App and user
Not a good app. Very hard to install and set up. No support
Below Average
Having all the features locked behind an additional subscription feels grubby. I could almost forget about it but all the features are pushed in the app. I have to scroll all the way past features I’ll never buy to see my data on the Home Screen. I don’t want your extended warranty.
Great!
Works well , never any issues. I would like to see a wall mounted control unit which is available in Airbnb package but not as a standalone item to buy.
Terrible connection problems
They really need to improve the connection to the units
Needs a UI overhaul
This has definitely saved my energy bill but the “climate react” feature is poorly implemented and lately - it’s not working. I’ve tried to email them to no avail. It’s a simple fix though. But ideally - the entire app design should be overhauled both logically and visually
Great product
overall this is a great product. It automates a number of the functions and I spent a lot of time doing manually. The most difficult thing is controlling the climate react configuration with the schedules – there seems to be no way of using the current climate react settings and then applying them to a new schedule. This is more an irritation rather than a criticism.
Good when it works. Doesn’t work for long.
Sensibo didn’t have my air conditioners’ controls in this database but a different model at least allowed very basic controls. I was happy enough with it until, about a year or so after buying it, it just stopped being able to detect any WiFi signals. I’m assuming hardware failure. I’ll try a different brand next time.
Latest update has bugs
So far, the device and the app have been working fine for me. However, the latest update seems to have bugs that need to be addressed. I’m getting asked to give permission on physical activity but there are no options to tap. Just blank buttons.
Good enough but full of ads
App works, though disappointing to pay a decent whack of money and then get blasted with ads or locked features at every point.
Huge potential, some ongoing bugs
After much research, I bought the Sensibo Sky wifi for use with a popular Fujitsu AC. Main use is for timer and remote turn on and off. Initial setup was quite simple, I had to choose and trial a few Fuji remotes manually before settling on one. I have it setup in a location that can send signals to AC and can also receive signals from AC’s remote. UI is ok once I got used to it. The main issue for me is that it doesn’t work consistently. Location is same, settings are same, but it only turns on the AC 70% of the time. I recommend the developers need to use data logging to figure out why. I need more, but won’t be buying until fixed.
App Not working
Was working perfectly for a couple of months but with the latest iPhone update cannot get past the loading screen of the app. Thanks so much fixed in a couple days. Back to working perfectly!!😀
Subscription
After paying $150 for the product, you would expect to have all features available. Cannot recommend, buy one of aliexpress, does the same thing and no monthly fee to use your device on your phone on your air conditioner.
Air quality sensors way off
Just installed one of two Sensibo air pro’s I brought and didn’t have any problems with the setup process or the functionality controlling the air con. However once up and running I noticed the displayed temp was 10% out ( 2 devices showed 25c, Sensibo 22c) humidity no where close ( Devices showed 60%, Sensibo 76%) and air quality TVOC no where close to other devices that measure air quality. All other devices were within 1% of each other, the Sendibo being the outlier. Temp and humidity can be “calibrated” via the web login but it doesn’t give me a lot of faith on what the Sensibo sensors are measuring.
Support is below standard
I have four Sensibo devices and one has ceased to function; despite reset and manual adjustment the signal has stopped working. The chat support is hopelessly slow and unresponsive!
It works but is expensive and clunky
When these first came out they were a game changer. Now they’re competing in a more mature market and their pricing and app ux don’t make a lot of sense in that context. Setup initially is clunky and fraught with issues around wifi band support being hit and miss on modern routers and then despite the premium for the base devices (which haven’t fundamentally changed in years) there’s a paywall behind some fairly simple capabilities. If they cost 50% less up front this would be a higher rated review but premium price demands premium products and services.
So so good
I feel like Sensibo has changed my life for the better. I can make sure the house doesn’t get too hot or cold when I’m out. Either by checking and manually adjusting, by scheduling it or by setting a temperature parameter so it changes itself if it gets too hot or cold. I have set up with Google home too so I can verbally adjust it. Compared to not knowing the temp, having to dig up the remote or leaving the air con on all day because it’ll be too hot at 3pm, it’s FANTASTIC! Side note - don’t know why the last reviewer talked about scheduling being behind a paywall, it’s just not. I don’t pay a subscription and I can do it all. I don’t care about it getting fancy with bom integration or needing it to suggest schedules I know myself so haven’t subscribed for that stuff. How wonderful to be able to adjust the aircon that’s in the next room from my bed without having to get up and use the remote! Brilliant! Love it P.s. this is the best review I think I’ve ever given a product. I have recommended Sensibo to so many of my family and friends.
Seriously a SCAM
Paying $150 for an infrared wifi pod and THEN paying $5 a MONTH for a subscription to add a WIDGET to my Home Screen? You’ve got to be joking. ABSOLUTELY ridiculous.
What about Apple Watch app??
I need Apple Watch app please
App issue
Not very reliable device, gives false information . When we turn off or turn on ac it’s not guaranteed that it will work .
Temperature
The app seems to change itself from Celsius to Fahrenheit by itself, something for the the app team to investigate?
