Warning if you lose your divide you lose your work
I love Blocs Wave; it's such a fun way to make beats. In fact, I've made 180 beats in the past three years! When my iPad's battery became weak, I bought a new one and backed up my old device. All my apps transferred over fine, except for Blocs Wave. After spending 100 hours and exchanging numerous emails with support, the guy at Amplify was very helpful, but the issue was out of his control. The map between BW and LP doesn’t restore, so whenever I tried to open a BW project, I got an error message saying that some project files could not open because the launchpad packs weren't installed . However, they were all restored. But bloc wave cannot see them. After a week of back and forth, 20 emails, 10 failed solutions and at least 3 restores from scatch (even using other apps like imazing), I never got them to open. The final advice given was to manually export my favourite projects from Blocs Wave on my old iPad. But I have 180 files, and if I continue making beats, I'll have 360 in three years' time. This means I'd have to manually export twice as many again. The convenience of using BW is lost in the file management, so I'm moving to Beat Maker. It requires more work, (and i think better more unique results) but most of all it looks like I can switch devices with it, unlike Blocs Wave. Had I known that, I would have exported project files as I went. But it's just not clear that you'll end up trapped on your old device or face a week of moving files. The biggest risk though is if I lost or water damaged my ipad. I thought i was covered but i’m not. My only accessible copy of my music projects is hard set on the device i have. Even if the battery fails i could lose it all. That is just not a risk I want to take. Be warned.

Good for what it is, amended
Good for what it is but has seen no real development in a long while. Notation were saying 5 years ago they were planning on adding proper pitch controls for example and it never happened. For it to be properly useful it needs that at the very least. Am ended, and just recently gone back to check some loops I knocked up a long time ago to find that packs I used are no longer there and won’t restore . Bit of a ripoff then.
So close to great
I’ve used Blocs wave for years and it is desperately Missing one main feature (easy fix too) it NEEDS quantized switching for the loops. I love everything about the app but when im trying to piece together a song and i switch loops I’ve made it Instantly changes. Developers…PLEASE add quantized bar or beat switching of the loops, then it’s easily a 5 star app. Would be really cool if you could play the loops into a recorded timeline/arranger too then it would be Super amazing. Just a thought

This app is really insane but one thing is that all of the old packs are removed for example trip hop heater dub session sonic aura the list goes on and on so i would scream of happiness if you brought them back so please add them back

This app used to have inner app purchases half off at least twice a year. I have not seen half off in about 2 years in this app. Let’s go!
Mic not accessible
Was very interested to try this app for iphone, but when i click to enable mic access it brings me to a settings screen that does not include mic. I found mic settings myself under privacy, but Blocs is not among apps seeking mic access. Suggest an update is likely needed to catch up with apple configs. Stars just neutral for now, I an not using this app.

I have an idea for an update. Update: I want you to allow the range of BPM to be -999 to 999. (The reason why I am asking for negative bpm is because I want to have reversed sounds allowed. Also add this range update on Launchpad and Groovebox.
Link not working
Trying to get Ableton Link working, but despite spending an hour rebooting, reloading, changing settings etc. still not working and doesn’t pick up linked apps, and sometimes even manually clicking the play button in the app fails to work. AUM + Air 4.

I had a bug Dat was continuing the project file. Of whatever I did 1st. And this was of Sunday April 03 2022. The bug…. I really did not realize it was a bug!!! Buuuuuut win u start a new file project and the sounds still bleed over in play thru. I just had to stop using this app. I will wait another 2 weeks or more before I use this app again. I really like the concept of this app. And with as many of the sound packs I have bought would be a shame and wasted opportunity if could not use all of those sample loops. I do have a few ideas to help with this bug fix. I will just wait for your company’s direction. ————-—————— Ohhhh p.s. more creative effects I had a hard time finding any in the store library.
Really Nicely Designed App!
I’ve had this app and all of the in-app purchases for years now. This is still an amazing app for how easy it is to use, all it can do… from easy push button composition to more advanced customization. You can even import your own audio to edit and compose with..l or record right into the app via mic. The sound packs are incredibly good and inexpensive to add. I’ve got at least a dozen of them. Highly recommended and I hope the developer continues to keep it well maintained!
how to use this?
I had the impression I could use this to construct or alter launchpad beats, which I need to do. No instructions, so what does this do?

