- Helpful for recording professional videos
What they complain about

- App freezes and crashes frequently
- Subscription price feels too high for updates
Easy to use
Quick setup on computer or iPad. Easy to use and to control rate of scrolling even as you are talking. Get it!
Essential functions paywall
Slick app but to mirror text you need to pay £80. If you are using a traditional teleprompter the free app os useless
Easy to use, very handy
I have been using Teleprompter for several years now and it makes recording videos so much easier. I like that I can control the speed of the scroll and easily upload my scripts to the app. I use it on my iPad which I place on my teleprompter equipment and it works perfectly so that I can be looking at the camera on my phone while reading the script mirrored from the app.
Teleprompter Pro
Great app- but the app often has trouble pairing to another device to remote control. Often results in awkward waiting times while on set troubleshooting.
Teleprompter
Teleprompter seems to work well and has a lot of useful feature's in the free version. As with most apps though, if you plan to use it in a professional setting, you’ll need to purchase the upgraded version.
Great app for a discourse
This app is really great and helps with timing and giving a talk. I have used it for years very successfully
Crashes every time
Every time I try to use my iPhone to control my iPad it crashes. It doesn’t matter which is the host or which is the remote. It used to work about 3 years ago. I need to cancel and find something reliable
Solid product does the job well
I’ve used this app for years. My primary use is for preaching but I also use it for making videos of messages to post online. Easy to import documents into and a great tool to load liturgical texts for candlelight services. Highly recommend.
Top Drawer Technology
5 stars — I use Teleprompter Pro at least 2 times per week. I write a weekly newsletter that I then record for YouTube/Linkedin/Facebook. Teleprompter Pro lets me appear far more professional and saves me hours from having to memorize a script. It’s helped me build many hours of training courses on Udemy that would not have been possible otherwise. Strongly recommended.
Prompt by voice?
It needs more options like scroll by voice like its competition
The Gold Standard in Teleprompter Apps
I was one of the earliest users of Teleprompter Pro and have relied on it countless times over the years. It works perfectly on both my desktop and iPhone, giving me complete control over scrolling speed, font size, and text opacity when displaying the script over other material. It is exceptionally reliable, easy to use, and has become invaluable to me. I recommend Teleprompter Pro without hesitation. Five stars from me!
Piece of junk
Save your money. The glitchiest teleprompter app I’ve ever used and that’s saying something. Crashes half the time you try to connect a remote, and the other half it connects but the scroll is jumpy. Only after multiple attempts and the most delicate of troubleshooting can you make it work once. Using it the next day in a different location? Totally different rules. Upgrading to pro is totally useless. Works fine if you don’t need to connect a remote, but that’s kind of the whole point of upgrading to “Pro”.
Works great for performances
Reliable and unfussy aid for speeches and performance
Schlecht zu bedienen
Das Recording läuft dauerhaft, oder gar nicht. Mal ist der Timer da, mal nicht, die Buttons sind so klein und damit kaum zu drücken. Hab aufgegeben. Es nervt.
Great app but has some glitches
I purchased the lifetime version of this app and when it works, it’s great. But every now and then it asks me to purchase the full version when I try to tap the mirrored text mode. I have to restart the app and my phone to re-enable this crucial feature.
Teleprompter Pro
Very easy to use and I love that Word docs don't have to be converted to text files to be recognized by the app.
The developer is gaslighting over feature removal
This product use to be great. Functionality such as mirroring mode when put under a beam splitting glass has been shifted over to a paid feature. Between THIS app and the near identical Teleprompter app by the same developer the support isn’t great and features are slowly being eroded. Please avoid.
Teleprompter review
I’m completely satisfied with Teleprompter Pro. It’s a great tool that comes in handy, not just for personal projects but also professional projects.
Great App, but not as a subscription
I have sampled most of the teleprompter apps for iPad and Teleprompter Pro is, by far, the best. But, paying $80/year for an app that sees little to no innovation year to year is shameful.
The BEST on the market!
I’ve been using Teleprompter for several years now and it’s been a complete game-changer for my business. Making video on my phone has never been easier with this app. The functionality of the app is very impressive and is really user-friendly for a non-tech person like me. Anyone would be hard-pressed to find an app as good as this one for your teleprompter needs using your phone. The value is 10 times what I paid for it! Highly recommended!!
Con app!
I payed for features that are now behind a subscription model. I demand either a refund or access to features like mirroring that I previously payed for that I’m now expected to pay over 50 pounds a year for. The support/help function in the app does not work. I can see another review on here saying the same thing and the developers denying it.
Invaluable
I use this app all the time. For me it’s invaluable. My only (small) complaint is that it’s hard to find some of the settings to make changes to things like the scroll speed and text size.
Almost there
This app is a great start at using your iOS devices as a teleprompter. There are two missing functionality improvements that would drastically improve the experience. 1. Support importing of pages docs…. It’s an iOS/ipad app and we need to export to .docx to then import into the app… 2. When using a device as a remote there is no way to set a specific scroll speed. There is a clumsy slider that is no precise nor repeatable. Having the same speed numbers as the main app would ensure you can go back to a specific speed with each script. Bonus 3. In the remote app there should be a countdown timer option similar to the main app. When I’m recording my own scripts I need to add a bunch of paragraphs to give me time to adjust and prepare. When recording others and running the prompter remotely I need to count down out loud which can mix with the presenter beginning to speak when they start a bit early. It’s been about two years since picking this app up. It’s almost there, but needs to get these 2(well 3) points taken care of for quality of life.
Easy to use
This app comes in handy for school projects that I have had. It is easy to navigate, upload scripts/texts, save to phone photo album. Overall, thumbs up.
