I like this app. I redownloaded it after I bought it years ago and it’s better than it was before. I like some of the sounds. They’re good.
Dark UI - borderline scam app
Pretty Cool sounds, really strong synth for an iPhone and iPad app…. Even though i paid for a bunch of the upgraded features quite some time ago - and spending $30-45 or more… it isn’t worth ever using. Dark UI scams you out of your money. Not worth it. How you ask? Every time this app automatically offloads to save hard drive space it will not remember your purchases. There is no “restore purchases” option. Clever girl! (Picturing that scene from Jurassic Park when the raptor learns to use the door handle)… because after a few minutes, upon downloading and using it again, it will ask if you would like to purchase an upgrade to continue using. Again there is no restore purchases option. There are many features for purchase on this app and so…. If you have purchased, and agree to buying again… it will restore your purchases at no cost. If you don’t remember if you’ve purchased a feature or not, and you have not…. It will charge you for something you weren’t sure you already owned. After a couple of years of trying to use this synth, and having been charged a couple of times for things that I didn’t really want…. it can safely be assumed this “faulty” UI is undoubtedly on purpose. Come on, it’s been YEARS. Don’t download this garbage, there’s much better options out there for both your ears and your wallet. DARK UI. APPLE, PLEASE TAKE NOTE OF THIS.

There are many synths out there vying for your attention but do yourself a favour and grab this beast. It’s deep and satisfyingly good!
Great synth BUT...
Great UI, very rich sounds, but your business model is more then A bit disingenuous. I downloaded the synth, immediately fell for the design and ability To make useful textures quickly, THEN after purchasing additional Sound banks, had the message come up “would you like to use this synth permanently (or something like that.) You could be far more clear that this is a paid app. You’re not. That’s very very greasy. It’s the only reason this is a 2 star review. I reluctantly paid the additional 11.99 Stephen Falk I had replied on your website and have yet to hear anything Back
Bisher immer super, allerdings
Ich war bis jetzt immer zufrieden mit der App. Alles so wie hier beschrieben wird. Allerdings ist seit circa zwei Monaten, kein Sound mehr vorhanden. Nur der Standard Sound, vom Öffnen der App. Ansonsten nichts mehr da. wenn das eventuell behoben werden könnte. Dann geb’s auch fünf Sterne. ich finde auch nirgendwo in der App eine Möglichkeit diese zu kaufen. Was ich tun würde, weil die sounds wirklich realistisch sind. ein deinstallieren und erneutes installieren der App, hat leider nichts gebracht.
One of the best
I have quite a few iOS synths, but this is one of the last ones I’d delete if I had to. The sound, design, experience, and developer support is among the best there is for iOS.

Can’t find any answers to question
Is the AU3 broken? It worked for a bit in NanoStudio 2 but now it’s hit and miss. I would’ve assumed it was done fort of trial limitation but there’s nothing mentioned anywhere if 9.99 is required to AU3. It’s presented more as a bug and I don’t want it if it’s buggy with NanoStudio. Now I have to find replacement instruments for several tracks built around these sounds. Well worth $10 if it fixes the problem.

One of the best music developers on the App Store. If this synth was a piece of sleek hardware it would cost $600 or more. Thankful to have high quality synths made with care in software format! Just buy.
Almost but not quite...yet.
Update: Yes, they're better synths (for far less money), like Audiokit One Synth that's free! $30 for the whole app is laughable. Yes, it has good sound but they're gauging us on it's price. I could see the whole package for $15. ------- I have not come across a developer of iOS apps that locks the whole app if you don't but it. $15 is way too high considering the missing "basic features" (no numerical settings values, no note hold, etc.) And now not being able to even look in the app, I change my 4-star review to 1-star. Deleting the app. There are plenty of good synth apps; Crystal Synth, Mitosynth, Magellan, Animoog, Nave, Sunrizer, TC-11 and iMS-20 are some of my favorites. ----- While DRC does yield some real down and dirty sounds, it's missing two important features that I am surprised the developer didn't design into the app. A note hold button is a necessity. Without one you handcuff the performer constantly tying up one hand with the key board. To do it right you need nite hold as well as note hold toggle. The other is there should be a numerical setting display for the control values so you see what the exact setting is. The user interface is better than many synth apps. That aspect was well thought out.

