The Korean font is not supported, and the speed is too fast!
I’ve been using it for several years. I don‘t know what kind of version has been up for a few years. Korean fonts are still not supported, and all the sentences copied from Google Drive look like a strange format, and above all, the speed starts from 70, which is too fast for those who are slow to speak or have language disabilities. In fact, if ordinary people put it at 70, they are all too fast, so they have to adjust it by attaching one person to the side with a remote app. And even if I ask for help, there is no answer. It’s my final conclusion that it‘s not an app to pay for.

App stays on a load screen for hours
I’ve used this app one time. Now every time I open it, it stays in a loading screen won’t let you click anything on the screen. And it does this every time I open the app. I paid $30 for this app. Sure would be nice to be able to use it.

I use this for so many things. Voiceover work, speeches, and more. It tracks my voice and follows perfectly!
Garbage
This would be so great…if it worked. It doesn’t. Wasted so much time trying to get the voice activation to reliably work. Move along, nothing to see here.
The one I was looking for
Great app, love the voice follow feature so I don't have to pick a speed and try to keep up. One feature I wish it had is to go to the next script and create a new video.
Just bought the Pro version.
Confused, I was prompted to set up a login and the only thing the login gives you is a page to sign up for monthly extension plan? I’m new to this app but can this even be used without a subscription??? Now, the app just crashes.
App is good but have had admin issues
I have found the app very good but on trying to explore other features my problems started. The extension was applied to the wrong account and attempts to get that sorted out have been tortuous. Support seems all about what they can’t do rather than what they can.

Super useful for prompts for longer speeches. One great improvement would be a live practice with feedback on pace, tone and emphasis
Recordings are unusable - audio drifts out of sync
The teleprompter side of this app works well. VoiceTrack is genuinely clever. The problem is the recording function, which is the whole reason to use it. Videos recorded in the app have audio that drifts progressively out of sync. It's not a fixed delay you can correct in an editor - the drift gets worse across the recording, so nothing lines up no matter how you shift it. The cause is that the app records video at a variable frame rate while the audio stays constant. Editing software assumes a constant frame rate, so every recording comes out looking badly dubbed. I found this out after filming videos I couldn't afford to reshoot, then spent an afternoon diagnosing the files and repairing them with command line tools. Most people won't have the technical background to do that, and shouldn't need to. They'll just have ruined footage. Until the developer fixes the recording pipeline to output constant frame rate video, I'd avoid recording in this app entirely. Use it as a prompter with a separate camera if you must, but that defeats the point of buying it.
Great… and not too great
I have used this app on an android tablet and on an iPad. On the iPad it is nearly perfect. It works smoothly and beautifully. On the android tablet it is not very good at all - very, very buggy! If you have an iPad you should be quite pleased. But with an Android tablet, you’ll be pulling your hair out.

