Works great(ish)
Latest update makes some vids playback with sound but black screen :-( Don’t forget to check in iOS to be sure the Emby app has “Local Network” enabled. Otherwise, you will get a lot of playback errors.

Update: Now can! [Can’t] play videos via hdmi
UPDATE: appears to be fixed. Stars adjusted. As the title says, can’t play videos out over hdmi. Paid for the playback, but be aware it only works on the phone screen. The server is good, it’s good on Apple TV.
No sound with Tailscale
Videos play consistently well on remote clients. However, Audio files do NOT, regardless of formatting, I.e. AAC, MP3, FLAC. This is an app problem, NOT a server problem … IMHO And BTW, Jellyfin works fine with Tailscale, with the latest Windows backend and IOS app. My workaround? Emby for video, Jellyfin for audio, accessing the same libraries … 😎
Seems to work…
The app seems to work good, however I can’t get it to work remotely with Tailscale nothing plays back including video and audio. However if I open my server in Firefox playback is just fine. Needs some work for remote connections it seems.
Great!
I don’t use the app much; but am a big fan of the service! Mostly watch on TV and have overall see great stability. I’m sure the app is the same.
doesn't work
stuck on loading screen even after deleting and reinstalling and having major issues even before the last update--app simply does not work at all
Great!
Bloody great app with a epic team behind it, they will answer all your questions and help you if needed! It does sometimes crash but realoading it has never not worked for me. Don’t listen to all the other fake reviews this is a bloody great app and a wayyyy cheaper alternative to disney + or netflix
Stopped streaming video over screen share.
Screen share works fine with other apps but Emby quit working.
Exceptional But Has Gone Awry
Used to be an exceptional app; terrific media centre, minimal glitches. The ability to download for offline viewing has recently been removed and represents a huge step back. Hopefully the developers can reintroduce that feature along with others soon!
Emby is Awesome!
Runs slimmer than plex .. much less bloat. If you learn to use the Direct play options it pushes the file for the client to handle. Much better pricing model than plex and Allows for up to 30 device for one price. Highly recommended.

My vampire problem
Hello I’m not trying to complain just wanted to say that I’ve been getting into vampire series you know twilight and stuff like that when I finished watching twilight I started going to vampire diaries and search it up and I say you guys had it so u watch a half of the first season and uh when I type it in to eat my cereal and to watch something it was gone so can you do me the extraordinary effort and put it back I would really like to get into more things and you guys not having it really stops me from doing so, I know maybe a problem happened where you can’t have vampire diaries anymore if so I understand but if you removed it because you think no one was watching it I was so can you please add it back ( also aside from that awesome app 😼) and it would also be nice to add all the twilight if you can I’m not trying to be pushy I just wanted to ask because you never know.
I used to love Emby
I am someone who uses MB almost on the daily. I have a family member who runs a server and allows me to watch and stream media that I wanna watch however, within recent updates, I have noticed I am no longer allowed to screen cast, and I use a projector as my TV so now I’m no longer allowed to watch Emby as TV so thanks for whatever update you did because you’ve completely destroyed your app for me.
Not working
I purchased the app expecting it to work properly with my Emby server, but unfortunately it doesn’t. When I press play, the track stays at 0:00 and never starts playing or syncing. The strange thing is that the same files play normally through Safari and other third-party apps, so the issue seems to be with the Emby app itself. I hope this gets fixed because right now the app is not usable for music playback.
Excellent concept and app
It’s a very unique concept that gets better everyday. The video player is one of the best.
Doesn’t work
I signed up and it didn’t make the account
Please update.
For the next update it would be great if you could implement the ability to input the code (that’s used to jump between accounts)using a phone via the keypad. At the moment you have to input the code via the onscreen UI, which makes it visible to anyone that’s looking.
Not loading
More frequently than not, the app will launch but not load, continuously circling the green ring on iPhone. I’ve done all the fixes Google and others have suggested, nothing works. Extremely frustrating
Update took away the next button
The next button was removed in the latest update. I would like to have that back and a rating system would also be appreciated
I like it a lot
I am pleased with my pro sub and the app. Pretty nice!
Won’t open without connection to server
Was all prepped for a long flight and had some content d/l to my phone. Middle of flight try to open and app won’t even load in an offline mode 😑.

