Happy Bob is the best!
It good
Terrible
Have to pay subscription for fun characters. 😔 CGM numbers were hours behind and I couldn’t find out how to fix it. Happy bob was mean. 😭 He told me I’m bad at taking care of my diabetes when I was high. 💔. ⭐️🫥🫥🫥🫥. 1 star. Worked for some people and I just wanted a fun way to deal with T1D. Disappointed.Would not recommend. 😓
🤷♀️🤷♀️🤷♀️
It’s a really good app I’m 12 and use it you can join groups and stuff it’s really fun the only thing is that after a while it gets really boring
What is the subscription for?
This is a cute app but it is completely useless. I wouldn’t mind paying a one time fee, but for the life of me, I can’t understand what is the purpose of the subscription or the app. Ten dollars per month so that the app can either motivate you or insult you. Crazy.
Works great but Bob can get annoying…
The app echoes what your dexcom app readings are. Its notifications are not as loud and intrusive as dexcoms. The widget also is more responsive than dexcoms as well. Only problem is Bob’s attitude when your blood sugar is high. Repeatedly I would get notifications that “You must have skipped the diabetes orientation” or “Did you forget to take insulin?”. At first it’s fine but seeing it everyday made me frustrated. Brief spikes in blood sugar are normal after eating. I don’t need Bob to tell me how bad I’m doing when I’m doing just fine. It would make more sense if Bob made these comments for sustained high blood sugar, or just not at all. Irl people already make ignorant comments about diabetes and I don’t need Bob to piss me off anymore than they do. Otherwise, its a good app.
Happy Bob makes diabetes less lonely
The notifications that come up can really direct me in a way that the Dexcom app does not. Some of the scenes can be a little corny, but on the whole this has been a very useful part of my diabetes. I’m rather merciless with subscriptions as considered not renewing it, but it’s crucial when I started thinking about it and how I interact with it and how it interacts with me.
Nag- not coaching app
This app is a horrible negative voice even when you manage your diabetes fairly well. It offers no insight or positive analytical or supportive coaching. It does however pile on to the continual negative self-criticism for the impossible task of impersonating a pancreas without acknowledging either the process of autocorrecting pumps or estimation for unknowns like guesses of carb counts, stress or illness. If you want a complex this app is for you. If you want insight and self-help, look elsewhere- and for the sake of all that is holy, please don't add this voice to the ear of children!
Great Tool for Managing Diabetes!
This is a great app for managing diabetes. The motivational messages can be very helpful especially when blood sugars are good. I would prefer to see more positive motivational messages directed at bringing blood sugar back in range when it is high or low. I'm not a fan on the sassy or rude messages when I'm out of range and I have treated it and I have to wait for the treatment to work. Exercise, insulin, and food all take time to work to bring your blood sugar in range. It can be very stressful receiving frequent notifications letting you know you are still not in range when you know it will take time, which in turn makes managing the blood sugar situation very stressful and adds to the frustration. Yes, I would like the treatments to work immediately too... but they don't. I hope in the future the notification messages can be kinder and less frequent in order to make management less stressful, as stress doesn't help with managing blood sugars. Food takes at least 15 minutes + time to get the food to bring your blood sugar up from a low. Ideally notifications should be able to be silenced for 20 minutes to give the sugar time to work, or there should be increments of time users can select from to silence notifications after they have treated their situation. High blood sugar can take anywhere from 5 minutes to 3 hours to come down into range depending on how high it is and many other biological and environment variables we cannot control. Users should be able to silence the notifications while they are working on bringing it down. Often too many notifications, especially with sarcastic, sassy, and rude messages can make a very difficult and frustrating situation more difficult and frustrating, and it can in turn have a negative impact on management. Hopefully a future update will include more understanding, positive and motivational messages when blood sugar is not in range, and less frequent notifications or enable users to choose the frequency they receive notifications. This would improve my experience. However, this app is truly amazing! It would be great for kids, but it is also great for people of all ages who need something fun and motivational to help manage diabetes. Love the positive messages when I'm in range!
I don’t get it
Tried app with subscription: it simply echoes what the readings on the g7 apps do and gives me stars and tells me I’m doing nicely. After uninstalling, my battery performance got better.
Premium subscribers shouldn’t be getting Ads
It’s a great app, could use a little updating but I’m not happy about the pop ups asking me to buy the $600/year subscription with nurse calls; Especially if I’m paying $70/year for the premium subscription.
wonderful
great app. use it everyday. so fun and cute!
OK but poorly implemented
I got an alert for a high that said, “Guess you shouldn’t have had another donut.” I thought that was in poor taste. It’s like I feel bad enough on my own, do I need an app criticizing me, too?
Good and sometimes bad.
This app keeps me cheered up but when I’m high some of the comments are rude. But I love this app.
Hate the update
This app was amazing in helping me manage my diabetes in a fun way but they updated it so you have to pay for features that used to be free. Now I can’t look at previous days or the month view to see my progress. Not cool.
