Reliable and great!
Love this app, easily allows me to find someone to look after my kitten! I wish texting feature allowed for reactions. Such as holding down the other persons text and being able to thumbs up, love heart and laugh.
Unfair Commission
Takes 20% fee from sitters for doing nothing more than providing the app. Disgraceful.
Glitchy app
Can’t submit booking requests on more than one occasion. Have to “re-book” but not possible if want to book a new sitter.
Updating calendars
Trying to update is a shocking experience. Going around in circles trying to get a difference between Available and unavailable- terrible experience. Trouble is instructions written buy someone who has lost clarity.
More vetting of sitters needed
Whilst I have found a handful of great sitters on the app there appears to be a huge amount of inactive (not per sat for over a year for example) and unresponsive users. You might sent 10 queries for 1 response. Non responsive and non active sitters still show up in search which is frustrating and many don’t update their availability calendar so they show up in searches for required dates but for some reason are not available. The developers should do something about this or do recruitment campaigns to widen the net of actually available and committed sitters.
Great app for my Dog.
Loved using this app to find and then communicate with our pet sitter while we were on holidays.
Unreasonable pricing
The pricing is a bit unreasonable, it’s $30 plus for a daily visit but it charges by each pet? So if you need 4 pets just fed that’s $120 a day and all they are doing is showing up to feed them. Some sitters are charging $100 per pet, pricing should be based on a visit and if there’s extra pets it shouldn’t be multiplied it should just be an addition $5-10 per pet.
Mad Paws
Good application
Bugs galore
Not only does the app completely consume your phones battery life within a day the bugs make your phone completely unusable. Genius Bar were blown away but the amount of battery it takes to run. Random pop ups, screen constantly zooming in and out without touching the screen. Screen colours flashing, It completely shut my phone down and would not start for hours. Don’t waste your time. Use the web browser.
Battery drain crazy
Using the app itself is fine. But since I ve used it my phone is warming up a lot and battery goes down very fast, and I checked it was running for hours in the background even I wasn’t active using it.
Battery eater
This app eats battery. If you forget to close the app yourself then with in an hour you will realise your battery has gone from 100 to 10. I think it is mining on the background
Drains battery
This app drains your battery. No matter what I do I can’t turn it off. I will likely need to delete the app just to save my phone battery,
Clunky and frustrating
Thought I’d be better off using the app v the website on my phone but boy was I wrong
Made by Dogs?
Honestly the most terrible app I’ve ever used in my life, I regret putting my card details in. It’s a good idea but has awful, terrible UI that does not work at all
Battery Draining
This update has been draining my battery insanely fast, to the point where I need to be charging my phone multiple times per day. Can we sort out a fix for this asap please as I need this app due to regular bookings
App not great, but services are!
I have no complaints about the actual pet-sitting, only the app. I have used it a few times over a year and found it difficult since my initial download. Firstly, despite how basic it is, the app is not intuitive. Secondly, I have had technical issues a few times and there is no contact information to reach out for support. Typing my issues into the troubleshooting bot box results in a blank page every time. My sitter has manually edited things for me in the past which was quite helpful. I’d love to use the service again but have no way of finalising a booking request due to app issues. Every time I return, I hope it will have improved but no such luck after a year… maybe it’s just me, but it’s very frustrating and time-consuming.
Sucking all my battery life
I had to delete the app from my iPhone because it was sucking all the battery life from my phone being “open” in the background, even when I swiped up to close the app. Tried to report this to the developer but got sent to an AI chat bot. Very unhelpful. Get a real link for people to report bugs or don’t bother.
Battery sucking
The app is good - made communicating with our puppy sitter much easier. But the app drains the phone battery, even with everything turned off. So I’ve had to delete the app and will rely on the website.
Buggy App
The App has got worse in the past few days. Now I can’t even see the message I’m typing on the booking page. The tech support link doesn’t work.
Incredibly clunky app that isn’t reliable
Mad Paws, please fix your app so it’s user friendly. Half the time, messages simply do not show up. Simple things like when making a booking, I have to type my name and number in every single time. It’s ridiculous. Also when I click “rebook” for a sitter, it takes me *to my own booking page* (I do dog sitting too). I can never get back to the actual sitter’s profile. Honestly horrible.
Careful of this update - impacts battery life
This version (for me) has had a dramatic adverse reaction to my battery. I wont go into all the details, but this version of the app made it impossible to keep my phone charged today without being plugged in. I deleted the app and all is back to normal with my battery life.
Love the service but app isn’t consumer friendly
Love this app but every time I want to go back and see the list of pet sitters in my area, I have to re-type my location and service.
No cancellations for repeat weekly bookings
This app does not allow you to cancel the repeat weekly booking, who needs permanent weekly services?
I’m automatically looking for a sitter?
I’m so confused with this app, I thought this was both for pet sitters looking for pet sitting jobs as well as pet owners. But logging in doesn’t seem to give you the option to choose, very frustrating experience. Simple flow choosing between “are you a pet owner or pet sitter” would solve this
A great service but a lousy app
I have tried unsuccessfully six times to book a short stay with a carer. On two occasions, the calendar would not work. On the other four times, the booking button would not work. This App needs to be fixed or Mad Paws will lose customers.
Pages unresponsive
Very frustrating. App works fine until you get to a sitter’s profile page and then nothing works. Can’t view their photo, detail or contact them
Bad bad bad
Great idea, really bad execution. The App is not easy to use, bookings are a nightmare to edit or cancel. Don’t download it, try something else.
Not user, especially sitter, friendly
A pet owner and I noticed an issue where neither or us were able to extend an upcoming dogsitting booking after it had been paid, so I had to change my house visit rate temporarily so that they could book me for an additional day. I also think a report button or reciprocal rating system needs to be introduced, similar to Uber or AirBnB, allowing sitters to warn other sitters of dishonest pet owners.
They don’t care about pet sitters
Got a frustrating experience with a pet owner. Her dog was lovely however hyperactive and caused my dog shaking and teeth chattering due to fear, so I had to send the dog back and the owner after hearing about her dog terrifying mine still got mad and only cared about how this affected her little plan instead of being considerate of how the situation affected me and my dog so much more. She didn’t warn me about his hyperactive temperament and barking issues even though we had a meetup beforehand. However, support team couldn’t support me in any way, causing me making multiple phone calls while monitoring the dogs as the support staff kept repeating some pre-written script. This made the whole experience more frustrating, and they went to demand video footages and more proofs of the incident, like how could I film or make sure the dogs are caught on the CCTV while I was already struggling making sure they’re both safe?! I ended up not only not getting paid a cent for about 3-4 hours of taking care of the dog (only to have to send him back as he scared my dog), but also got blamed and insulted by the owner for ‘wasting her time’, then dealing with the whole ‘proving’ for what happened with MadPaws support team only to end up not getting anything out of this but an inform that they will ‘keep an eye of the owner’s profile for future reference’, and my account also got suspended. I don’t need the money, or the account as I decided from the moment I made multiple phone calls and no help was offered, that I would never return to MadPaws either as a sitter or owner, I just wanted to leave this feedback here and hope that many people can see this and reconsider using MadPaws. Provided unfair solutions and got bad support system especially for pet sitters, and many other feedbacks here would say the same thing.
Clunky unusable app
Great idea and is awesome when you can coordinate something and payment works etc, however the app is terrible, so many bugs and is incredibly frustrating to use