下载非常难用
我经常需要将服务器的影片下载缓存到本地用于在离线的时候播放，但是经常下载不了，或者是下载速度非常慢，请修复该问题
It’s mid
I had hoped to use the music part of the app but it’s just awful. Forget drying to download playlists and listening off line. Plexamp by Plex is light years ahead of Emby in the Music app department. I like Emby more so than Plex. Emby please either fix the existing app for music or create a separate app. Please also add a PlayStation app.
Works great
I haven’t had any problems with this app. You just need to be aware of what codex’s your phone supports, and have your server do the work if your phone needs some help.
No app unlock
Not able to get app unlock to play your own video. This is not reasonable at all!!
Chromecast issues
Chromecast really doesn’t work well but everything else is pretty good
Downloads on home screen
Even though it’s been requested by users for many years, there’s still no way to control/hide the Downloads section on the home screen.
Held Back by UI Jank
So much of this app works great and far better than Jellyfin, where I just migrated from. The player and media loads up far faster, and you can actually change transcoding quality on the fly without waiting 30 seconds for the player to reset as is the case with Jellyfin. But the UI still has jank that doesn’t feel right for a service asking for over $100 to fully take advantage of your own media and hardware. Most obvious and constant is the top navigation bar, which: -When scrolling down: instantly flashes and hides the logo and buttons, turns gray, and slides to the top of the screen at a different rate than your scrolling. Doesn’t seem intentional. -When scrolling back up: slides the logo and buttons down smoothly along with a gray background that nicely blurs images behind it only instantly/jankily hide said background and shoot the scroll bar to the top of the screen when you get back to the top of the menu. It seems nitpicky, but these are the details that makes the experience feel polished and satisfying, and what Plex offers that Emby doesn’t. Or they can fix this issues and others like it, I would find no reason not to recommend Emby over all others TL/DR: Many things work well, but jank and lack of polish hold this back from feeling worth the extra $$$ over Jellyfin.

Missing In Action
The play lists are not showing up.
Overall good
Works well on the M4 MBP, but the cursor does not disappear in fullscreen. This is pretty annoying and needs to be fixed please. Thank you.
They want to be Plex, they’re not.
If you upgrade to “premium” you’ll be sorry. Plex little bro that fies nothing for the same price. Just use Jellyfin. Emby without the greed. Apple TV non stop issues.
If worked as advertised, amazing!
It works generally well, my biggest problem is that when you send it to picture in picture then want to make it full screen again the video goes black and you can only hear audio, please fix!
Great app!
Yes it pay to use but it’s like saying “well why do I need to pay for shipping?” cause the workers don’t do it for free.

Works sometimes
Emmy works sometimes. I sometimes have zero issues connecting. I can log in and connect with my phone… no problem. Tv… forget it. Decided I would try my tablet and it won’t let me select the button for forgot password.
更新后有问题
更新前还好好的，更新后看视频变得一抖一抖的，根本看不了
Way better than plex
I absolutely love Emby I have all of my DRM free Audiobooks music and my personal movie and tv library all on one app the interface is fantastic and I’ve had no issues with the Emby app everything works great yes you do have to pay but it’s definitely worth the cost as jellyfin is way too complicated and plex has become too shady and sells your data I highly recommend Emby for both privacy and ease of use it’s the best media server app out there
Money Grab for Basic Features
It’s ridiculous that basic features like playback are pay walled. Premium features I understand but how is a user supposed to understand the value of your app if you block standard playback
Works great
App works fine.
Good product but app not there yet
The pull-up menu is buggy and video doesn’t resume if you minimize the playback window and then restore it to full screen.
Needs work
App works well for me however I downloaded about 6 episodes(low bitrate )for offline travels and it took about 88gb of storage. I deleted them upon returning and a few days later I checked my storage and Emby still had the 88gb tied up. Emby team please take a look at this! Thank you and well done on everything else!
Latest Update is Fantastic
The latest update has finally fixed all the issues I was having on iPad, now running fast and smooth with no crashes. Online and offline modes both working well and no issues with downloading. I did have to uninstall and reinstall the app as the update hung (not sure if that was Apple OS or the app) but after reinstalling it has been fantastic!
Why
Substantially worse than the web client even on iOS
App
I’m trying to use The Emby app it’s only allowing me to play 1 min of the vid I don’t need that features i’m trying to play movies from the server and Safari has no issue playing the videos
Subscription to download your own files
You have to pay a monthly premium subscription to download movies you own from a hard drive you own to a phone you own. And this all happens locally with no Emby services needed.
Ne fonctionne pas bien
J’essaie d’ouvrir l’application sur mon iPad, mais ne veux tout simplement pas ouvrir. J’ai désinstaller j’ai redémarré ma tablette rien fonction 😔
