User interface not intuitive
I had high hopes for this app, but needs a lot of work. Creating an itinerary is needlessly tedious. Too many clicks. UI/UX is not well thought out. Too difficult to update, and the battery train on the tracking feature seem to use 2018 technology. It’s killed my battery twice. Way more than skiing apps, SUP apps, Strava, etc. assumes you are plugged in or carrying a large battery pack. Drive phone to overheat. Not a paying customer unless they fix these fundamental flaws.

L’app est presque parfaite, svp faite que si ont partage le voyages à 2-3 , les photos se place dans l’ordre chronologique!
Great app
Super little app for recording your trips and allowing others to share. Works really well and is very intuitive. We’ve ordered the end of trip book twice and they are really high quality. Just make sure you edit them well!
Many issues.
Synchronization always fails because;Trip "Mexico" overlaps with trip "Mexico". Change the dates or delete one trip. Yea but the scan created a bunch of Mexico trips go figure it out. Why does adding photos to steps isn’t automatic if it figured out the dates between the steps? If the photo picker was easy ok but it’s flickering and you have to pick photos one by one no way to choose a ranch. Adding Photos for a step with multiple days is a nightmare and picker is buggy. Anyways app did not work at all for me. iPhone 16 pro running latest iOS
Laten zien aan de thuisblijvers.
Het mooie is dat de thuisblijvers volledig op de hoogte zijn van wat je doet. En alleen die mensen het kunnen zien die jij uitnodigt . En je moet elke dag wat op schrijven zodat je het niet vergeet.

Polarsteps est une application très agréable pour partager ses voyages, mais quelques améliorations seraient vraiment appréciables. Il n’est pas toujours facile de renseigner son moyen de déplacement, surtout lorsqu’on en change régulièrement au cours d’un voyage. Le délai entre la rédaction d’un message et sa notification est également parfois assez long, ce qui rend les interactions moins fluides. Les petits réels proposés en fin de voyage sont une super idée et permettent de garder un joli souvenir du séjour. Dommage toutefois de ne pas pouvoir choisir soi-même la musique qui accompagne la vidéo. Enfin, davantage de choix d’emojis pour réagir aux publications des autres serait un vrai plus. De petites améliorations qui rendraient l’expérience encore plus agréable et interactive !

Have used Polar Steps to follow friends and create my own. Great app and so easy to use. You choose who follows this. Great to look back on too.
Not for cruising
Not very good when on a cruise, your ship cuts in overland and seems to default to aeroplanes.

J’ai utilisé l’app pour faire plusieurs voyages et une fonctionnalité était de pouvoir voir sur une carte de ville les différentes activités, points d’intérêts et restaurants recommandés par Polarsteps, malheureusement la fonctionnalité n’existe plus et c’est très dommage… Polarsteps regagnera sa 5e étoile si cela revient
Vernieuwing is slechter
Ik schrijf nooit reviews hier, maar de vernieuwde Polarstaps-app is zoveel minder fijn. Vorige app zo logisch, duidelijk, intuïtief logisch in gebruik. Alles wat de vernieuwde app helaas niet is….

Incredible app that allowed us to document every step of our travels and share it with family and friends. Highly recommended
iPad or something
Trying to sort through photos and access the maps on a iPhone screen is not ideal. Why not an iPad version to make it easier??? Forget about designing a book for a big trip on an iPhone screen. Keeps being the top 1 or 2 battery usage app on my iPhone 16. Not impressed.
Great Adventure Companion
I love being able to track our travels in real time and include notes and pictures. Easy to use, but not easy to share. Most or our family and friends couldn’t figure out the app or follow us in real time until we made our travel public. Also tricky to share locations between devices - GPS coordinates that connect to a map for sharing would be more useful.
Awkward interface. Buggy implementation
This app looked like a perfect fit. I travel a lot. I’m in the middle of a trip that I’ve been planning for months. The app doesn’t allow me to backfill the flights I’ve already made. It doesn’t allow me to add planned travel on trains. It doesn’t allow me to add multiple stays at the same hotel when I arrive at the end of one month stay for a week at hotel abc leave for a week on cruise xyz. Then stay again at hotel abc before leaving. I have quite rapidly regretted paying $35 for this app.
Fantastische tracking, povere mogelijkheden opmaakfotoboek
Polarsteps is een fantastische reis app om je afgelegde route exact te trekken, om foto’s aan bepaalde plaatsen toe te kennen, om informatie met volgers te delen, om een sneltempo fotoboek te maken ook. !!! Wat ik niet begrijp, is de uiterst beperkte opmaakmogelijkheden van het fotoboek: geen gekleurde achtergronden, stickers of opmaakstijlen, lay-out wordt enkel door aantal foto’s beslist en kan je amper zelf bijsturen… Dat zal voor mij uiteindelijk een reden zijn om de app vaarwel te zeggen, als er geen verdere updates volgen. @PolarSteps: gigantisch potentieel, doe er iets mee!!