When I was looking for a few DAWs to start out with on my iPhone 11 & also eventually either the iPad Pro or newer iPad model, I watched a video showcasing this app on YouTube from this guy named Henry Tha Bizness, & this app is amazing enough that I’m willing to keep testing it out & getting used to it. But there’s 2 issues I’ve notice, an need for a improvement change & more important a bug that needs to be fixed. • Bug: If you wanted to delete any packs you’ve installed, trying to delete the last one left will make the app crash & when you open it again, it automatically has chosen a section to add to the layout pads & more so didn’t delete the pack. • Improvement Suggestion: Make the store have a better layout for categorization.
Fine for casual hobbyists, intentionally crippled though
Many other loopers are better now. Would be nice if it at least had AU fx. Not being able to transfer your recordings en mass to other devices or desktop is really what keeps it in the casual fun category.
Sample pack organization
So blocks wave is a cool app. I will text it apart from other apps of its type is the ability to use the apps in performance directly into Launchpad. The next feature developers need to make serious considerations about implementing is organization of the sample packs. When you purchase a new pack, it just gets folded into all of your other 100 packs, and unless you’ve written the name down or taken a screenshot of it, you don’t know which packs are newest vs the others you already have. Packs should be able to be sorted by newest to oldest.

Auv3 and multiple instance out please! Being able to process the loops through effects chains in AUM would be incredible!!!
Background app activity problem
Since feb 2020 this app has been draining my iPad Pro battery using 70% in background activity Have had to delete app :(

Great idea
Seriously, why is there no search function? Why can’t I sort by key, or tempo? Why can’t I save to favorites? great to quickly get ideas out. Great to make Launchpad performance tracks. Some glaring gaps. You cant save your favorite loops and sounds. You have to go through a painstaking search each time for your favorite sound. You can’t star your favorite sounds for easily retreival. AI engine that selects samples for you does not do a good job of combing your entire library. It seems to repeat the same loops providing only 4-5 suggestions. The app allows for 6 tracks which is plenty to build a great set. However, you can’t re-arrange the tiles i.e move the melody next to the drums or the base next to percussion. This is extremely annoying. Otherwise, the concept is great. I wish they’d get some real product management going on.

This is the greatest app for live music that’s easy to produce, once you been using a while you can start playing more with it and making good quality music of any genre.
Quite worrying
I have had this app on my IPad Pro for some time. I am quite alarmed about how much of the battery this uses even when the app is not launched. My iPad was lasting less than 24 hours on a full charge. I checked the battery app and it said blocks had used 98% battery life in the last 24 hrs. I genuinely can’t figure out why an app would use this amount of battery when not active. (Even with all apps closed).
Please make a version for MacOS
This would be a game changer if I can also open on MacOS M1. I rarely use it now because of the limited storage of my iPad. Great potential.

Useful for launchpad, but unwieldy
This is one way to organize sound clips for launchpad, but it’s very annoying to use, and importing sounds from Groovebox is more complicated than it should be. These are all apps made by the same so pant and they should work better together.

