I LOVE little house on the prairie thank you sooooo much
Enable previous/next video control on lock screen and control center
I promise that once these issues are fixed, I will change my rating from ⭐️ to ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. The two features I’m referring to are: 1. When a video is playing in the background, I want to be able to skip to the next video or go back to the previous video directly from the Lock Screen and Control Center media controls. 2. These previous/next video controls are currently disabled, which makes background playback less convenient. Please consider adding/enabling these controls. If this is fixed, I’ll gladly update my rating to 5 stars. Thank you!
Need Custom Zoom support
While I am playing a movie, I need custom, Zoom not pre-build Zoom
Just use VLC - Subscription Required
Advertised as free but subscription needed to do anything. Don’t be fooled. Just use VLC.
When it works it’s great
Problem is it is fraught with network issues and server problems and always no matter the problem you get the exact same error and you go from playing fine to never playing again until you have to dele 3gb of cache and delete and reset everything to get it to ever play anything again. It’s a frustrating app and half the time I just end up using VLC just to get stuff off my server to play
Best ever
So easy to use
No What’s Next
There is no proper What’s Next functionality. Additionally they need a plugin to sync with Jellyfin? Seriously how inept are these devs. This is so close to being a great app, but probably just for movie watchers.
It Ticks All the Boxes, for Me
Within the first week of using Infuse I subscribed to a month of Pro. After a month, I subscribed to a year! That is to say, I’ve been absolutely pleased with this app on both my iPads and AppleTVs. It looks great and plays even better. So far it has played everything I’ve thrown at it without a hiccup. Admittedly, these are my own files so there isn’t too much variation in codecs, etc. But considering all of the issues I’ve had with playing very large files and other weird playback issues on other apps, this is still a major improvement. I ditched Plex a long time ago because it felt bloated and unwieldy for my needs. I then switched to Airflow/Airflow Server (the polar opposite) which was very minimal but played everything well, until it didn’t. Once the latter basically became abandoned by its developer I came across Infuse which has since replaced them both. Essentially, Infuse has all the parts of those that I want without all the parts that I don’t: no middleman server app, no obtuse organization, no payback issues, so on. I’m loving it so far. My only complaint, if it can be called that, is that I wish Infuse’s player integrated some of AppleTV’s built in audio enhancement/accessibility features like Enhance Dialogue. This feature is a godsend when dealing with modern films especially things like Christopher Nolan’s? This is the only thing I miss from Airflow: the ability to toggle to the appropriate setting right from the player itself. I won’t even go into my other wishlists because the app is continuously being improved and those may be remedied in updates. The fact that I can just point this thing to a NAS and let it do its good work, is a breath of fresh air.
Barely usable after ios26 update
After ios26 it is almost unusable with my network drive, used to be perfect and now takes 2 minutes to open a folder or it says error. Absolutely awful what used to be a fantastic solution.
extremely glitchy playback on streaming
pausing instantly starts again and requires five pauses to actually pause. the ui is kind of ugly and just feels like a catalyst app. it’s annoying af but does have the best image quality.
not working with latest update
not working with latest update in ftp mode
Don't Purchase!!
Update August 2026: Still cannot recommend this app. Issues are still present. STAY AWAY! App is unable to play files through Airplay saved directly in the app. You have to save them elsewhere and then play them on the app. So you are unable to build a library in Infuse Pro. I have tried contacting customer support, but this issue still has not been resolved and it has been over a year. Also basic functionality like gesture based PIP (picture-in-picture) are not enabled, so you don't get a floating window when you swipe up like almost every other media app. Look elsewhere!
Excellent with one flaw
I love everything about Infuse, the experience on Apple TV shows this is a 100% native app instead of the websites disguised as apps most companies ship today. The only flaw it has is subtitles, if OpenSubtitles has few options for your language, and every one is not synced to your file, it’s very uncomfortable because you have to correct it with offsets, which takes too much time if the offset is big. Would love it if you implemented a way to pick the current dialogue to sync it without knowing the offset, that’s more convenient and would solve my only gripe with Infuse.
tvOS SMB/NTLM Woes
This would be an excellent product — except it doesn’t work on the Big Screen! iPhone, macOS all use the modern IAKERB authentication, but on tvOS, it tries NTLMv2 and fails, and this on v8.5, released end of July 2026. Should be five stars, but not being able to use it on the TV is pretty much a dealbreaker.