Bait and switch - constant upsell on PAID version
I happily paid the high purchase price and was ready to get to work, but no, you must also subscribe to access critical features. That kind of double-dipping is incredibly scummy. To make matters worse, the app locks up when switching between portrait and landscape and randomly freezes during use. At this price, that’s unacceptable. I’m going to push for this app to be delisted until the company fixes both its functionality and its misleading pricing model.
No Support
Been using the service for a year. It’s a terrific app, but it’s pretty much useless without the monthly subscription. Using the iPhone not he desk to control the teleprompter on the iPad when I need to scroll up for a retake is amazing. That’s fine as it provides a lot of value at $5/mth. But recently it stopped working and there was no immediate response from support. After 24 hours I did hear back and the issue was fixed, but in a 24/7 production environment, I'd like to see better support: confirmation of issue received; online issue tracking; it's not uncommon for vendors to come and go so better communication is essential. Great app, just needs better support.
Not responding
I attempted to purchase the Lifetime license but the transaction never completed. Is a Lifetime license still available for PromptSmart Pro, and if so, how can I purchase it? Also, what exactly was restored when I selected Restore Purchases?
Great App, But Still Stuck in the Cloud
This is a follow-up to my first review, “Great App, But Still Stuck in the Cloud.” Well, guess what—I finally clicked the “iCloud Drive” button in the app… and surprise! It wasn’t some exclusive cloud vault or premium add-on. It was just the iPad’s regular Files app, hiding behind a fancy name and a cloud emoji like it’s in costume for Halloween. I’ve been copying and pasting scripts like it’s 2005, avoiding that button because it screamed “login required” or “subscribe now.” Turns out it was the one place I actually needed to go. So yeah, now that I know the trick, the app works like a charm. Voice tracking is great, scrolling is smooth, and once your script’s in there, you’re golden. But c’mon devs—next time just label it “Files / iCloud” or something clear. Don’t make me play ding-dong ditch with my own documents. Bumped it up to 4 stars because the app is good—but I had to unlock it like it was a side quest in a video game. Origin review…Look, PromptSmart Pro has been around longer than most influencers’ careers, and the voice-tracking teleprompter feature? Chef’s kiss. It works like a charm, even when I mumble like I’m auditioning for a mumblecore film. But here’s the part that makes me tilt my head like a confused dog: Why, in the year 2026, can I still not just open a file from my iPad’s local storage? Why must I go on a scavenger hunt through cloud syncing, account logins, and monthly upsell traps just to load a simple script? It’s like buying a microwave that only works if you subscribe to a cloud-based kitchen. I paid $29 one-time for this thing, and now you want me to pay more just to sync or upload a file? The app already lives on my device. My files are right there. Just let me open one. Revolutionary, I know. Bottom line: It mostly works as promised, but it’s wrapped in a monetization scheme that feels more 2012 startup than 2026 usability. Lose the cloud dependency for basic features, and you’ll have a perfect 5-star tool. Until then, I’ll keep yelling at my iPad while activating my “extended intro trial” for the 9th time. Awful. The lite version worked better fine, but I needed prompting for more than 3 minutes so I bought the pro version. Anytime you try to hit play the app just crashes. 100% of the time.
Just works
The app simply works. Having the voice recognition cue is a night and day difference to “dumb” teleprompter apps. Got me up and running fast! The only downside is the price, though it gives you a good functional unit, and requires a subscription to take it up to yet another level.
Paid for pro, then they make you pay more!
I’m a bit peed off as I purchased the pro app, presuming that was it, I would have access to all features for a lifetime. But helas, there was a trial, which I wasn’t aware off and now having to pay the same amount every year. Bit sneaky that, and disappointing. So please be aware!
Good app with one fatal flaw!
The app works well, although it struggles often with interpreting where you are in the script without a good microphone attached, but the biggest flaw is that the built in iPhone camera stabilisation doesn’t work in the app, meaning you are left with very shaky footage that needs to be stabilised in post.

Great app with terrible reliability
For such a great app, it’s a shame that after all this time they haven’t fixed the major bug causing it to crash every time you press the play button. I uninstall the app, reinstall it again and it works for 12 hours before it begins crashing constantly again. PLEASE FIX THIS
Effective but intuitive
A very useful and straightforward tool which I highly recommend. The voice recognition timing trigger is so very much appreciated and welcomed
Weekly user. It’s… ugh. Fine.
Does what I need, but the price is so aggravating for the glitches I face. Super expensive for what it is. I had a 3* and just switched to 2* What’s GOOD: It follows my voice. That is why I bought the app. What’s BAD: 1) subscriptions. Hate renewing. Hate the price. 2) formatting. A) Sometimes I wish the words went bigger than size 10 so I could view when recording from farther back B) copy/paste often includes black text, but not always. Not until I get into recording the script does it just disappear my text. (Dark text on dark background instead of white text on dark background.) C) not easy to import. Formatting is whacky D) I eventually just CLEAR the formatting which removes key words I wanted to emphasize with bold, etc. E) still no clue why there are so many title fields. The layers of scripts are so weird. No clue why it’s laid out like it is. 3) login. Never saves login. Have to log in every time. Not the highest security risk platform. People can get my scripts, it’s fine. I hate logging in every single time. And it always puts the login page behind a couple of clicks. Overall not a fan. If I find something better, I’m out.
App crashing on iPhone 16 pro
I’ve been using this app for a very long time and have always been happy with its performance. Unfortunately, after installing it on my new iPhone 16 Pro, I’ve started experiencing frequent crashes, which have been extremely frustrating. The most upsetting issue happened recently when I recorded a 30-minute session, only for the app to crash under pressure and fail to save any of the recording. Losing important work like this is not just inconvenient—it makes me hesitant to rely on the app for critical tasks. Issues I’ve encountered: - The app freezes and crashes unexpectedly, especially during longer recording sessions. - It seems poorly optimized for the iPhone 16 Pro, as I never had these problems on my previous device. - There’s no auto-recovery or backup feature for unsaved recordings, which makes data loss even worse. Suggestions for improvement: 1. Fix stability issues and optimize the app for the latest iOS and iPhone hardware. 2. Add an auto-save or crash recovery feature to prevent losing recordings. 3. Improve error handling so the app warns users before crashing under heavy load. I really hope this can be fixed soon because I don’t want to switch to another app. Please let me know if there’s a beta version or an upcoming update that addresses these problems. I’d appreciate any updates on this issue. Thank you for your time.
Game Changer
This app is outstanding! I’ve been doing video production for 20+ years and have worked with many teleprompter setups. The auto scrolling is a game changer! This makes it so much easier as a solo creator when you need a teleprompter. I would highly recommend pairing it with the Glide Gear teleprompter. You can use it with and tablet or smartphone.
Warning it cost more and more
I don’t recommend this product because what they charge does not match their description in the app store. I paid $30 and now they want $100 a year. I want a refund
Best of the worst
The voice activation was fantastic! It worked way better than I expected. The app also includes all the basic functionality you would need. The only thing that really rubbed me the wrong way is after buying the pro version There’s still paid subscription options that aren’t unlocked. While ultimately, I think all these Teleprompter apps are more expensive than they should be. This is the most reasonably priced one in the bunch that delivers on what it advertises.
Slimy and sneaky double payment required
They not only charge you £29.99 to download the app but to use the features advertised they expect you to pay another annual fee. Simply slimy and sneaky. Don’t download
Not good
Just cancelled my subscription. Using your phone to move it doesn’t work. It jumps around and gets lost and makes me have to keep re-recording the piece. Better to use the voice activated movement which is free. This has its own issues but no better/worse than this which gist Monty each month.
A mainstay of my professional work
I’ve used this app for thousands of videos. It keeps getting better every year. When I first reviewed it I judged it pretty harshly as it still had some flaws but now I think it’s basically perfect. The voice recognition for scrolling works almost perfectly. The mass import form cloud services feature is a huge time saver. You can get some great work done with this app.