Free review used 2wks
Free version. 72 yr old. It's not going to shake my world. A1c 5.4, T1. 408 stars so far today. Fun to see. Cute and disturbing at same time. Looks mad (eyebrows) when should be happy. Some remarks better than others. Not bad, something different, something to try. Nice touch with stars. Wish my Dexcom had stars! This app won't improve on what I already get in reports and info. Wish list *Lower price. *Reward full app to those keeping a great target range for a month while in free version. No charge. *I'd like to be able to add my own quips. Delete others. Possible? *Hard to find subscription price. Why not offer separate free version everyone knows is stripped down. Offer premium app separately with the price listed.
Happy Jeff
I did not do paid version for a month and just plowed along just like any other day. Three weeks ago I thought “what the hey I’ll give it a try. I found myself checking Happy Bob several times a day and that I would never check and I have been in range for two weeks now. Want to get my money’s worth after all! It’s fun, helpful, and an A1C that is on track for 5.8 from 10.8!
Comments aren’t appropriate
I downloaded this to test to see if it would be good for my son 9 but have found the comments are not very child friendly on a number of occasions
Love this, but widget
I adore this app, SO adhd friendly which is huge for also being T1. Thing is, I mainly use my widgets to view my blood sugar and it will not display my blood sugar number on it. I even got the subscription to see if it would help, but nope
Anmeldung schlägt fehl
Ich kann mich nicht mit Dexcom koppeln. Habe alles versucht es kommt immer eine Fehlermeldung.
Great (When it Works)
Love this app when it actually works. About every month or so I have to delete and redownload two or three times to get the widget to function properly on my lock screen. Not sure what the issue is.
Great App
This app keeps me on top of my levels and the humor is Great.
Update
Update! The app now doesn’t t work at all! I’ve tried deleting and reinstalling, but I always get a screen saying Error ongoing maintenance! This has been ongoing for a week or more. I have a subscription which runs out in November and paid £60. I cannot reach out to “Happy Bob”. I am very unhappy Bob! I will be reaching out to Apple. I’ve upgraded and would love this app if it actually worked in real time. I have Dexcom 7 and yet often HB is 1 hour or more behind. There does not appear to be an update/synch button. So it’s proving useless and I feel cheated. £60 is a lot to waste on this app.
Why add a subscription???
Ok, to get started, it's a good app overall. Until they added a subscription. Like, why???? I've used happy Bob since September and they never had a subscription. It was amazing. It was really like I had a diabuddy that I could change. Now im just stuck with the regular Bob. I can't even got some of the Acivements that I could get without the subscription. It isn't as fun as it used to be. It still is fun though. It is a really good app over all.
No glucose target
No glucose target, not sure if the app worth it.. should have it!
Annoying at night
Bob messages after bedtime. It disrupts my sleep. And since I can’t read it without my glasses, it’s annoying. There is no setting to choose the time of day you want Bob to be quiet without turning it off each night.
Perfect
Best for my diabetes So good
Hi this is just my opinion
This app should be able to be used with different things including the Libre and different devices that are for diabetics
Cool
Good but I wish there we’re more awards
Sad Canadian
I really want to use this app but it says my username and password is incorrect?? I think this is because I’m Canadian. I can use apple health but what’s the point if it’s 3 hours behind ://
Needs an update
keeps glitching, can’t refresh numbers
Awesome
App is great works really well
Apple Health sync doesn’t work
Tried the Apple Health option as I am not on Dexcom but have my data synced to Apple Health from my CGM app. Doesn’t work, received a 400 error in the app.
Great app but Data syncing can be improved
This is a great app for anyone who needs to visually see there levels on an Apple Watch face. You can add Bob and his expression will change throughout the day depending on how you control you blood sugar levels. I am newly diagnosed and have found it very helpful however, as it does not connect directly with my blood glucose monitor - it syncs with the health app but 9/10 times it doesn’t work and I need to go in to settings change to a different monitor and then back to the health app for it to actually sync. Overtime I can see this becoming tedious. I am really hoping the app will become more compatible with other blood glucose monitors so I don’t have to rely on it syncing with the health app.
Fonction limites & demande d’abonnement à chaque fois qu’on ouvre l’appli
Recevoir une demande d’abonnement à chaque fois qu’on ouvre l’appli non merci 😅
Doesn’t work
The app always shows “Fetching your glucose data”. Tried to uninstall and install it again, logout and the login. Nothing works:(
Motivational
I love this app. The funny sayings to push you to keep doing better, do better, or fix are great and hilarious. 10/10 for the creator
No libre
Would love to use this app properly but there is no option to connect to the freestyle libre :(
Doesn’t sync to libre
Really love the idea of this app!! Unfortunately doesn’t seem to be able to sync up to freestyle libre. If this changes and includes libre I will redownload and give 5 stars.
More options
I keep seeing this app around, please make it available for more sensors! Im on the libre but would love to use this!!
Best app ever
This app keeps me going
Freestyle libre?
Hi! I’m a user of freestyle libre and seeing his app made me so happy to get som sort of couch for my diabetes, but I’ve learned it doesn’t support libre... is that a future update coming soon or? I’d be really happy if it did. So until then I give 4 stars bc I love the idea but can’t really use it yet.
I love this app
This is an awesome app for people with diabetes. It helps people feel more included and also has a lot of fun things to do.
Happy bob
Very good but it would be useful to have a number reading in the Apple Watch as well as Bob