Fantastic product
Works super well for me with our Daikin split aircon (AC) - much better than the Daiken MobileController native in most ways. Also works well with our Alexa assistant which was a big deciding factor in us getting it.
Expensive and always asking for more money
Apparently the device payment isn’t enough so they spam you to give them more money
Bug
The schedule got bug keep showing turn on instead of turning off
App just advertises the subscription
Open app and half the display is trying to push the ‘premium’ features. I won’t be adding anymore Sensibo devices to my household.
Great(ish)
Brilliant but complex, hard to know what does what and not seeing all the rules in one place makes it hard to understand the interaction between them. Window sensors seem like a good idea, but the system doesn’t know if you left the window open all night, so the other rules seem to ignore the sensor state. One day I’ll figure out the right combination of rules, but I really don’t think I should have to. It should be far simpler.
Great product!!’
Always works. Easy to set up and use on my phone and I love I can set it up that it turns on when it hits a certain temperature to make sure my pets are safe when I’m not here. Also love the fro fencing which turns it on when I get close to home and turns it off when I leave. Love love love Sensibo!!!!!!!
Hopeless
The app tells you to complete processes which are completely wrong. The tech support is non existent.
Good features, but app is unintuitive
I just have the free version and I’m mostly fine that there are features I have to pay for (and don’t have). The schedules and Climate React are very helpful. However, I feel like the app isn’t the most intuitive. Also, it keeps switching from Fahrenheit to Celsius for some reason. I had Climate React on for a few days without realizing it. The name “Climate React” (to me) implied that it was monitoring public weather/climate data and making small adjustments accordingly (wrong). I looked at their online help for Climate React, which no longer matches their interface at all, even though it was updated in the last week. I had to stumble around the app to find the settings for Climate React (there’s a swipe-up menu at the bottom, rather than under the settings gear menu).
Disappointed
12 month update, unit constantly out of sync and requires manual intervention, not worth the subscription fee when similar products do climate control without extra fees and charges
Decent product but subscription not fair
The sensor and controller are excellent but the experience is dampened by an app that you have to pay more for half the features, many of which are arbitrary as they don’t appear to cost more to run. Most frustratingly, they have done nothing to improve climate react in over two years. You can’t set multiple thresholds or have different triggers. For example, I want dry mode to turn on for a humidity trigger but off when it becomes too cold. Apparently letting me do that has never occurred to the developer even when I pay a subscription.
Works as advertised
I’m buying another sensor for the bedroom.
Grubby
It’s great that I can remotely control my aircon whilst I’m not home and ensure that it can turn on when temperatures rise but that’s it. Considering how expensive it was to purchase to then put basic features behind a subscription paywall that are available in other home automation apps or on the actual remote of the air con just seems grubby to me. For example widgets and auto off, plus extended history —which is likely saved regardless of subscription or not. Despite many attempts and resets I have never been successful in connecting Sensibo to my Home app. The remote system is ridiculous and not compatible or even close to similar with the actual remote of my popular brand of air conditioning unit. I cannot select eco mode as an option at all on any of the options that actually work with my unit. The app is not user friendly and unnecessarily difficult. I have been closely monitoring the market and once another system that isn’t so grubby is available I will be ditching Sensibo for a better option.
Missing a widget
App itself is great and the Sensibo itself works well. The only thing I miss is a widget to easily control my A/C without having to actually go into the app.
disappointing
the device itself is fine, but the app is cumbersome and irritating to use. i spent $150 on the sensibo (really just an infrared transmitter) so i find it ridiculous that most simple software features are locked behind a subscription paywall. and homekit integration is disappointingly sparse, it displays as a thermostat and not an air conditioner, so misses things like fan mode, fan speed, and swing/louvre controls.
Multiple unit control
There needs to be a way that you can change the settings and set schedules for multiple units at once.
Sensibo App
Excellent way to convert an IR Remote controlled AirCon to a fully smart App controlled unit. Apart from a little hiccup connecting to WiFi it has been superb.
Subscription for a widget??
Egregious business model. One of the reasons for getting the Sensibo was to quickly turn your AC on and off with your phone. The last thing you'd want to do is dig through layers of menus in an app to switch your AC off. So of course you'd want to slap a widget on your phone so you can quickly control your AC. Unfortunately, such basic features are hidden being a subscription model. I'd understand the need for a subscription for server-based features. But for a widget? That's just money gouging.
Almost perfect
The great: the promise of a energy saving product...it works if it works at least most times The good: ability to link to major smart voice assistance services, remotely control aircon outside of home, smart sensors (climate react)to turn on or off at certain conditions, scheduler, etc The not so good: the geofencing is a hit or miss, sometimes it doesn’t detect that I’m out of the home to turn off. Will also be good if the climate react has day and night settings as it’s much warmer in the day and cooler at night in certain places so one setting doesn’t suit both day and night.
Why is pure boost for Sensibo Air Pro suddenly ON and requiring a subscription to deactivate?