I use this app to make beats on my iPhone but everyday I get on the app regardless if it’s up to date to the latest version , it somehow makes the import area reset the purchase and makes me have to sign in over and over to continue to import , please fix this problem because it’s so frustrating when trying to upload your sounds and it won’t let you because you have to restart the import process again and again
Afraid to update
I use launchpad and blocs as a central part of my studio. When they work they are amazing apps, but the updates seem to be about selling you features that are not required. All you need on launchpad and blocs is the import feature and that's it. The an update to launchpad in Dec stoped the import feature for a week. Week of productivity lost, for what reason, so you can make it look funky. Have you seen a real launchpad it's not funky, but it works. Your iOS app is meant to replicate this device, so why make it look different and kill productivity for a week because you introduced a bug. If your app was 100% free it be ok, but as you require buying import feature, unstable updates offering features not required is not acceptable. Now the latest update to blocs offering me an EQ, this is not required, will this update stop launchpad from working? Not worth the risk of updates. Please only update security issues, not just features created for profit and unwanted visual tweaks making the VR products more removed from there origins.
Missed Opportunity!
It would be really great if I could set and move my own slices, instead of having a lame, static grid that I can only slide left/right. Or, even an option to automatically detect the transients of the sample. Then, I could play all the transients, instead of a random selection. It would also be amazing to have Blocs Wave as an AUv3 that I could use within AUM or a DAW. Basically, turn this into Serato Sample for iOS. I would pay lots of £s for the app I described above. And I’m sure I’m not alone.

App needs major overhaul and Effects features
After numerous emails and discussions with staff about how although App is brilliant and easy to use in creating songs than the other 2 Apps , Launchpad and Groovebox, it would get 5 stars but lack of effects it only gets 1 star . For creative people that is a major let down and if any App deserves effects like the previous mentioned Apps have , this App should least have that quality effects if not better and the lack of updates , changes is just not right. Mind you a Desktop version would help also and perhaps adding all effects would make this App the best one of the bunch if not in the App Store to create music. And to not have recording in the this App only microphone is just lazy and should be corrected as soon as possible . Also after a few issues I have asked to be sorted out , there is another in when import one of my songs, seems that when imported to Launchpad , a percussion sound is not playing in corr3ct timing as in Blockwave, regardless if erase or import again or shut down apps and start again, issue not resolved. Please, Please! Fix this and give Blockwave the eff3cts and recording this App deserves and needs to be the best App to be creative beast it should be on here and perhaps even give it a Desktop version .

No idea how to use this. No clue as to what this app does. Can't even find help easily. It's probably good but I don't like the assumption that I am an expert right from the off.

First of all. This is program is awesome. I’ve used it since it came out. Two things I expected to see developed over the years. 1. A searchable loop library from within the program should be a five. pretty basic feature in loop libraries. Especially ones we buy. 2. Key change at the sample level. For those who don’t know. In order to have a sample play a different “chord” in reveal from within the program. You have to flatten the sample and change the key at the sample level. If this feature is able to be changed at the sample level when you flatten a sample… it should also be available to change the key at the sample level without the workaround. That’s silly. If you want this program to have more widespread adoption. Those two things would be serious and simple upgrades. It’s a wonderful tool… where it’s time to let go of a diatonic anchor ….
Can't listen to more than one sample!
This app is appalling for any music producer, song writer, or composer. You can't listen to more than any one sample to be able to compose tracks! Don't even bother downloading it. Complete waste of time. I'm going to delete it from my device. Very poor indeed. Also keeps crashing whenever I try to export any project files!!!! Really bloody useless! Can't export any project files via email, or iCloud drive! There is no point to this app at all!!!! The developers NEED to fix ALL of the bugs in this app BEFORE they release it, otherwise it is obtaining your money by deception.

small amount of feature, not a lot of creation tool. it would be nice to be able to manipulate more the loop provided and also create real music/sound. lack a synth, effect board and other tool. bought it out of curiosity, not worth my money. Maschine is a better choice imo

Very cool...
Great little app for getting ideas down and sampling little grooves. Ignore the haters, you can copy/paste grooves and beats etc over each other to build them up. Plays well with AudioBus 3 and can send loops/projects straight into Beatmaker 3 too. Fab little tool with a very impressive sound library.
No explanation of new features
These novation apps are pretty lame. All stock loops, no editing. They add new features and never explain how to use them. For example, they released this new feature to use packs from launchpad, but then dont show or tell you how to use the feature. The video they put up is the stupidest attempt at a "tutorial" i have ever watched! If you wanna download an app that will just sit there and not inspire you, like they claim it will, then this is just the app. Otherwise, keep walking. There are so many better apps with a plethora of better editing and sound manipulating facilities. This piece of garbage doesnt even offer effects.