Apple TV is good. Mac is garbage
Apple TV is not perfect because the shuffle function for episodes sucks and will play the same 40 out of 400 over & over. The Mac app is atrocious. Regularly stops working claiming a demuxing issue. I have all my permissions fine, and it’ll work fine after I delete it and reinstall, but within a day for back to the demuxing BS. Truly wish we had more alternatives than this and Plex
Outstanding ui
I'm always impressed when an app works well in all Apple platforms
Company scams you into buying same software over and over
I already bought Infuse Pro a few years ago… it was $25. Not a cheap app. I found out today it hasn’t updated in forever and now missing some key features. Guess what? They don’t allow me to download the latest version anymore. They want $99 more dollars to download the latest version. WHAT?!?!?! So now they want a total of $125 for a video player. What. A. Joke. What. A. Scam. They are extorting their customer for more money when we already bought the app. Buyer beware. You might pay $99 today, but tomorrow they’ll probably charge you $200. What a scam company. This should be illegal.
Why I like Infuse
I love infuse but what I don’t like is how after a long time you have to re-download the movie you’re trying to watch. But overall I really like infuse
Love the app - but family sharing is not working for Lifetime
Great way of connecting to Jellyfin, easy user interface for the whole family to use. Having a single app on phones and AppleTV is great for family-apportion. However Family Sharing is NOT working with my lifetime purchase - which kinda makes the whole experiment pointless.
Not built for local home video libraries. Favoriting broken, metadata constantly wrong.
Metadata Fetching has no per-folder exclusion. It’s a single global on/off switch. With it on, Infuse tries to match every home video folder against TMDB and slaps on wrong movie/show artwork. There’s no way to say "match my real movies, leave my home videos alone." You either get false matches everywhere or no artwork anywhere. Manual metadata fixes don’t stick. I went through folder by folder setting metadata to “None,” and as long as Fetching is on, it just gets overwritten again on the next scan. There’s no way to permanently exclude a folder from re-matching. Favoriting is broken for local content with zero explanation. “Add to Favorites” and “Enable Passcode Lock” are both grayed out on every local Files-app folder, whether at the root or inside a folder. Turns out these only work on network shares like SMB, NAS, or cloud, but nothing in the app tells you that. If your videos are stored locally, you can’t favorite or organize them at all. Local artwork (folder.jpg) is inconsistent. Even with Prefer Local Artwork on and a correctly placed and named file, it didn’t reliably pick it up. If you have a real Movies/TV library on a NAS or cloud drive, this app is probably great. If you’re trying to organize a large local library of home videos, be ready to hit walls with almost no in-app explanation of why.
无敌好用
真好用，要是手势操作能自定义就更好了
Doesn’t Work
Repeatedly tell it to synch with my iCloud and it does not. Nor does it see my apple library. VLC is a much better product. Thank goodness I didn’t purchase it! Not worth it.
One of the best video player
User friendly and easy to access I love it but the developer missed to the lock control option the only concern, I believe they are added to the next update.
Gets stuck in a loop
Fetches content for each library in a loop, butthe dashboard never updates and it just keeps re-syncing the same libraries over and over indefinitely. I got Pro hoping that would fix it, it did not. Looks like it could potentially be good.
Well designed, but frequently has issues with Jellyfin
Despite being an app recommended by Jellyfin, it often has critical issues that cause it to not connect properly to Jellyfin. It also does not support the authelia authentication or quick connect log in methods so when one of these critical issues arise, it often becomes useless
Good
Good but has some saving issues
Clunky
This could be so much nut it’s clunky and the meta date sucks! If AppleTV worked correctly I would never use Infuse again.
Infuse is not working with the latest update
The app won’t play anything after the recent macOS update. When I try to play anything it crashes. Please look into the matter
Would be worth if it actually supported the supported filetypes.
I was so excited to see something that integrated Plex and Jellyfin. However, I don't understand why it says that MP3 and FLAC files are supported when it can't actually play them from Jellyfin. Even when turning on library mode for the share, in the settings it can clearly see my "Music" library, but when selecting the library from the home screen, there's nothing there. Some digging online tells me that it's not possible to access audio files from Jellyfin via Infuse. I would be happy to pay for the app if it actually did what it advertised. I wish it were clearer about its limitations.
