Next 5 feature back in Iphone
At last, the Next 5 trains started working in IOS18 for me. Without this feature not working in IOS for a long time it was a mess . Now it’s good !
Can’t track v-line on their own app……
just like the timetables, customer service, & operational reliability - this app is no different. poorly laid out, unintuitive…. oh and did i mention YOU CANT TRACK YOUR TRAIN IN REAL TIME!! well not on Vlines own app for its own trains….but you can on the PTV app?? very poorly designed app nonetheless, amateur hour. terrible ui, unintuitive… not sure what the purpose of it is??
Needs improvement
It desperately needs an option to cancel and amend bookings. Otherwise reasonable good.
Bug: widget unavailable
Widget used to be available, no longer available in ios 26. App still refers to a widget in a splash screen despite this lack of functionality
App not working
Since I’ve installed the app. I am not able to check train scehdule, and updates maybe there is glitch in app.
Does the bare minimum
So it tells me when trains are arriving/leaving, and from which platform (the bare minimum). It doesn’t tell me if trains are running late … well it kinda does, it just sent me a notification at 1132 that the 0652 train is running 25 mins late … which makes this feature pretty much redundant.
Splitting Trains
Why can’t you put in the app if and where the train will divide in two, nothing worse than getting on the train only to find out you’re in the wrong carriage to get to Ballarat etc, especially if you get a different time slot to your usual train. Plus when you’re planning out the carriages that will split, make sure one at least one has the bike spots on them that go all the way and not those rubbish velocity ones that share seats and bike spots, they are just an argument waiting to happen between tired travellers. So far I’ve had some great conductors, like today, who are willing to help out but no doubt I will get one who will ask me to get off the train because you haven’t planned it properly.
App Not Working On iPhone 16 Pro
I installed the app and the phone is connected to the Internet. I am not able to retrieve any data on the next 5 home page. Be it any service or any source and destination. Nothing comes up. Other things on the app are working fine just the next 5 home page is not showing anything. It only gives a message that the phone may not be connected to the Internet. Phone model- iPhone 16 pro. iOS - 26.5.2.
Widget doesn’t work
App interface looks great and it’s easy to set up, but it doesn’t appear as an option to add the widget to my home screen, no matter what I try
Geelong the worst line
It is 2026 and I can’t count how many times Geelong line got problems, just last week the line got problems 2 times, that took me 5 hours back home. Seriously considering moving.
Next five
Next five is useful but need to be able to toggle to see more than that or modify day/date you need to travel (like PTV app). It’s annoying that I need to constantly use the PTV app to work out travel plans. Would rather just use this app.
Doesn’t work
Vline have obviously given up on this app. Still doesn’t work properly errors users have been reporting for years not fixed.
Needs work
Clunky. Needs fine tuning. When you add a ticket to wallet it doesn’t list your seat number. Rookie mistake. Also should have an option to create account on the app & save your details so you don’t have to keep filling them out every time.
Time table
I recently installed app for to check the timetable but it’s doesn’t tell me any timetable for the trains despite being added my journey, useless app to he honest😐
Retro
Using this app takes me back to a simpler time… If you’re going to render a web page within the app, please make it functional. I just want to know, when I’m at Southern Cross and can see the next train to Deer Park leaves in 4 minutes (PTV App), which platform I need to race to. A lot of trains go through Deer Park, and a lot of trains don’t. The App should tell me this easily. But it doesn’t
Almost completely useless
Next 5 doesn’t work and just says that you’re not connected to the internet - even though you are. Hasn’t worked for years. Genuinely lucky to be averaging 2 stars
Bug
Please fix live line status so it is visible on ipad mini. Only right hand side is visible.
Doesn't work properly
My app does not work properly.. I tried to delete the app and reinstall it many times but it still does not show the next five scheduled V/Line services and Southern Cross station platform information. :( everyone in my family and friends are able to use it without an issue.
When is next 5 going to be fixed?
I actual like this app. Doesn’t always refresh in time but in general good. There is currently an error with no info available on ‘next 5’ . It has been days now. Any idea when error will be fixed?

When is the next 5 getting fixed
I’ve got the newest iPhone, iphone 17 and I’m still getting the message “Please check your internet connection and then tap to try reloading this service” which I previously would get with my iPhone 14. I have no internet issues and this is an iPhone 17 Pro with the latest iOS.