Mirroring removed from paid app
I paid for this app a few years ago to access the mirroring function. This has been removed now and I’m to pay £60 a year for this basic functionality. What a rip off, and I’m pretty sure this breaks the TOS too.
Great tool!
This app has saved me so many times! I’m a horrible memorizer and this app is so easy to use. Sometimes it crashes, I just make sure nothing is running in the background, then I pickup where I left off.
Annoying App to Use
Every upgrade seems to remove the simplicity. Now I can’t scroll without the text jittering. I wouldn’t recommend this app!
Good!
I love the idea and am new to teleprompter and still discovering it’s amazing things
Love it!
I have used this app for years and for multiple applications. I used it during the COVID error to distribute training content across 400 + locations when I was a training manager and now I use it for my own business for social media content creation. I love it!
Locked basic functions behind paywall
When you could use this app, they locked the mirror text behind a paywall in 2026 - to answer note from developer - how was I using it then? I’d use it if you still had the weekly option.
Great app - remote needs help though
Love this app. It’s really handy and helpful. The only issue I have is that the remote connection doesn’t always work with some phones. I have a personal phone and a work phone. I want to use my work phone for controlling, but it doesn’t always work.

Just so-so
I need a teleprompter I can trust to save my changes after I close the file and this one has proven 50/50 on that one. To go through a longer document and make edits to open it up later and find it did not save is very frustrating. I also want the ability to import pre-formatted documents from MS Word and this software limits this. About 80% imports and the other 20% does not. For example, I like to highlight things in yellow that I want to emphasize but that highlighting feature does not import. I’m able to do it in the teleprompter but formatting on my iPad is much more laborious than on my laptop
Great teleprompter app
The app works well and has all the features I need. I use it on an iPad Air.
It is obvious you are reading from a paper
It is not helpful. Anyone could see you are reading from a paper overlay
Great use of free app
I like that this app has a simple free version. I make very simple videos & it serves me well so far.
VDO recording
I recorded VDO and saved it in camera roll but it not showed. Therefore, I wasted my time for 3-4 hours to re recorded the VDO on teleprompter again and again but it completely doesn’t work. I don’t know what to do and now my voice is all gone omg😭
Great app
Simple to use... great features.
Not good for landscape mode on mobile devices
This app needs a bit more work for users wanting to use teleprompter in landscape mode on their mobile device. You are not able to position your script to the far left of the screen where the camera lens is located so that you are looking directly in the camera when speaking. It appears you can only position the script in the center, which means it looks like you’re looking off in the distance and not making eye contact. After at least a half hour of trying to shift the script, I finally stopped trying and decided to use the Video Teleprompter app instead. This one automatically shifts your script to the far left next to the camera lens when you’re in landscape mode on your mobile device. Looks like they considered this feature a bit more when making the app. Hopefully Teleprompter pro gets this fixed.
Not happy
Tried to read the full script but it was keep blocking and not moving the sentences .i had to keep watching 1 min video to even check this out
Awesome
It had saved me and given me new hope for making videos with ease, comfort.
Almost, but not for pros
Some features are great but it is way too unreliable. 1. when creating a network the connection is highly unstable. If for example you need to edit text the other viewing monitors get out of sync So the entire system has to be reconnected. We had embarrassing moments with vip Interviews do to this. 2. the major Killer is That when controlling remotely there is no way to set the control screen to the show the same thing the speaker sees on the iPad. It should scale to match the iPad screen but rather it’s just fills your desktop window. If you are not seeing what the speaker sees you can’t run the prompter for them. Seems like a major oversight.
Close, but still huge issues.
I’ve used this app professionally for about two years now. Bugs have been annoying, but tolerable. Recently I’ve started using it in live broadcasts, and I’m afraid I’ll have to find a stronger solution. Every time I use it I pair an iPad master with an iPhone controller. It’s so close to perfect, but there are a few huge points that keep me sweating bullets every single time. The controls are extremely sluggish and relay is often steppy. I have to keep softly moving the script in filming breaks because it unsynchronizes after idling (and I literally have to put my hand in front of the camera to accept the iPhone into the session when I reset) I have learnt to live with the fact that my iPhone isn’t even close to a 1:1 representation of what is on screen with the iPad, and I mainly just ride the speed and play/pause buttons while hidden off camera with the iPad in line of sight. But in order to keep using this I need confidence that the lag issues will be resolved. Even if the solution is to hardwire a connection. I need reliability.
Awesome
I do enjoy using Teleprompters
Didn’t upgrade
Upgrade to pro to unlock features. Payment went through. App kept saying it didn’t update and reverted to basic.
If it didn’t freeze all the time
I want to give this app 5 stars but I can’t because of one main thing, it freezes a lot and please don’t tell me it’s the device I’m using because I’ve used this on over 7 different devices including my iPad Pro 10.5 and it’s the same thing, I open the app and it’s frozen, can’t move in it can’t import documents can’t even navigate within the app, then it stops freezing all by itself and your good to go, but I’ve been using this app for years because it’s good but regardless of whether iPhone or iPad it’s always the same it randomly freezes which when you have an important document to record as a working voiceover is a pain to constantly have to deal with. And the use of remote controllers isn’t great but it’s the freezing that I really can’t deal with. I’m writing this review now cause it’s currently frozen so I can’t work so I thought let me give this review that I’ve been meaning to do. Fix the freezing and it’s almost perfect. From a frustrated user
Good app but poor price model
The app works okay but painful in your pocket that you have to purchase a license for both MacBook and IOS. Why not a package for users who have both? Especially when used for non commercial for a NFP use
Good
