Wonderful app, needs a tutorial
This dictionary has tons of wonderful tools within it. It even helps with stroke order by playing a video, and breaking down kanji into components so you know how a kanji is built from other kanji or radicals. However, there’s so much in this dictionary, it’s really easy to miss out on everything it can do for you. A tutorial or guide would help immensely with getting started with this dictionary. I also think example sentences that can be filtered by JLPT level would help. Sometimes, I look up an easy word that has the most complex sentence I’ve ever seen in my life. I would love for a more predictable spread of difficulty to be included in this app.

Cannot fully recommend until certain issues are addressed
I am a paid, frequent user of Shirabe Jisho. While it is a very good overall app, it has some notable flaws: 1. Bookmarks/saved entries cannot be attached to an account and used between devices. I have 400+ entries saved in my Shirabe Jisho iPhone app, but when I use Shirabe Jisho on iPad or Mac those saved entries do not transfer. 2. There are only two color themes, green and blue, and the blue is actually purple. Purple has poor contrast on a dark background. More colors, please. 3. Font/UI scaling on the Mac OS app is awful. 100% is too small. 200% is broken.
The GOAT
This app has been with me for years. It is an absolute necessity for learning Japanese. The sheer amount of uses it has is insane. The way you can see onyomi and kunyomi AND THE kanji components and pitch accent. Notice how I keep saying “and” because it doesn’t stop giving you materials to use.

Cannot change writing settings in split-screen mode on iPad
As the title suggests, you cannot change your search style while your are in split-screen mode anymore. For example: if you want to search a kanji and want to use the handwriting setting it doesn’t show right up the keyboard like it used to. Please fix this!
How to reorganize flashcards?
I'd like to delete some since I was not sure initially how it works and I cannot find any option to delete those I do not find relevant anymore. Pls help :(

great app. amazing for learning japanese. you get every verb conjugation in a quick list. you can search in english or japanese with hiragana or roman characters. very convenient. very glad it exists

Have been really enjoying this app. So helpful. When reviewing Kanji, if there was an ‘erase last stroke’ option on the scratchpad when practicing it would be so good. I have to delete all my progress on each word if I make any mistake

The best Japanese-English dictionary available
Top marks, does exactly what I need and never lets me down. Missing some net slang but otherwise extremely comprehensive and great UI.
Examples are not helpful for beginner level learners
The dictionary is great overall. Does most things jisho.org has, but offline. However, the example sentences are not helpful at all for a beginner learner (~N4, ~A2) because they do not give simpler examples that highlight the entry’s most basic usage. So the app is great for a quick translations or kanji lookup, but you’ll need to dig further somewhere else for how a word is used.

Good, but…
This is one of the best dictionary apps for Japanese. It has almost everything but a font change. I’d love to have the Kyoukasho font for getting used to a more written style and pleasing to look at Kanji.

I have only scratched the surface of this app but it has met my expectations so far.
One stop shop for all things Japanese
For the most part, at least. As a native Japanese speaker who did not know much about reading nor writing in Japanese, Jisho has been a priceless treasure to me. Fantastic app!

Really easy to use and have almost all the words i have searched so far. Struggles a little with phrases tho.

Has all the features you could want, and is very lightweight to download offline. Never had an issue, and the hand-drawn kanji is amazingly good

As Antolme previously said, yes the search bar getting full quickly is a bit annoying…there should be an option to disable search history or make it less responsive. Overall, it’s a great app!!