The synths are awesome but AuV3 is always crashing
The synths are really great and it’s a pleasure to use famous synths with a pack. But unfortunately the AuV3 with Garage Band or Beatmaker is always crashing. It is impossible to use it as a plugin. Too bad
interruptions with IAP
Super whack that you allow IAP purchasers to have their music interrupted unless they unlock the synth. I have no interest in synthesis, I want the soundbanks I bought and the ability to play them uninterrupted. Your iaps are quality and they aren’t cheap. UPDATE, UNUSABLE WITHOUT THE FULLUNLOCK. PLS RESTRICT IAP UNLESS SYNTH IAP IS UNLOCKED. BOUGHT ALL THE IAPS (sans iconic). They really are super high quality presets, pairs great w Ringotron. I personally enjoy dropping 4xinstances in Cem Olkay’s bounce sequencer. Wish I didn’t have to unlock the full synth to use the sounds tho
Duped
Downloaded the app and then downloaded some patches for £3.99. A few minutes later was confronted wth a message locking the app unless I paid a further £8.99 and I’d barely used it while having parted with my money. Outrageous.

My favorite software synth !!!
By far my favorite software synth! Period. So easy to use! So much fun! I never get tired of it since it’s so inspiring to pick up and play. The interface is so intuitive. Sound quality is absolutely incredible. It’s hard to believe this is a software synth after hearing the sound quality. Sooooo analog! The team really spend time on this one. Also very versatile, and it goes very deep for you synth heads. It’s very stable too and can easily handle multiple instances in a DAW. Love the midi controller support also.
Too many interruptions
After downloading, I played around with the app, trying to get a feel for it. Unfortunately, every few minutes a dialogue box pops up, enticing me to sign up "forever." If I don’t sign up, I have to wait around ten seconds before the dialog box disappears. This interruption recurs too frequently, so I deleted the app. A shame really, because the app did show promise... but I’m not willing to be put on hold repeatedly while I assess its usefulness. Update... After my review was posted, the developer emailed me, stating that they,” feel sad when people review the business model instead of DRC's sound and features.” The whole point of my review was to highlight the fact that I couldn’t assess the app’s sound and features due to the constant interruptions from “the business model.” As I mentioned in my original review, the app shows promise. But the interruptions are far too frequent, and I feel that potential purchasers should be warned about that simple shortcoming before they download the app. Despite my personal reservations, I wish the developer, and the app, every success.

Didn’t like that I had to buy something before the system could be used, any time a purchase came up, if I cancelled, it would not let me back in to the basic model. Only just bought, so it remains to be seen if it is worth it, or if it’s a rip off.

