Loading presets into Factory
How do I download presets bought on Gumroad into the synth ?
Doesn't respond to standard iOS gestures, like swiping up to swap apps.
As the title says, I had to swip down to get to notifications, just to open another app. That the app doesn't follow standard iOS UI norms is ridiculous.
Correct the program crash at the start
iOS 18.1 does not start the program. Correct
Promising, but buggy
Routinely gets stuck midi notes, and freezes when headphones are plugged in. A shame, because it otherwise seems promising.
Sometimes works sometimes doesn’t
Sounds great, but it crashes quite frequently, don’t know why
Great great synth app
Crashes often lately Hope somebody can check it out It loses audio…<-and I have to restart it in stand alone
One star
Why didn’t we get the autumn sale? Please, you’re Sugar Bytes! Not Aiken Maltipedia!
Powerful app (but graphics is poor)
I use this app since 2020 and sound is open and versatile. Only one question… Why after last update UI remain in a low quality style? I’d like to see a clear HD interface! Hope to see a new fresh design soon…
Cannot load in other DAWs properly
This is one of the coolest synths for the price, but it crashes in Cubasis every single time when trying to mix down a track, it will never load the actual sounds you made, this is fun to mess around with but I can’t justify paying almost 20 bucks for something I can’t actually use in a workspace.
Too much
Very overpriced apps
Coolest mini-synthesizer!
I used to own a Micro Moog and found it to be one of the best synthesizers out there but the factory is the coolest synthesizer ever I love all the sound effects and presets!
Keep crashing
This app is a real disaster, it keeps crashing, contacted the developer and they didn’t solve the problem, no way ti be refounded, it’s a real share! Don’t trust the free version, when you upgrade with the 19 euro then keeps crashing!
Awesome Synth App - Wish the Interface was Hi Rez
Very well done app. Features and sounds are fantastic. I have had the pro version for a couple years now and very satisfied. Only thing really holding it back in my opinion is the resolution of the interface doesn’t hold up on the iPad display. Interface design is great but graphics look pixelated. Might be a nitpick, but there is a reason why these screens are High Resolution. Please update =). Thanks!
Warum so eine niedrige Auflösung?
Ich finde das Konzept interessant und würde den Synthesizer vielleicht kaufen. Aber das die Grafik auf meinem iPad Pro so verpixelt ist hält mich von dem Kauf der vollversion ab.
Great synth hampered by an Apple bug
Patches do not reload properly when loading saved projects so you need to manually reload each patch. Sugar Bytes says this is an Apple bug but it has been around for quite a while now. Thus I tend not to use this synth very much.
Fantastico
Uno dei migliori soft sint mai provati. Veloce, intuitivo, matrice di modulazione MODULABILE! Che dire ogni intervento genera bellezza! Bravi continuate cosi!
Not worth it.....
Simple, Works as standalone, but you have to pay to use AUv3 Why not work as AUv3 so we can get an idea of how it behaves in our DAW, But have the option to buy the full preset list. If I could have used this as AUv3, I would have purchased the rest, but no.....
Fantastic App!
This is my favourite iOS synth app. I love it in every way except for one thing. PLEASE FIX the problem that causes notes to stick sometimes. It’s a sad thing that it does this because otherwise I could use it for recording and live with confidence. Please do this for us.
Not actually free
Thought I’d stumbled across something wonderful, then I tried to use in conjunction with another app. At this point I was prompted to pay £18 for the privilege. Nowhere implied that payment would be required, very misleading marketing.
CC assignments
This would be my favorite synth if not for one thing: In live performance the CC assign pops up every time I hold a control to SLOWLY modulate parameters. And then the control freezes. So I have to keep put my finger on the control again and again and then move it fast to get it to work right. Some settings are delicate especially morph settings. So I don’t get the smooth changes I want. It makes gradual morphing or mixing impossible. This is pretty close to a deal breaker for me. I’ve written SugarBytes and asked them to provide a “CC ASSIGN OFF” switch in the preferences next to the CC PRESET ISOLATE option. It would be so useful. They said they would add it in an update which I’ve anxiously awaited. But there have been several updates and no improvement on this issue. I hate to complain, considering this is otherwise a perfect synth :( Well, maybe some optional skins would be nice too but that’s not really holding things up. The CC assign IS though.
