All I can say is it’s first class and a brilliant piece of kit
Does not do anything
Checked the Carista website, my car model is listed as compatible. Bought the app and was charged twice for the same app. Tried to get it to work on multiple occasions but could not access any settings in my car. 3 incident reports logged and multiple chats with customer service and still did not work. Denied a refund even though I was mis-sold the product. £25 down and about 6 hours wasted. Buy this app at your own risk.

Works Well (2014 Audi A3)
I was a bit dubious after reading the mixed reviews but can confirm it works for my 2014 Audi A3 without issues. Recoded my new battery quickly, disables stop/start on ignition and triggers DPF regen on command. Haven’t tried all the features as I’m not sure if they’d affect my insurance or warranty, but I’ve no reason to doubt they would work properly. My only gripe is that the app is bit of a battery sapper, my phone dropped about 15% in around 10-15 minutes. But other than that I’d say it’s worth the £42 for a year just for what I’ve got out of it so far.

You can not do dpf static re-gen or any other services listed on there app page. Car must be too old. Wish I had of know before spending the money.
Major increases in subscription pricing.
Even though their own website FAQ says you can purchase a 1-month subscription for $14.99, there is no longer any option to buy that term. Instead, you must pay for an expensive full year, or an in-app single month of use priced at $29.99 — a 100% price increase. The software is nearly useless without a subscription. Other apps offer comparable functionality at much less cost. Too bad that Carista let greed ruin their excellent product.
Only runs when connected to internet
The software works well and is easy to use. But if you're outside cellular data or WiFi range, it doesn't work. Very bad for overloading. Implement standalone functionality for reading & resetting fault codes, 3 stars would be 5
It’s amazing but…
Carista is amazing, i’ve had it for ages and it does everything it says it does. Now this is no fault of carista but i just want SFD2 unlock, maybe some more info or timescale. I currently have a 2024 Seat Arona FR and i can’t do anything with the scanner which is the only problem other than that genuinely best thing you can buy for your car
EVO scanner “bricked”
Told via app to update to latest version to carry on using. Scanner no longer works!! Will not connect to app anymore. Support absolutely useless. UPDATE. 05 Aug 2026 After receiving a response (and after spending the last week back and forth with “support”) I received the instructions on how to “reset” the EVO module. A further 2 hours and no further on, will not connect and carry out firmware reset/update. As said, the module is bricked following previous update!! Send me a return envelope and you can have it back to fix at your leisure, it’s of no use to me.

All paid platforms offer a connection via ENET D+Kan, but this one in particular does not, forcing you to buy an adapter.
Does not pull up Chassis and Engine customization on Grand Highlander Hybrid with JBL
The app does see many features in my 2026 Toyota Grand Highlander Hybrid Limited. The Carista website claims app will be able to defeat engine noise (ESR) and noise cancellation (ANC), but it did not pull these up. I then bought the subscription thinking that’s why, but no. So careful with your money, their list of supported vehicles and customization claims might be incorrect and Apple Store wills reject refund requests.
Good device, meh on the app.
The Carista OBD2 is nice and works as advertised. While a short operating manual would be nice, a little perseverance works gets the job done. However, once the device is purchased, one must deal with the app which is apparently designed to get you to upgrade to the EVO model (which appears to require a subscription). Upgrade ads are as constant as they are annoying. It would be nice if the developers would tone it down and leave you alone once you reject the upgrade offer. Just my two cents.

I purchase the evo tool and this app in hopes of relearning tpms sensors with a rav4 2013. The functionality is listed on the Carista website for my make and model. However this functionality is not available in the app.
Brilliant bit of kit
I used the Carista evo scanner to do a lot of things to my scirocco works like a treat. Might even consider joining the beta testing
Not all EV. Compatible even with subscription
Not great, only performs basic scan for the ECU only, does not scan all modules even with the subscription for a 2026 Ford Explorer EV, got a TCU historical / latched code for sos e-call and can’t get into the module to clear out the code. TCU is working fine just got a code that needs clearing out to remove the amber warning symbol but Carista can’t do it.

This works well with my Lexus but costs far too much for occyuse

This was a waste of money. Although it promises great hidden features for your car, be careful. Make sure your car can do what they promise. Mine did not. I was expecting to code 5 features that they said my car had. Only one worked.