AUV3 unlock issues
I bought the DRC app ages ago, and the great update AUv3 keeps asking me to unlock in stand alone ....what’s the solution to getting my music making experience with DRC back on track to 5 stars.
Simple in a good way, yet powerful where it counts.
I don’t use iPad synths much these days, but used to all time and this one was a mainstay in my sonic toolkit, as it were. I also have the VST for PC and it’s basically exactly like I stated in the title: simple and concise in terms of layout, but powerful in terms of sounds and options.
Beware
This is not a free app, it is free for about 30 seconds then they ask you to pay over £11.00 , if they had been honest in there description I would have considered paying for it. Apple need to crack down on developers like this.
Lovely sound, BUT...
Since I began programming analogue synthesizers many years ago, I have become accustomed to working with the classic Minimoog paradigm/signal flow. I understand the developers’ desire to come up with something new that makes more sense to them for the apps format. While I appreciate that, it has taken me a little longer than normal to warm up to this synth for that reason. Persistence has paid off, as I can see and hear that DRC goes beyond the limitations of the venerable Minimoog. I think that the synth reminds me of a classic analogue synth that someone has extensively modified to allow for a wider pallet of sounds and sits somewhere between the Mini and synths that have a full blown modulation matrix. There are some lovely features in DRC e.g. the delay and some compelling sounds to be had here. Having said all that, there is one glaring omission that will keep me from using the synth very much until it has been addressed: For some reason the pitch bend intervals are locked in at 0, 2, 3, 5, 7 and 12 semitones. I program ALL my synth patches to bend four semitones, as that gives me flexibility to reach all of the intervals that are musically expressive to me, allowing me to bend into a note and then manually play vibrato that pulls sharp and flat from the target note (like a violinist would do), without having to be locked into that weeny perfect whole tone bend that keyboard players use to sound like bluesy robots. (Sorry keyboardists, that’s just how I see it.) It’s not like I use pitch bend on a every sound, but if I cannot program a lead sound that I can use when I need it, then the app will sit in the “maybe I should give DRC another try...maybe another time” bin for now. Why are the pitch bend intervals locked in this way? No other controls on DRC have such limits. Developers, you did some great work and I wonder if in a future update you can see your way to allowing the pitch bend interval to be set to any interval from 0-12 semitones. Thanks for all your efforts.
Nice design, poor performance on iPhone 4s
I was surprised to see it was free when I cliked on the link in the article I read. The video conviced me and was about to buy it if I got to. Luckily, it cost nothing because I would've felt I've wasted my money. The app loads up but when playing, the sound gives me glitches when playing one or more than one note. I know this has just came out but it would be nice to have a fix soon because I want to get my hands on this! I've deleted stuff to try if it was a space problem but it wasn't the case. Please fix it!!

Wolf in sheep’s clothing
Must admit the cool minimal look of DRC had meant I’d initially overlooked it as just another meh/me too synth, but I snagged the main engine and a couple of expansions in a recent sale, and realised how wrong I’d been. The interface is immediately accessible, well thought out for touch interface, and the tight integration of onboard effects with the immediately comprehensible and familiar controls encourages tweaking and your own preset creation. Even more importantly, this is relatively processor-lightweight in comparison with some mega synth apps, so it means I can actually run it along with a decent complement of other apps in AUM without descending into crackle hell on my IPad Air 2018. Finding it good for my Ambient/lo fi experiments, and I’m buying the remaining expansion packs now at full price as a way to say thanks to a great dev.
Vielversprechend, aber Verbesserungswürdig
Nach den ersten paar Minuten herumspielen, muss ich bemerken: Positiv: der Synth klingt wirklich gut, die Bedienung ist einfach und klassisch gehalten. Alles in allem gut zu bedienen und zu spielen. Die Chordfunktion gefällt mir sehr und erinnerte stark an den Suzuki Omnichord. ABER: Bitte nachbessern, gerade die Chordfunktion hat ihre Schwächen, in der Vollbildansicht muss ich Umständlich durch die Chords scrollen, wenn ich schnell verschiedene Chords spielen möchte. Das geht gar nicht! Besser kleinere und mehr Chordbuttons. In der Synthansicht hab ich zwar viele Chordbuttons, aber das Strumpad hat nicht mehr den vollen Oktavumfang. Ist also auch doof.

It has stopped working
Great synth, but ever since ios12 it doesn’t open on iPhone, black screen for a couple of seconds and then crashes. It still works on my iPad though

App won’t launch
Happy to come back and up the stars, if this “works on my iPad” app actually works. It launches, crashes and minimises showing a black screen. Weirdly, the “contact us” page just shows a totally white screen in my iPad browser. Tweeted the maker, hoping for a fix…

Fantastic sound, easy to tweak. Annoying intrusive demands for App Store feedback. But still completely worth the dollars.
Sad
I was just messing around with the synth. trying to find a sound that I enjoyed, when I came across a glitch, that let me make it sound very very over blown. I instantly fell in love with sound of it. So while tuning this over blown synth to what I wanted I got a message to buy the synth. Not wanting to lose this unique synth, I attempted to buy it. Only to have the app crash on me. When I opened it. The synth made no noise at all. It's broken now and won't make any noise.