I was pretty happy with the basic features for the Sensibo Air Pro available in the free app, and like everyone else declined a subscription because the hardware is expensive enough. But now, after purchasing Sensibo air purifiers, Pure Boost is suddenly turned ON for the Sensibo Air Pro (ironically not the air purifiers) and I cannot disable it without a subscription. It wasn’t like that before? Is there some feature that got activated when I added more products to HomeKit? This is beyond frustrating especially since it determines there is poor air quality when every other sensor in the house has a good air quality reading.
Hmmmm
After paying $NZ 200 for the equipment, the constant reminders to ‘upgrade’ to the premium subscription service are beyond the pale. The actual kit works reasonably, although limits the functionality of my air con. Would be good to have add ons to support features of specific brands and models. For the price tag, I don’t think this is an unreasonable expectation.
Great
Fantastic and easy to use.
Charges for features available through remote
Good product to essentially control your AC from your mobile. Works fine. However, they have paywalled features that I have on my remote for my AC. So, I would have to pay a monthly subscription fee now, if I were to use them from my phone. My AC has an anti mould function. However, after buying the Sensibo unit and installing the app, if I want to use that feature, I need to subscribe to a monthly ongoing fee… Potentially they could justify increased functionality but limiting access to features that you use… Not a great idea in my opinion
A big step forward!
The app is a big leap forward with 3.3. Love the new UX, love that is sports flyover mode on iPad, landscape mode and is a fully featured ipad app. 1 more star available if you can fix the update process (hung on logo page, needed to uninstall on all devices and reinstall to get working), add more api features so I can leverage more iOS shortcuts like turning on and off climate react. Good to see the ongoing updates. Thanks!
Requires subscription for some features
Installed the app for a new Sensibo Air. The hardware works (though the setup was messy and involved multiple resets), and basic software features work also. But beware: advanced automation features require an ongoing paid subscription. For example: reacting to climate is free, and reacting to geofencing is free, but combined? You have to keep paying. Controls in the app are free, but a widget on the Home Screen? You have to keep paying. I was not expecting this after purchasing the hardware, and to be honest it feels like a bit of a bait-and-switch. This kind of automation is why I wanted this device instead of the old-school remote control. To be clear: the basic functionality remains free (of course after purchasing the accompanying hardware). The developers appear to be justifying the extra (optional) subscription as advanced AI features. But I don’t want AI, I just want to combine simple automation rules, or use a widget. To be honest, this was enough of an unpleasant surprise that it has soured me on purchasing more units for other rooms in the house.
Previous UI is much better.
Previous UI is much better.. there are too much things going on. Please make it simple friendly UI..
Great product
Awesome product makes ac unit smart and easy to use
Sensibo servers down
Sensibo’s servers are constantly down making the app useless. Their devices cannot be used as they are dependant on there servers Of course their website is down as well so customer service, trouble shooting or feedback pages cannot be opened. Need to find another brand of ir blaster with reliable operation.
Very nice. Suggestion
Ok since the device does NOT recognize if you turned the ac on or off with the original remote, It would be smart to have a notification based on the temp and humidity change that would be converse to the on/off status. For example, if the status on the app is shown as off but the temp and humidity are reducing , a pop up suggesting the user to confirm that it’s off would be nice. “AC is possibility ON” And vice versa, if the temp and humidity is rising and the status is on, a pop up for the user to check if the ac is running. “AC is possibly OFF” You can even go further and have a feature as a “smart on/off beta” which analyze that the temp and humidity change to determine if it’s on or off. The user can select to activate and of course would only function in a room that is a closed environment. This may not be compatible with climate react. Why this may not work in which this could be labeled beta. If a room has intense sunlight and the temperature raises despite being on which then makes the user think it’s off. If they then toggle the power on/off they may shut off the ac which will increase the temperature rise even more. I think the humidity level would be the key. I think if sunlight is introduced, the temperature could raise but if it’s a closed environment, the humidity should still not raise. This could be tested with engineers to determine how effective.
Subscription service is a bit of a cash grab
The subscription features are things that would be offered as basic functions of any smart device, especially one you’ve paid for as much as a Sensibo unit costs. I can’t see why my $10 IR hubs can do functions that my Sensibo thinks are worth charging a monthly fee for. I’ve used mine for many years now and I’m happy with the performance of the hardware but the existence of a paid subscription for the app and the fact the developers gate basic features off makes the software experience feel like a weak cash grab. With a subscription service like this I absolutely wouldn’t buy any more Sensibo devices personally since I don’t think you actually get what you pay for up front, the hardware cost means nothing if the developers are able to decide to gate off features and make users pay for them.
Good platform but the schedule functions can be improved
We bought Air a month ago. Overall it functions well. It would have been perfect if the schedule function can be improved to include time frame. This is because people routine change throughout the day. At night we are sleeping hence the sensor might not detect anything for long period of time. In contrast, the temperature is hot during the day but we might be going in to one room to pick up some thing for just a few second but this triggers the air con. Hence two points less.