Excellent
Bought Carly on Black Friday since I believed their false advertising. Big misyake. Couldn’t customize anything in my car. Spent couple jours trying. Lost 40 british pounds since they do not accept returns. Fuming.. Went for Carista that same night. The scanner arrived in 2 days after purchase with discount and their communication via email has been very smooth. I switched off and lowered all annoying sounds in my car in seconds!! What a difference in the excoerience! Amazing little thing. Thumbs up - 5 stars! 👍😊
Locks features to force you to buy their device
This app lock certain features available on other free obd scanning apps. It keeps promoting to buy its evo pro device and doesn't allow you but to see live car data. It doesn't even reset faults other obd apps reset. I cannot cancel subscription and i cannot use it before subscribing !! There should be a trial period !! Absolutely scammed by this app and apple support their business that doesn't allow you to cancel subscription!!
Great value
Very happy to see updates and additional support for my mk7 GTI increasing the value of the Carista. I feel like there used to be monthly subscriptions that were better than the weekly ones. A week is sometimes not enough to review the changes and decide whether you want to keep them or not. You cannot undo a change if your subscription expires. Overall a great tool for the money. Looking forward to more features and customization coming.
1 month subscription still auto renews
Helpful app, but misleading 1 month subscription. They will auto renew it. Customer service is only available M-F.
Disappointed
I was using this quite happily for nearly 2 years. Now my subscription was nearing renewal they’ve suddenly stopped allowing you to save your scan results to your phone! I don’t know who’s genius idea that was but I’ve cancelled my renewal for this reason and I’m moving to OBD eleven. If you’re gonna remove functionality at least give customers information on this so they can decide whether or not to download the latest version. Updated 18th June in response to developers. If this is ‘a bug’ and you knew about it. Why didn’t you push out an email to subscribers to point this out?
Lexus ES
This device has saved me a lot of money over the years on diagnostics and customisations. Only thing it’s missing for me right now is 2022 Lexus ES 300h parking brake service option. I hope it gets added soon

Opted for Carista as amongst other things it can do a forced dpf regen. Diagnosed turbo issue and have used the gearbox option to remove the annoying dsg lag, factory set to ‘delay’ now changed to immediate or direct that is not as immediate as it may sound but a definate improvement. Only wish ‘carplay’ was supported so the centre display screen could be used. Have purchased app ‘dpf monitor for VAG’ as this shows dpf on screen allowing monitoring of cars display.
Skoda customisation
Still no Skoda customisation menus years subscription was a waste of my money

Easy to connect, a lot of set up can be done, it’s working very well, i hope there will be soon more options for customizing in future updates, keep up the good work!
Frustrating
App has logged me out and when I try to log back in it keeps saying there is an error. 5 minutes earlier it working fine - now it says it doesn’t recognise my email and won’t log me in… even though I have paid for a years subscription. Waste.

Con…!! I used this for years but now being forced to buy a 12 month sub and Carista evo adapter..!!
Well spent the money and bought the adapter so now spent best part of £90! Guess what after unlocking everything i cannot do the customisation that Carista says it can! Cannot turn of fake engine sound etc…. Not even an option I have been with them for years I could have baught an alternative product from elsewhere and i wish i did now! Don’t waste your money! O and I am having other issues with the car but the logs this thing produces are not acepted by a finance company for pcp rejection so wasted money using this to sort that problem too..!!

Scammer App
Never buy this product from them. You better off pay a bit more and don’t have to worry about subscription fee also it don’t work on a lot of vehicles. Be aware if you only want to used once and they will automatically keep charging you without you noticing it and you cannot get a refund by any means. It a scammer app. Be aware, I only purchase a 1 months but what in their right mind to renew my purchase automatic. Which I don’t ask for and when I try to get a refund it got rejected. SACAM!!!
Great app but too expensive
The app works exactly as advertised, I was able to reset my service due warning and make some customizations I never knew possible on my Audi. Great job guys! However, the only reason I cannot give it 5 stars is because of the ridiculous yearly pricing! I find this app seriously overpriced. It seems to me that for a regular user who needs the app roughly twice a year to reset some service due warning it shouldn't cost that much! Why can't we just pay one time fee and that's it?...It seems much more suitable...