Killer synth
Awesome.
No IAA or AU mode without in app purchase!
Only functions in standalone mode unless you buy full version.
Not scaled for iPad mini 6
Other than that, app has great potential.
I really want to give it 5 stars....but
This synth, is great, really great...probably one of my all time favs for creating patches. You can make sounds with this that you just can’t make with other synths, especially using the 4 track sequencer to drive synth parameters. That alone opens soooo many possibilities, plus the ability to morph between patches. And unlocking it lets you use it as an audio unit ( note to other developers, you’re wasting your time if you aren’t making your synth or fx app an audio unit, you’re missing out on sales. Personally I’ve stopped investing money in non audio unit apps for the most part ) Anyway, Factory is easily worthy of 5 stars except for one thing. When you make a song using it in a Daw, the patch doesn’t load correctly for some presets and you have to reload the preset again, so if you’re using a lot of instances, it make it not worth using it to me. I don’t know if there’s ever going to be a fix, but you shouldn’t feel hesitant about using an app, you shouldn’t have to worry about things like presets loading correctly. I would easily give it 5 stars , but right now it kind of a big deal for me not being able to open a song and just listen to it.
GarageBand
Does not show in GarageBand
Dumbstruck
I am a man of many words. But Factory has just shut my pie hole. I was dumbstruck in the first hour I spent getting lost in this Ap. The Synthesizer Aps we have today are amazing. Its hard keeping up with the flood of totally great synthesizers now piling up in the iOS world. At last count I have 27 and I love most of them - each for different reasons. But Factory sits atop them all! Sugar Bytes has achieved something great here: a feature-rich, complex instrument that is uniquely versatile and yet still highly accessible and easy to work with. I found myself jamming live with great ease even with very complex patches and also quickly and interactively creating rapidly evolving musical material ...all within a single patch. This goes way beyond creating push-button presets to select as needed. You can an actually /PLAY/ this synthesizer. Its a lot like playing with a modular system except the interface is simpler. In fact it's not hard at all. For the future, I would like to see a better scaled-pads type of on-screen keyboard, such as on AniMoog. You can chose preset scales in Factory, but it leaves the chromatic keyboard on the screen and just nulls out the keys that do not fit in the scale you choose. Sugar Bytes should even consider creating user-defined key-pad tunings so that Factory can get deeper into more abstract musical territory.
Sounds great, but now it doesn’t do inter-app with GarageBand
Or AuV3… Disappointed
How ?
Am I supposed to record what I am creating into my Garage band . It’s a lovely app and synths are well juicy… can’t you the developer make accessible within the GarageBand app . Please help. Mr Subjective Materials
Laggy.
Laggy. Screen seems to freeze when choosing preset and loading time is long. Will be a great synth after code is optimized.
Overwhelmed
I can’t put it down. Lot’s of presets to get started but after they Get in the way. With a bit of work it’s design is to understand and generates one can find no where else. Sometimes it’s a stop the madness moment and at other times did I really come up with that moment. Definitely the place to start with sound design if you are serious and maybe the place to end. No, there are others but this is right up there with the best.
Finally a synth where you can see what happens
And so much modulation options. Really great synth! Only the oscillators are a bit technical and could use some explaining.
Another awesome sugar bytes app
I love this Synth app. I get lost for hours every time i use this app, you will too. I leave the world this message get off fakebüch & tooter Turn off your cell phone, ditch mainstream media, stop the doom gloom & negativity, Pick up a synthesizer or a good midi controller GO Create beautiful music that is not corporate crap, music that Brings everyone together, and really make the world a better place not just post about it for likes.
Excellent synth
Sounds great. Fun to program. Ton of modulation. Only things missing for me are ability to modulate the morph slider, modulate fx parameters individually and an option for the arpeggiator to retrig on key press (as opposed to it waiting for the next clock tick). But even with these things it’s very difficult to complain much when it’s spitting out such characterful and interesting sounds. Great job guys.
Brilliant
Factory delivers. Once you work out it’s layout, it is really intuitive. You have such a rich selection of sounds. You can choose to have one oscillator to bypass the filter. You can set up a massive variety of sequences. Anything can moderate anything. And the mod matrix is visible and can easily be morphed. Effects are great. More and more this is my ‘go to’ synth for wavetables and other sounds that evolve.
