My two boys and I hardly watch anything if it’s not through VidAngel! There is so much filth out there and almost impossible to find and enjoy a good movie or show together without this. I love the new app updates that give context to things as well for a more informed decision! Thank you so much!!
Deceptive
This app is supposed to be promoted to families, filtering, bad constant. But how do you filter something when you have movies on here that are LGBTQ, (heartstopper) you take time to put these kind of movies on here and not good movies. So disappointed with this app. I will tell everyone I know do not get this app. It is not Family orient. If I could give it a zero, I would.
Get Disney!
Love VidAngel but seriously, get Disney and stop limiting channels just because we don’t subscribe to them thru Amazon.
Frustrating
Can no longer stream shows to my chrome cast or Apple TV since the streaming platforms added ads. Makes no sense.
Great but needs fixing
It could be an amazing app….But I do have complaints…it doesn’t have Hulu or tubi not even Pluto tv it makes movie watching very limited and my in-laws have paramount through Walmart+ so it won’t even let us use paramount please add the option to use more platforms
So Happy with VidAngel
My husband and I have recommended Vida Angel to many of our friends and they are so happy that we told them about it. It’s a great way to watch programs and a filter out things we don’t want to see. Also, we don’t have to worry when our granddaughters come into the room that they may see something or hear something that they shouldn’t hear or see.
App lacks support and user journey functionality
As in it doesn’t function. It seems like every month the app gets a little bit worse. Now I can’t even use it on Apple TV s unless it’s a prime video or something… Feels like integration support for various streaming services is non existent. I used to love this app and I still pay my subscription for the 2 or 3 movies we want to watch per month on the service but my patience is wearing thin… I really want to love this app again and will gladly change my review to a 5 star if it would just work!
Great app some small improvements though
Overall this is honestly a great app. The price is reasonable and the quality of blocking out stuff is amazing however some small things that could be changed is for some reason whenever i try to load into a show or movie sometimes even after a while it just wont load. You can restart your device or tv or keep waiting it just wont work which is frustrating. Also, id like to eventually see more shows and movies which im guessing will happen because you can already see good progress now. One last thing, the default settings should just make it so theres no blocking in basically anything pg and under its just unnecessary it makes little sense if you want your child that limited it should be something they have to add not something we have to change but still a great app and great to feel much more guilt free if i want to watch something else
Not user friendly!
For someone who is only moderately tech any this app is almost impossible to set up! An Help is just about non-existent!
Can’t Access Apple Movie Library
Was looking forward to having VidAngel filter content out of my movies… we have a lot of movies in our Apple Library. Unfortunately, the VidAngel App cannot access your personal Apple TV Video Library, it can only filter movies through the Apple TV Streaming Service. Did not see this shortcoming mentioned in any details about VidAngel until I opened an account. I do not want to re-buy my movies… Apple TV and VidAngel should have a marker for videos you already have in your Apple TV library. Oh well, hopefully one day this will get worked out… for now at least Prime can be seen through VidAngel.
Service is great
The service has improved over the years and I have no complaints with it at all. Great service that I recommend to many friends.
Great concept, poor functionality
I signed up for this as I have young teen girls and the concept appealed to me. I paid the monthly subscription for several months but when I wanted to use it, it gave me an error and said I needed to Relink to the app. However, I spent an hour trying to do that but was unable to do so. Not at all user friendly or functional. I had great hopes but incredibly disappointed and would not recommend. $50 later I have nothing for my money except a lesson learned.
Love it
I really love this app for our children but also for my husband and I we don’t want to see all the inappropriate stuff or hear all the cussing since they put it in everything. I would love it if they blurred some stuff instead of skipping the whole scene and you end up missing something. Like I don’t want to see men shirtless it would be great if they blurred it
Okay…
This is a brilliant idea, but it’s not executed very well. There’s a lot of hoops to jump through just to watch, i.e. what devices are compatible, streaming services with commercials aren’t capable, lack of content. They’re very slow at adding content from streaming services they claim to cover, and when I say slow, I mean slow. I’ve been waiting 6 months for movies to be added. Typically movies and shows leave the streaming platform before Vidangel adds them. Like I said, it’s an awesome concept, but Vidangel does a really bad job making it work.
Great idea
I love that this app will remove all the unwanted language and screens however having used it for several years it still freezes and shuts off on the TV screen. If it stops it starts the movie over from the beginning. It can be pretty frustrating. I don’t know why this bug can’t be fixed.
Great
It is perfect for me and my family. The only thing is the subtitles sometimes are not in sinc with the scene, specially if we have to backup or fast forward.
Beware
App doesn’t allow you to cancel subscription. I have to cancel my credit card to get out of monthly fees.
Dysfunctional
This app is nice when it works - which is rare. You will deal with the need to individually link each streaming app that has what you would like to watch. However, linking it might not work about 85% of the time. We have gown through the trouble of downloading the Vid Angel app on our phones, because for some reason it can’t be done from the tv, linking a streaming service and then rented or bought something from the streaming app, but then it keeps telling us we need still need to link the streaming service even though it has been done. Which is a huge waste of money.
Most of the shows I wanted to watch were not available through VidAngel
Great concept, and when it works, it is amazing! Unfortunately a lot of shows are not available through VidAngel. There are shows I can watch though Netflix for example, that I cannot watch through VidAngel, despite th connection. I understand there are some licensing issues, but VidAngel requires me to have th add free version of Netflix to watch most shows.

Frustrated with Incomplete Seasons!!!!
This was a great concept and resource at the beginning of my subscription but for the life of me I cannot understand why The Good Wife series has taken this long to complete on VidAngel. They’ve completed the shows The Good Fight and Elsbeth which were both spin offs that are readily available on VidAngel with both shows being fully available with all episodes. But for The Good Wife there are only two more seasons that we need to complete the series and VidAngel is taking an extremely slow time completing this series. My Wife and I started the series 2 years ago and it’s as if they are now adding a season per year now which is weird considering the series is already completed and available on Paramount Plus. I’ve requested for VidAngel to complete the series but every time I open the app they upload every other show and movie except this series.🤷♂️
Great concept, bad execution
Have used this service for a while. Unfortunately, the last couple months the app has become unusable which makes the service worthless.

Need to fix how movies are chosen
Liked it at first but they decide to use requests to see if they can filter a movie instead of just doing it. We asked for a movie that was a top seller on Amazon for months and performed well in the movies and still nothing. They added every movies behind and after it in top sellers. Doesn’t make sense to me. They should not rely on customers votes just to add movies. Also need an app on Samsung TVs. I’m tired of using my phone to cast it.
We love being in control!
We love being in control over what we watch. We can still watch movies that we love, but we can take out anything that we don’t want to hear or see. We love being in total control over what we watch, and what our children watch. THANK YOU VidAngel!🙏♥️
Clunky
App didn’t allow for managing account and linking services, even after signing up. Tried to login to website to manage linked services, and it didn’t recognize my subscription. Great idea, too bad it’s so clunky!
