Sugarmate is Awesome!
I love how there is a feature that can call your phone when having a low blood sugar! Love this app!
Since my iOS updated several weeks ago, my Sugarmate app crashes continuously.
5/10/26 Many foods I try to enter crash the app and do not get saved. I have given up on using Sugarmate for anything but a quick look at the carbs in foods so I can save it in my Dexcom app. I had really loved using Sugarmate but constant glitches are too frustrating. When I reached out for help, I was asked to share a video of my experience. I am not tech savvy so this request was beyond what I could provide. I used to tell everyone I knew to use Sugarmate as there are so many features. Unfortunately, it keeps breaking so I am done. 😭 12/6/24 I am updating my review based on the new version. I thought the earlier version was perfect and now I just want it back! I use Apple iOS. This new version is so jumbled that there is even writing overwritten into other writing so it is hard to read. I am now limited to scrolling through my day’s Insulin and food intake at the bottom of the page so it is difficult to see my information. I believe I lost my favorite foods that I had saved. When I search for a food, I cannot read the details or see the photos that are handy. Is there a way I can use the older version? It is really hard to accept these changes that now make Sugarmate nearly impossible to use with any efficiency. Older comments: I have been so happy with Sugarmate as it offers me so many ways to document my information. From carbs to my medications, I can monitor so much in one spot and can make notes, too. Today, I have noticed that the app thinks it is Sunday, Dec. 26, 2001. Why is the date off? I reloaded the app but it still has the wrong date. I cannot find anywhere to fix it and my Dexcom app has the current date. Am I the only one?
I like it...but
I like this app a lot, the only issue I have is the connectivity of it, sometimes it will say haven't receive any new data for an hour, and my cgm app still tracking. And also I wish there was a widget for it other then that it is really informative
CGM Data Only?
What’s the point of being able to connect to Tandem Source if the app doesn’t automatically pull in insulin basal/bolus/correction information? Another shortsighted release by Tandem. Better question, why am I still surprised by their choices?
Nice but needs work
Nice comprehensive app but needs to integrate with the pump to tie in insulin and boluses etc.

Combining My Fitness Pal data with Tandem data is perfect. Tracking sodium would be helpful too. 5 stars.
A Shell of what it used to be
I used to use this app extensively. It was a wonderfully developed app that took full advantage of what iOS had to offer. From shortcuts to Siri commands and easy data entry. After the redesign when purchased by Tandem it went down hill. They took away everything that makes the app good. No more shortcuts. The interface is harder to use and good bye Siri features. It literally takes me 5-10 minutes to enter my data now vs before I could do in seconds. So I stopped using the app because it was so cumbersome. If you just want a general log, this would be fine, but I can do the same thing using shortcuts and Apple Health faster and easier without some mega corporations having access to my data. After all that is the only reason why Tandem bought this app from the developer.
Missing data from tandem mobi
As a parent, I would like to see how much insulin is on board and when the last bolus was given. My kids app has more information on it that would be helpful for a parent who is monitoring while our kid is at school.
App rewrite was a downgrade
I used the previous “legacy” version of Sugarmate extensively, and I loved how it felt like a diabetes app for power users. The deep integration with Siri Shortcuts was awesome, to the point where I had built custom shortcuts to help me quickly log food and calculate net carbs for my Omnipod. My numbers had never been better. The new, redesigned (read: dumbed-down) version of the app removed all of the Shortcuts integrations that I relied on and my custom automations completely broke. Major downgrade and actually affected my quality of life: I can literally see the change in my average glucose numbers after my shortcuts stopped working. One year later and I still haven’t found a viable replacement app. So, so disappointing.

Disservice of time
I never write reviews if o don’t have anything nice to say. However, I have tried reaching support and it’s been a waste of time as much as trying to log into the app. I have done the deep IT into logging into the Dexcom on the browser without any issue and have the correct username and password and sugarmate continues with please trying again later something went wrong. You call tandem and they only support pump related issues. It’s devastating that everything that sugar mate promises can’t be accessed and can save life’s and also calm the deep back end of worries for our loved ones having to be monitored 24/7. I think the most upsetting is the waste, without any positive outcome.
Needs to show bolus and IOB
This app would be amazing if it showed when our kid bolused (plus insulin amount) and IOB. I don’t need the ability to administer remotely but it would be so reassuring when she’s away from us to see the actions being taken!
Not working out!
At first I was super happy with this app and it was working great. I was even sleeping really good knowing the alarms were loud and I could actually hear them not now, it suddenly disconnects for days at a time and I can’t get it to work right. I’m in search of something else at the moment because sadly this isn’t working the way it should. Idk what went wrong but I was extremely happy with it until the last couple of weeks. UPDATE: it’s still the same sadly! I really had high hopes for this app. I’m not sure what goes wrong but it’s always disconnecting or logging me off without warning. If it wasn’t for that, I’d give it 5 stars because when it works, it works amazingly!!!!
Tweaks
So many things I like about the app. Maybe I missed it, but I don’t see a way to connect the app to my Apple Health data. My Dexcom app is connected so I don’t have to enter things in the app. I’m not willing to add data like bolus, exercise, etc. into your app. If there’s a way to connect my Health data to this app, please let me know!!
Great app
This app allows me to view cgm data differently than the Dexcom G7 app/reports. Great for analyzing the data. The support staff are very helpful when I have questions. Highly recommend
Sugarmate no longer working!
Sugarmate no longer works as of today. Stopped syncing. I tried logging out, uninstalling the app and reinstalling. Now I can’t log in. Country of Residence list is blank.
App is great
I really like the app; however, I wish you could still get the glucose readings back on Alexa. I really miss that feature and used it daily. The app was down today (5/20)& I had to uninstall/reinstall. It's working fine now.
Removed the only reason to use the app
In what I have to assume is a mistake, they’ve deleted the widget that lets you quickly see your blood sugar and the difference from the last value. Utterly pointless now.