Voicetrack no longer works
Great app and have been using for a long time, but the voicetrack feature no longer works for me. It ‘pulses’ as though it’s recognising my voice, but doesn’t actually move the script along. Really frustrating :(
Great potential but has become neglected over time
I bought this app a while ago for public speaking and recording videos. I love the voice recognition feature. As time has gone on, I’ve noticed it becoming quite buggy. More recently, I’ll be working on a long script, and despite saving at regular intervals, the app will kick me out and I have to restart it. When I go back into the app, I find my script has been deleted. Sometimes, I get kicked out and the app just closes on it’s own - mid presentation. Even to access other functions which could help as a work around, require a subscription on top of the price originally paid. I get that voice recognition can be hit and miss due to external factors, such as background noise or whether the mic is picking me up properly. However, if the basics aren’t there and scripts aren’t saved or the app randomly crashes, then the voice recognition feature is redundant. I really hope this app returns to its former glory because it was my go to.
One hour 15 minute program, with live guitar accompaniment!
Prompt Smart tracks terrific! Occasionally if I play the guitar to loud or aggressively, while delivering my script, Prompt Smart might lose me, but as soon as I quiet down, even slightly, it catches right up. I’m 75, I couldn’t make my presentation without Prompt Smart. I am so grateful for this technology.
Paid for onetime purchase but no longer can log in to use
I bought this app back in 2025 as a one time purchase of $29. Haven't use it for a while, now trying to sign back in to use full function, system doesn't recognize my email? There is absolutely no customer service email or phone to communicate. I want my purchase back, please.
Works well
I have used this to record dozens of videos. Sometimes the voice track will skip ahead but most of the time it works very well. I’ve used it in selfie mode, and mirrored with a home made autocue and SLR camera - both ways are excellent. The customisation is helpful to get the balance right between text size and the number of words on-screen. I have found voice track works best when using a lapel microphone so the app gets a clean voice input. The app loses a star because when my wife used it to record videos a couple of years ago it didn’t track her voice as well - but works fine when I read her script. I don’t know if this has been rectified recently though.
April 23 Update Has Caused a Lot of Bugs
April 23 — Awful update! Buggy as hell. Settings reset every time you shoot. Switch to horizontal filming with camera in background and it cuts in half with black screen. Can no longer align teleprompt script left or right closer to the camera. App is now buggy and crashing. Was absolutely perfect before, what a shame!
Why is it so difficult to cancel my subscription?
I’m no longer using this app and would like to cancel my subscription, but the right to cancel seems so convoluted. Surely there must be an easier way to do it?

I’ve used the app for probably a decade. It’s always had some glitches, but they never really interfered with my workflow, but lately the app has become useless because the scroll stops so regularly. Very disappointing.
Best Teleprompter app- voice track is awesome
Great app, I've tried a lot of teleprompter apps this one is by far the best Easy to use, fast to setup and import scripts Voice track is so much better than scrolling at a set speed One annoying thing is the 3 dots near the play button, sometimes i press this accidentally when trying to press play, please move the 3 dots somewhere else they are in the way. Other than that its a great teleprompter app Highly recommended.
Nice when it works
This is a frustrating app. When it works, it’s great. But it is full of bugs: it often freezes and won’t start, gets stuck, or sometimes has an offset error where it centres itself past the speaking point so that the text runs off the top of the screen. I have about half my takes ruined by teleprompter mistakes. It would be a great app if the developers could code software professionally.