DOWNLOAD ERROR
When trying to download the movies it repeatedly gives me the same error saying “Download Error Retry” Please help.
Note
I wish it support mkv
Forced to use AI features?
The video-playing is pretty okay on this app. For some reason, it has AI upscaling automatically enabled, but you can turn it off easily. However, something you can’t turn off is the automatically assigned descriptions and thumbnails. For some reason, the developers of this app have seemingly forced AI-generated descriptions and thumbnails for any local file video. For example, I have a video named Razor downloaded, but instead of taking a screenshot from the actual file, it seemingly AI-generated an image for the thumbnail??? I also have a series of videos called untitled1, untitled2, and untitled3, and Infuse renamed them to Untitled#1, Untitled Michael Sequel, and Untitled Beetlejuice 3. Huh???? These are completely unrelated elements to the original video, and I believe the descriptions are AI generated too. I tried messing around with metadata settings in the map to no avail — Beetlejuice and Michael are still here. It is possible to reset the metadata for each individual video, but I’m not doing all that. It’s also VERY laggy to scroll through videos.
Bugs
8k videos are not playing, either video will get hang only audio will play or it wont play the video itself. There are lot of bugs. I cannot fast forward it will show 10,20,30seconds forwarded but it will be playing from same place and cannot move forward draging the seek bar. Fix this
Getting worse with every release.
What happened to this software? It’s sooooo sloooow to do anything. Metadata fetching is terrible compared to Plex, with some just disappearing whenever it feels like. Playlists don’t sync across devices. The Up next list is usually broken. Shuffling playlists is completely broken. ‘An error occured’ shows up constantly. And, iCloud sync seems incapable of actually syncing anything! Has the leadership changed? I miss how it used to ‘just work’.

M4 Mac not supported dolby audio out
Marvelous
Exceptional Wish it’s on android too
WHAT security?
Infuse found my Emby and Jellyfin databases (servers) and accessed them without the use of any user id and password. Under no circumstances would I use this software application. No thank you!
Please add subtitle from files feature please come
Please add subtitle from files feature please come
Pip mode very buggy
The player in Picture in Picture mode is very buggy. Basically doesn’t work. AI scaling could also be better, why do I not have the option to pick a resolution?
Subscriptions and video not playing
The app is good but even the offline videos which are of 1080p are not playing, it repeatedly asks for Subscription and at the same time some videos are playing.
Works very well
I use it to access my network storage library, works very well n stable. Hope someday it will support pictures n music files
Dropping to 1 star, iPhone version is horrible
The iPad version would get 5 stars, but every time I try and watch something using my phone, it’s pure torture. It sometimes takes as long as 10 mins to get it to sync. Then syncing takes 10+ minutes. The plex app syncs in about 20 seconds or so, so this is 100% an infuse issue. The iPad version doesn’t do this for whatever reason.
magnificent
If youre searching a video player to play HDR content then this is the player you need.what a video player, everything is just perfect. Please allow EAC3 in free version.
Great, another subscription!
Putting random features (that have no ongoing costs for the developer) behind a subscription is lazy and predatory. Would happily pay a reasonably high one time purchase for this app, it works great and I’ll pay for new features if I want them, but a lifetime recurring payment for Casting and Airplay? Get in the sea.
Save is not working
Suddenly save option is not working
World Class Media App
Infuse has been my favorite streaming app for years now and they just fixed the one thing which had given me a bit of consternation (a SMB share being faster at home via direct IP vs reachable away from home via Tailscale) by letting you specify multiple endpoints for the same share. This has saved me a ton of work and I decided it’s time to pull the trigger for lifetime license after that. Thanks Infuse team!
$2 a month to play a video
$2 a month to play a video. At least Microsoft’s greed is a one time payment to play a video codec. The greed of this app is a recurring charge to hope you forget about it.
Very very good
It works very good many times but sometimes looks like syncing doesn’t happen when i add video in my mac or iphone sometimes it takes time, also player can be more smooth sometimes jitters happens in between of play and also app can be more easy to use.
Earlier it good
Not able to pay all formats, ask money all the times.
Zoom mode support
Zoom mode Aspect fit is not supported in apple tv. Can this feature be available in tv