I was very skeptical about using a third party app, when the original app for the dexcom worked great (I still use the g6 as of writing this on 5/6/26) but over the years I have heard nothing but wonders about Sugarmate that I decided to give it a try! And I am so glad I did!
Can’t get past country of residence
This app hasn’t worked. Frustrating.
Low sugar calls changed
I love the app and it has literally been a lifesaver but hate that it no longer will call two phone numbers with an urgent lows at night. Has definitely made nighttime harder for our house.
Garbage after Tandem purchased it
I used to use this app all the time because it was the only one that would provide a +/- value. But Tandem wanted to ruin something beautiful, bought the app, and now it routinely says there are no readings in the last 45 minutes. This is not a Dexcom share issue, this is a Tandem-ruins-everything issue.

iOS 26
Idk if it’s this apps or the iOS update I can’t get text alerts from my phone. It’s important to be because I can’t hear alerts but a text is great for me. Please fix the bugs. What need to be fix this apps or the iOS ?
phone calls
can’t turn off phone calls , the app blanks out when i click on the setting 👎
Buggy
Turning on the SMS option to receive texts for urgent lows makes the screen go blank and locks up the app. Have to kill the app and reopen. Same goes for the phone calls. Both of them will quickly show more options and then the screen goes blank. Can’t back up or move out of the app without killing it.
Excellent app
This is a great app for tracking my diabetes. It’s the best way to share what’s going on with my doctor and family -Nate

It doesn’t let me in the app it won’t let me sign in and it does not look high quality
iOS 26.0.1
After the update to iOS 26.0.1, I cannot sign into the app. I continue to get the error message “Something went wrong. Please try again later.” Have used the app for years to track my son’s blood sugar. The app allows for better alerts for Follower, including fall rates and a higher threshold for the first “low” alert. I am alerted sooner when we’re starting to drop which gives us more time to intervene. Hoping to get the sign in issue resolved soon.
Battery usage too high
Since the last update the app drains my battery. It uses more battery than all the other apps combined. It also isn’t working properly, it cycles every time I enter data and doesn’t stay up to date with my readings. I often have to close and reopen it to get it working properly.
Widget?
The app is fine; I like it better than Dexcom Follow. But no widget is available on iOS 26. My research turned up something about WidgetKit compatibility since iOS 17? Anyway, would love to have a widget again for quick checks of my kid’s BG on the home screen. Git ‘er done, Sugarmate.
Better Than Dexcom7
Can't get Dexcom7 to open. Says turn in notification. Its on. I'm frustrated cause I don't receive the blood glucose on Apple or recalled receiver. My SUGARMATE says the day. I get info on this app. Called Dexcom four times. No one one calls me back. Feb 2026 You saved my life. It’s 2 am. My blood is 43 going down and I was ASLEEP. I woke as you called cause I had a horrible HEADACHE. Thank you. You’re the greatest
App just doesn’t work
Not functional on IPhone 16Pro Max. App activates but gets stuck at Login and New User. Neither option works. App gets stuck at some preliminary screen.
App improvement
Pretty good app but could improve it by adding a carb insulin ratio or divider number when entering insulin. So it would be a calculater within the insulin amount entering. Carbs eaten divided by carbs insulin ratio equals number of units of insulin to be taken. 28 divided by 14 equals 2 units of insulin. Right now I have to leave the app, use the calculator and then go back to the app and enter the info. Hopefully this makes sense. Thanks

Used to be a reliable app
I use Sugarmate as my emergency backup up to always call me if my daughter’s sugar goes below 65 in the middle of the night. I sometimes sleep through high alarms, but almost never low alarms. It’s just that extra insurance that keeps her safe. At least that’s how it used to work. In the past many months now this app logs you out without telling you. In order to get the phone calls again I have to open app and log back in. I only find out I’ve been logged out when I happen to notice in the middle of the night when treating a low. Then I see I didn’t get the phone call. So frustrating and it’s happened enough times now that I’ll be looking elsewhere. I’ll be buying the sugar pixel!
Love my sugar clock!
Thank you for the amazing service!!! The low calls are immensely helpful and I love having an old phone set up as a sugar clock :) Sugarmate makes this nightmare slightly less awful <3
Didn’t use to suck!
I loved this app for YEARS! BUT!! This last year it’s been logging me out and not letting me back in. This time it’s been almost a week and I can’t get in touch with anybody or anything! So frustrating.
Why no widget?!?!?
Still my preferred glucose tracker but come on guys, by iOS26 you really should have added a widget. Such a missed opportunity. Could be 5 stars

Something went wrong try again later
The app will not allow me to sign on. Keeps giving me the error message that something went wrong and to try again later. I’m able to sign on a different device, but will not allow me to sign on my iPhone 14 Pro Max. Updates should fix issues, not cause them.
Great except one thing
This is app is great. Highly recommend. Only issue I have is the bar code scanner for food. Only half the things I scan come up, unlike other apps where it’s closer to 90%. (But I really do like that you can enter and edit food on your own.) If the bar code got updated and worked well, it would be 6 stars.
Hasn’t receive a reading in over 15 minutes
Very disappointed, constantly get the message “Sugarmate hasn’t receive a reading in over 15 minutes”. Data displayed in the app is constantly late (more than an hour) while the Dexcom G6 app is all ways up to date. My goal was to have the ability to quickly monitor my glucose on an iWatch but what’s the point if the data being displayed is always an hour late. Also insulin and carbs intake entered in G6 doesn’t appear in Sugarmate.
