what I wanted. Easy to use with maps so I can see we’re I’ve been on the trip. Easy to load pictures and great layout. So nice to look back now at each trip.
Impossible
Imp impossible to sign in. Many many many rejection errors that stated data entry incorrect with no indication of which of the five lines of data was incorrect nor how to correct it never had the opportunity to even try this app.

Great app
Very easy to use. Have only used it for a few days but so far it has kept my vacation photos organized and extremely easy to add notes and captions on the go. The map feature that tracks your locations is nice too.
Rating based solely on pricing
When I came across this app I was very intrigued. I downloaded it and the first screen I was met with was the sign-up screen which I didn’t do because I didn’t fully understand it and I wanted to research it a little bit more by going online to the website. One of the first things I noticed was the pricing so, just out of curiosity, I clicked on it to see what features might be available for a free account. I was very dismayed to find it there was no such thing as a free account. I understand a organization needs to make money, however a limited function free account may draw more people into purchasing the service to get full functionality. $12 per month is a little outside of my budget and sadly I can’t speak on the usability of the app as it it pertains to the price because 14 day trial, in my opinion, is insufficient to get a full feel of what appears to be a very detailed and in-depth app. So my suggestions to the developer is to consider a free account that is very limited and tease with the more sophisticated features.

I love this app! So easy to use and when I emailed Dane with a question, he replied right away with a very thorough response. I’m always looking for things to streamline my efforts to document my experiences and travels and this is the perfect combination of putting pictures and story together. Thank you!!
Doesn’t work for me
I gave this try and it doesn’t seem to work for me. First thing, I’m on my iPad and this app only works in portrait mode, that is usually non starter but I gave it a try. I just want to upload a few photos as a test to see them show up on a map. I uploaded about a dozen from different dates and locations and never got the map function to work. Everytime I clicked the map icon, I got message saying I needed to add photos (which I did). I will keep looking for an app to log our travels.
Good but can be better - here’s how
Great concept and done pretty well. Absolutely needs the following: (1) ability to invite co-travelers and allow collaboration. (2) ability to edit dates so you can post an event that took place last night or on any prior date. (3) show pictures of friends when you search for them. Other than that, this is pretty solid.

It was working great for me until I tried to add another entry and it said my free trial was over and I can't add anything else, the app exists the create journal entries, if you have to eventually pay for that then it's not a free app

What I’ve been looking for!
Thank you Journo for design an app that multiple users can add and contribute to. As a family who loves and lives to travel together you’ve made an app that allows each of us to post, edit and add to create a collaborative travel journal that we print and give to each other as momentous if our time together. Our daughter is on a semester abroad and this app will be how we present her with a coffee table book version of her 6 mos away. She writes her travel entries and we can add screen shots of her texts and communication while she’s away. What a gift to commemorate a once in a life time experience. We have 2 recommendations to add: *Allow the map tracker to be created via location of the photo. Remembering to drop a pin in order to make a map is tedious on a tour which makes frequent stops. And if you do forget it doesn’t allow for editing or additions in order to log an accurate map. *Page layout, like a scrapbook type design tool would be fun! Otherwise thank you for making this app available for those of us crazy about recording life’s events!
Unhappy
I thought this would be a fun way to share a six week adventure with friends and family. I’ve made several attempts to fix problems but no resolve in two weeks. Now that I’ve paid for a subscription my site says that I’ve “unpublished” my Journo. No I haven’t and still no help from support. I would change my rating if I could just get some help from support.