Useless
I select “plan a future trip” but the only dates I can select are in the PAST. So I can’t even review more than this because at that point it’s useless.
Good map out
Great that it tracked my movements, new where I stopped along my travels. Some stops were just a date late when I was publishing steps but I could adjust the date back. Very good over all though.
What did you do?
The app used to work ok. But then they added something. So when I started my trip, it asked me what the primary mode of transportation was going to be. I didn’t know what to put since we were using multiple modes of transportation so I basically got rid of that screen. Now, after 2 days of traveling I see the problem. It assumes I was driving around when I was actually walking. As a result, my travel map is all screwed up and is not at all a representation of where I went. Worse, there’s nowhere to change this. It basically defeats the purpose of the app. This might be my last trip using this app if they can’t get this straightened out.

Trip with spouse app fail
Not user friendly for two people trying to use one app to share our memories from two different phones. App would not allow both the contribute to the same trip album and allow each other to edit a stop or both contribute pictures. When we want to designate a location for a step of the trip, I.e Kensington Palace and Gardens….i had to just choose London. If I wanted to choose Borough Market, I had to just choose London. When I was looking for Piccadilly Circus, it selected Australia. I’m in London. Maybe I chose the wrong app for what we were hoping to accomplish. I’m in too deep and can’t figure out how to solve any of these issues. Unfortunately, it’s just not working out in a user friendly way for what we were hoping. I wish it would zoom in on where we are with all the areas of London and easily identify where we are each step of the way. I think there is potential, it just isn’t there yet. Please fix these issues ASAP.

Great for making maps of your travels whilst recording your trip through photos all placed in the right location.
Constant Sync fail
app on phone has constant sync fails each time after i add past trips over browser. I had to contact the support twice on this already. And the issue persists. The only solution is to deinstall+install the app on the phone each time. Which is bothersome. I like the app and its features, so much it deserves all 5 stars, but as long as its not working stable i will not recommend it further. And a separate iPad version would actually be nice.
Stop asking for “Location Always On”
Each time I open the app, there is this pop-up to enable always on tracking. A) I don’t want that. It’s not interesting if I took a left or right at that street. B) my followers don’t care either C) it’s eats battery - even though you say so it doesn’t - it does. Other than that, besides from a few glitches it’s nice to see what friends and family are doing.

poorly designed
looks like built by someone who did not travel themselves. No clean way to add stops while you already started traveling, no way to reorder past stops, no clean way to even expressively add start point; can’t resolve Brooklyn, NY?? and no way to add, neither; dropped the app after 20 min of frustration
Very useful app
Nice app for tracking your travels, storing your photos and writing a description of what you did and when. Easy for family & friends to keep track of where you are and what you’re up to. Would like to be able to attach a few words to each individual photo, but other than that, suits our needs nicely!
The idea is cool but thats all
Unfortunately sharing options are limited and outcome is useless. On the “reels” video, you can choose what you really share and it choses photos almost randomly. If you will share a few photos along the route thats fine but after 5 sites, its useless. It was a nice attempt but it needs a lot of improvement.
Noch nicht perfekt!
Erster Punkt: Das Reel sollte auch in der normalen Display Ausrichtung, also quer, erstellt werden können. Zeigt man die Reels an einem grösseren Screen, dann nerven diese Aufrechten Videos! Zweiter Punkt: Es existiert keine Apple TV App! Dritter Punkt: Zusätzlich zum Reel müsste es auch möglich sein eine Diashow abzuspielen. Vierter Punkt: einmal abgeschickt kann ein Fotobuch nicht mehr storniert werden falls ein Fehler entdeckt wurde!
Great App
Great app. Tracks trips and easy interface allows quick posts and uploads. No option to use when offline as won’t open properly. Love the idea of creating a photo album but the software for this isn’t quite there yet. My ‘book’ came out at over 300 pages! Will definitely use now for future trips and it’s so easy and feels safer for kids than major social media platforms.

I just installed and was walking through the set up and this application insists on looking at my contacts. What the hell?

Really a nice app, but sometimes it tries to insert steps that you don’t want.
Cool, but seems catered to touristy POIs
1. I think if I enter dates and times for the Spots that I’ve lined up for a trip, shouldn’t I be able to sort them such that they are listed in order of date and time? 2. Maps powered by tripadvisor? Surely another map provider would enable one to easily add any point of interest (boutique stores, cafes, restaurants, art galleries, etc.). I’m having to enter every place manually. I think I’m better off using a spreadsheet for now.

It’s nice to know
It is nice to know that my daughter and her husband are enjoying their holiday, I track them as they visit interesting places, sharing photographs as they go. It is so nice to be able to follow them in this way.
Can’t find any destinations
Just downloaded this and tried it for my Iceland trip but it can’t find any of my destinations even using the address- quite frustrating

I absolutely love using this app. It’s easy and informative to my followers esp family members who can keep track of my adventures.
Could be great
I’ve used this app for a few lengthy trips now and it seems good in most areas except one. Adding a picture along the trip is tedious. 7 clicks are needed to add one picture. Sometimes I just say forget it and pass on adding a pic because of the time it takes. Maybe the app needs an “add picture” button.

Dreadful App
I typed in a 1000 word update, with multiple photos, the went to browse something on Safari. When I returned the whole Polarsteps draft was deleted. Seriously!!!
